This is what you want for your electronics. Although the are a bit more in cost they last longer and provide the true power needed. The rate of discharge is more consistent over the life of the product.

For the outdoor enthusiast, backpacker, hiker, there is nothing worse than dead batteries in the field. If you can afford to carry the bulk and weight of extra batteries, by all means stuff spare alkaline cells in your pack. But if you head out with only the batteries contained in your flashlight, GPS, etc., it would be wise to ante up and use lithium cells. Garmin GPS units run for barely more than a day (sunup to sundown) on alkaline cells. The last thing you need is for your unit to die when you need to use the recorded track of your journey to get back to camp. I've had this happen, but I was fortunate to be somewhat familiar with the area. Hopefully the price will come down on lithium cells, but paying approximately double for these batteries yields double the energy, so it is still worthwhile where your electronics _must_ perform.
