Printer works great. I really like the feature of the ink tanks. That will definitely help with ink replacement. Setup was super simple.

I've bought 3 of these printers for a few of the offices I run. I really like it. The ink lasts sooooo long! It's easy to use and can run off WiFi. The only downside is that it's a little slow printing out multiple pages, but other than that it's been a great and reliable printer.

Affordable printing at last, with a tradeoff.

The ET-3850 delivers in its main promise - affordable inkjet printing, at last. It is a disruptive product in what had become a stagnate market segment.
In this new business model, the cost of designing and building a printer is recovered at purchase, rather than through ink cartridge purchases down the road. Contrast this to the HP ‘razor blade and razor’ model, which enticed many users, myself included, to eventually buy 3rd party ink cartridges that void your warranty.
The tradeoff here is that the ET-3850 is clearly built to a price point. Compared to the HP OfficeJet Pro printer it replaced in our home, it’s a lightweight. The functionality and economy are so good that this seems like a fair tradeoff, but there are some design elements that can seem cheap.
Among these are the front panel, a faux honeycomb that looks worse in white than it would in black, which is an option but does not seem to have hit the USA market yet. My unit (or units, I bought two) also had poorly aligned product labels, and issues with the online the product registration, which I had to work out with Epson by email and, eventually, by phone.
With that out of the way, let me tell you what Epson got right. The ink system is genius, from the large, keyed bottles that automagically stop filling when the tanks are full, to the transparent ink tanks that let you see how much ink is left. I did find it a little curious that the ink level in the ‘maintenance box’ (a $10 consumable item that captures any purged ink) is shown with a graphic that represents remaining capacity rather than fill level, which is the opposite of how ink levels are shown. Once you understand how this works it’s a non-issue.
The app you use to setup the printer works great and is a nice innovation. For those without a computer, this is very convenient. But it’s also a win if you will be connecting a computer or connecting this printer to your network, because it decouples the printer setup and any connecting issues you might have.
This is the step up model from the ET-2850, gaining a 250 sheet bottom feeding paper tray (vs. a 100 sheet rear tray), an auto document feeder, an Ethernet port, and faster printing. It runs $100 more than the ET-2850, which seems steep but was worth it to me.

Just the savings in ink alone in the first month makes me wish I had purchased one of these sooner. So far I have printed over 500 color pages and it doesn’t look like the ink levels have even moved. This printer was also extremely easy to setup and I love the fact I can email something to it from anywhere and it’s printed out and waiting on me when I get home. I’ve even started having other people email documents I need to print and sign to it.

It's a great product...when you can get it to work correctly. For me, that's only about half the time I'm trying to print something. I like that it prints on both sides of the paper and that the screen will walk you through several processes if you need help. On the other hand, it jams often, it needs cleaning just about every time it's used, and is very finicky about connecting to household devices.

Bought this Epson printer to replace a HP Officejet pro.
Although I’ve only used it for a couple of months, I think the Epson is better than the HP.
Set up was relatively easy.
Ink capacity seems huge.
Physical foot print is small and the printer is attractive.
Printing (wireless) works well as doe Air Print.
Scanning is also vey easy to use.
Copying works well, BUT there is no tough screen. You need to use buttons.
Printer was not cheap (initial cost) though. I’ll need to evaluate life cycle costs later as I expect the ink cost will be low.

This is the best printer I've ever owned as a teacher! I'm still making copies on my first round of ink and I made two sets of centers, as well as printed a set of writing curriculum and centers for opinion, narrative, and informational. It's also very easy to use with my phone. After I take pictures of my students for their projects they are so easy to print!

Easy to follow setup instructions. Wifi response time is a bit slow to respond, however once printing the quality is good. Happy with the purchase especially the ink life time compared with their competitors who soak customers with ink cartridge life and cost.

Just set this up today! Set up was easy using mobile device to walk through the steps. This is my 2nd Epson EcoTank (when I moved I left my other with a relative because I wanted the ADF (auto document feeder) for multiple documents. This does not disappoint. I had my previous ET 2850 for over 3 years and only replaced the ink bottles 1 time. And the price was reasonable for the ink. Thank god for Epson for making my life less stressful, especially with 2 teens in high school using the printer all the time.

The printer is used to print signs and fliers in color at a thrift store . It installed easy following the steps given . Ink is lasting longer than cartridges . The colors are not as vivid but fine for our use . Like the scanner . Nice small size

This replaced my PIXMA which I had for a long time and liked. This was less expensive and I like the ink refill system. I like that it is compact does duplex printing, prints quickly, has a feeder in addition to the flatbed scanner. I need to learn how to do a few more things yet but it seems reasonably intuitive.

Best printer for my needs! I love that it doesn't have the ink cartridges and can't wait to see if the ink lasts as long as it is supposed to. It prints faster than my old one and it is smaller and doesn't take up much room. The print quality is great! So far so good!
