I was amazed at the ease of setup. I was printing from my smart phone, computer and tablet within a few minutes of unpacking the printer from the box. I have not signed up for the automatic ink program yet. My printing needs are so minimal. I love this printer and I highly recommended it for anyone needing a new HP printer.

It does the job so well on each of these types of needs. The app makes it simple to use, my phone connects to it easily, and its a great printer to tuck away anywhere in the house as its wifi-connected.

Would be 5 stars if there was a screen on the printer that you could use to scan etc. There is a "screen" with symbols but they aren't very clear.

The instructions are inadequate; printer holds a small amount of paper; paper jams frequently; error codes not easily understood. The only quality that is worthy of a star is that the printer prints quietly.

I can certainly understand why inadequate instructional materials, confusing error codes, paper jams and dissatisfaction with the paper capacity would add up to a poor start to ownership. I want to help you remedy the problems at hand and learn more about the device so you can get the most from it. I hope you’ll use the resources below to make that happen.
First, from your review it seems like the jams are occurring at the document feeder. If so, I recommend you follow the steps in this guide to feeders that pull through too many pages at once or fail to pick up paper at all:

It Works Well

I didnt realize there was to LCD screen on this model and it took a while to get used to that. Essentially it forces you to use the software.

It took me roughly 15 min to set it up straight out of the box & it was super easy! Downloaded the app to my laptop, my cell, & my hubby’s cell at the same time. Bonus- it comes with this ink plan/ink with it in the box. I didn’t realize how much I print until I had this printer so I did have to up my ink plan. It is still way cheaper then what I was paying for ink monthly & fighting with my old printer. It was easy to change the plan & it let me backdate it to the current plan month so there are no overages. If you’re not sure of how much you’ve used the app can tell you so you can keep an eye on it/adjust as needed.

Ink cartridges are a bit small though, so if you need to do a lot of printing every day, this may not be the printer for you.

I mean, they last FOREVER!! I use at office and work. The old printers are still going and the new printers will last!! You cannot beat that!! We really put our printers “through it” and they have never failed. Nothing worse than needing to print something and not having a reliable printer (so I hear)…because I never have to worry about it with HP.

My only complaint is that this printer does not support two-sided scanning from the document feeder-this is the only HP printer I’ve owned that does not offer that function. Otherwise would be 5 stars.
