This mic arm does exactly what it's supposed to do. The low profile makes your setup a lot cleaner than traditional mic arms. For me, even though it is a low profile it does not interfere with me using my my keyboard with gaming.

A lower profile mic arm is better as it doesn't obstruct your view of your monitor when gaming. This particular mic arm is quiet when moving it around. The only problem I have with it is when I have the arm at the lowest angle, sometimes it might drop to an even lower angle that's not suppose to be intended. Other than that, it seems I have the version 2 that has a knob to adjust the vertical angle so I don't need to use a allen wrench like in version 1. Props to Elgato for fixing this

Best arm mic for streamer/gamer/home studio recording, basically anything honestly! Very convenient and flexible. Seems durable based on material and feeling. Sturdiest arm I have ever used. Really recommend anyone to invest in this. You won’t regret it!

Arm works great! Good choice for those with a smaller desk and elevated monitors, I attached picture with how mine is setup and it works amazingly. Very smooth movement, my only complaint is that the magnetic cable run covers occasionally pop off if the cable puts too much pressure on them.

I was looking around for a low profile, desk clamp mic arm, and unfortunately all of the well reviewed ones (like the ProBoom Ultima) are triple the price of this one. If you just need a basic LP mic arm, it'll work, but you're definitely giving up a lot compared to regular mic arms at this price (like the Rode PSA1). The Elgato arm uses tension screws to adjust movement (as opposed to a gas spring. As a result, if you mount a heavier mic and don't was it to slowly go down, you need to really tighten the screw that controls vertical motion, and then loosen it when you want to raise or lower it. I understand that using a gas spring on a low profile mic is going to be (a lot) more expensive, and if that was the only downside, I think it would be worth it. The next issue is that the arm has really poor tolerances. The hole in the clamp where the lower arm segment falls into is just a little too wide, which makes the arm wobble within it. It does have a tightening screw, which allows you to lessen the unwanted movement, but that results also in it being difficult to rotate. The same issue exists where the two arm segments join together, but even worse; Even when I tighten the joint as much as I can, there's still a lot of give between the arms. The worst problem with the arm is the mount itself. It's hard to describe, so I'll include pictures, but basically, the end of the arm has a little nub mount, which a cheap ball socket tightens around, which holds a ball with a 1/4" screw, that can be turned into 3/8 or 5/8 with the included adapters. Unfortunately, nub mount isn't universal, so you cannot swap the mount out with your own. They could have saved money and just used a simple 5/8 pin or something, but instead they use a proprietary design that only works with their poor quality mount. That last thing is what really made me not like this mount. I can deal with poor tolerances, but the fact that I can't swap the actual mount with my own is really frustrating. I wouldn't mind if the the proprietary mount added functionality, it seems like Elgato actively invested resources into making a nonstandard mount that is actively worse than the universal option. If that problem was fixed, I would absolutely recommend this mic arm. The material is really nice, it has these cool magnetic cable cover things, and feels really sturdy. Actually one benefit to not using a gas spring, is that it can hold a lot more weight, I could mount my X-T4 + lens, and it felt extremely secure. At this price, the tolerances are acceptable, although I would be willing to pay more if they were improved. The reason I'm giving it one star, is that, in spite of all that, the most important part of the arm, mic mount itself, is unacceptable, and I'll be returning it. If they replaced it with a universal adapter, I would buy it in an instant, because it does fill a hole in the market of good quality low profile mic arms. The only reason I would get this would be if I was in dire need of a low profile mic arm and didn't want to pay $300. Otherwise, just get a PSA1 (or PSA1+), it's the same price, and is really good.

This arm is super adaptable. I don’t have a huge space and was still able to line this up to make my mic sound great and the stand not be in the way.

Would be five stars, for the form factor it provides - only thing I would complain about is you need to tighten the thumbscrew for the arm VERY tightly if you are planning to use a mic other than the elgato. I use a shure sm7b and it would have a problem with gradually going down, but apparently people online say you would just need to take apart the thumb screw and clean it out for it to gain some traction. Another problem (if you plan on using an Sm7b) is that the mounting point for the microphone doesn't come out very far from the ball socket, so my microphone would not want to turn certain ways because the XLR cable would run into the arm - fixed it by getting an extension tube for the microphone. But maybe it's just a Shure SM7B problem. That being said -- granted this arm is TECHNICALLY supposed to be for the Elgato microphone, but since they provided compatibility, it should work as intended regardless of microphone.

      Hello Paolo,

It does work with it, although it'd be infinitely impossible to fully accommodate all microphones sold in the market today. If there's something our team can more specifically help with, please don't hesitate in reaching out directly at any time right on our site.

Not made for thin desks! Also, the rubber grip shredded the very first time I adjusted arm, causing it to scratch my desk. My desk is glass, so the adjustment was screwed to the near top, in which the bolt in the middle ends, which I did not know when this happens, you cannot adjust anymore. The base will not move, making it useless to me with any other desk :(
