Works well for us so far

So many people complained online about the setup process. It took a little time and dealing with the Epsom app (I'm not an 'app' guy, either) wasn't exactly the way I'd like to do things but it went smoothly, step by step. No issue with finding and connecting our Wi-Fi. Prints quickly (enough) for our uses, made copies with the ADF, seemed to work well. Nice not having to buy cartridges, of course, and after sitting idle for about one week, didn't have to clean heads for a clear print (not yet, anyway). Complaints? Scanning an item has become burdensome. Ought to be able to lay it on the scanner bed and not have to open another app/program on a computer. Manufacture materials could be a little more stout; delivery tray and top pieces feel a little flimsy. Overall, I'll call it 'good'.

I pursued this item in April 2024. Great printed documents in color. However, a few days ago, printer stopped printing the right color. I am happy I purchases a warranty. Best Buy offered to have Technician to come out but will charge me. Oh no I don’t want a charge, I have a warranty. So, I have to take the printer to Best Buy to fix or get a replacement. Happy for the warranty! I hope this doesn’t happen again. Also, I thought the printer would be really quiet. It’s not bad but wish it was quieter. Otherwise, I recommend the printer. Happy I don’t have to pay for ink-it last. I hated my Brother printer due to the ink issue. I would not use color ink that much but, the printer sucked it up when I print. And when it went through a cleaning process, it took ALL my ink. Even if have black ink, you still need color ink just to print in black and white. Eco-Tank much much better!!!

Easy setup, easy directions. Print quality is very professional. Set up for wireless printing was also as easy as I have ever seen with a printer, and you do not have to have the device you're printing from in the same room as the printer, which is very nice.

I decided to go back to Epson printers after having bad experiences with HP printers recently. I like being able to print in color again! Yeah! Overall I'd say I am happy with the printer. I read another review mentioning to use the Epson Smart app to get around the issue of no double sided scanning with the document feeder. I do wish the software install was a little simpler when you've already installed the Epson apps form a different Epson printer. Basically I found I just needed to install the printer and scanner drivers

I am very pleased with the purchase of this Epson printer. I have save so much money on the purchase of ink. I am a graduate student and my preference is to print the articles that I read. Previously, I was constantly purchasing ink and fixing jams on the other printer that I owned. The jams have been very minimal on this printer and the purchasing of ink has also been very minimal. The print quality is fantastic!

Purchased this printer largely due to the more affordable eco-tank concept (vs cartridges). Quality of the prints is excellent. And the affordability of refill inks is significantly better than going the cartridge route. (An automatic firmware update to my previous HP printer, which was excellent, prevents use of generic cartridges…with no way to reverse the firmware update. So, I will NEVER, EVER purchase another HP product EVER again due to this highly unethical, and quite possibly illegal, HP tactic.) The ONLY gripe I have with this Epson printer is the lack of a touch screen to make a copy, change settings, etc. Instead, Epson has decided to design in a clunky keypad to copy, change settings, etc. A relatively minor ‘complaint’ in the scheme of things, but very disappointing to me for an otherwise excellent printer…it’s just annoying and irritating to have to waste time pushing buttons for the simplist of desired operations.

I've had this printer for more than a year now. I don't need it often, but when I do it's ready and has ink in it. Still on the originally supplied inks because there is just so much. My old printer would need new cartridges every three months, and they were expensive. Very low cost of ownership. I do like that it will print borderless photos, but they aren't fantastic quality. The colors are a bit washed out. But, it's good enough for most things, and when I need something better professional print services aren't very expensive. The scanner works great.

I had almost 2,000 pages of evidence (print & photos) to prepare for mounting a law suit. Print shops were draining $$$ me. I decided to purchase an Epson ET-3850 printer and ordered from Best Buy. I liked the features it offered, not big, bulky or heavy. It arrived quickly & my membership afforded Geek Squad to set it up the next day after it arrived. My GS tech paired it with my phone, was patient and walked me through everything I needed to know to correctly operate every function. It prints, copies singles as well as multiples and scans. Results of photos printed on gloss photo paper are clear, crisp, colors are accurate & looks so professional! Printer still looks new, is dependable, works perfectly ink installs easily and lasts forever! My Epson printer has saved me time and money and easy to operate. I LOVE it and would definitely recommend!

We had an HP all in one printer for many years. And that worked fine, until it didnt. I was not happy with having to spend roughly $75 to buy cartridges every so often. When the HP started to go bad I wasn't sure what to get. Research recommended a laser printer. But if you want color those can be very pricey. I then learned of this Epson where I could use ink bottles. That seemed like a good idea. Over the life of a printer you can spend ten times more for ink cartridges than the printer itself. What a racket! I've had this Epson for about a month. It was easy to set up and fill the ink reservoirs. I have printed a lot and so far the ink levels have not gone down much. Comparing the bottle of ink to those small HP cartridges, there is obviously a lot more ink in the bottles for less money. Print quality is very good and it is very quiet. Wi-Fi connetivity as well as direct wire connectvity are very easy to set up So far, we really like this Epson.

I purchased this printer when the time came around requiring me to find a replacement for my old HP Printer. I was at first hesitant about the "tank" aspect. I am totally happy with this new printer. I was initially looking at the 4850 model and after comparison shopping I found that this one was much better for my needs. Saved $100 by not getting the same printer with FAX. I have no home phone and don't send anything by FAX. Printer is not the fastest but the quality of printed material is exceptional. Ink refills are unquestionably less expensive! Very easy setup. Looks great on my desk.

Quick setup and excellent prints. More compact than its predecessor (Epson Artisan 835), more economical ink, and more prints per ink refill. On the downside, was more difficult than it should have been to connect to local WiFi and be found / recognized by our Apple devices. It wanted to look immediately for firmware updates and would not do so without being connected with USB to my iMac. The display screen is tiny and driven by arrow keys and an “OK” button (absolutely no touchscreen capability), so get ready to leap back in time to 1990.

    Love the double sided feature

I like how the printer has a built-in double sided feature and the scanner is seamless to the design. Be very careful with what you lay on top of the printer because the scanner attachment is quite thin. It does look a bit bulky but that is to be expected with an all-in-one (especially since this one does away with the ink cartridges). Overall, I like this printers print quality and ink chamber for transferring ink to the printer.

I really like this printer, I did a lot of research before purchasing it, including asking people what printer they used and what the liked, didn't like about their printers, etc. The Epson brand was the most popular brand mentioned. Look at the features you need and go from there. The tank ink system makes so much sense, definitely a money saver in the long run! I can print from my phone using the Epson App. Set up of the printer is a breeze. I have a high schooler who need to print every so often in addition to our own family printing needs. It is easy to use, intuitive, which really makes it nice. I chose to use wifi printing and all the computers in my home connected with the printer set up the first time. This printer does not take up a lot of space which is a real plus for where it is located in our home. I would recommend this printer to anyone.

This is a great printer. Easy to install and setup. The touch screen takes a bit to get used to, but this printer is fast. The scanner/copier works well as does the 2 sided printing. Adding ink was a breeze. The customer support is first rate. I also got the best price available. I highly recommend this printer.

If you print paper in bulk then this is the printer for you. I print about 500-600 sheets of paper a month (mind you it isn't black-and-white text paper - I am mainly printing colorful and dense photographs onto 40/lb presentation paper). My previous printer, the Epson 7100, had amazing print quality, but it was a complete ink-hog. I had it for a month and found myself spending over $300 solely on ink cartridges that month - double the price I paid for the printer itself. And this isn't even mentioning the fact that I was using third party ink which was about 30% of the price of Epson's official ink (and the best part is that Epson loves to automatically update the software to make third-party inks incompatible. All this is to say that this new printer in terms of its efficiency is amazing. I buy the official ink refills because for the amount of paper you can print for their price, it is actually worth it and then some. I will likely be saving myself thousands of dollars as well as not having to deal with the messy process of using cartridges. Yes, it lacks a touch screen, but how often are you really using the screen on the thing? And it also looks and feels dirt cheap, but again who actually cares about the aesthetics of a printer? Now, I've only had it for a month so I can not speak on its ability to hold up to my high-volume printing long-term. I am hoping my total tech insurance will be able to keep those issues at bay. Also - the print quality is definitely not as great. It took me nearly 2 hours to calibrate my settings in AirPrint to get the colors as close as I could get to my previous printer. This printer out of the box just does not get there in terms of color accuracy. Colors are washed, completely off in the reds and blues, and just come out horrendously. But luckily spending a few hours printing out test photos until I could land on the best settings has helped for this issue. For me, these drawbacks are barely anything when compared to the sheer amount of savings I will be able to have by just having this. The ink feels infinite when compared to my previous Epson which would require a refill thrice a week. And for that, it is worth it. Also, the scanner is awful. If you need an ADF then look elsewhere or just get a third-party one. If you print a lot...get this....or any ink tank printer for that matter...and do NOT look back. Do NOT get persuaded by that printer with slick black plastic, or a touch screen, or cool gimmicks.

I got tired of paying for high price ink cartridges for my old HP printer. It would not have mattered if it was a printer that uses ink cartridges made by HP, Canon, Brother, Epson... they are all the same. Ink is way too expensive. I like the supertank printer and the cost-effectiveness of bulk ink. I will never go back to a cartridge type printer. I have owned this printer for over a year, and would buy it again.
