Unfortunately not a great buy. The touchscreen has a delayed reaction when pressing, the color isn't bright at all, and the price was definitely not worth it.

Prints way slower than the information says it is supposed to. Setting up the WiFi printing is very difficult and annoying to get to work when trying to print.

Awful! numerous paper jams and the scan quality is reminiscent of 1980's Fax. I am returning after trouble shooting for days.

I was not happy with the paper coming out in the middle of the machine and having to reach inside to grab your documents

Very disappointing Spent more time o lline with support than time using product

First impressions upon receiving the Epson EcoTank ET-5170 Wireless Printer was the compact design. Not only was the printer smaller than I expected, around 14.8" x 13.7" x 13.6", but it was also very light (under 20 lbs). Unboxing was a breeze. The box contained the printer, an AC power cable, 2 rather generous black ink bottles (127 ml each), and one each of cyan, magenta, and yellow color bottles (each 70 ml). There was also a quick guide for set up as well as a CD -Rom that could be used for computer setup. The Epson EcoTank ET-5170 quick guide for setup was very user friendly. The first step was to remove the blue tape that kept the printer safe during shipping. Filling the EcoTank ink was next. I was very pleased with the efficiency and cleanliness in doing this. Each bottle is fitted with a nozzle that directly fits to the accompanying tank. The black tank took about 90 seconds to fill and the color around 30 seconds each. Once filled, the ink did seem to settle, so I reattached the bottles allowing the small remaining ink to be dispersed. There was zero squeezing, no leaks, spills, or wasted ink at the end of the process. This was fantastic! Next, I attached the 5 foot AC power cable and powered on the printer. There is a 2.4” touchscreen monitor that walks you through the options for time and date formatting. The next prompt begins an eleven minute ink charge. This was a great time for me to upload the Epson Smart Panel app to my phone. The Epson EcoTank ET-5170 has the option to be connected wirelessly or by USB or ethernet cable (not included with the printer). After the ink is charged, the printer guides you through a series of print tests that create the perfect alignments and adjustments. Once that is complete, the printer prompts through Wi Fi connection, as well as a Quick Fax Set-up Wizard, if that is an option you would like to use. Paper is loaded via a drop down door in the front of the printer. The paper drawer has the expected paper guides to help with correct positioning when loading paper of different sizes. Printing was clean and crisp and the paper came out with the printed side face down. The top of the EcoTank ET-5170 also comes equipped with a top loading copier and a flatbed scanner. The scanner works as expected but with a slightly less crisp resolution than the actual printer. The toploading copier was the only disappointment for me and the only reason I would not give a perfect 5 star review. The paper to be copied had to be placed just right or it would not advance. It took me several tries to get this to function and even then, it was not perfect. It almost felt like tension was too tight in the rollers and was hindering the paper from advancing correctly. Overall I think the Epson EcoTank ET-5170 Wireless Printer is a great option for small offices, at home work spaces, and for families who aggressively use color ink. This price point of the printer may be a little more than one may want to spend on an at home printer, but the savings on ink will make up the difference. The ink is projected to last 2 years and after testing over 300, full color 8 ½ x 11 sheets of paper without making a dent in the ink supply, I can see this being very true. Kept making a sound & would not stop so I returned it.

This is my 2nd Epson printer. The first one last me 6 years. I like the way how they design the supertank ink without having to mess with the cartridges. Setting it up was a breeze for me and everything works out of the box. Got a awesome deal from BestBuy with trade-in and sales price.

\ if your paper has a crease or wrinkle it isn't going to go through the adf. this includes folded pages that come in the mail in envelopes. you will not be able to send those through the adf; you will be forced to use the flatbed \ it's slow. frequently pausing during scans and prints. if it doesn't have enough memory please please give me an upgrade path so that i don't have my people waiting on their jobs instead of working \ installation is difficult. i had to uninstall and reinstall, but the uninstall didn't remove the printer, so that after i did another reinstall, i had a second copy \ tech support isn't bad, but hp tech support is better this printer is at best a personal all in one, not designed for an office environment. plus, it's kinda loud the reason i went with this platform is because i am looking for another solution to spending thousands of dollars on toner and fuser and roller parts, cartridges, and maintenance, and waste - to lower the cost of ownership

It was a simple step by step to set up the printer and easy wifi connection to my IPad and Mac. Just the amount of ink that comes with the initial purchase gives me hope for lots of printing.

This printer is a far better model than my old EPSON 3600 series as it does not use pricey ink cartriges. The quality of the printing is very good. The only negative feature is the small screen. Epson dropped the ball when designing the screen. I need to use a stylus in order to adjust or change the settings. Otherwise, its a wise purchase for home office use.

Ease of setup on this product. Works great and the new ink system appears to function much better.

It is working well, doing everything I expect it to. I haven't had it long enough to see how long the ink will last, but it looks like it will last a long time. Savings on ink was the primary reason for buying it.

I love my new printer it works excellent and I will prefer alot of people to get one.

It was so bad I returned it for a complete refund. It repeatedly jammed with paper. The feeder didn’t work. It was slow in copying and faxing if it didn’t just freeze. At least Best Buy took it back without hesitation.
