Recently purchased. Battery might last 15 min on the pre-set temp. I really am not interested in putting the ap on my phone. Registerd the mug and put in a support ticket within 24 hrs of receiving this. Yes i did fully charge it.
While it works... it is awesome. But frankly the coffee doesn't cool down much in 15min anyway. It has been a few weeks. No response from customer service at ember. I think i might still be in the return window... maybe not. I really liked the coffee staying hot, but a 15 min window and has to get back on the charger isn't worth it to me. I wish it did work for a longer time frame... support is nonexistent from ember.

I loved using this mug for the 18 months it lasted for. It kept my coffee hot for a few hours, longer if I let it sit on the charger by my desk.
First the good: When it works, it does a good job at maintaining the configured temperature. It's a great concept, isn't too heavy, and has a decent battery life if you enjoy sipping coffee or tea.
The ugly: After 18 months, the ceramic coating began to flake off the lip of the mug. I only ever washed it with a soft bottle brush. Ember claimed the coating was FDA approved so would not harm me if ingested and offered me 20% off of a replacement mug which costs almost as much as the retail packaging. Since I'd rather not like ceramic flakes with my coffee I'm no longer using the mug, and given how expensive the mug is, I'm not considering replacing it.
The bad: the software just isn't great. It constantly tries to pair with the mug and requires periodic factory resets to fix pairing issues, causing me to lose my mug customization. Physically powering off the mug and force killing the android app seems to prevent these issues. Ember doesn't have an e-waste recycling program for when the battery hits its end of life, and it's not replaceable. They encouraged me to bring it to Best Buy for recycling instead. When the battery runs out of power, the existing insulation in the mug does a poor job of maintaining temperature as well- I get better thermal performance from a ceramic mug.
Conclusion: gets bonus points for a neat idea, but if it's only going to hold up for 18 months, I say stay away. Buy a dishwasher safe sealed insulated mug instead- it may not maintain the temperature with the same precision, but it'll last longer and is significantly less costly.

Does exactly what its supposed to do. Keeps my coffee hot and is easy to clean/use. The only 2 compliants I have is that when the level of coffee in the cup gets low, it seems to overheat it which causes a bit of burnt taste and that the Ember app on Android will sometimes just not work correctly, requiring disconnect/reconnect or uninstall/reinstall. The app isn't needed all the often as you can just set your desired temperature and leave it.

Bought this for my wife as a Christmas gift as she always complains about her coffee getting too cold and loves it hot. Bought this on a whim and it does not disappoint. She has made comments it's one of the best surprise gifts I ever gave her and that she loves it. After ~1 year the charger stopped working due to the pins getting stuck and their customer service sent a new one right away at no cost.

Now I don't have to reheat my morning cup of coffee in the microwave. This Ember keeps two cups at the right temperature all morning long. I have to remember to place it on the charger each night so it is fully charged in the morning.

I like the cup but it is a bit on the heavy side. The concept is great and it does keep my coffee warm. The coffee comes out of my Kuerig at 156 degrees, which must be about normal but the highest setting for the cup is 145. I don’t think I get the full 90 minutes of battery life with the setting at 145. It’s a great concept, I just wish it could keep my coffee hotter.

The app is very easy to setup. Works well and keeps coffee warm. Only con is it isn't dishwasher safe.

Absolutely awesome to keep at the desk. Keeps temperature exactly how i like it. The battery is nice for not placing it directly on the base all the time but nothing else - runs out in 40 minutes or less. Bluetooth connection is iffy at best, but i rarely change settings. Wish it would have the controls on the mug itself.

I've had my Ember for about 2 months and use it everyday! As someone who always has to get up and leave their desks, it can take up to 2 hours for drink my coffee. I would normally come back to lukewarm coffee which no one likes. Now my coffee is always at the right temperature. The one drawback is that the battery only lasts about 80 minutes and at which point it stops heating. Not that big of a deal for me as I have the charger right on my desk, but if your charger is not near by that might be an issue.

Gave this as a gift to my wife who loves having her coffee hot. Normally she would set her coffee down and when she got back to it, it wouldn't be hot enough. This would cause her to microwave her coffee 4-5 times. With the Ember, she places it on the charging coaster (which keeps it going continuously) and she can sip away all morning long.

The Ember mug works well for tea, and there is a setting for green tea, which is what I normally drink in the morning. The mug keeps the tea at the temperature that I prefer all day. Without the charging base, the battery goes out in about an hour, so I keep the base plugged in and the mug keeps the charge all day. One negative is my Android phone does not keep the blue tooth connection.

I bought this for my wife 2 months ago. She drinks her coffee rather slow and it always got cold before. Now using the Ember Mug, she easily controls the coffee temperature via her iPhone. Now it never gets cold! She only uses it once a day (morning), so she has never ran out of battery life while drinking. I would recommend the large mug, she usually makes a cappuccino with 2 shots in it and it’s barely big enough. I would have regretted getting the small one.

Expensive, but it does exactly what it promises. I was able to buy mine in the BB sale, despite wanting one for months just couldn't justify full price. Super easy to set up and the phone app lets you monitor progress and status. Value for money - depends on your point of view, but keeping your hot drink hot - brilliant!!!
