Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the ENVY Desktop's performance, ease of use, and the inclusion of both a solid state drive and a hard drive, resulting in fast boot times and ample storage. Many appreciate its quiet operation and powerful processing capabilities. However, some users expressed concerns about the placement and build quality of the CD/DVD drive. The overall consensus points to a powerful and user-friendly machine with a minor drawback in the optical drive design.

Finding an open box tower with 1 Terabyte of Memory and 16 GIGS of RAM with a solid state memory cache as well might very well be the find of the season! This computer is nearly as fast as my 2011 HP Work Station I currently use in my video editing bay - I could EASILY slip this into my editing bay and it wouldn't skip a beat. The sales consultant told me they rarely if ever get such a wicked machine into the store, and that this one was a online purchase for which the consumer wasn't ready for its connections. Instant access in microseconds for the internet, Microsoft 365, and any and all of my software products I've downloaded on it since purchase. I couldn't be more happy with the computer. Time will tell, but I am a fan of Intel, and the i7 is blazing compared to any AMD product I've ever used. The computer this replaced had an AMD, and died on us after about 6+ years of heavy use, but the last two years it was ridiculously slow, even after defrags and non-used SW was removed. Now it's time to get us a Companion WiFi product to match these speeds! And this baby is really quiet - to the point you doubt it is actually on! I know everything is going to all in one's with just a touch screen monitor - but if you come across this sucker, even at retail of $949.99 [as an open box I paid 727.97], and you do any gaming, video editing, or advanced SW, I'd give this one a whirl!

A great computer with plenty of memory, speed and solid state ram. CD drive is cheesy like something left over from a lap top. There are plenty of USB ports, 3.0 and HDMI for multiple monitors. This computer has no trouble keeping up with multiple tasks.

After researching and reading the reviews I could not pass up such a solid computer. The I7 processor is beyond compare. The Solid state C: drive allows for almost instant program loads and blinding speed. Movie Rendering is beyond comparison due to 16 GB of memory, i7 processors and fast Hard Drive. This computer is absolutely the quietest computer I have ever purchased in my life. I highly recommend this computer for anyone that wants to run applications that are processor, and memory intensive. The Gigabit Network card will increase your internet speed also. It will surpass your expectations.

Great Machine. Fast..Plenty of storage and memory capability. I'm using for editing home videos. Done a great job. Only setback is the terrible location, capability and overall very cheap construction of the DVD drive. I would recommend adding an external DVD Drive.

It has everything a non-gamer would need. As advertised, the solid state hard drive does seem to boot up Windows 10 and other programs faster than a conventional drive (the unit does have a 1TB conventional drive for user files). I can't tell how fast the machine really is because we are getting slow download speeds from our AT&T Internet service, and have had Carbonite uploading files from two computers, using up bandwidth. I like that it has six USB inputs and runs quietly.

Bought this to replace my 7 year old HP desktop. This has all the bells and whistles- the latest generation i7 processor, 16GB ram, combination SSD and HHD for fast startup and shutdown. It runs quietly, smoothly and fast. Love it!

I really shopped this computer out. After using Dells at my work for years and dealing with their continual breakdowns and unreliability, I have forever been steered to anybody BUT Dell. I've had very good luck with HP. This is a great computer! More power than most require. I primarily surf the web, manage small Excel spreadsheets and email. I'm also using this PC to edit old home movies-which by the way it has already been doing a stellar job with. Long way to go yet so we'll see how it continues to perform. I would recommend this computer to just about anyone.

I needed an updated computer. Using windows 10 is different from my windows 7 laptop but it is much faster and the graphics are really sharp even though I am using the same monitor. I am able to use the updated Microsoft Publisher with this computer and produce Power Point presentations quicker.

The first one I received did not work properly, but I returned it and am very pleased with the computer. Only negative was the very small keyboard, which I replaced with a generic version.

This is a fast computer for the money it is easy to set up and use. The only thing I did not like is the DVD CD drive is on its side and is very flimsy and inconvenient.

I turned the computer on and was up and running after just a few questions about how I wanted my passwords etc. My logon screen is almost instantaneous, less than 15 seconds I would say. A little confusion about my printer driver, but I rebooted and everything has been fine since. Very quiet as opposed to my last computer, I would guess that that is because of the 256GB SAN disk, great idea BTW! I am using my 25" HP HD monitor with the HDMI connection.

Machine is quiet. Fastest response time ever. It starts up fast, thanks to the Solid State drive. I like that concept. The DVD player seems a little clumsy but it works well.

Great HP tower. No problems with anything on it except CD player is very delicate, and I'm afraid it will break eventually. But, all other components are GREAT and it has 6 or 7 USB ports for various items to be plugged into it. VERY quiet compared to my old machine. Windows 10 is great, though takes a bit of getting used to if you're not used to it. Transferred everything over from my old hard drive no problem.

Fast boot-up, no bloatware, easy set-up; minor annoyances include poorly located front USB ports (facing backwards), flimsy CD tray.
