Customers are enthusiastic about the Expression EcoTank ET-2700's print quality and ease of use, with many praising its compact size. However, some users found the setup process challenging, and others experienced difficulties with the Wi-Fi connectivity. A few also noted that the printer can be somewhat noisy during operation. Overall, the positive feedback on print quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding setup and Wi-Fi.

Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer is a ideal for busy household and people who printer a lot. The printer has easy to fill super size ink tanks, Epson claims the ink would last at least 2 years equivalent to 20 ink cartridges. Unbeatable combination of value and convenience . Have been using this printer for past two weeks, haven’t had any issue. It took only 10 -15 minutes to setup the printer I would really recommend this printer to others.
Pros:
Easy to setup
Fast printing , great performance , less noise
Print wifi from Laptop, tablet, mobile devices, supports google print.
Compact design, saves space
Low-cost replacement inks
Easy to refill inks
Excellent print quality
Supports Power Saving - Power Off Timer and auto sleep timer
Cons :
Doesn’t have auto-feeder for scanner
The input tray can hold only 100 sheets.
Doesn’t support 5Ghz wireless
No WoWLAN [Wake on Wireless LAN] support
Doesn’t have Scan to a Flash Drive or Memory Card option
Overall - a great printer

The small office printer you can set and forget!

After only a few weeks of usage our office staff have fallen in love with this printer!
Setup is not like your conventional printer as ink filling and priming process is a little complicated and takes a few minutes but we had zero issues getting it setup and followed the instructions to a T. They were very clear on each step and had nice pictures/diagrams to walk you through the process. Once you get it filled and primed print to your hearts desire!
We do a LOT of copying of small diagrams, sticky notes, scraps of paper etc. Not once did we have any issue with the printer throwing an error message because it wasn't a "standard size of paper", throw it on the glass, push the black or color button, 7 seconds later you've got your copy. The scanner unit seems of really great quality as our copies both black and color came out exceptional.
One thing that has made this machine easier to use and caused less issues in our office was the lack of a screen or many buttons. We have often had people play with all of the settings and get the printer all messed up constantly complaining about something wrong because someone got curious and started pushing buttons. Have no fear with this guy! Initially I was a little disappointed that it didn't have a new space age LCD screen to set it up and configure it, but it has been a huge blessing in disguise! With only 6 buttons including the power button we have not once had anyone mess this thing up. Need a copy? Press the black or color button. Done. No 20 questions about paper size, paper type, scaling, photo quality, etc. It was actually very refreshing.
Wireless printing (setup through the software via USB cable initially) worked great from several of our phones without issue.
Its small size was quite nice, stays out of the way, and no big ugly power brick, it just plugs straight into the wall.
Excited to see how long the ink really lasts, Epson claims 2 years for the average person, but we use it more than average id say. It really does come with and holds a TON of ink. I was shocked to see the size of the bottles it came with and thought no way was it going to take all of it and boy did it prove me wrong. Easily being able to see the ink levels on the front (like actual liquid in the tank not a screen that says how much is supposedly in each cartridge) is really convenient and a neat feature (makes us feel better knowing we aren't getting scammed on ink cartridges, we can actually SEE how much is in there).
We only have 2 small gripes about this printer.....
1) It doesn't hold a ton of paper for what we use it for, but I'm sure this is totally a non issue for a home or work from home kind of user.
2) A second tray or stack bypass for envelopes would have been nice. Having to pull out the plain paper and move the holder arms in for when we do billing envelopes and then back when we are done is kind of inconvenient but not the end of the world as we don't really use it that much.
Overall we are extremely pleased with the speed and quality of this printer and hope it lasts us many years!

Great Home Printer/Copier

This device is a great personal or home office printer. Because of the seperate ink tanks (black, yellow, cyan, magenta) you could save lots of money on ink. You buy the ink in bottles and add ink to each tank as needed. It comes with lots of ink in the box, enough for about 2 years of average household printing per Epson. Both black & white and color print quality is great and it has a button on the printer to switch from printing text documenets or graphics & photos, that way it knows how to apply the ink to get the best quality results. The setup was not the easiest I've done because of the lack of no screen, only buttons. This means you have to connect it to a computer or laptop via USB cord to complete the setup. However once you've finsihed the basic setup you can connect it to your wi-fi and unplug the cord. You can also print to it from your phones and tablets via wi-fi as well.
Overall I think it's a great printer, a bit pricey however I think the savings on ink cartridge purchases will more than make up for the initial cost of the printer itself.
Pros: Good quality prints, direct wi-fi printing, separate ink tanks for each color so that you only have to re-fill as needed, simple easy to use prints & copies.
Cons: No on-device screen (however not needed after setup), no automatic duplex printing, must connect via USB cord for initial setup.

Purchase this printer to replace my old brother all in one .
Call customer support for not being able to see the printer from my other devices other than my Mac that i use to set up Epson.
I found out in order to wifi print from any device you need to install separate Epson App and to make things worse you need to allow access of this app to all your documents , pictures and anything else from your phone or any other device you want to print from.
At one time Epson app on my mac was asking me access to my keychain.I just could not Believe it.Try to print picture from my Iphone and app keeps telling me format not supported . So to print something you need to jump through the hoops and on top of that they have full access to all your documents.JUNK

I want to start by saying that I in the past the majority of printers I have bought were HP. This was my first time using an Epson and I was pretty pleased with it.
The box states that the printer’s ink supply should last up to 2 years. That is extremely impressive. My printers in the past have always ran out of ink quickly and then the price of ink was sometimes almost equal to buying a brand new printer. This printer does not use regular ink cartridges though. Instead it uses ink tanks. I was a bit intimidated by the set-up of the ink tanks and the printer itself. I thought it would be super messy so I prepared the area where I was setting it up and it was actually easy. No mess!! I was surprised.
Setting up the actual printer was a little tough for me. I am not a techie but I have set up all of my own printers and electronics on my own in the past. Usually it is pretty easy, put the cartridges in, fill paper, download software and you’re good. This printer set up was not as easy for me. I fumbled a few times but eventually got all of my devices connected wirelessly.
The printing quality using this printer is AMAZING!! Once I seen how bold and crisp. Man, I could not believe how good it looked. That sold me on this printer. In the beginning, I was liked it- it isn’t really big, very lightweight, the idea of not constantly having to buy ink, etc. The set-up put me off and then I printed my first page… That was it for me. This is definitely a keeper!!
Needless to say, my HP was given to my sister and the Epson is the one I will be using.

Great Printer once you get it setup

My overall experience with the printer was good and I would purchase this printer. The ink does last a long time. The printer may be expensive but is worth the price from the price you save on ink. The refills are very affordable compared to normal inkjet printers.
The setup process doesn’t work well but once it setup, the print quality is really good. For mobile printing on iOS is really difficult. You have to go through multiple steps to print each item. Printing from a PC works well. The remote printing works quickly. I’ll go through more detailed information below.
Setup:
There are a lot of steps involved in setting up the printer. Be careful when putting the ink in as if pull it out of the printer too fast as it will splash some drops of ink but one nice thing about the bottles is that the tops are like a key so you can’t put the wrong color in the the wrong ink well. Don’t throw away the little bit of ink that is in the bottle because after you charge the ink, you will nee the remaining left in the bottle. It tells you how to do charge the ink in that installation step. When you install the software, it will also remind you.
When you get to the “Install Software” step, you will need to go to a different part of the Epson website than what is listed on the instructions. That website takes you to the correct software but it is a longer and not as easy to type as the one listed in the instructions. The website address is located on the first piece of paper that you pull from the box.
During the software installation, the step under the wifi setup that allows you to use the current settings on the computer doesn’t work. You will also have to make sure the wifi light is blinking otherwise you have to hold the wifi button on the printer. At that point, you will either have to use WPS setup or a temporary USB connection to finish setup. If you set it up as a direct USB connection, you cannot change to a wireless connection unless you uninstall the software file. You also have to uninstall the software if you want to change the wifi network or settings. The rest of the setup works really well after the connection is made.
After you get through the software installation for the printer, you will install the scanner software and then have the option to setup remote printing. Remote printing is nice to have if you want to print when you are away from home. You will install a different printer name for remote printing. After you are through that, you’ll create a Epson Connect account. It will automatically assign a printer email address instead of allowing you to select it right away. It does give you the option to go to the printer settings to change the email address at the very end. I highly recommend doing this so that the email address is extremely easy to remember so you can setup other devices to use the email to connect other devices, such as, a mobile device with remote printing. When you are done with that, the printer is fully ready to use.
Using the printer or scanner on a PC:
It is very easy to print any type of document or photo. It gives you options to easily change the settings to print the correct type of document or photo. The printer holds a very good amount of paper so you don’t have to worry about running out of paper quickly. The output tray is much smaller than the paper tray so if you are printing a large document or lots of small items, you’ll need to take the paper out so it doesn’t start pushing paper out. The ink lasts a really long time. I’ve printed out many documents and pictures and the ink level barely decreased.
Scanning items is also easy. You just open up the scanner software and follow the steps. You can save in multiple file types to allow you to open the item in other software.
Using a iOS mobile device:
The printer does not support AirPrint so you have to download the Epson app to be able to print. Once it is installed and setup, you need to enable the software to show up in the share menu. One of the downfalls of using the software to print, you can only set the page range to print without skipping pages. You have to go through the print steps again and select a new page range to skip the page. Another option is to use the print option for iOS and select the pages you would like to print and use 3D touch or gestures to bring up the document with just the pages you would like and share it to the Epson app. You also need to check the print settings after every print if you are changing the settings as it will default to the previous settings. In order for the setting changes to take effect, you need to hit done otherwise the changes won’t save. After these are set, the printing goes very smoothly. If you want to use remote printing, you’ll use the email address you created for the printer to enable it. It will remember the email address so you don’t have to worry about it again. It also allows you to add multiple printers so you can choose which Epson printer you would like to use. Once you have figured out all the settings, printing is extremely easy.
Recommendation:
I would definitely buy this printer to save all the money on ink as it comes with full bottles which can handle printing for up to two years. Once you figure out the steps for all different printing options, you’ll have no problem using this printer.

The Epson ET-2700 is an awesome printer!
I’ve been very impressed with the print quality so far. It prints fairly quickly which makes it very convenient. My sister in law asks for things to be printed all the time. Now I won’t feel the pressure of ink shortages because of the volume of ink the printer can hold.
I really like how clean and simple the printer looks. One of my favorite things about the printer is I can see exactly how much ink is left. The initial set up with a PC, adding the ink, and adding the printer to my network the was simple. Having said that the initial set up on our cell phones/tablets took some time to get the printer to work. I think it is a big miss to not include Airprint out of the box. We were looking for the printer and troubleshooting the issue when a buddy recommended we try the Epson print app. That’s the only way we were able to connect iOS to the printer to print. Google has an option in the configuration but Apple is surprisingly absent. As of 10/26 the epson print app allows me to print from a web page, I was able to test this today and it printed flawlessly from the webpage. I won’t speculate as to why Airprint was excluded. Just know that to print from an iOS device you must install the Epson print app. I did update the printer to the latest firmware.
I think one of my favorite features included in the APP is the ability to scan to my phone. I turn on the APP, place the paper or thing I want scanned on the scanner, and hit Scan on the app. It scans and delivers the image to my phone or tablet like expected. I have other scanners and they require an email address to scan to… This scans directly to the APP over WIFI. So there is truly wireless scanning that I haven’t found with other devices.
Like I said the above the print quality is superb, the scan functionality is a very cool feature that I will use, the tanks of ink are cool and I affectionally call this printer the “Super Tanker” because it will print so much on the ink provided. The miss is Airprint is NOT standard but could probably be added with firmware updates. Overall the printer is great to use.

First thing up front: I highly doubt you will be disappointed in this All-in-One Printer!
So, the first thing I liked was feeling how light the box was after it arrived at my doorstep. At some point, someone has to move or lift this occasionally.
I was looking forward to seeing how the tanks work and just how messy it will be to fill them up, from time to time. I was also looking forward to the ease of setup printers have to be now-a-days. Lastly, I was also looking forward to the print quality and how far it has gotten, based on my 4-year-old Canon. I can say that all was almost great!
Now I found the print quality to be outstanding. I printed the same document on my older one and this ET-2700 and how I have lived with that older one? I never noticed. The colors are sharp and the black is very crisp looking. Some of the pictures I have hanging around have all been reprinted and look so much better on my office walls!
The setup was frustrating. I’m a techie engineer, so of course I will get anything to “work” and I was hoping this would just be an easy thing. Well, it is if you’re good with having to use a USB cable. I did this from a MAC and it went well. One time it said it didn’t load but I did it again and it worked like I’d expect. I just thought it would just “work” with Wi-Fi or something. Of course, there isn’t a fax or LCD included, so doing this on the printer wasn’t expected.
Now the fill-up process! Man, was I surprised! I thought for sure there would end up being drips down the side of the tank, puddles under the printer or some other mess. There wasn’t. I tried to be “rough” putting the ink in. Normal rough, not blatantly squeezing the bottle, but accidently putting black into the yellow. No ink spilled as I discovered the slots aren’t the same, so you family members “have” to do it right. On top of all of this, you can see the levels from the front! Now we all will know when the ink is really “out” from now on. I was skeptical; I’m good now!
All of our Android devices, iDevices, MACs and yes, a windows PC all print to the printer just fine. It is quick but I don’t expect it to be fast if I think an 8x10 is important enough to print. I like this printer. We even have been able to scan with it very easily!
I’ve tested quite a few things and this is one of the few that I plan to continue to use! This is a review for the Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I got this printer for use in my home. I don't print a lot, but when the need arises it needs to be of high quality and color.
From the start the printer was easy to set up and extremely easy-to-use. The instructions were more than adequate and the wifi printing is super-easy. The quality and speed of the printed pages is amazing! My only con to this printer is that it seems a bit loud when feeding paper, otherwise it's 5-stars!
I HIGHLY recommend this printer!

This is a review of the Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank Supertank All-in-One Printer (yeesh, quite a mouthful, no?) It's the entry level model of the latest series of EcoTank printers so it's not going to have all the bells and whistles like auto document feeder or LCD control panels, things you may find you don't really need anyway.
By now you've probably already seen the feature list (2 YEARS of ink included although who knows exactly how the costs will break out in real world usage) and the big price sticker. So I'm going to concentrate on how the unit installs and works and leave the number crunching to you.
First impression...
Wow, this thing is tiny compared to other AIO units. No fancy-schmancy swoops and curves and colors, just a basic, dark grey box. That's great, I don't need my tech tools to look like the maker spent more time on the esthetics than they did on the functionality. I like the textured scanner glass cover, hides the fingerprints well.
Initial setup...
The instructions are a nice mix of pictures and words. I'd advise reading ahead and not just following each instruction as soon as you read it because the details are sometimes a bit out of order. Example...."unpack the ink bottle and remove cap". Then down below a ways, right after a picture of how to unscrew the cap, there's a note that says not to shake the bottle. Well, guess what I did right before I unscrewed the cap because I hadn't read ahead?
I pulled off the omnipresent blue tape strips, you know, the kind that printer makers use and always seem to find a way to hide that last one?
Oh, thanks Epson, it says not to drink the ink! Lawyers.
I never had a printer with liquid ink in bottles so filling this one was a unique experience. Epson cleverly designed the bottle connectors so that you couldn't accidentally put the wrong color in the wrong tank (talk about a disaster!). They also designed in a check valve system so that the ink only flows when you attach the bottle to the tank. The tanks fill fairly quickly with a satisfying gurgle and when full, the flow stops. Kudos, Epson!
But just when you think you're now ready to fire it up and run some test print jobs you discover that it takes more than 10 mins to "charge" the lines. I have no idea why it takes so long but unless you run the lines dry (is that even possible?) then this should be the only time you have to endure this delay.
Then you fill the paper tray or more correctly, the paper chute. I really, really wish it had a conventional enclosed "drawer" for the paper because in dusty environments the exposed paper gets to be a mess if you don't print often.
Note...if you don't plan on hooking this up directly to your computer's USB port, you will still need a USB A-B cable because that's how you set up the wifi networking parameters if your router doesn't have WPS.
Ok, so ready to load software and run those test prints! Epson puts a paper in the box to tell you to download the software rather than use the included CD. No big deal, I usually opt for that route for any hardware device.
Software downloaded annnnnnd.....here's where it all goes sideways for me! Quite frankly, the Epson software is horribly antiquated. For example, it doesn't allow you the choice of which components you want to install. Then once I got to the networking section, it failed miserably. I tried both DHCP and manually entering the IP info and the installer kept showing failure. It couldn't find the printer even though it had actually gotten an IP and I could ping the IP. The only choices were to quit entirely or retry. Retry didn't work. Retry multiple times didn't work. When I finally quit the install, I noticed that Windows recognized the printer and I could print to it but tools like Epson Scan 2 still couldn't find the scanner. I could even scan using third party scanning software.
So I had to call Epson support and spend forty minutes over two phone calls and multiple removals/reinstallations. And uninstalling is equally antiquated as you have to uninstall each of the 7 components separately! Eventually "Jay", the smart tech I got on call #2, suggested we try forcing the Scan 2 software to install as Administrator (my user account is already an administrator). Viola, Scan 2 finally found the scanner and I was in the printing and scanning business! (Stupid Windows 10!)
Not only is the Epson installation software antiquated, but the UI for the programs and tools are straight out of the 90's. C'mon Epson, at least make an effort instead of using the same software you've had for decades.
Printing...
Generally speaking, I'd say the text print quality is quite good although I noted that the print looks a tiny bit bolder than other Epson and HP inkjets I have. If you break out the magnifying glass you might some flaws but with the naked eye I think you'll be very satisfied.
I think the printer is a bit more "clackity" on the noise front than I'd prefer but it doesn't make a lot of extraneous noises like many printers. It makes noise, prints the job and that's it. You won't have times when you wonder what in the heck is it doing with all of this back and forth movement before and after print jobs. That's much appreciated.
Photo prints tend to have a slight bluish tint to them. Try as I might, I could not find a way through the poorly designed printer tools to make the blue tint go away but I'm convinced there must be a way, right Epson? Oh, don't expect a speedy print job on photos using photo paper. It took nearly 3 mins to print a 4x6 picture where, with the same quality levels, my ancient HP OfficeJet 7580 took 45 seconds and had equal quality.
I also got mixed results with Epson iPrint for my Android devices (how did Apple miss that one?) On a Samsung Galaxy S7 the photos would show 100% sent but the printer would stop with about ½ inch left unprinted. Eventually, if you left it alone for about 15 mins, the print would spit out and the last part would be only partially printed. Yet on a Galaxy S8+ the pictures printed completely. Both devices have the same Android OS version so I have no idea why it didn't work on the S7. I will say that iPrint installed quickly and set itself up without any need to be a network expert so I deem it "grandparent -proof".
Scanning...
The ET-2700 is quite good at scanning (and copying). It's fast and virtually silent. Comparing the original to the scanned copy shows a very slight loss of color depth on color documents but regular B&W documents are essentially identical to the original.
It should be noted that while you can initiate a scan from the printer's front panel and send it to your computer, that feature is only supported when using it on a USB connection. With a wireless connection you can only initiate a scan from a computer. For me that's not a negative, I prefer to be able to manipulate the scan properties at the computer and would never want to initiate a scan from the printer.
In closing, ignoring the shortcomings of the software for the moment, this is a pretty solid machine and would be a no-brainer for someone that does a decent volume of printing. I could see this working well in a home office/small office situation despite Epson targeting consumers with this model. I couldn't find a monthly volume rating but the standard warranty is 12 months OR 50,000 print jobs so I'll presume about 4000/mo is the duty cycle.
I'd probably rate the ET-2700 a 4 or 4.5 out of 5 if the software situation was resolved so it's a bit unfortunate that Epson chose to ruin a good opportunity for a breakthrough in how people perceive ink-jet printers by slacking off on the software.

The Epson Expression Ecotank ET2700 Wireless All-In-One printer is a solid printer that will meet or exceed your basic printing needs.
This printer initially started to disappoint me as the setup process was quite frustrating. I struggled to get the wireless to start the setup process, it took about 8 minutes to get the device to get into the setup mode. However once I was able to get it setup on wifi, installing onto other computers and mobile devices was a breeze.
The printer has a great concept with refillable ink tanks, the refill process was surprisingly easy. I was concerned about spilling ink during the refill process, Epson clearly put some thought into this process and ensured the ink delivery system was easy to use yet reliable as not a single drop occurred when starting or stopping the refill process.
The scanning feature of the printer is a no frills scanner, place paper scan and go. It would have been nice to have a compact auto feeder, but fully understand the compromise of the size versus feature set.
The quality of printing is very good, color jobs look good on both standard paper and photo paper. Colors are crisp and clear and pages are quick to dry reducing smudging or streaking as the print job finishes. I've spent only the past few days with this printer but have put over 100 color pages through it with no issues. I have printed from both laptops and android Tablet and phone. The Epson IPrint & Epson Print Enabler app make printing from mobile devices a breeze. This makes printing very convenient as I no longer need to send stuff between devices just so I could print from the laptop, now I can do it right from my mobile devices!
Based on my limited initial use, I would recommend to others this mid-range printer. Aside from my experience with the setup I have no complaints with the features and functionality. I've seen other reviews where the initial setup was a challenge, don't let this deter you from considering this printer as everyone's experience will be slightly different and once it's setup, the printer performs exceptionally well!
