Great Printer So Far

This printer replaced a several years old Workforce 520 that was great but was starting to give me trouble. I really like this new printer and think the EcoTank system will save money in the long run. Setup was somewhat convoluted as I needed to connect directly to my iMac (new M4) with the special Epson USB cable that I had fortunately kept from my old printer. I did try setting this up via wifi but for me this did not work (after getting it setup on the network others are able to easily "find" and connect). The print quality is very good and so far I am pleased with the purchase.

my family loves this printer, having a teenager going to college and using the printer for homework and school work helps me save money on ink. the second reason I really love this printer is that it has been so easy to work with, other printers would not stop working at crucial times. the Ipson-eco tank ET-3850 is a game changer, I even bought a second one. Thanks

Excellent printer and easy to use. The ink last for a very long time. I bought this product almost a year ago and will have to replace the ink in about 3 months. Offers the option to print on both sides for less paper waste

It's a great product...when you can get it to work correctly. For me, that's only about half the time I'm trying to print something. I like that it prints on both sides of the paper and that the screen will walk you through several processes if you need help. On the other hand, it jams often, it needs cleaning just about every time it's used, and is very finicky about connecting to household devices.

Just the savings in ink alone in the first month makes me wish I had purchased one of these sooner. So far I have printed over 500 color pages and it doesn’t look like the ink levels have even moved. This printer was also extremely easy to setup and I love the fact I can email something to it from anywhere and it’s printed out and waiting on me when I get home. I’ve even started having other people email documents I need to print and sign to it.

Bought this Epson printer to replace a HP Officejet pro.
Although I’ve only used it for a couple of months, I think the Epson is better than the HP.
Set up was relatively easy.
Ink capacity seems huge.
Physical foot print is small and the printer is attractive.
Printing (wireless) works well as doe Air Print.
Scanning is also vey easy to use.
Copying works well, BUT there is no tough screen. You need to use buttons.
Printer was not cheap (initial cost) though. I’ll need to evaluate life cycle costs later as I expect the ink cost will be low.

Economical solution to ink cartridges

I got tired of paying for high price ink cartridges for my old HP printer. It would not have mattered if it was a printer that uses ink cartridges made by HP, Canon, Brother, Epson... they are all the same. Ink is way too expensive. I like the supertank printer and the cost-effectiveness of bulk ink. I will never go back to a cartridge type printer. I have owned this printer for over a year, and would buy it again.

Just set this up today! Set up was easy using mobile device to walk through the steps. This is my 2nd Epson EcoTank (when I moved I left my other with a relative because I wanted the ADF (auto document feeder) for multiple documents. This does not disappoint. I had my previous ET 2850 for over 3 years and only replaced the ink bottles 1 time. And the price was reasonable for the ink. Thank god for Epson for making my life less stressful, especially with 2 teens in high school using the printer all the time.

In my experience, there are certain items that are worth paying a premium for. A good printer is one of them. My previous printer had been a entry price point printer from Canon. I have nothing bad to say about the brand, but you get what you pay for. I had continuous problems maintaining a WiFi connection, and the experience was poor overall. Over the lifetime of the printer, I spent way more on cartridges than the printer itself. I was just waiting for the thing to die, so I could buy a proper printer.
After buying this Epson, the immediate out of the box experience was so much better, and the build quality difference was obvious. Set up takes a bit of time to get the ink tanks all filled, but the whole process is guided by an app or the display on the printer. Getting the printer on the WiFi was very easy, and all of my families' computers recognized it instantly with no lengthy setup per computer. So far, I am so much happier with this choice than a bottom end printer.
Again, I have had three or four printers from Canon, so that was my first preference, but my mind was made up that I was done with buying expensive printer cartridges. When shopping for an ink tank printer, I did my research, and there is none better than the Epson. That is probably why Best Buy's offerings seen to guide customers that direction. So, the choice was clear on brand, and the only thing left was to decide which price point. Front paper tray? Document feeder? Those are just personal choices. Happy shopping.

This printer is excellent in printing, but scanning is more wonky than it used to be (and should be). Ever since Apple updated the Mac OS, I have to go into the applications folder to scan a document. While this does work, it is lengthier of a process than it should be. Hopefully, some day Epson will update the scanner software to work with the driver for this printer.

I bought this printer to use in my home office. I had used a different brand which NEVER really worked the way i wanted. I use the printer for scanning bills, receipts, and other documents into my computer, rather than saving paper. This printer has functioned properly from day one, whereas other brand required multiple hours with online support.
Printing and copying are excellent.
Still on my first tanks of ink, will see how that really works.

This is the best printer I've ever owned as a teacher! I'm still making copies on my first round of ink and I made two sets of centers, as well as printed a set of writing curriculum and centers for opinion, narrative, and informational. It's also very easy to use with my phone. After I take pictures of my students for their projects they are so easy to print!

Easy to set up, great ink reservoir with plenty of space, prints great, don’t need to constantly clean the print heads, easy to fill. My only complaint is it only scans around 6 sheets at a time, so if you have a lot of paper, you will need to be involved in the loading of the documents

This printer is everything that I asked for. Set up was a piece of cake. I have printed about 200 pages, most of which have lots of color. The amount of ink used has been minimal. I would have gone through more ink cartridges in my previous Canon ink jet printer than I could count... or afford. Granted the Best Buy store I purchased this from did not have any units for immediate take home BUT mine was delivered by noon the following day (the day before Thanksgiving) in a very small town in very rural Nebraska. Very Pleased with purchase. Clerk at the store was very knowledgeable and pleasant.

This has worked seamlessly for me steadily for the past year. I use it for the remote work that I do and have been very impressed. I had reservations about another ink printer after years of needing to replace them following periods of non-printing and the impact that made on dry and gunky cartridges. The ink is easy to refill and I can easily print from my computer or other devices connected to my WiFi. She gets the job done without Office Space frustration, which is how my relationship with most printers/scanners/copiers has been.

So far so good. I have used an Epson printer for many years and when I found out about the EcoTank ET-3850 system and the savings on ink, I decided to take the plunge and invest in one. Setup was easy and connecting through WIFI just as easy and being able to have the printer separate from the PC was ideal for sharing with a 2nd PC. Print quality appears acceptable for our home usage, although we haven't tried printing photographs since that was not our intended usage. Good value, small footprint and quiet to use. Go buy one, you will be pleased.
