Horrible printer. I had it for 1 week, then it started jamming consistently when I printed double sided. I went to Best Buy Geek Squad and they told me it was most likely an internal problem.

I bought this printer because I've had a similar model for four years and it's never given me any problems.
This one is a nightmare. Every three days I have to uninstall and reinstall it, download the drivers, and in short, every two days it gives me an error and doesn't print. A disaster.

Software had nothing but issues. You go to download the “bundle” Epsom provides on the website and it doesn’t allow the connection of a PC to the printer. I had to download each individual file and then it worked but to scan to the email on PC was a nightmare. I returned this item within 1 business day.

This is my first time owning an Epson printer. I was somewhat familiar with the brand, but I decided to research the company and learned that "Seiko Epson Corporation, commonly known as Epson, is a Japanese multinational electronics company and one of the world's largest manufacturers of printers and imaging-related equipment, headquartered in Suwa, Nagano, Japan."
The unboxing process was smooth, as the printer was very well-packaged. The printer's design is simple and unremarkable, giving it the appearance of a basic, no-frills model. The LCD screen is somewhat small, but navigating and selecting options on it was still easy and straightforward.
The supplied instructions were excellent, and I opted for the phone setup instead of the computer setup. The directions were clear, concise, and easy to follow. The initial setup involves manually filling the four ink tanks, a task that was quick, mess-free, and straightforward thanks to the eco-fit bottles, which made the process effortless. After initialization, I loaded the paper tray for test printing. The first page printed perfectly, but I encountered two paper jams on the subsequent test pages. Once cleared, the printing process was uneventful.
I use this printer solely for personal and home purposes. It has a large paper capacity (250 sheets) and delivers fairly quick printing in both black and white and color. In my opinion, it could also be used for a small office environment. It will print up to 18 pages per minute in the black and white mode and 9 pages in color. One outstanding feature of this printer is the capacity of the Eco Tank ink reservoirs which can print up to 6,600 pages of black and white and up to 5,500 pages of color. That in itself is a massive amount of printing! You also have scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. I printed wirelessly, and the output quality and results were amazing. Clean prints and color charts were vibrant and did not smudge. The printer is relatively quiet during its print routine.
The Epson Eco Tank 4950 printer is a decent all-in-one device. The look of the printer is simplistic with no excessive buttons and or controls. The printer has a compact footprint, making it easy to fit into both work and home environments. The functions are straightforward to use and navigate, and they are actually very simple by design. What I love the most is the wireless printing. Setup was flawless with my Microsoft Windows 11 based desktop computer. Hookup was quick and easy, and I am also able to print through my iPhone16 ProMax. I had to download the printer drivers onto my desktop computer before I could utilize the product. All you do is just follow some easy instructions and you are ready to print wirelessly.
PROS:
**** All-in one printer which copies, scans, prints and can fax.
**** Fast and easy set up.
**** Nice quality color and black and white prints.
**** No compatibility problems with my Windows11 operating system, and my iPhone 16 Pro Max.
**** WIFI capable.
CONS:
**** Access for paper jams is located in the rear of the printer. You must remove a panel; therefore, your printer should not be butted up against a wall. Cumbersome access to say the least.
Overall, I'm very happy with the printer. It's pretty quiet and handled all of my personal printing jobs with ease and operated as per the manufacturer's specifications. This printer can easy double for both home and small office use. The printer performed very well in my test usage. I didn't experience any paper-jams during my daily use, other than the initial paper jam during test printing. The output quality of this printer is great, with crisp clean prints being the norm. I definitely recommend this printer for your everyday print jobs. I was quite pleased with this product, and you should be also!

A good, flagship supertank printer

If you're tired of spending a small fortune on ink cartridges every few months, Epson's EcoTank ET-4950 might be the upgrade you’ve been looking for. As part of Epson’s 7th generation EcoTank lineup, this wireless all-in-one printer is designed for home offices and small businesses that print frequently. It offers high-capacity ink tanks, solid performance, and exceptionally low running costs. While the upfront price is higher than many consumer inkjets, the long-term value is hard to beat.
The ET-4950 uses Epson’s refillable supertank system rather than cartridges, which means fewer refills and significantly lower cost per page. Right out of the box, you get enough ink to print up to have a full 6000 pages. Replacement bottles are reasonably priced, and page yields are excellent, coming in at around 1.6 cents per page or less. This design I’ve enjoyed in the past, as the tanks don’t try up as fast, though the lines can get clogged if gone without use for a while.
Print quality is sharp and reliable, especially for documents. Black text is crisp thanks to pigment ink, and color prints are vivid and smooth. While casual photo printing looks good, the ET-4950 doesn’t offer the level of accuracy that professional photographers (myself included) may want to do any sort of printing from home. Small sizes, however, were of adequate quality.
In terms of speed, Epson claims 18 pages per minute in black and 9 in color under ideal conditions. I didn’t time the measures, but we certainly were good at printing a 30 page document in about a minute and a half. Epson’s PrecisionCore technology is supposed to eliminate warm-up time as well. The noise levels are lower than I am used to, which I was surprised about. It’s a dependable performer that doesn’t disrupt the room when it runs.
Feature-wise, it checks nearly every box. Wireless printing, automatic two-sided printing and scanning, fax support, and a 250-sheet paper tray all come standard. The 2.4-inch color touchscreen is compact but functional. Setup is quick through the Epson Smart Panel app, and the ink refill process is clean and foolproof thanks to keyed bottles and visible tank levels.
To offer a bit of context, the HP Smart Tank 7602 is Epson’s closest competitor in the same category. HP’s model has a slightly larger touchscreen and supports Bluetooth printing, and it offers a higher color page yield. However, Epson pulls ahead in print clarity, first-page speed, and quiet operation. While HP may appeal more to family users who do a lot of photo printing, the Epson ET-4950 remains a better option for high-volume document workflows.
Overall, the new flagship supertank from Epson is an excellent choice for anyone who wants dependable performance and long-term ink savings. It’s well suited to households or offices that print frequently and care more about document clarity than high-end photo reproduction. Quiet, efficient, and low maintenance, it’s a smart investment that can pay off with every page you print.

It was time to get a new printer , our old one was acting funky and I was wanting something I could use for home and office or home office. The printer came bucket packaged and protected and arrived in flawless condition. Setting up the printer was super easy although I will admit I was hesitant of this type printer that uses bottles instead of cartridges. I’m thinking, am I going to make a big mess? Is this hassle worth the rising cost of cartridges? Was this the only real way I could get more life from the ink and print freely without worry? Honestly super easy to use and I wish I wasn’t intimidated prior. The printer sets up to Wi-Fi and connected on the first attempt. I like having its all in one capabilities of a printer and scanner and guess what, a fax if you so chose. I think it gets around 6500 pages in black and 5500 in color something close to that per bottle of ink which makes it usable for flyers or other things that I might print 100 of at once for something like a sale or whatever. I also printed from my phone with ease when I needed a quick pdf doc. I’m excited to see how long this last I heard this type of printer doesn’t get clogged. Glad I got this printer it’s everything I need

Great Printer - No Subscription Needed!!!

I’ve been looking for an alternative to replace my current printer whose Brand makes you subscribe to their own ink replacement and if you take the printer offline or use another brand of ink, the print will brick itself. This Epson ET4950 is the perfect chance to do that.
I’ll start with my only drawback to this printer, it took FOREVER to get setup. Running through the setup process seemed to be going well, but then hit a snag about half way through. Just the time it took to configure itself was unreasonably long. Then switching to the app to finish the process was no help, and once it realized it needed a firmware update, that failed two different times, until I moved to my desktop to force the update and reboot the thing. I have no way of knowing if this is something that might happen for everyone, but mine all told took about 30 mins before it was ready to use. Yikes.
I love the tank design and the ink bottles have a key-like shape to the top of them, so they insert directly into the printer fill tanks so there is absolutely no spills or mess. You can visually see how much ink the tanks have in them and the included bottles of ink fill the printer to capacity. Now Epson says the included ink will get you 3 years of printing. We’ll see how long the ink lasts and that of course will vary based on the amount and type of printing you do. But I love the fact that I can just simply fill up my printer with ink and let it ride, so subscription needed, and when it’s time to refill I can do that. The printer also has a nice compact footprint, not overly large considering all the features it has, which is nice. This will fit into many more spaces than traditional sized printers in this same category.
Printing is super fast and accurate. Automated paper trays extend out to stack your pages when printing and it’s super quiet as well. B/W pages print at 18 ppm and color pages are not bad at 9 ppm. And when you are ready to print, so is the printer. It doesn’t take a couple mins to warm up or buffer, it begins printing almost immediately. It can handle up to 4800x1200 resolution and will also print borderless photos without having to configure that. Just load the paper and print images directly with no borders, that would super nice. The scanner features uses both a flatbed and document feeder and the scanner is super quick and accurate as well. Duplex printing also works very well and is very clean and accurate.
The onboard color display adequate, nothing fancy. But I do love how when the printer is operating, a nice soft light ring glows around the ink tanks. The Epson companion app for your smartphone is also very nice. It has the ability to do every function of the printer from the control of your phone or tablet. And you can also use your computer to operate all the functions as well, so you’re not tied down to being “at the printer” when you need to get something printed since once it’s connected to your network, you can print from anywhere.
So far we are loving the Epson ET4950 and were happy to say goodbye to other printer.

The way an inkjet should be done

I've had more printers than I can count in my life, all of whom come up with some way to handle ink refills and such, and basically they are all bad at it. Ink is prohibitively expensive and the printers are almost free by comparison.
Epson might have the right answer with the ink tank based printers. No need for some subscription to send you replacement cartridges (which, btw can be disabled by the company that sent them) and sending just ink makes sense.
To start:
Packaging is straightforward, printer, literature, cartridges and refills. Setup is easy, literally plug and play, install the drivers for scan support and off you go. It's no secret that I dont like most printers, they are difficult to work with and rroutinely have random problems that make no sense. As yet I've not run into any of those issues with this printer which is a huge positive.
Quality:
Print quality is good, as good as any other current printer on the market. Uses more ink for higher quality prints, but with the ink tanks, I care a whole lot less about that. The scans are great, it seems most scanners for whatever reason are limited to 600x600 resolution, however this one is 1200x2400 which is quite good.
Speed:
It's an inkjet so you're not going to get laser level speed, but you'll have the option to print to glossy photo paper so there's that trade off, that said, so long as you're *not* printing high quality prints, the speed is more than acceptable.
Overall:
If you're in the market for a good printer with the all in one capabilities and not having to worry about ink cartridge replacements, this really is the right answer. It seems Epson may be the one company that isn't trying to gouge you for the carts and you can control what you do with it in that regard. For other companies taking notes, this is the right answer.

A Clear Winner in My Book

Thanks to recent ink-tank technology (as opposed to the older ink-cartridges), inkjet printers have become an economically more viable option once again. And now, with the supertank version, it’s even better. The Epson EcoTank ET-4950 Wireless All-in-One Color Supertank Printer is a great example.
I have been using an all-in-one ink-tank printer by Epson that is very similar to the ET-4950. It has the same features as this one and has performed very well. However, its footprint is very large. As a result, I am thrilled to see Epson come out with the ET-4950. It packs all of the same features and quality into a wonderfully small footprint. This is perfect for me, as I plan to move into a small shed-office on our property soon.
As expected, set-up was simple and without any hiccups. Though you do need to fill the ink tanks with the supplied ink, and that takes a few moments. Otherwise, I had it up and running, connected to our wifi, and printing in short order. Everything worked as advertised and the quality is just what you expect from Epson ink printers - clear, clean, and colorful - including excellent photo prints on photo paper.
The only caveat I would add is that this is probably not the best choice if your main purpose is to print photos on small format photo paper (think 4X6). Epson has many other excellent printers specifically for that purpose.
The ET-4950 also handled making copies and scanning images with ease and of good quality.
Successfully managing to put all of these features into a compact footprint makes the Epson ET-4950 a clear winner in my book.

The Epson printer comes packaged very well and was very easy to set up.
The setup took all of maybe 7 minutes, connecting to the WiFi was what took the longest. The inks were quick and zero mess.
Once hooked up I tested out the printing of typed documents, photos and some labels.
1. The Documents were sharp and crisp looking. No smudging.
2. Over the course of a week, the documents kept looking sharp and crisp even after 1000 plus pages.
Photos came out very sharp and not to inky.
1. Colors were vibrant yet sharp.
Using labels was simple and intuitive. They came out perfect and quickly.
This leads to the claim that the promoting prints in 4800 x 1200 , it shows.
Features:
Double sided printing and scanning was excellent which say around 10 pages a min for me. I did get a little more single sided.
The small tft screen is responsive and bright. The screen is very colorful and does what you needed. The paper tray holds 250 pages.
One of the best two features to me is the ink, the ink bottles last up to 3 years which is a bold claim but the bottles seem perfect.
In closing- the Epson is a great blend of technology but also perfect balance of features that don’t overwhelm.

So far this has been a great printer. I found the setup process to be really easy: I don't like phone setup, and I don't like chat interface, but I decided to put that aside and see how easy it would be. The app was really easy to use, it linked easily to the printer and the step by step instructions in the chat were easy to follow and always super accurate. Due to firmware updates and other configuration pieces the whole process took approximately twenty minutes. I liked the refillable ecotanks and I'm really hoping that it means less waste and cheaper ink in the longer term. Printing from anywhere in the house is easy - on phones and laptops. There have been no issues so far. I've used other wifi printers and so far I've found the mobile and windows experience to be better than the ones I've see from other brands. I tend to use printers for personal/family paperwork - all of our online receipts and paperwork for kids and taxes that we need to get done, along with scanning important documents to archive online. I don't find any issues with the print quality for these kind of purposes. I haven't tried any high quality print jobs to really push the limits but it will more than adequately meet my purposes. I hope that getting ink bottles that I can refill means that it will be overall cheaper to keep using it long into the future.

Maybe I can start recommending Epson printers again. This is a new unit so time will tell how it holds up as far as reliability is concerned. It is so nice they got rid of those dang cartridge's. The amount of money that will be saved should be noticeable. I always found it interesting how fast those old printers would dry out and cause you to have to go buy new ink and use half of it to recalibrate it. Just a money pit. The maintenance on this printer is actually a bit more than the old style but it will keep you happy in the long run. No more mystery clogs and dried out print heads. Just make sure you pay attention to the maintenance. Like anything else, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. I appreciate the document feeder. Those are basically a must have from now on in a printer. Duplex printing is a neat feature that more printers should have. Connectivity is pretty easy (Wi-Fi, USB, Ethernet) regardless of what PC eco system you are in (Mac, Windows or Linux) Only time will how long the included ink will last seeming as though they say it should be about three years. I have always been a fan of Epson printer, just didn't like the fact that if I didn't use it for a while I knew I was going to but more ink because the heads would dry up. looking forward to enjoying this one.

The Epson EcoTank ET-4950 printer was super simple to set up and comes with four bottles of ink to fill up the reservoir chambers. I appreciate how much ink capacity this printer and that when the time comes to refill a color, I can do it by just getting another bottle and adding it to the reservoir, and it's way cheaper than traditional ink cartridges. Basic print quality is good. We mostly use it for simple documents and black and white coloring pages. It prints quite a bit faster than my old printer, and the dual side printing is a huge plus. But it does a decent job for photos when you crank up the dpi. I love the flexibility that I have with the built in Wi-Fi, where I can just connect it to my wireless network and then print from any device on my network whether it be a desktop computer, laptop, phone or tablet. The scanner and copier are relatively quick and easy to use as well and I love the auto feed function. So if you're looking for a good small office printer or for your home use, then the EcoTank ET-4950 is a fantastic choice.

The Epson - EcoTank ET-4950 Wireless All-in-One Color Supertank Inkjet Printer is advertised as “The Ultimate Home Office Printer” and based on my experiences with it so far, it certainly lives up to this lofty standard.
One of the first things that most people worry about when purchasing a new printer is the inevitable ongoing costs of replacement ink cartridges. With the EcoTank ET-4950, ink cartridges are now a thing of the past. Instead, the ink is replenished with easy-to-use EcoFit bottles which contain way more ink than the old cartridges that were used in older printers.
One of the other things that is unique about this EcoTank ET-4950 is its permanent printhead that is engineered to last the life of the printer. This is a big difference compared to other conventional thermal inkjet printers and something that really increases the value and longevity of the machine.
As an “All-in-One” printer, the EcoTank ET-4950 has many of the other common features you would expect from an all-in-one printer including a 30-sheet auto document feeder, flatbed scanner, high-capacity 250-sheet paper tray, and the ability to print and scan from a mobile device via the Epson Smart Panel app. It also includes the various connection options of Ethernet, Wi-Fi 5, and even an old-school USB-B port if you want a direct connection to your PC.
I found all of these features to work as expected and I honestly can’t find even one thing to complain about when it comes to this printer and its functionality. This seems to be the norm when it comes to the exceptional products the Epson brand continues to release and I am happy to say this Epson – EcoTank ET-4950 Wireless All-in-One Color Supertank Inkjet Printer has certainly lived up to the Epson name.

This printer comes nicely boxed and easy to remove and set up. There were both written instructions and instructions via the Epson app. Printers with ink tanks always make me nervous since I fear spilling the container as I am filling the tank. Although I have experience with filling the tanks with ink, I did manage to spill some on my desk, when the empty bottle tipped over. I quickly did the clean up with rubbing alcohol. The instructions take you through step by step set up with the smart panel on the printer. I had a little trouble loading the paper since there is the upper section for the printer page and this confused me but I eventually figured it out. There are different size options for printing as well as a scan and fax setting. It took me less than 1 hour to set up this printer and I was very impressed with how Epson does instructions. This printer is nice and compact and allows me to keep in a tight space. I am really impressed with how the paper tray functions. When you shut it off, the paper tray completely slides inside the printer so that it is not exposed. This keeps the paper free from any dust. Epson printers are now my new favorite! I highly recommend this printer.

Ive owned plenty of printers and used plenty of various types of printers, from Laser, to desktop to full combinations to even dot matrix older printers and the one thing I can say is the newer printers out there are a huge improvement over anything Ive used in the past. Epson is the leader in printing today and consistently releases printers that stay ahead of the game when it comes to funxctionality and all around capabilities. This all in one printer is no exception and comes with full functionality when it comes to printing, scanning and wireless funtionality. The Eco-Tank portion of this printer makes it easy to add reasonably priced ink of all colors to each tank seamlessly and keeping costs down. Lets face it toner and ink is the major expense when it comes to printers today and subscription based ink is the game that keeps a recurring revenue for the printer companies, however Epson is not cartrdges, its actually bottles of ink which eliminates the plastic cartridge component and just allows you to buy the ink. Id recomment this printer to anyone looking for great printing capability along with keeping ink costs down.

I've had my share of printers, and like most people have always had issues! Of course most of the issues revolve around running out of ink and cost of the ink cartridges, etc... I think I've finally found the solution to my issues! Each replacement bottle is equal to 90 (yes, you read that correctly) standard ink cartridges!! Thats unreal! Epson said this is enough ink to last 3 years, and honestly I believe it! Thats alot of ink! As a parent, I've got thousands and thousands of pictures of my kids that I always say I'll print, but I never get around to it because the print quality is soooo bad on my home printer, and there's no easy way to print them! The app has been very simple and intuitive to use to print my pictures from both my phone and my laptop. To me, this is one of the best parts! Printing without this app was so cumbersome in the past that I usually just wouldn't even do it, but now I have no more excuses because this is so easy, and the end product ends up looking so good! I cant tell the difference between my photos I printed here on this printer, and the ones I got from the store!
