Ive picked up some generics, but they last a month to six months. Energizer brand will generally get me close to a year before needing to swap it out. Energizer really does outlast competitors.

I just installed the fourth one after a couple years, and it works great. It also has a bitter coating to keep children and animals away from them.

Of course, the remotes needed new batteries. So while at Best Buy, picking up a few items, I grabbed the Energizer 4 pack batteries. Even though we only needed 2 batteries, it was a good price to grab the 4 pack.
