Good: Automatic feeding mode, lightweight and compact, wireless connectivity (on the ES-60W).
Bad: Not intended for offices with heavy-duty scanning needs.
Bottom Line: With fast scanning speeds, these portable scanners are ideal for use in both the office and on the go.
This scanner works well for small businesses who scan a few documents a week and do not need to scan long (multipage) documents.
Pros: - small, lightweight, portable, fast - easy to set up - USB and WiFi connection options - scan from a mobile device or computer - charges via USB port on computer or USB charging outlet; no electrical cord needed - Epson scanner software lets you change scanner settings, including resolution and other parameters - OCR and receipt management software provided via Internet download - Windows and Mac compatible - the scanner passes the document straight through without bending; handy for ID cards, business cards, or in a dr type office for insurance cards- ability to save to Excel or Word documents, to Google Drive, Dropbox, attach to email, and more.

The light sabre of portable scanners

The WorkForce series continues to impress. This unit is so powerful for such a small and transportable size.
I set it up via the USB cable on my Surface Pro and via WiFi on my Galaxy S9 and both worked well and met my expectations. Initial charging took less than 45 minutes to a full charge.
The speed of scanning is outstanding and the quality of the scans in either scenario was excellent.
Pros:
Rechargeable battery Thin, slim size makes it easy to toss in my laptop bag Color scans are vivid Speed is impressing
Cons:
Using WiFi halts your internet connection to the laptop or smartphone No carry bag to protect from scratches (I am using the ~4 mil plastic bag it came in to protect; a ziplock top would be nice to have) USB connection to the scanner is not a USB C (have to match the end of the cable instead of the ease of USB C universal entry)
Overall this is a great unit for on the road professionals who need to capture images of receipts, business cards or reports in a much clearer manner than taking a picture on a cellphone.

In the box you have everything you need. The scanner, a USB cable and software links with security codes.
This install couldn't have been any easier. I attached the scanner and let it charge for a bit. Then I went ahead and used a Samsung adapter to charge it from an outlet. Once it was close to fully charging, I reattached it to my laptop and downloaded the software.
Ready for its first scan, I inserted a document. It takes a couple of tries to figure it out, but if you just place the document in the slot and ease it in, the unit will grab it and line it up. I figured out it has automatic feeding, so I can scan multiple sheets and make a single PDF. Make sure the back side is clear as my first scan hit the laptop on the way out. That caused it to mess up the bottom portion. Other than that, it worked great on the second pass.
I did have an issue with the install where it asks you to choose a wired or wireless connection. I first chose USB wired, but I know I'd like it to be wireless. I thought I could run the installer again and have the option of both. I don't think that's the case with this unit. The installer let me run it a second time and choose wireless, but I don't think I have the option to use it either way. I'll find out, but for now, I think I have to pick one or the other.
What else? It has a battery indicator with 3 levels. The needed software, ScanSmart with Nuance OCR built in is available as well as Epson's updater software. I think this is going to be a handy and welcome addition to my portable workstation.

If you need a scanner, they don't come any more convenient than this! Wireless and so small that I can throw it in my computer bag and scan documents and receipts on the go. PDFs are searchable, which makes the scanned documents easier to find when I need them. You can even scan documents to your cell phone or tablet. Scans are clear and crisp, and colors are true.

Easy plug & play. Get to work right out of the box

After receiving and testing my Epson WorkForce ES-65WR Wireless Portable Document Scanner I have come to the conclusion that it has A LOT of great features and limited negatives. That says something right there. The Epson developers obviously put a lot of thought into the development of this model.
Overall I really enjoyed using this scanner. It’s plug in play set up is very user friendly so that you can get scanning right out if the box. Being lightweight and portable is also a plus. I would definitely recommend this to my friends & family, however I’d caution them that if they need to scan high volumes of documents that this probably isn’t the best model for that.
The fact that you have to do each document one at a time by hand is a bit tedious. However, this model never claimed to be a high volume scanner & it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me, though. And sometimes the rollers for feeding the document would almost slip and not grab & pull the document through. I’m not sure how much of that was user error vs an actual problem with the scanner itself
It claims that the Wireless-N (802.11b/g/n) connectivity makes it easy to scan documents to computers and mobile devices on your network and to the Cloud. Epson ScanSmart Accounting Edition software lets you send documents to your PC or Mac computer, and the Epson DocumentScan App allows you to scan to your Android or iOS mobile device. However, I did have some issues when connecting to send the scanned images to my cloud.
I know that this is a document scanner meant more for scanning things like receipts, but I do wish the developers wouldve gone ahead & taken the extra step to make it have the option to scan at a higher dpi so that I could also scan photos, greeting cards, business cards, etc because I’d use it for my design work more. As it is I can use it to scan most things I need, but not everything. I think leaving this small upgrade out was a missed opportunity.
The claims that it is “Lightweight, portable design makes it easy to take this scanner with you.” Is very true. It surprising just how light and easy to move around that it is
I absolutely love the included Nuance® OCR software that lets you create searchable PDF files as well as Microsoft® Word® and Excel® files that you can edit. This is huge for us when we need to create editable pdf files! It makes it so easy rather than having to recreate the file, pretty much from scratch, to make it editable.

Great little scanner!! It is the perfect size for carrying in your laptop bag or briefcase, and would not take up much room in a carry on or suitcase. I run wrestling tournaments and travel a lot. Before now I had to bring stuff home that needed to be scanned but now I can just pull this bad boy out and do it right there! OHH and not to mention the space it is going to safe on my desk at home. It scans fast and make clear readable copies!!
The only thing I was not super thrilled about was set up. Most everything I have is plug and play so it took a little longer to download all the needed info. Once I had all that it took forever to get it to connect to my laptop via USB and I didn't feel that the directions that came in the box were very clear to connect wirelessly. I pulled up the user manual from the installed software looking for an answer. After some digging I figured out how to connect wirelessly and then had to dig some more to figure out how to get it to connect b USB. If the included instructions had been more clear/included a troubleshooting section and/ or the user manual had better topic headings I would have saved myself time and frustration (just needed to restart my computer to connect USB).
Over all a great little product and time and frustration on the setup will definitely will be made up by portability and convenience.

Every Family Needs This
I was very impressed with this "little" scanner. Super easy to use and hook up to your home computer. When I first hooked it up it took about an hour to completely charge. And it did take me a little while to connect, update and download everything needed, but I am not the most technical person in my family. It was easy ( once I figured it out ), just took me a couple of times to figure it out. When you are fully charged you can access all of the functions of this amazing scanner. Super small and compact, easy to take with you anywhere you may go. Scan and process all of your important documents on the go. Now you don't have to ask your friends or family to bring their documents or photos to you. Now you can go to them, scan and go. Great for a business woman on the go or your family historian. Copy, share and move on. That easy and that simple. I highly recommend this to anyone that scans and documents alot of documents. This scanner is so small and portable! I love it. Set up out of the box was so simple. I was able to get the wireless connection set up quick and easy. This is a life saver for work! I work in the field often and clients typically bring original documents that they cannot give to me and then I wait for copies or emails to come in. This allowed me to just scan and go and have the documents in my possession prior to leaving the client meeting! Winner! Money Maker!
The quality of the scans are clean and easy to read. I still can’t believe how quick this product is. The time that will be saved using this product has me so excited.
First plug in the item and wait for the battery to be fully charged.. If the battery is not full, you will have some difficulties setting up the wireless connections. Once the connection is set up the device will automatically change back and forth between wireless connection and usb. I used my cellphone as a hotspot to connect and get the documents scanned in. No hiccups.. and I’m not the most tech savvy person. Honestly of you have documents you need to scan on the go or receipts that you want to keep track of this device is great and so tiny yet powerful! The Epson WorkForce ES-65WR is small and portable, but not a "lightweight" by any means. It scans documents quickly and lets you manage receipts with TurboTax and Quicken online. You can save your scanned documents to multiple formats, such as JPEG (image), PDF and CSV (spreadsheet) files.
I ran the Epson ES-65WR through several tests--a printed letter-sized document, a plastic ID card and various receipts. The printed document, text and images, came out the best. Receipt scans were not as crisp, even with higher resolution settings.
For this scanner, the software is as important as the scanner itself. You can adjust the scanner via the Epson software and manage receipts via additional (provided) optical character recognition (OCR) and receipt management software. When using the receipt management software, be sure to review each scan, as the software does not always "see" the correct numbers if the receipt is complex.
This scanner would work well for individuals or small businesses who scan a few documents a week and do not need to scan long (multipage) documents.
Pros:
- small, lightweight, portable, fast
- easy to set up
- USB and WiFi connection options
- scan from a mobile device or computer
- charges via USB port on computer or USB charging outlet; no electrical cord needed
- Epson scanner software lets you change scanner settings, including resolution and other parameters
- OCR and receipt management software provided via Internet download
- Windows and Mac compatible
- the scanner passes the document straight through without bending; handy for ID cards and business cards
- ability to save to Excel or Word documents, to Google Drive, Dropbox, attach to email, and more
Cons:
- sometimes the scanner does not feed the document and needs a nudge
- there is a lag between the "start scan" button press and when the document travels through the scanner
- the scanner software showed an error message when I tried to calibrate the unit with the provided calibration card

This scanner was easy to set up. Depending on wifi speed could take a little bit to set up. Mine was running extra slow and of course on a day I couldn't wait to test this out. This scanner is small and compact, making it ideal to take along with you on business trips. I love the fact it has wifi capability so I dont just have to sit at my boring work desk while scanning.
The program itself was very self explanatory and easy to use as well. Instructions on screen walk you thru and make it a breeze. Exporting those files out is easy as well, everything in this program walked you thru it. Best part is you can export to your smart phone for files that need sent immediately.
I did play around with it and scanned photos, thinking this would be a great way to back up any photos you have. As I'm not durr of the quality of the photo yet. I figured it was still a great idea so I didnt loose those precious memories.

In the past year I have owned a few portable scanners and this one is the most portable one I ever used. It is super small, light and doesn't need a separate power cable. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it only scans one side of a document at a time. With that being said, If you need to scan dual sided or multiple sheets of paper you may want to check out one of the slightly larger scanners. If you are scanning some receipts or just a few sheets of paper this should work well for you.

I had received my Epson WorkForce ES-65WR portable scanner a few weeks ago and its absolutely amazing! By far the best scanner I've used. I downloaded the app onto my Android phone, set up and connected my printer to my phone and wifi, and it worked like a champ. I've had no issues setting up or connecting the device to my smart phone and my windows 10 laptop.
The scanner scans everything pretty quickly and loads onto the screen instantly. I love that your able to edit files as well as have searchable PDF's. I love how lightweight the scanner is, makes it very easy to pack up and to use for when I'm on the go. I highly recommend this scanner to anyone looking for a great, convenient, and high quality scanner. Don't let the size or portability of this scanner fool you. This bad boy is light weight, scans quickly, and the Google Play app downloaded and worked without any issues. My husband and I have been doing a lot of outdoor projects lately and I found this portable scanner to he a lifesaver when scanning and uploading receipts, contracts, and rebates. Previously, we were storing all our items in a folder which isnt very safe or efficient if heaven forbid something happen to our home. Knowing these special items are digitally stored for us has been a huge relief. I am very impressed by this scanner and have proudly recommended it to friends and family. This is the perfect scanner for a frequent traveler or if you have a tiny workspace. Two things most impress me; the size and speed. I don’t like a lot of clutter in my home office and I love the fact that this scanner is compact and can be stored in a desk drawer when it’s not being used. The other great thing is how quickly it scans. When you turn it on, it’s ready to go and the scans are speedy with excellent quality.
Set up was pretty straight forward. Install the drivers and scanning software and you’re all set. Overall this is a great scanner for it’s intended purpose - portable, compact and quick.
