I bought this printer because I got tired of constantly buying ink cartridges for my previous Epson printer. I'm generally satisfied; it functions just as expected and, most importantly for me, works with the Epson CD print program for cd booklet covers. One complaint: scanning photos to the computer is quite a bit more complicated than my previous unit.

Printer is definitely an upgrade from my older hp printer, the set up is a breeze but does take about 15 min as the ink has to charge. The prints come out a little dull in color so for photos would definitely recommend getting photo paper. Also its a top loader for paper, something I didn’t realize till it got here

Epson quality - 'nuff said. This printer is incredible.

I have never owned an epson printer before so I don’t have any other epson series to compare it to, but I have owned other brand printers and this is definitely right up there on my top favorites. It is very light weight and compact compared to my brother printer. It was easy to install and the directions were very easy to follow. I did not have any problems connecting it to my wifi which is always a plus. It takes about 10 minutes, alone, for the ink to charge. The rest was very fast. It comes with a cd to download the software to your computer or instruction online to download it that way if you laptop does not have a cd drive (which most do not have anymore). You dont necessarily need to do that to your phone or tablet, which is always great. As long as its connected to the same wifi as your printer, you are good to go. The printer has a quiet mode, which is awesome if you have your printer in the same room as your sleeping baby, which I do. So that comes in handy for night time printing when baby and hubby are asleep. It prints pretty quickly and the ink does not smear, which I think most printers now a days dont have smearing ink. The ink is supposed to last about 2 years which is pretty darn awesome! I used to spend so much money on ink with my old printer and that was ridiculous. The ink for the epson comes in pre-filled bottles that you fill into the ink tanks on the printer. It’s actually pretty neat. When you fill it up before charging the ink, you will still have some ink left in the bottle. When your done charging the ink, you can put the rest in because the charge does something that uses up some of the ink. The only thing about that, was the black ink didnt seem to reach the top like the other 3 colors, but I think that should be fine. It says that the printer is not made for photos, because there is not a paper setting on the printer itself to print photos, but I actually printed a few photos on non glossy paper and they turned out pretty good. Being able to print some pictures for scrapbooking or small projects that I do that I don’t need professional or even drugstore printed photos is always a bonus. The photos I used came from my phone and they were pretty clear, so I am happy with that. The only thing I don’t like is the paper tray insert is at the top so the paper is sticking out and its not inside a paper tray that goes inside the printer. I personally prefer that type of paper holder. It won’t take a lot of work to just insert the paper as I print so it doesn’t get wrinkly just sitting there, but that’s just me. Also, there is not a cord that connects the computer to the printer for any issues that may come up with connecting to your desktop (which I didn’t have), but just a heads up in case. It may be something you have to purchase separately. Other than that, I really like the printer and would recommend it.
