It is very loud and extremely hard to set up. Once you set up, it is golden. Ink is way cheaper than toner and drums

Great printer, poor scanner software

This is a great printer from a long-established company known for quality. The ink tanks are huge and make HP’s XL cartridges look small. Print quality is excellent and the dual side printing works very well (sides are aligned properly).
My only criticism of this all in one is the scanner software, which is clumsy and not very well thought out. The HP scanner software is far superior, so I keep an HP deskjet with auto feeder for scanning.

Replaced old Epson work force with Epson - EcoTank ET-3850 All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer. Easy setup using Epson app. Was able to print from all devices with no issue. Print quality is good. Liked concept of ink bottle (hope it will last for a long time).

Just like the old Epson, but much better because it has a tank for ink, so far it works great, I haven’t tried to print a picture yet, but I will before long

As a plain printer, this does a good job and doesn't use a lot of ink. As a copier, it does a TERRIBLE job! The copies, even on the best setting, look terrible - very blurry! Also, it looks like it has a double sided ADF but it does not. So frustrating. Overall, I needed to print about 1000 pages this month so it was worth it, but I wouldn't recommend this product for anything other than plain printing.

I had a Brother laser printer for years, but it finally started to give me trouble. I took the plunge with the Epson EcoTank primarily because I really liked the economical ink system and how much easier and CHEAPER it is in comparison to most of the HP printers I've had over the years. HP thinks their ink is liquid gold or something!
I also liked the ability to so easily feed a document into the feeder to make copies beautiful copies every time. The Brother laser printer I had didn't have that important feature.
I have the EcoTank printer connected to my HP desktop via Ethernet, but I also have it configured for easy Wi-Fi printing. It prints smoothly and quickly from my laptop and iPhone. But it's the really slick ink replacement system that makes the EcoTank machines really shine!

The printer and scanner work well, but using a Mac connecting each time takes work, opening the Epson app and searching the Epson connect. Even when the computer is hardwired to the printer it does not automatically print without opening and connecting each time with the Epson app. This is disappointing to say the least. The printer when it is connected works very well. It's the connecting that is overly frustrating.

First Epson (I had a top of the range canon that stopped working after a little over a year). Epson is very compact, pretty fast and very good quality. Big paper tray. Ink tanks make a lot of sense. Setup was really easy. Not cheap but it is an excellent printer.

The printer was easy to set up and the new features were exactly what we were hoping for. The Best Buy delivery was within a few hours and felt as close to shopping at the store as possible! Highly recommend both the product and the purchase through Best Buy

It has met all my requirements and was fairly easy to set up. It also prints card stock which one reviewer said it wouldn't. The print quality and color is fantastic. Copies of photos are excellent

so far, I LOVE this printer. It sets up more easily than any other printer I have owned. The ink loading was super simple, and unlike most printers, it connected to my network easily and worked first try. Fast printer, very acceptable quality. Love it so far.

The network setup went smoothly with no issues. I used a network cable to attach it to my router.
The EcoTank feature for filling the printer with ink is simple and pretty goof proof. It is bound to save money over time since all you have to purchase is ink to refill the ink tank. I also like the large paper capacity.
The only drawback I have experienced so far is that the LCD screen IS NOT a touchscreen. Seems like Epson missed the opportunity to have a super nice printer here since most printers in its category have a touchscreen. The printer that my new Epson 3850 replaced had a touchscreen. So, I find myself trying to use the LCD screen as a touchscreen instead of using the button panel to the right of the touchscreen. I will eventually get used to it, but a touchscreen should have been designed into this printer.
No real complaints. The Epson 3850 appears to be an excellent printer.

4 Stars are too few, but 5 Stars are too many. I gave it 5 because I could not give it 4.5.
It is a good printer & I do like the refillable tanks which are cheaper than the cartridges. I looked at Canon refillable printers too but they only 3 color tanks & not 4 like Epson. It prints, it copies, it scans. And although it prints double-sided documents, you must manually feed the back side of the document. A pain, but it is doable.
My last printer, an Epson, XP-7100 which I purchased in 2018, cost less than one-half the price & had better features than this printer such as auto feed of two-sided documents for scanning. It lasted more than 3 years until a broke it. Yes, I managed to break it, at least the auto feed for scanning & copying. Otherwise, it sill going strong. Hopefully this ET-3850 is as durable.

Love this printer! Ease of access, ink consumption and overall quality! Go get one and you’ll be happy with its performance all around. Not to mention that you won’t be running to the store every other week for ink!
