Has multiple drawbacks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It does keep your beverage hot for the brief period that the battery lasts or if you are at a desk and keep it on the charger. What I don't like is the short battery life. It can't charge while keeping the coffee hot so if you set it on the charger with a dead battery, it will still be dead 30 minutes later when you walk off with it. The popup lid is garbage and can break in a weeks time. The sipping lid is ok but doesn't prevent spills and when drinking, you have to remember to line up the opening with your mouth or you will be wearing your drink. This gets me when I swap between lid types.

It was exactly what he wanted. The sad thing is this item was delivered on my doorstop not even in a discreet box so my husband saw his Christmas gift. I’m not sure why this item was delivered the way it was during the holidays but I will never order another Christmas gift from Best Buy. This ruined the surprise I had planned. Very disappointed.

My insulated non-electric travel mug does a better job without battery power, with it's better insulation. Nicely built, just doesn't work too well, and for the price I expected much more. If you want to warm your hands it is great, as some of the heat warms the outside of the mug. If you want hot coffee, forget it.

Lid issue

I was really looking forward to this item. The temperature gage worked, charging station was good. If they can figure out another way to hold the lid open while you drink I would purchase again. Will wait until they work all the kinks out.

Quality Control Issues

Additionally, the lid quickly reached a point of an incomplete seal, as if the grooves were stripped, and we'd never washed the lid except by hand.

Thanks for the feedback. The Travel Mug² is designed to not only keep your beverage hot, but at the exact temperature you desire for an extended period of time. The battery life will depend on pour temperature as well as desired drinking temperature but you can expect up to 3 hours.

Works great with a major flaw.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a very hard time reviewing this product poorly, it works, keeps coffee hot, if you get a charger for your car it is awesome. The issue I have is that the lid stopped working and broke dropping small pieces of plastic into my coffee. The mechanical design is not robust enough to last long and there are internal lid components that are impossible to clean. Considering the $200 retail price that is unacceptable. If this were a $30 travel mug then it would be different. Customer service at Ember is sluggish, I am not sure what the hold up is, this is simple. Ok, if you get the other style of lid everything works fine, spectacular, but that $15 lid cost as much as some perfectly functioning travel mugs I own. Ember, redesign your lid ASAP, it is your achilles heal.
