Just like everything else made by Elgato, The wave3 mic works seamlessly and has very good audio. I use this mic for streaming and the advanced features it has makes my live stream more simple. I recommend this mic to anyone just getting started in streaming or if you are already an advanced streamer as well. Way to go elgato.

Best mic for the price. Absolutely love my Wave 3 mic for streaming and for voice chat on discord. You download the software that goes with it and it is really streamlined. No extra bells or whistles that’s will get newcomers confused. Simple instructions.

This mic is easily the best USB mic out right now the software alone even makes it better being to separate your audio as a streamer makes things so much easier I like to see the software get a update to where u can control threshold for noise gate compressor bass treble and mid vocals but elgato definitely made a great product

Okay, so you’re reading my review because you want to know some stuff, well then, here you go:
The mic is just the doorway to El Gato’s free software, Wavelink.
Why should you care about Wavelink? Well, the best I can tell you is that you can add additional programs set onto the microphone such as active Noise Cancelling which works wonders and I certify my claim because I got the IETS cooling pad for my ASUS ROG 2023 M16, where the built-in fans and the cooling pad itself reaches over 50 decibels.
Why I am highlighting this fact is that my microphone is more-or-less than 6 inches, and elevated thanks to my El Gato boom arm, from my laptop and cooling fan! And even then, the only thing I hear is my sweet melodic voice.
A bit of a disclaimer though, the Noise Canceling downloadable program on El Gato’s Marketplace work’s wonders, yes, but if you sit the microphone too far away from your voice it will increase the chances of the program capturing external noise — in my case, my cooling pad —, so I recommend keeping the mic near your face roughly 5-7 inches away from it.
As you know because I have it, I strongly recommend purchasing the El Gato’s low-profile Mic Boom Arm — or something similiar in sturdiness and style — in order to comprehend what I am conveying. Moreover, if you do have it but are afraid of accidentally spitting onto the mic itself, buy El Gato’s dedicated Pop Filter to prevent internal contamination — the mic already has a built-in pop filter inside it’s case, but getting the external Pop Filter would be extra protection against you’re audiences’ ears as it makes your voice more crisp and focused.
Aside from the Noise Canceling downloadable programs, El Gato’s Marketplace also offers an Equalizer and a Compressor program if you really want to fine tune the output of your voice towards your audience.

The pros would be that the mic looks great, the software is great, and the pop filter built in does an ok job. The USB c input is a nice feature, as well as the capacitive mute button on the top.
As for cons, this mic will pick up on any noise nearby. It's incredibly sensitive, and takes some tweaking to get it to only pick up your voice. I was able to set it up perfectly to do just that, but it took some time. The software is cool, but it has its issues. After setting everything up perfectly, I updated the mic and it sounded absolutely terrible. Nothing I changed would fix it, and it was either too sensitive, or would barely pick up my voice. Some games I play would have the in game voice chat completely broken when using the dedicated wave input/outputs. I couldn't hear anyone, and no one could hear me. That issue only happened on wave, still worked fine using voicemeeter. Sadly that kind of ruins the mic, as it's one of it's main features to route and tune all your system audio. The mic could be a lot better if that would be fixed, as well as maybe adding a tuning setting to set your mic up out of the box for perfect sound.

For a USB Microphone it's very good out of the Box. The algado wave software is phenomenal. It's easy to use and intuitive and allows you to put different EQ effects. The software also allows you to have different inputs going in So you can monitor different audio outputs on your stream.

Ill admit, I wish I wouldn't have rushed this purchased. I purchased the mic about 3 months before I purchased a GO-XLR interface. So I dont need any of the features this mic has. It sounds great! and if you plan on using it without an interface its def one of the best options! But I will eventually upgrade to a Shure SM7B or something similar. Sounds great, was super easy to setup, and the elgato ecoysystem is one of the best!

Came from a blue yeti. Had to run other softwares to fix things i disliked and still hate how sensitive it was. Pick up a spider on the wall 2 rooms over.
This mic isnt like that. Crisp clear and good tocgo out the box. I sound better and dont have to use resource heavy softwares.

Bought for the purpose of creating YouTube videos and for streaming. Premium packaging right out of the box and the software is pretty straight forward (works fine with Windows 11). Great sound quality for price, and arguably better than the Blue Yeti Nano.

This is the best sounding microphone I've owned yet. I use the LP arm from Elgato to have it come under my monitor. It mounts perfectly on there and the cable comes out the back so it's not in the way of the mount. To get the most out of the mic, you need to download the Wave Link application, which lets you route all your audio through it to have better control of what your audience can hear if you record or stream. If you're familiar with VoiceMeeter, it is a simpler version of that. I did run into an issue wiith the Nividia Broadcast plugin. The audio will stutter until you disable the plugin, which is a bummer as I really like filtering out all background noise. The selection of plugins is lacking if you search directly on Elgato's store. You can find more by looking up some videos on how to setup the microphone.

The mic sounds also comes with a digital mixer that you would have to download from the manufacture website! Beware only support 3-4 game capture devices if you playing to set it up with a console. Has awesome cool features like a clip guard. Feels somewhat cheap. Body is plastic.
