I received my printer to do a review for the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.” First I was emailed and texted about my delivery. It arrived sooner than my text message said it would. I was so excited to unbox it. It was delivered right to my front door, I signed for it and was very surprised how light weight it was. I started to unpack the Epson printer (ET-8500/ET-8550). Please make sure to read ALL instructions before beginning anything. ***Don't turn Printer Off during this entire process or you will have to start all over** You may need a USB cable just case, it is not included. I am not that text savy but I was able to follow the instructions and uploaded the app. I was very surprised how easy it was. The app will walk you through a very friendly smart panel setup. Once it located my printer it was ready for next step ink initializtion. It will guide you step by step. It can be used wired or wireless. Easy to fill ink cartridges. You will need paper to test the printer may 6 to 10 pages. After system setup is completed you are to start using it ASAP. I am so glad I was selected to set out this amazing product (This is a review for the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”)

This printer is beyond amazing! This is a review for the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review! I love this printer! The set up is beyond easy and filling the ink is easier. When turning on the printer it has a QR code that helps guide through setup. I followed along on the paper instructions as well and both worked amazingly well! The colors are bright and crisp! The filling the tanks is simple as they are all labeled well but also have their own shapes so you cannot accidentally put the wrong color in the wrong slot. The touch screen is the perfect sensitivity and the output tray hides when not in use. The scanner is highly clear as well. Setting up to wifi was the most simple experience connecting anything to WiFi I have ever had. I highly enjoy and am so happy with this printer. You will love it I assure you this!
The benefits of less plastic waste and how far your ink can go is just icing on the cake as well! Benefits you can be sure will save not only your wallet but the planet as well!

This printer is easy to set up, use, and makes great prints. I would recommend it to anyone looking to print regular pages, or even photos. I purchased it to print waterslides, and the colors are great on it.

Excellent photo printer! The digital photo age leaves me wanting. Just scrolling through photos on a phone or computer isn't much fun. I wanted to give my adult kids and grandkids actual, physical photos they can frame or put in an album. As a pro photographer I wanted the prints to be high quality and this printer delivers! And the Eco-Tank ink lasts through hundreds of prints and is so much cheaper than cartridges. Setup was easy and most of the controls are on the full-color touchscreen. I intend to get a LOT of use out of this. Keep in mind that you are buying a PHOTO printer, not something for office work. Does 4x6 and 10x7 prints. Use quality photo paper and you will more than satisfied with the results. Expensive but you're getting a near-pro grade printer that matches up well with prints from anywhere.

Product works great! Setup is a little confusing, at least it was for me. But once it is up and running, it prints beautifully. And it really does not use very much ink, I have printed over 100 photos and the ink tanks have barely moved.

I recently bought the printer about a month ago. The set up was very simple. I am very satisfied with the quality of the printing. My only concern is the quality of the tray components, made of plastic so I suggest being very gentle placing paper in trays and placing the trays into the printer.

Minor glitches

This printer prints really well. And I love not having to buy ink all of the time. However, it keeps having a paper sensing glitch. I lost power due to an outage and even though I reset everything, cleaned the inkjets, and realigned it, it doesn't sense paper in the tray unless I remove it and put it back in. I'm going to try changing paper types or loading more because this is a little annoying.

The Answer to High Ink Costs

If you're like me and have always been disgusted with the cost of printer ink and how quickly the cartridges run out, this is the printer for you. First of all the photo print quality is outstanding. I have never seen better from a home inkjet printer. Best of all though is the cost of the ink. With the supertank system, you pay just a little more for a bottle of ink than you would with a cartridge but I would guess that you get at least 25 times more ink. The tanks are easy to fill with no mess and it's easy to monitor the level not only from the print screen but also visually on the printer. One thing I will say that I have gathered from reading forums and reviews is that this printer and probably a lot of others will give you an error code and require factory service when the ink overflow pads get saturated. You can clean these yourself if you are handy and watch the available online videos. I also found out that the best way to avoid this is to configure your photo prints with borders and not borderless. That minimizes the overflow of ink when printing. I wanted an ET-8550 but due to supply chain issues I understand they will not be available for months and really I don't print larger than 8x10 that often anyway. I would definitely recommend this printer.

This is the second one of these I have purchased. I've had my first one for over a year. I really like having the photo paper always loaded in one tray so I can print a photo from my phone or computer at will. Having the 8x11 paper loaded in the other tray means it is always ready for real work as well. The quality of the photos is amazing and I haven't run out of ink in a year. The Epson software works on my Mac and my iPhone well. Whenever an update for the printer becomes available I'm notified. My only complaint would be paper tray quantity size on the 8x11 page tray. All in all, I'm not sure I could find a better printer.

Love this Printer

I've always been a fan of the Epson brand, and have tried a couple products. I'm highly impressed with the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500 Wireless Printer. As I opened the box and seen the beautifully designed printer, with a front touch screen. I followed the instructions carefully, and found it to be quite a simple process! Which I was very happy about. I love how the ink clicks onto the base, and you can watch the color fill in the window. It came with 6 vibrant colors. This isn't just a printer, it's also a scanner as well! It's got voice activated printing, print 4"×6", 8.5"×11", custom cd's and dvd's, and more!! The pictures turn out amazing, the ink seems high quality, as my pictures turn out brilliant. For now, I'm using the printer for my phone mainly. It was easy to connect it to my phone. Which was a nice change from other brands. I give this printer 5 out of 5 stars. High quality material, very well made, unique design, new great features. Easy to install, saves on Ink by a ton, prints high quality pictures, and is also a scanner. This printer is the king of all printers. Epson really outdone themselves. Excellent printer, affordable upkeep. I'd highly recommend. “This is a review for the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review

I love this printer! The eco tank is the way to go - no more expensive cartridges. The touch-screen offers all of the options for using the printer/scanner/copier. The print quality is as good as anything I've ever used (used a LOT of others), and I keep the necessary software on auto-update so I don't miss out.
And I love the weight and shape - it seems sturdy and stable on the rack.

Great Printer for the Hobbyist Photographer

I purchased the larger version of this printer ( ET-8550) when it was first introduced in the Summer of 2021. I was searching for a photo-quality printer that used large cost-effective ink tanks. I liked the Canon Megatank printers, but they did not make a competitively-priced printer with 6-colors.
After 18 months of use, this printer has been excellent. Only needed to clean the heads once or twice. It has been left unused for a month and still works when needed. Picture quality is very close to printers with 8-12 colors. The ink is reasonably priced and available in most office supply stores. The print speed is pretty good on standard print mode but slows on high-quality mode. Very little visual difference on small prints of 5" x 7" or less. The software is not bad once you get used to the options. Cellphone printing and controls are excellent. Setup using a cellphone is very intuitive. Not sure why some report difficulties with software or cellphone setup.
Paper handling is good, but not perfect. The tray for (#2) is a little flimsy and can be inserted too far into the printer by accident (easily realigned). The printer is limited to pre-cut paper only. Roll paper stock is not supported.
The unit has easy service to refill ink and replace the maintenance box. The footprint is compact for the size of the printer. It is quiet, with the usual inkjet printer pump and click sounds. If stored for a long period of time between prints, requires a longer head-cleaning process. The time for cleaning is reasonable. The printer is capable of printing on plain paper for business use as well as high-quality photo paper. The scanner works well but is one sheet at a time. The control display is the size of a standard cellphone and can be flipped up for easy viewing. default paper size and quality can be saved in the settings. The printing software has several options for layouts and a preview picture selection grid that has variable sizing of the individual images and of the picture grid up to the full size of your computer. This makes a large batch printing job simple and easily managed. The software can print from NEF RAW files. I am not sure if this is because I have NEF Codec loaded on my computer, even if so, the software can print from NEF using the Codec.
My overall review of this printer is that it is an excellent printer for photo hobbyists. If I am selling prints, I would probably suggest a professional-level printer with archival inks or pigment inks.

Seems expensive, but worth every penny! The colors rendered by this printer are astonishingly true, vibrant, and every detail shows well. I couldn't be more happier with this printer. Glad I switched over to Epson. This model is also very user friendly which is another reason I purchased this model (ET8500)

Love the refillable ink tanks. Color is okay. The Bluetooth connection is spotty and the apps suck. Sometimes the printer will not communicate with my Chromebook at all & says offline no matter what I do. Scanner makes all my documents look dark and the paper look grey. Super unimpressed with the scanner. I miss my old Cannon I had 10 years ago with like 9 ink colors. The tech was too old to work with new laptops... Boo. I got a newer Cannon 5 yrs ago with 5 tanks that was a little better than this one until it broke. Not impressed, but it works for the most part.

This printer is AMAZING! I wasn't sure what to expect but needed something smooth and reliable. This is better than expected and printing is excellent. I needed a printer for documents and love that this does both photos and docs. I've only printed a few photos so far but they look amazing. Color is really nice! Set up is very easy, ink loading is a piece of cake and love the fact no cartridges, I can refill the tank. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an excellent printer!!

Great printer and print quality. Challenging Epson software and installer. Installed on 2 Macs, 2 iPhones, 1 iPad and a PC. Never the same experience twice. Eventually got it all to work but the Epson folder ends up with 11 different programs (like Epson Scan2, Epson ScanSmart, Epson Scan2Utility, etc.). Confusing and not elegant.

I needed to replace my photo printer and found a great price on the Epson ET-8500 at Best Buy. It meets all my needs. Prints from my phone, my wife’s laptop wirelessly, prints documents front and back, and prints high quality photos. Geek Squad helped with setup questions. I’m very pleased.
