This small projector packs a punch

The EF11 is a small size projector but still performs well enough to compete with the big boys. The setup process is easy enough, but cannot be done without the remote. Since you will need it for the keystone settings, to ensure you get an accurately proportioned picture. The projector does have an automatic vertical shift which was pretty accurate - which means that it can auto adjust if its tilting up or down. But, if its not straight on to the surface (I have it sitting to a side and projecting to the wall at an angle), you still need to perform the horizontal shift manually. I wish there were a few buttons on the projector itself, that allowed you to change input source and the H/V shifts. The easiest way to use the projector is by using its built-in Miracast capabilities. Which means you can cast to it using your Android phone or PC, making video watching wire-free experience. This truly is an unexpected but great feature. The mirroring has also worked and held up without any hiccups. Apart from this, you can use the HDMI IN, or use a USB device to play media off. I wish the speakers were a bit better, and that is what has made me dock the 1 star. They are loud enough, but the audio quality is average at best. But you can use the audio jack to connect external speakers if you feel the need Overall, this is a definite buy, for its size, video quality and remote casting capabilities.

I've had this item for a week or two now and I'm 50 years old. Out of the box, its extremely easy to set up and use. You can also stream using your lap top or desktop if they have HDMI outs. I used an HP Desktop and streamed my usuals..I don't have cable so I stream everything. I started with Netflix because of the blacks on their site and I was very impressed with the darkness of the blacks and brightness of the whites. I also watched Disney Plus, Hulu Plus, and others. The bulb life is 20,000K hours, this was very important to me and I'm relieved that its so long. The on screen menu is great to play with to get the picture quality you want and you can adjust picture size up to over 100 inches and it stays just as sharp, at least 1080P. The sound is good, not excellent..Excellent would be surround sound, in my opinion, but it works and is very clear and plenty loud. You do not have to be technically proficient to set up or use this thing, its super easy...Im looking forward to many many hours of enjoyment..

This projector is super user friendly and makes for a great at-home movie experience. The process to set up the projector and connect my laptop via Miracast (similar to Bluetooth) was quick and easy. There are micro-USB, USB A and an HDMI port so you could plug in a Fire or Roku stick and stream from either of those devices as well. It comes with a pretty standard remote to adjust the inputs, volume, screen shape, colors, brightness and all the typical picture settings. The only challenge is trying to get the picture perfectly square. It has all the functions for adjusting the keystone to square up the image, it is just a bit of work to get it the way you want it. I have a full-size projector and a 104” screen. I tested it out on my 104” screen and it looks great. It has a wide/telephoto option so you can put the projector closer or further away from the screen. For my 104” screen, I set the projector on my coffee table about 6.5’ from the screen. It has an adjustable leg in the middle to adjust the front higher. It is so small that you can take it anywhere and use for evening outside movies in the summer. The only downside is the sound volume is not all that loud, so another speaker would be good to have when using outside. If you are using it in a room that has some ambient light it should be fine, but may not be great if you are in a fairly bright room. My daughter set it up on a stool so that she could lay in bed and watch the movie on her wall and had her own personal theatre all to herself! The picture and sound quality were great for her in her bedroom - her only complaint is that you can hear a slight humming when it's been running a while but it's not that noticeable. She was listening at a pretty low volume level though. For a compact little projector, I’m pretty pleased with the picture quality and features.

I regularly go to outdoors camping events, and I like to set up a "theater" tent where I can show movies for my friends, so I jumped on this when I first saw it. The description said "enjoy an epic experience virtually anywhere…" and "this all-in-one projector is the perfect way to watch all your favorite streaming services." So I thought this would be perfect. First, the good stuff. It's a nice compact form factor, and it looks fairly rugged, so I could toss it on my A/V bag and go. No pesky protrusions, and the power adapter is about the size of a deck of cards. The picture is really nice and colorful, and it seems to be a pretty wide angle lens, so you can project a large screen in a small space. It isn't terribly bright, but it's acceptable for PowerPoint presentations with dim lighting indoors, or movies in a darkened room. It's got a headphone jack for stereo sound output. I can work with that, but bluetooth would have been a nice touch. As for features, I was disappointed by the overall product design. There were quite a few drawbacks for my purposes, but I have a hard time lowering my rating for it because of its quality and performance. However, in the spirit of Festivus, here's my grievances: The connectivity!! It has the option of HDMI, wireless, or USB. The wireless is Miracast screen mirroring, which is super disappointing. If I want to stream something from my phone, it will mirror the entire phone screen including the time and stuff that's across the top. I'm using a Surface Duo for a phone, so that makes full-screen even that more problematic. It would have been way better if you could connect to it as an external monitor or use native casting from the phone. This really limits its capabilities as a portable device. The USB connection is for file browsing only as far as I can tell. I was able to use it with Chromecast just fine, and the USB port can be used to power the Chromecast, so there's that. Now I have to go out and buy a Chromecast or some other streaming device for it. I'd expect more power options like a battery or an internal power regulator so you can use whatever power is available. It needs 24v, so I'm pretty hesitant to hook it up to two car batteries in series. Why isn't there a lens cover? The lens is very nicely inset into an alcove, and I really expected to see an integrated lens cover that would slide over and cover it. Why is it manual focus only? There's a focus slider on the top. I'd expect it to have auto-focus capability, and a zoom slider on the top instead. For mounting, it has three m4-0.7 mounting holes so it is ready for a projector mount; there's one behind the front foot and you have to unscrew the rear feet bumpers to get to the rest of the holes. Since it's so portable and light, I'd love to see a 1/4"x20 mount for a tripod or a GoPro mount. The functionality! It's totally dependent on the remote control, and the remote isn't illuminated so you can't see what you're doing in the dark. Overall, it's a nice, quality build and gives good performance. I saw a recommended use for it was "ultra-portable home theater," and I'd agree with it, but those seem like two different use case. It seems like the intent is that you could port it from one home theater to another. I can't really see a reason for the portability if you just use it at home, but if it's supposed to be portable, it's missing a whole lot of features that it would need.

I'm a fan of Epson projectors in general and this one is no exception. Pros: -Nice compact design -Excellent picture quality -Able to play slideshows directly from USB -Picture remains excellent even on dark walls Cons: -Throw distance is pretty far if you want the max picture size -Speakers are kind of tinny so if you might want to hook up to an external speaker -I feel that at this price point Epson could have included built in streaming If you're like me and just love Epson products, then you'll definitely be happy with this projector.

I got the Epson EF11 to use for outdoor movie nights this summer. It is extremely compact with an impressive array of features. This is a 1080p, 16:9 aspect ratio, "Full-HD" projector with two small built-in speakers that do a decent job with your audio. Alternatively, there is an audio output jack you can use to feed an external speaker system. There is a single HDMI, HDCP 1.4, input and one user-accessible USB-A port. Video input abilities through the USB port are very limited. The light source is a "multi-array" laser diode but the light output is pretty modest - 1000 lumens. I found that it was fairly easy to overwhelm the picture brightness with even a modest amount of ambient light on my 84" Elite screen. I think it will be OK if I wait until well after sundown this summer! The second limitation that I found is that the manual focus can be difficult to get dialed in. This can result in a slightly soft picture - not unwatchable but not tack sharp either. The final thing to be aware of is that projector placement is crucial. You must get the projector in just the right spot to fill your screen without having to resort to electronic skew correction. On several occasions I have had to prop a magazine under a section of the rear portion of the projector to get the picture aligned and uniformly focused. The projector has an impressive array of color adjustments and other tweaks that you can make although it does provide a handful of presets for viewing specific content. I have mixed feelings about recommending this projector. I do believe that I can overcome the obstacles and have fun with outdoor movies this summer but I would advise anyone considering purchase to make sure you can return it just in case it doesn't fit your expectations.

The Epson Epiqvision Mini is designed to be easily transported for those on the go looking to bring so entertainment via a movie or streaming service or those looking for a quick power point presentation. Rather or not this is going to fit the bill for you really depends on your personal needs. Just a little side note here, i used this set up mainly for streaming movies and really never tried it against a power point presentation. However given the fact that it does have a HDMI port ( and i mean literally only 1 port ) pairing this set up with a raspberry pi would make a perfect on the go media presentation. Out of the box you get everything you need to get your set up going and if you can hook up a DVD player then your more then capable of setting this unit up. Initially i really enjoyed this unit versus my pervious Epson projector for the simple fact this is more compact and easy to store. The built in speakers is a nice bonus, however don't expect to have them blow you out of the water. While streaming movies off of my firestick i was very impressed at how well the picture quality was displayed. While this projector will not display in native 4k it does a pretty decent job at HD conversion. Paired with a proper black back drop the colors were surprisingly vibrant with display at 50". One thing i noticed was that once you pushed the projector past the 60" mark i was able to immediately notice pixilation and color blur. Though not enough for my wife to notice i was able to pick up on it so just some food for thought. One thing that i really dislike about this set up is the fact that Epson still does what its been doing for most its projectors which is basically building everything around its remote. With out the remote control the unit is pretty much useless in my opinion as most options and set up is done through it. The HDMI port allows for it be easily paired with any outside streaming services including, firestick, apple tv, and roku to name a few. Given the fact that your only given 1 HDMI port means that versatility of this unit is severely limited. With that being said though streaming videos over a good internet connection proved to be flawless with no video drop outs or color distortion. I really have to say once again the picture quality at 50" was phenomenal. I mean i was really impressed with just how vibrant the colors were for being a projector. It almost out performs some of my higher end T.V. set ups. Here's the bottom line guys, i don't want to bore you with all the specs and specifics of the unit as you can easily find that off of Best Buy's site. If your buying this unit your buying it for one of two reasons. Your either a person on the go who needs this unit for easy transportation of your business presentations or your looking for something compact that can be easily moved outside to watch movies as you fire up the BBQ grill. I would not buy this unit if you are trying to set up a permeant projector for a in home movie theater room as there are better quality units out there that allow for better versatility and sound. This is a great set up for those looking to bring a little extra entertainment during those long summer days or for those business people that are constantly on the go. The fact that it is a Epson means that you can rely on long lasting dependability without having to worry too much about laser failure. For me i like to display movies during the summer in the backyard while i grill, so the fact that it is compact and easy to set up without having to lug around a big unit is a big plus for me. Yes the 1 HDMI port sucks as it limits you to have to keep switching units out between services rather than just changing the input setting, which is a big reason this would not make a good permanent set up. Pros: -Awesome picture quality - Very easy to transport - Built in speakers - Auto correction for Skew - Built for streaming services Cons: - 1 HDMI port

This is a true gem! Very impressive

I'll start with the TLDR: If you want an ultra portable projector with fantastic picture quality, decent built in sound quality, for business or home use, get this. It's a FANTASTIC projector. Now the longer version. Unboxing: It was well packaged like any and all epson products I've ordered. The box is smaller than you'd think, that's because this unit is so small. Documentation was limited, as this unit doesn't need much. It's simple, so the quick start guide tells all you need. All together, unboxing took all of 2-3 minutes including time to dispose of packaging. The hardware: The unit is small, it is a matte black, textured finish all around. The lens is exposed, there is no lens cap (one of the only drawbacks), but not an issue if you store it in a case like I do. The power cord is over 6' so you shouldn't have issues reaching an outlet from the table/stand its on. The unit has one button, power. Everything is done via the remote. The remote is pretty compact, comfortable in hand. The lens has a focus ring, super easy adjustment. There is also a standard locking port if you want to secure the projector from theft. The connections: - 1 HDMI input. (Other drawback, it'd be really nice if there were 2, but alas, for compact, you get 1). - 1 USB A: THIS PROVIDES 5V/2A POWER. So if you connect a streaming stick to the HDMI port, power it from here. Super convenient. - 1 USB Mini port: for unit service - 1 3.5mm Audio/Headphone out jack. If you want to connect external sound rather than use the built in speakers, this is how you do it. Setup: VERY easy. Plug in power, plug in an HDMI cable and presto, you're live. Keystone is set via the remote (dedicated hot button - nice). Picture quality: Fantastic. It's 1080p, but it really shines (no pun intended). Unless you're sitting within 2-3' with projection more than 80" you don't notice any pixelation whatsoever. I've used this for business (document review) in meetings, I've watched movies on it. I've watched live sports (streaming) and I've played a few FPS games on my XBOX One. The quality remains in any application. Brightness: It's extremely bright given its' size. Are there other brighter projectors? yes. Are they this small? I've yet to see one this bright and this small. It is on par with our older (3 year old) epson Powerlite and that's physically a 2.5x bigger unit. It's viewable in a white sun filled room though it is a little washed out. But in a room without direct sunlight pouring in, this is fully daytime viewable, and if it's dim or dark in the room, boy oh boy this thing just looks so rich, vibrant and bright. Image Size: I projected as small as ~80" from about 7' away, up to about 200" at 15' away. Obviously the smaller it is, the brighter the image. But Think of a hotel ballroom for a wedding with 100 people, where the lights were dim on one half and full bright on the other half. This projector at 200" size in the dim half was viewable from 40' away to read a document on the wall. So, it is impressive. Audio: The unit's built in speakers are decent. For business use, they're loud and absolutely adequate. For home theatre use they wouldn't pass as awesome, but you'd already likely have your home theatre setup anyway, so who cares, right? For outside/movie night, they do well, but It's a good idea to sit within about 6' of the projector depending on the level of ambient noise around you. If you want to plug in something like a streaming stick or Apple TV, and you want audio out, just plug in to the 3.5mm output... Or, if you want to use digital audio output, and your device has HDMI arc, pickup an HDMI audio extractor (about $40) to connect that way. Overall: This is a fantastic projector. I struggled to find the 2 drawbacks I mentioned because it is a truly solid, quality and capable projector. You can't go wrong. Beta Test: This is a review for the Epson EF-11 Laser Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Great Mini Projector for Bright Rooms

Like the title of my review states: if you don't have the ideal conditions for enjoying the services of a projector then this should fit the bill. But this is still not the brightest and you can have a brighter projector for much less the price if you want. The other strength is portability. So if you need something that you can easily pack in your bags and move around with then this is a great buy. The lamp life is stated to be 20000 hours and that is a long long time. For the price, there could have been more video inputs and audio outputs. The portability states that there are basically no physical buttons present, which means without the remote the set will work. I would have appreciated if a physical slider was provided to guard the glass from damage and dust. The speakers are okay and if you know how projectors sound in general then you should know what to expect. For the price, this cannot be the best buy. It looks and works well and is ultra-portable. But a best buy depends on the intrinsic dollar value of a product and this is a tad too expensive than what it should be,

When I first opened the box and saw how small the Mini EF11 was, I thought I was missing something. Like a projector! But seriously, the unit is quite compact and lightweight. But don't let that fool you. It is actually a very capable machine. While not as bright as some of its larger cousins, the picture quality is very good and works well in darkened rooms or, as I have also used it, against the wall outside at night. Because of its size, this projector is easy to throw in a backpack for impromptu movie or sports nights anywhere you have power and a wifi connection. It's not completely portable by itself though because of the sound, which I'll get to shortly. There is a single HDMI input, single USB-A input (which can power a streaming stick), and a 3.5 mm audio jack. You will need the audio jack for sure as the built-in sound is mono only, is lackluster at best, and this unit does not have Bluetooth capabilities. That's my biggest hangup with the whole system and means you have to think about lugging an external speaker and connecting cable around with you. There is only one button, and it is for power. Everything else is controlled by the remote so if you lose that, you're pretty much done. The menus offer a wide array of adjustments and all quite intuitive. The automatic picture correction actually works quite well for fixing off-kilter views. It doesn't have auto focus as that can only be done manually. Not a big deal but something to be aware of. Finally, I was a bit surprised to find no dust cap or cover for the lens, especially for something that's designed for portability. I would think lens protection is a no-brainer, but apparently Epson doesn't agree. So just be careful if you are packing the EF11 around and keep a dust cloth handy.

Epson's Mini EF11 Laser Projector creates a no-hassle, pop-up theater in a compact, easy-to-operate device. Everything you need for a quick and easy viewing experience is only a button away. Out of the box, the projector is truly a portable device. Compared to others, the Mini EF11 is a fraction of the size and weight with a minimal box design and button layout. There is only one HDMI input and one USB type A slot, with no Bluetooth capabilities. There is an input for external audio, and the remote control has very basic functions. All that is to say it has a no-frills approach to getting you up and running. Connect your preferred streaming device, find a clean wall or projector screen to direct your video, and press power. That's it. The Mini EF11 has an auto-adjustment function that sizes and focuses the projection to wherever you are shooting, and the manual dial is available to fine tune the visuals as needed. The projector can shoot from a wide array of angles and directions, especially useful if you need to side mount the device or hang it upside down from a ceiling mount. The picture is clear and bright and can be projected up 150" diagonally at a maximum of 11 feet away, though it was noticeably blurry at the maximum distance. When weighed against the portability and ease of use, it is a small concession to an otherwise wonderful viewing experience. The built-in audio is surprisingly good, though depending on your room's acoustics, you may find yourself connecting the Mini EF11 to an external audio source for a richer sound. I found that connecting a small, reliable Bluetooth speaker through the audio jack provided the sound quality I wanted without compromising the portability aspect. Overall, the Epson Mini EF11 functions well in its bright, clear visuals and its efficient use of space. It can reliably provide a quick theatrical experience in almost any environment with very minimal setup, but it doesn't pretend to be able to replace your home theater either. Its simplicity and portability make it a highly recommended addition to any household. Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

The EpiqVision Mini EF11 is a great new very compact Lightweight Laser Projector from Epson. The projector has an HDMI port for connection to devices like a Roku, Chromecast or an Android streaming box, Game console or any device the puts out HDMI video. You can even connect to it as a remote screen using miracast from an android device. The projector can accept content up to 4K and projects it at 1080p 16:9 with HDR picture. In Dynamic mode the output is bright enough to be viewed in a well-lit room. I was impressed with the brightness and clarity of the image. Epson uses their 3 chip (3LCD) system to produce the best color possible. Set up is a snap, just plug it in, attach your video source to the HDMI, focus the picture and choose the mode. If you use a Streaming device you have a great way to send all that Streaming goodness to up to a 150 inch screen! Want to Game on a room sized screen go ahead. Most streaming device will allow you to cast to them from any computer as well. The projector has an integrated speaker and a headphone or external speaker output. Audio can also be sent though a Bluetooth connection from your connected device. Epson says the laser will last 20000 hours in normal/quiet mode (about 10 years) good bye expensive projector bulbs! There are better higher resolution projectors available for a lot more money but at this price I really like this projector, in most instances it will be the only one you will need.

Want a movie-theater-size projection of your favorite shows? Epson's Mini EF11 Laser Projector fits the bill. There's a lot to like here: - a very slim profile - it'll fit comfortably on a small shelf and takes up less space than an iPad. Height-wise it's about the same as a small mug. It also comes with a tripod mount so you can adjust for exactly where you want it pointed. It automatically and quickly adjusts the keystone. - turns on fast and operates quietly - doesn't generate a ton of heat for a projector with this good of a picture. - they aren't kidding about the 150" - you can make it smaller if you want, but it really does a fantastic job in all sorts of lighting conditions even at extreme widths. - they aren't kidding about plug-and-play for your favorite streaming services, either. A Google Chrome and Apple TV were ready to go the first time with no setup required beyond plugging in the HDMI cable. - the size of the remote is a little bulky, so that'll be an annoyance unless you have a universal remote of some sort. - the picture is gorgeous with tons of color depth, solid contrast, plenty of sharpness even on uneven surfaces like textured walls. Downsides? You may not have an empty, white wall big enough. Seriously. You may also want an HDMI splitter if you want to make it your primary display for multiple devices. Also, the built-in speakers won't cut it, so you will want some sort of external Bluetooth speaker option. Overall, Epson has created a really fantastic streaming media projector.

The Epson EpiqVision Mini EF11 has "mini" in the name but I was honestly shocked at just how small and light this laser projector is. It's about the size paperback book and I laughed when I opened the box as the box it comes in is huge versus the small size of the projector. Worth noting it does have a large external power supply, like what you would find on a laptop. The projector has no smarts on the unit itself. A power button and a lever for manual focus. Everything is controlled via the remote. Which is intuitive and the connection is via HDMI. There's a USB port if you want to plug in your Roku. The picture quality is excellent. I have done tests in a reasonably well-lit room (not natural sun light, overhead ceiling lights) and had no issues. I'm actually using this as a portable external monitor for small presentations. While the Epson EF11 doesn't come with a case/pouch. I have put the EF11, power supply, and an HDMI cable in a 15" laptop sleeve and just carry it with me everywhere. So doing a sales or client presentation, instead of everyone crowding around a laptop (not ideal when you want to social distance) I can just use any wall as a big screen. I've only tested for business video and audio and had no issues. Very impressed. Would recommend. Giving it 5 stars as the portability and quality is outstanding.

AVOID. I bought two. Both broke. Orange flashing LED, fan running like crazy. Two independent setups in different locations.
