This is great for a home office or traveling professional! It’s surprisingly quicker than I expected, the quality is pretty good, and the software features are impressive. I was easily able to scan a contract, and have it converted to full text. While it wasn’t perfect capturing text in darker shaded boxes, it did a pretty good job on clear text (darker font, light page). Capturing receipts was also a breeze and made submitting expense reports easy. I used this with a Windows 10 laptop, on the road, and never experienced a hiccup. Highly recommend this scanner if you need a portable solution, or already have a decent printer and don’t want to spring for an entirely new all in one solution.

It was very small and compact size and perfect to carry. It scans a single page in as fast as 5.5 seconds. This is amazing speed and quality of the scan is so good. The package has ES-55R scanner, Start Here Poster, USB Cable, Maintenance sheets, Nuance Software License Card and User's Guides. Setup is super easy and connected the scanner with provided USB cable into desktop computer. Also, i have downloaded the software from Epson site to use the full features of this smart scanner. ES-55R includes premium accounting features plus Epson Scan Smart accounting edition software to scan, review, save and organize scans. Also, it features Nuance OCR to easily create searchable PDFs, while the automatic feeding mode makes it easy to combine multi-page scans into file. Premium accounting features automatically extract data from receipts and invoices and export to QuickBooks online or excel. Epson Scan Smart accounting editions software to preview, email, organize, upload. Automatic file naming and receipt recognition feature is really helpful to save time storing and finding critical data and documents. It came with Nuance power PDF for windows and PDF converter for Mac keys which will allow to create, convert and assemble searchable PDFs, annotate, highlight and redact. It scans documents up to 8.5" x 72" as well as business / ID cards and receipts. It is UBS powered scanner which means it can be connected to the computer, no batteries or external power supply required. The scanned files can be sent directly to online storage accounts with the included software. Epson ES-55R exceeded my expectations and very compact and fastest document scanner. I highly recommend this scanner for portability and scanning speed.

I got this to use to copy documents while in court houses. Installation was very easy . I downloaded the proper driver from the Epson web site. There are two drivers. I selected the One for the ES-55R model. The scanner supports Windows 10. I am running Windows 10 and the Epson site selected the appropriate driver for me. The driver installation was easy . . During installation the scanner does a test scan which is nice. The scanner is small and very portable.Easily fits into a backpack or purse It comes with a USB 2 cable. Unfortunately the USB cable is only on the right side. It does not have the wireless scanning or a rechargeable battery unfortunately. Not available for iOS or Android. Scanning is as easy . Just insert the document and press the scan button. After a few seconds the Epson ScanSmart software will launch with a sample of the scanned document. The document can be zoomed in and out and moved around. You have a number of options including saving the scan, sending it by email or using the Receipt Manager. You can save the scanned document as a PDF file or as a JPEG image. The Portable Scanner is exactly what it sounds like - portable and light weight. I was shocked to open the box and see how small the scanner was and how little it weighed. It takes up barely any space which is a huge consideration when buying new products, you always need to find more room around the house or work to store them. Setting up the scanner was incredibly easy, with my computer I plugged it in and it searched automatically for the scanner and then I went on the website to download the drivers to install. All in all it took less than 5 minutes to do! Scanning is incredibly easy with the Epson scanner. You simply load your document in the scanner and press a button. It scans with complete clarity in just a few seconds. The software is very easy to use and you can do many things once the document is scanned including save, edit, attach to an email, send to Dropbox, etc. There is also a feature to manage your receipts. I will definitely continue using this to keep track of business receipts, as well as bills received so I dont have to keep the papers cluttering things up. Neat Little Electronic Organizer As a small business owner, I am always watching my expenses both for tax purposes and to see where my money goes! I love the portability of the Epson Workforce ES-55R. It is literally plug and use after your initial install. To use, you scan your receipt and the software loaded will let you export to Quickbooks, Excel or Email. I use Quickbooks so this melds perfectly to my accounting system. The software "knows" based on perimeters you set where the item should be accounted for in the filing system. I love the versatility of the scanner. You can scan a typical 8.5" paper or a business card. This scanner plugs into your laptop or desktop via USB cable and no other power is needed. I have a windows based computer but it is compatible with MAC also. I am super excited to use this scanner. It seems I "misplaced" receipts all the time because I frankly didnt want to take the time to enter in Quickbooks. This takes that step out. It's literally seconds to scan and the software does the rest. I am very satisfied. Using this scanner has been pretty pleasant so far. It consistently does what it needs to do, and the quality of the scans has been excellent after every use. I need to make copies on demand often for my job, and the results after using this scanner has saved me a trip to the print shop when I need a guaranteed high quality scan of a document to put in my files. Feeding into the machine has also never given me any issues, though it gives me slight issues when I'm attempting to put photographs into it. But black and white documents are what I've mainly used it for, and it's where it excels in my opinion. No fuzziness, faded sections, or the document comes out crooked. It works great! And it's also not that heavy or too awkward to lug around when you need to take it with you. Its a great little scanner if you travel alot. I'd definitely recommend this due to it's great performance so far, and it's ease of portability. Scanning documents and receipts has never been easier. I’m very impressed on how well it works. First of all, it’s very lightweight. Great to tote around in your bag and when you travel. It’s not big or bulky either. Scanning is very easy. We scanned a few receipts and some documents and it went quite smooth. Not sure if it was the ink, but the receipts didn’t come out too dark. I think that’s the only downfall. The set up was pretty simple too. You don’t have to be very tech savvy either. It took two tries because for some reason it froze on the set up screen for a lil while, but then it just connected. I love the convenience of this scanner. Works great and portable too. I picked up an Epson WorkForce ES-55R Portable Document Scanner ― Accounting Edition and I couldn't have made a better decision. This scanner makes my life so much easier! It's super light and portable, takes up very little room and is incredibly easy to use! It's also super quiet, and works like a dream! The organizational benefits of this scanner are off the charts! It makes it so easy to manage finances, and it even converts files to pdf and word and excel editable files! Just incredible and a total time saver! This scanner is very compact and easy to use. Just connect to your computer, download the software, and you are ready to scan. The only power needed is your USB connection. This is the perfect companion if you travel and would like to easily keep a record of your receipts. It seems to be durable and easy to store in a computer bag.

 Was searching online and came across this offer for an Epson scanner to be sent to me to try. Was skeptical but filled out the information. Wasn't long, i recieved an email saying I was selected and it was on the way. Couple days later the scanner arrived. It went right in and got started. Had a few documents and receipts I scanned and put to my cloud. The Epson scanner was really easy to set up and did a scan in only a few seconds. Would definitely recommend this product. You can scan receipts, cards and any type of document. Manage editable file and searchable PDFs. Export in quickbooks, turbotax, exel, quicken, dropbox, google drive and much more. I recommend 100% to anyone who wants to have a portable scanner, to take it everywhere. To work both at home and at work. It's fast and simple, you just have to give it a button to work, I recommend it.

Receipts. I hate them! They are small, difficult to handle and take up way too much room in my filing cabinet. However, if I want to claim those valuable business expenses, keeping and being able to locate the receipts for business expenses is essential. Happily, the Epson Workforce ES-55R Portable Sheet-fed Document Scanner Accounting Edition has come to my aid. I've used other Epson products in the past and, for the most part, they have gotten the job done and I liked them. This scanner does nothing to change my opinion. It only enforces it. Installation was about as easy at it comes. I downloaded the proper driver from the Epson web site. There are two drivers. One for the ES-55R model that I have and another for the Epson Workforce ES-55RW. Apparently the latter scanner features wireless scanning and a rechargeable battery. The model that I have has neither of these features. The scanner supports Windows 10 or Mac OS X. I am running Windows 10 and the Epson site selected the appropriate driver for me. The driver installation was easy and seamless. Almost automatic. Scanning is as easy as it can be. Simpy insert the document and press the scan button. After a few seconds the Epson ScanSmart software will launch with a sample of the scanned document. The document can be zoomed in and out and moved around with a mouse making it easy to examine the scan. Clicking the next button brings up a number of options including saving the scan, sending it by email or using the Receipt Manager. You can save the scanned document as a PDF file or as a JPEG image or as a Searchable PDF. The PDF is not super sharp but it is completely readable. This extremely lightweight and compact document scanner is easy to carry along in your laptop bag for wherever you may need it. At less than 10 ounces, It weighs barely more than a cell phone battery charger. It also requires no other connections than a micro-USB cable, so there are no bulky wires to keep up with. It scans one sided, a single page at a time, up to 8.5 inches wide. Once I got through the problems with setup (more about that in a moment), I had no issues scanning paper receipts, business cards, and letter-sized documents. After scanning a document, I can choose to treat it as a receipt and have information automatically extracted off of it, or I can send it as a document to Word or Excel for editing. There are also options to save the file straight to Evernote, Dropbox, or other similar services. Setup for the scanner was a little more difficult than it should have been, even for me, a software developer who has been working with technology for decades. After installing the software on my Windows 10 laptop and rebooting, my first tries to scan a document gave an error message showing the scanner was in use, even though it was not. I uninstalled the software, reinstalled it, and rebooted several times. Since technical support was closed for the evening, I shut down my computer and waited to call them the next day when they opened. The next day when support opened, I started everything back up and prepared to call. Strangely enough, everything started working as I was just about to call. Possibly I just needed a little more patience, but the setup process for the scanner could be improved. The setup process takes this scanner down from 5 stars to 3 stars. The good news is once I finally got the scanner working, it worked great and I didn't have any issues after that. The Epson WorkForce Es-55R is a remarkable machine. It's portability, USB connectivity and wireless capability are great for those scanning on the go. This scanner offers an incredibly clear scan, second to none. It is easy to setup and use. I will definitely recommend this to my friends.

I really enjoy this WorkForce portable document scanner. It was very easy to unpack and set up. The directions to download the drivers were simple to understand. Once I set up the scanner drivers. I just plugged in the device to my laptop. It powers on through the computer. No need for an outlet. I fed a document through the scanner and it instantly was uploaded to my laptop.
