This laptop does everything it's supposed to do! I was able to play Doom at mid settings with zero lag. Trying to push it to 1080p at 60fps bogs down heavily. However, for a laptop that I can plug my xbox controller in and play fortnite on the flight to Austin it is amazing. The touch screen is responsive but I notice the transition from laptop mode to tablet mode is a bit cumbersome because it is simply so large. Holding the fifteen inch laptop up to twist it in and out of tablet mode is a real chore. Especially on a small plane. Netflix works great. Windows ten works well. Steam is great in big picture mode. Screen looks great but can be a bit glossy in the sun. Battery life is sufficient. Charging is a breeze and is very fast. Light up keyboard is great for those late night Netflix binges on the beach. Can withstand the weight of a jack russell standing on it. Great laptop over all. Better that the surface book.

I was looking for a laptop that I could use to do school work on but also that was powerful enough to do some minor gaming. This laptop is great for both. It is fast, click on an icon and within a second the program is opening up. So far I have only played Starcraft on the Laptop and i have not seen any lag. The laptop is fast for gaming but also affordable enough if you just want it to do school work on. I do not usually use the touch screen because i do not like to get my screen dirty, but once I buy the HP Pen I will most likely use the touch screen more often.

First of all, I am reviewing this as a long time Intel and HP user.
I may be overly critical on this laptop, but it has so much potential to be great. Overall though, I would still say this is a decent value laptop and recommend to a friend
My old laptop was also in the envy series from 2015. It costed much more than this x360 I have now. Now coming from an old HP I know their laptops tend to have cooling issues, but still decided to give it a shot. My old one had a fan bearing gone bad, and it started buzzing which is annoying. Now with the x360, I tried listening as closely as I could to the fans, and I could track a trace of that buzz. So I do expect that I may have to replace the fans at some point.
I've seen a lot of complaints with the touch pad. I do agree with that. However, after getting the driver and some getting used to, if actually got a lot better, and I have no issue with it. The touch screen is quite decent so kudos for that.
Now the exciting part, the AMD chip. I must say that as a long time Intel user, I am very excited to see some competition in the market. The Ryzen 5 is more than fast enough for the majority of tasks you through at it. Vega 8 is also great, but since I have a gaming PC I don't really have a need for it.
Now comes the sad part. The software is quite buggy, and the lack of support from AMD is quite apparent. They don't seem to be updating the drivers often enough to address the problems.
In short
Pros:
-powerful AMD Ryzen and its vega graphics
-a pretty design I must say
-good touch screen
-I do like the keyboard
Neutral:
-ok battery life, def not 10 hours as listed in the specs though
Cons:
-a bit heavy
-touch pad takes getting used to
-poor thermals, potential fan replacement needed
-buggy software
-hinge could be stiffer
Alternatives:
-XPS is probably the best if you can afford it.
-I do not recommend 13inch version of this laptop

Received a great deal on this laptop. Speed is perfect, touch screen is state of the art.
Tablet mode is difficult to personalize at first, but when you get the hang of it.. MARVELOUS.
I use the laptop for my business; creating websites, managing 8 social media accounts, yelp google, and 7-10 more sites constantly and never have a problem!
Plus, the speakers are Really Clear! Love this!

I have really enjoyed my HP Envy. The display is good, it starts up quickly, and it's reasonably bug-free. I don't use the touch screen functionality much, but it works when I need it. I also use it mostly as a straight laptop and rarely flip it around and use it like a tablet. My favorite feature is the backlit keyboard, which is very easy to turn on/off. I've had it over a year and it still is quite responsive. It was definitely worth moving up to this laptop over one of the really inexpensive models. The only thing I have disliked about its design is that it comes with little rubber strips on the bottom to keep it from sliding around on a smooth surface. The glue on these strips is terrible and they started coming off within weeks. I spent several months trying to superglue them back in place before I finally gave up and just pulled them off. Overall, it's a minor complaint and I would recommend this laptop to a friend.

This laptop has ran smooth since the day I got it back in June. I run adobe product and can play games with no issues. The laptop does get a little hot when heavy use but i mean, its a laptop. The light HP keyboard is great and it does not feel cheaply made. The battery is decent,I would recommend it.

I needed a new laptop but had no idea what to buy. I went to my local store and the sales girl helped me determine what was good for my needs. I’ve had the laptop for almost two months and couldn’t be happier. It’s fast. It’s lightweight and I love the touch screen. Great purchase.

I got it as a open box laptop so that's why I see some scuffs but not noticeable, overall a great laptop, clear screen & touchscreen, the light on it is a little bit too dark but really dont mind, heavy for your usual laptop, great battery life

I use this for everyday tasks. instagram and facebook work very well as an app. I play games such as League of legands on here. Great touch screen. Can be slightly heavy at times because its a 15" screen and i carry it around like a tablet.

I have only had the computer for a couple of weeks, so it is taking a bit of getting used to from my old one. I love the touch of the keyboard and it is very fast. I haven't used any of the more advanced features yet, so can't comment on those.

Graphics are great, does everything I need it to do and more at a fraction of the cost of Intel. The reason I give this a 4/5 is because, when gaming, the fan gets very loud and the laptop gets warm (just warm, not hot). I did not play anything crazy, just Sims4. I did not like is that it is advertised as a hybrid laptop for occasional gamers, when in reality downloaded would overwork this laptop very quickly. If you game occasionally (downloaded content) then go for a Ryzen7 if you want to stay in the AMD family.

This replaces a 17.3 laptop that’s warn out. I wanted a touch screen and tablet mode available. This hit the spot for both and is a great size at 15.6. It’s much lighter and looks very nice. Speed is good and solid state is very quiet.

I use my pc for teleworking, surfing the web and playing Mahjong and Freecell. With that in mind, this laptop exceeded my expectations as far as speed goes. I've never owned one this fast. I turn it off now because powering it up is so fast, it's no longer an issue. I'm guessing it's due to the SSD drive. My previous laptops did not have one and I will not own another laptop without one. I love the backlit keyboard. I ordered a silicone cover to keep dust out. I've always owned an HP laptop and as much as I liked my last one, it made noise when it was "thinking" and the fan was loud. I finally got a fan error which is why I bought this one. I was able to replace the fan but I'm using this one because it's so much faster. This thing is sleek, quiet, and fast.

Great computer. My daughter loves it. The only downside is the storage. 128gb not enough at all. Out of the box there is less 100gb. For now got the 128gb USB3.1 flash drive for $30 so easy upgrade. And she can actually play her WOW out of the flash drive.
