Failed after a year, 3 days out of warranty

One of the spring loaded pins in the coaster has had it's spring fail, causing it stay recessed & not make contact with the mug. Really disappointed with the timing of this failure, 3 days after warranty expiration. $40 for a new coaster. My wife does love it for her tea.

I love the mug and it’s the perfect solution for me. It’s just the charging coaster that keeps failing since the two little pins get stuck. Ember has replaced it twice but I worry what will happen in 2 months when the mug is out of warranty.

    Ember vs. Yetti Mug

I had been wanting one of these mugs for quite some time. Couldn’t justify the full price but finally bought one on sale. I’m definitely a bleeding edge technology person so the technology was very appealing. Ideally, technology should make your life better and easier, not more complicated. Unfortunately, the Ember mug had a few short comings that ultimately made me return it. I felt the quality was certainly there, but the functionality wasn’t better enough to replace my yeti mug. Here are a few things that the Ember fell short fir me. Hopefully the makers will consider these in their next generation of mugs. 1. The mug was too small. Most of the people interested in this mug will be heavy coffee drinkers and will probably drink more than the small amount this cup offers. By the time you drink the coffee out of the small size, you really don’t even need to keep it heated. No doubt, although the Ember would beat out a readitional non insulated mug, however the yeti cups (with closable lid) keeps beverages hot just as long as the Ember and better. I say better because with a heating element in place, as you get diwn to the final quarter cup, the coffee becomes visibly “cooked” and tarnishes the taste. Especially eith creamer. That doesn’t happen on a yetti. 2. The battery doesnt last long enough. Since the embrr is small, most people are going to have two maybe even 3 cups of coffee with it. The battery last for the first cup, but runs out of juice the second cup or third cup. I understand you can put it on the charging stand, but that’s not always possible when you have a lot of meetings to go to or stopping into other peoples offices to chat . Again, the Yetti (with a lid) wins out. 3. convenience - the embers app is very well-made, but it’s an extra step and after a while gets tiresome to go to. Not a big deal as you dont have to use it after its set up. 4. Longevity -the Ember is probably good for 2 to 3 years. After that the battery should be toast or brgin to diminish. I don’t think there’s a way to replace the battery. I’ve had yeti cups for 10 years and still going strong. 5. Simplicity. The ember is not dishwasher safe. The yetis definitely win out here. 6. Cost - Even on sale, I can buy two or three yetis for the price of one Ember. 7. The Amber doesn’t come with a lid. The yetis do. 8. The yetis work far better in a car. Sumnary: even though I’m both a coffee snob and bleeding edge technology enthusiast, the Ember ultimately became an inconvenience to use compared to a simple yeti cup. Even if the prices were the same between the two, I think I would go with the yeti just for the ultimate convenience and similar performance of keeping beverages hot. Just my two cents.

A Nice Cup For The Right Purchaser

An interesting, but not necessary device, I never have a cup of coffee sit long enough to get cold, but ny wife does, The cup size could be larger. A bike purchase for folks. Who let their coffee or tea sit for extended periods of time, I am not a fan of the trend of having to use an app for everything (But you can use the mug without the app.)

I love my Ember mug. Is it expensive? Absolutely. Is it for everyone? Absolutely not. The app for iPhone is hit or miss, but allows you to set the colored light on the bottom as well as temperature preference. It tops out at 145 degrees which is plenty hot for me, I actually dialed it back to 140. This mug has mediocre battery life which is offset by a few factors, specifically sleep mode and the charging coaster. First, the mug can detect liquid inside and will not heat if it is empty, saving battery and allowing you a few cups full before having to charge up. For charging, the included coaster charges up quickly and allows you to keep your drink warm effectively indefinitely, which would be ideal for office workers and other more stationary tasks. It charges up quickly, I only wish the coaster connected via USB instead of a proprietary connection. The mug is IP67 and very easy to clean by hand and warm water. Just be sure to fully dry off the rings on the bottom before charging.

I never realized how much the coffee drinking experience could have been improved with this cup. To pour a cup and get lost in work only to return and find the beverage the same perfect temperature (to the last sip) is heavenly. It literally puts a smile on my face every time. A start reduced for a a few reasons: - This color only comes in 10 ounces... I'd like to have it in a 12-ounce size. - The Android connectivity (or lack there of leaves a bit to be desired. Luckily once you set desired temperature in the mug you don't have to futz with it anymore. - The battery could be longer than 90 minutes. Sometimes I take a meeting away from the charger on my desk and the battery runs out... Then you really miss the experience

Like most of us these days, I am working from home and using coffee cups instead of travel mugs. Naturally, I am a slow drinker, and I hated that my coffee would always get cold before I could finish it. Then I found the ember 10 oz mug. I'll admit, the price is high, BUT, for me, it has ended up being well worth the price. Ever since buying this mug, I have finished my coffee and teas without any waste. For me, the less than desirable battery life doesn't bother me. Because I work from a desk, I am able to leave the cup on the charging pad which will keep my drinks the perfect temperature all day. If I don't have the mug on the charging pad, I am able to get over an hour of 140 degree coffee or tea. I liked this product so much that I ended up buying one for my mother as a gift and will likely buy the travel mug in the near future.

    Definitely a smart mug

I received this mug as a gift, and it's perfect. I paired it with the app, which can be a little glitchy, but not a complete waste. You can control how hot you want you coffee, up to 145 degrees. Also, if you share your mug, or have the same color, you can customize the LED color to identify who the cups belongs to. You cannot microwave your cup, but honestly, I have poured in cold creamer and waited for my coffee to get hot just to experiment. It's neat. And if you pair the mug with the app, you can choose which temperature to maintain your coffee. I charge the cup after using it, and will simply take the cup with me to my home office for a few hours. Battery life away from the base depends on the maintained temperature. Overall, I love this mug, because it's not your typical mug plate where you have to keep the mug on the base. You can also wash the mug, but not keep it submerged in water, I recommended immediately washing it, or if you don't have time, fill with regular water to soak, turn off the base, and clean it later. Again, just don't submerge it or it will ruin your cup. All this is in the nifty packaging it comes with! I would recommend as a gift, buying it for yourself or to impress your guests.

    Ember mug review

The Ember Electric Mug is a remarkable innovation for those who take their hot beverages seriously. This smart mug allows you to set and maintain your preferred drinking temperature, ensuring that your coffee, tea, or other hot drink is perfect from the first sip to the last. The build quality is excellent, with a sleek, modern design that fits well in both home and office environments. One of the standout features is the Ember's battery life, which is sufficient for a morning's worth of hot beverages. The charging coaster is a smart addition, keeping the mug powered throughout the day. The accompanying mobile app enhances the experience by allowing remote temperature control and customization. However, the price point might be a bit steep for some, and the mug requires regular cleaning to maintain its functionality. Also, its reliance on technology means it might not be as straightforward to use for those who prefer a simpler mug. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Ember Electric Mug is a luxurious, high-tech solution for anyone looking to keep their drinks at the perfect temperature.

If you're a slower coffee drinker like me, this is the perfect solution for keeping your coffee warm or hot the entire time. I usually sip on my coffee for an hour (sometimes more) and this cup does a great job at keeping it hot. You can set the temperature you want in the smart app and the cup will do everything for you. Easy to clean and return to the charger for later or the next day. I liked it so much that I purchased one for my son to drink his hot chocolate during the winter.

The Ember Temperature Control Smart Mug has significantly upgraded my daily routine. I'm giving it four stars for its remarkable performance and innovative design. This mug's sleek and durable build, coupled with its intuitive app, made setup effortless. It keeps my beverages at the ideal temperature for extended periods, allowing me to savor every sip without rushing. The battery life is impressive, ensuring multiple hot drinks throughout the day, although a larger capacity would be appreciated for longer sessions. Overall, the Ember mug is a game-changer, delivering on its promise of a perfectly heated drink. Despite the minor capacity limitation, its performance and design make it a worthy addition for anyone seeking beverage perfection. Highly recommended!

Many hot beverages taste surprisingly different at even slightly different temperatures. This mug allows you to find your ideal temperature and it will keep it there for you. The iOS app needs work, but is functional if you can figure out the quirks. Overall I love this mug. If it becomes lost or stolen I will buy a new one immediately.

I was given one of these a gift, and like it. My daughter expressed interest and since she has a birthday right after Xmas I thought I would get one for her. I'm not one to gulp down my coffee so I like that it keeps it warm for about 1 hour, without needing to be on the charging pad. Wish it were a little larger capacity. 10 oz seems skimpy. Battery life could be a bit longer. I wish it lasted 2 hours (I solve this by using the charging pad as a coaster) I've dropped this cup several times and it survives well. I think this should be about 1/2 the price

Great coffee mug. I bought this because I’m always getting busy at school and forget my coffee until it’s cold. There is a bit of a learning curve and the instructions aren’t great, but after a bit of trial and error I got it down. If I did it over again, I’d opt for the 14 oz. mug instead of the 10. My Keurig is set for 10 oz servings and it fills the Ember mug pretty close to the top which makes it too easy to spill if you arent super careful. All in all, I would recommend getting one, regardless of size.

This mug is great to keep things warm. It doesn’t seem to hold a charge as long as it says—maybe good for two mugfuls before recharging. Also consider getting the 14 oz. The 10 oz may be a bit small, depending on how much a person usually drinks
