painless setup, stellar execution
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This. Thing. Is. Awesome. From opening the box to viewing my Plex content and YoutubeTV in under 10 minutes thanks to the AndroidTV setup/integration. Using your phone you can do any/all account pairing as well as get your Google Home setup knocked out in minutes. Via the two included remotes you can accomplish just about everything with one or the other, though one comes with a few more shortcut and settings buttons, while the other is just your basic controls ie; good for letting a kid use. Aside from the projector and remotes, and manuals, there is another box that has the streaming stick. You pop the back of the projector off and plug this in if you intend to stream your content. Other projectors offer something similar but most require you to buy this sort of thing separate. Not only that, this one is hidden and gets power via the projector itself, not requiring you to have yet another device out on the counter and plugged into a socket/outlet. Very handy, very tidy, very convenient. I was streaming everything from HD tv signal via YoutubeTV as well as 1080p and 4K movie files with no issues (albeit these are transcoded down to the proper resolution/settings so that the EF-100 will display them; it is *not* a 4K projector. But, it's nice to know it'll still read them and handle them all the same. It says it goes up to 150", and as you can see by one of my uploaded photos I am certain that is true (TV is 65" for scale). Along with that massive size is the EF-100's ability to automatically skew the image to fit whatever surface you are projecting onto. The image may look a little odd in a still photo, but when you're there in the room the image is straight up and down, really cool feature to say the least. Image quality in bright as well as dim lit rooms has yet to be an issue. I had noticed in earlier press releases that some had mentioned this being a better performer in the day versus at night, but again, I have yet to see that myself. So far really the only downside is sound. The speakers are quite horrible. But, that isn't really much of a surprise as it's a known thing for TV's as well as projectors to not really offer much is this area. I've been using my HD 660 S and it's been great until I find a permanent spot for it and wire it all in to my sound system (done via simple HDMI, simply haven't gotten a chance to knock it out yet). And that's really the only con. The app storefront is common in content and appearance if you're familiar with Google. There are plenty of apps and things to add to your interface to keep everyone happy...all your major streaming services are represented and I'm sure more will be added. Easy recommendation to anyone looking for a great quality projector that is more than capable of streaming a vast array of content.

Great picture. Compact package. Versitile uses.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.tl;dr: Epson’s latest projector provides sharp pictures, strong color performance, and no “rainbow effect" like DLP. It runs relatively cool, even for extended periods of time. The 100W model comes with an Android TV stick to deliver hours of entertainment at 720p. Epson claims a 20,000 hour life for the light source or 10 years at 5 hours per day. Full Review: The projector presents itself in a relatively small box, considering its stated output of 2000 lumens at the lens. In practice, the picture appeared brighter than my 4K TV rated at 1000 lumens when projecting from 8 feet away, even at 60% power. The picture size was ~80 inches at the same distance, giving you about a 1:1 throw ratio. It uses a standard PC type plug, so you can easily get a longer cord if needed. There’s a single HDMI connection inside the back cover. The cover snaps on and is designed to come off easily. The media player packaged with the projector attaches to the HDMI dongle and is powered by a micro USB connector coming from the projector. By default, the power turns off when the projector turns off. This can be adjusted in settings to make power up faster. There’s enough space to accommodate an Amazon Fire TV stick or Roku streaming stick as an alternative to the included Android TV stick. I used the projector with each of them and they worked perfectly. This is really designed as an extra screen in a playroom or for an outdoor movie night. It will also serve well as a portable business projector for power point, photo slide show, or video presentation. There's a slight over shadow, as you can see in Excel picture. Image: The projector has 3 LCDs to create the image, all lit with a micro laser array. In a practice, this means a bright, sharp image without the “rainbow effect” common in DLP projectors. Epson has been using the 3 LCD set up for a few years, so have some experience with this technology. The laser array is new in this size projector, switching from a higher wattage bulb. This has allowed for a smaller package, cooler & quieter running, extended life, and nearly instant on. The downside is a native resolution that runs at 720p instead of the 1080p which has become more common. Fortunately, the projector will accept a 1080p input and does a very nice job scaling the input to its native resolution. There are controls on the projector and the remote to adjust keystone digitally. Effectively, this lowers the resolution on some portions of the screen if your setup is too far off axis. Focus is manual and zoom is also digital. I would only adjust zoom for temporary set ups which required a smaller picture and further out projector location. Colors are bright with clear distinctions. Specs indicate 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Projecting on an off-white wall looks nearly as good as a white ceiling. Fast action looks great. Specs show a native 120 Hz refresh rate and it shows. There were no noticeable artifacts, even in a fast moving football game. Sound: You don’t expect to hear much from a projector. Since this is designed as a portal media projector, it has a 4” speaker built into the back. It’s also designed to sit on its end if you want to project on the ceiling. Bigger sound can be had through a Bluetooth connection. I had no trouble connecting to a Sony portable speaker I have. There’s also a headphone output. There’s no optical output for surround sound. I don’t think this is designed for a permanent installation. Portability: At just under 6 pounds, and measuring 8” x 9”, this is easy to move around to different places. There’s no bag packaged with the projector, but it’s still easy to get from place to place. When running, it draws ~ 100 watts of power.

Beautiful and easy home theatre experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bright, vivid, and sharp - this is a quality Epson projector. I highly recommend the EF-100. This Mini-Laser Streaming Projector has turned my office into a home theater! The compact design allows me to place it in my closet on one side of the room while it projects practically on my entire wall opposite the closet. At the furthest, I could project from 9ft 8in away from the wall, which produced an 8ft 8in (104in) wide picture on an 11ft wall. I could see the picture even with the lights on so I could tell the brightness was top notch. The EF-100 does not disappoint. I now have a fun home theater with a “big screen” experience and a beautiful picture. Setup was easy and relatively quick. The Android TV dongle makes it super simple to stream which is great for me since I use Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and Plex on the regular. Amazon Prime Video was not available. Hulu is extremely buggy on this platform, perhaps there will be an update soon. I had no issues connecting via HDMI a Blu-Ray/DVD player and a Nintendo Switch (Hulu works fine on the Switch FYI). Gaming was fun given the seriously stunning image quality - great color rendition! The keystone buttons on the projector and the remote make it easy to tinker with the viewing angle, but it’s hardly necessary given the auto keystone correction. The integrated kick-stand is sturdy and works well. The included audio is acceptable. I knew I wanted to connect external audio since the projector is behind the viewing point and the projector speaker would be facing the back wall. I ended up connecting a set of speakers via AUX for extra volume. The fact that it’s compact makes storage extremely easy. If I can fit a shoebox in my closet, I can keep this projector in there. My theater turns back into an office in a pinch. All in all, I really love this projector and I’m super happy with its performance.

AWESOME PROJECTOR!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can’t wait for summer to have a few outdoor movie parties, this projector is a phenom! It came packaged with everything to get going right out the box. ~ Supplied parts Projector Streaming device (2) Remotes – projector, streaming device Batteries USB cable (internal) HDMI cable (internal) Power cord ~Set-up This like everything else about the EF 100 was simple and intuitive, you almost don’t need the instructions to do so. Just snap off the back panel and insert the supplied streaming device and connect it to the internal USB cable. ~Getting started After turning it on, a step by step set-up menu came on. I connected it to my internet and then mirrored my streaming (Netflix, Disney and HULU). Be aware this is Android TV, for you Apple folk. My wall is a drab olive green (not my choice!) which sucks up light, yet the picture still was fantastic. Although it has 2 remotes I can do everything with the one projector remote. ~My thoughts I have a pico 200W projector that, worked fine because it’s what I knew, but this 2000W mini projector far and away blows that one away. The clarity and size, up to 120” is outstanding. The settings allowed me to do miniscule adjustments that let me razor sharpen the picture. Although it isn’t a pico projector, I can carry it around with a case. It’s pretty quiet, as the fan doesn’t make much noise at all and after having it on for aprx. ½ hour it hadn’t even gotten warm. I’m sure you will be as pleased as I am with this streaming projector, that also comes with chromecast. There is so much for me to explore, I haven’t even begun to know all I can do with this puppy, but I plan on enjoying every minute of finding out!

Simple, effective and covers all bases
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Literally was up and running within 10 minutes. Menus are easily laid out with minimal learning curve. We were watching Christmas movies on our ceiling in broad daylight, with no noticeable degradation in picture. Image is sharp and clear. Enough so, that a picture snob like myself has no complaints...even while looking for them. Portability is a big plus. A didn't expect it, but this is a perfect travel projector for leisure and work. My wife has used it for her presentations, which use PowerPoint, which no issues setting up and reading text. No lag on my gaming, so pumping up the play to a 150" ceiling screen has been a blast. The speaker is better than I expected, as I wasn't expecting much. When I wanted an extra sound boost, I connected to my soundbar via Bluetooth. Pretty seamless. I do wish there was at least an optical out for audio, but it hasn't been a deal breaker. Connecting up to Android TV was also effortless, and once I put all the apps on I typically use, it is a great addition to my audio/visual arsenal. Just to note, the wifi and Android TV are provided by a HDMI dongle that comes with the unit. It is not "built-in." It is concealed and covered, but just thought it's worth mentioning. Love this unit. Very few products live up to their hype. This is one of them. Great product.

Great All-Inclusive Value!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When offered an opportunity to test an Epson Projector, I admit I wasn’t sure what to think about the quality of a projector over a flatscreen television. Growing up, a projector was something only used in movie theaters or the classroom, two completely different sides of the quality spectrum for viewing. But the prospect of a projector at home had me excited. There were different models that were available, but I was looking for something specific to my viewing needs. I’m not your prototypical electronics user, looking for add-on type electronics to couple with and enhance the overall experience. I want a unit that is as much “all-inclusive” as is available, so the Epson EF-100 Mini-Laser Streaming Projector had just what I was looking for in a device. First off, there’s a wide range of overall display sizes to choose from. With viewing sizes anywhere between 22” and 150”, this projector provides an option for any room in the house. And for me, the ideal place is actually my recently renovated workout room, which my wife and I use regularly. By mounting the projector on a shelf I built near the ceiling, the projector self corrects the level of the display to the wall, as long as it isn’t greater than a 45 degree angle. The vibrant display is now easily the largest screen in the house, giving us a bright, clear picture as good as any TV we own. Second important feature is the built-in Android TV package. By connecting the projector to Wi-Fi, I have access to all of the top apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu. I can watch workout videos, my favorite TV shows or a movie, all while doing my workout. And third, just as important as the display and access to apps, is the sound. I don’t need an expensive sound system to watch my shows on this projector. Sound quality from the projector is really good, especially within the room I’m using it in. But I also have the option to Bluetooth to another speaker system, or even my Apple AirPods, so as not to disturb anyone in the next room. The Epson EF-100 Mini-Laser Streaming Projector is a great all-in solution for me and my family. It provides us everything I look for in a television, all compiled into a 6 lbs. unit that’s no bigger than a shoe box. And speaking of box, the unit itself is a sexy, modern-looking device that fits with any space in the house. Whether up on a ceiling-mounted shelf (like the one I built), or on an elegant family room credenza, this projector will fit into any décor. This is a review for the Epson EF-100 Mini-Laser Streaming projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well researched and happy with choice…Amazing projector. Easy setup and great picture. But 2 problems, 3 of the 3 Bluetooth speakers tried (including a Bose and an Amazon Alexa studio) did not work. Wouldn’t pair. If the built on speaker wasn’t so good, it would’ve been a big issue. 2nd, when focused, 1 dot/pixel is missing. Very noticeable and will be exchanging it for an identical model.

Excellent Projector
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great projector. Have not had any issues playing video games, streaming tv shows, or projecting my computer. As long as your room has some protection from the sun (blinds), you should be able to see the picture decently.

Great projector BUT.....
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Superb projector, clean, crisp colors, easy to set up and use. Lobe the fact it is a smart projector and you can install streaming apps on the accompanying stick. It would be nice if the description said there is only 1 HDMI input so its either the stick or something else. However, if you have an amp the stick can plug into that and the amp onto the projector. One other point, there dont seem to be any ceiling mounts designed for this size projecotr. The resukt of this is a noticeable vibration unless you can work oit a baffle system of rubbernwashers to sit between the unbalanced projector and the mount

Pretty Good Projector
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, this projector has worked well. The picture is much better than I expected given it only has 1k lumens. I believe it being a laser projector helps. I purchased it for outdoor use in the evenings to watch movies with the family. My only complaint so far is that I do not like the streaming device that come with it. I'd much rather use a Roku device instead which is possible, but it will not connect to the power cord built into the projector as the cable connection is different. This means you cannot close the Roku inside the back of the projector.

Awesome Laser Projector!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took a chance on this Epson projector despite complaints from professional reviews about the resolution capability. I don’t think the professional reviewers took the time to research and play with this great piece of tech since they didn’t pay for it. The Pros major complaint is the 720p HD rating. I removed the included google tv dongle and slapped in my 4K Firestick and the projector is displaying 1080 x 1920 according to the menu stats. I’m extremely pleased with the projected image quality so don’t listen to reviews on the internet saying the image quality isn’t that great considering laser technology. The included Epson remote is controlling the fire stick which I discovered on accident. Other helpful tip if you plan on mounting the projector on the ceiling...press and hold the mute button on Epson remote for 6 seconds and the picture will flip upside down so the projector can be mounted upside down which I’ll be doing that once I purchase the recommended Epson mount (ELPMB60). The two rubber feet on the bottom of the unit can be removed to uncover two locations for the mount to attach to the unit. Overall, I’m completely satisfied with this laser projector. Whether it’s day or night I’m happy with the picture on my 100 in silver ticket screen.

Epson…do better….
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved this device with my entire being at first…now im in a process that is very frustrating… my EF-100 Epson projector with Android is not even over 2 years old and the speaker sounds terrible… it sounds extremely blown like I’ve been blasting music for months.. my warranty is out and I was advised by a representative that I had to take my projector for service that will cost me extra after blowing almost $800 just to have the device to begin with… The representative provided me with a link to Epson authorized repair locations and the closest one to me is 4 hours away….. It’s just inconvenient and had I known all these came with this device, I would’ve reconsidered my purchase. The representatives just give you such an “oh well, better luck next time..” response… Spoke with a supervisor, I asked about potential sound bars that were at least compatible with the device and they have suggestions and the Supervisor gave the no suggestions but advised I take my projector and try different ones….?
