Customers are enthusiastic about the Expression EcoTank ET-2700's print quality and ease of use, with many praising its compact size. However, some users found the setup process challenging, and others experienced difficulties with the Wi-Fi connectivity. A few also noted that the printer can be somewhat noisy during operation. Overall, the positive feedback on print quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding setup and Wi-Fi.

I'm sure it was just my turn and others are happy clams. It was cumbersome to install on a Windows pc, but was finally seen after a few hours of many retries. Then we (wife, daughter, myself) were never able to connect our phones or tablets.

Nice Printer, But Setup Is Unnecessarily Complex

Out of the box I started a love/hate relationship with this printer.
Aesthetically it looks great, it’s sleek and relatively compact so it won’t take up too much space on your desk.
This was my first experience using a printer from the Eco Tank line. I actually have not used an Epson printer in quite a few years. My last one randomly just stopped printing even though the cartridges were full, and it was more cost effective to just get a new printer rather than trying to get the Epson repaired. The HP that I got has worked flawlessly ever since.
The box claims that the included ink will last you up to 2 years, or 5,200 pages. Obviously I can’t vouch for that since I have only been using this for a couple of weeks, but I would definitely believe it.
Filling the ink is quite easy however I did have several “what if” thoughts as I was doing this. Included in the box are four heavy duty plastic bottles filled with each of the standard ink colors. Instead of cartridge slots like other printers you have probably used, this has “tanks” or individual reservoirs for each color. To fill, you unscrew the cap for the color, turn it upside down, and fit it into the slot above its color and push down. The ink will then start filling the tank. These bottles are made very well, I was worried about residual ink leaking out or spraying when I pulled the bottles off however none of that happened. It’s an instant seal once you remove them. Several thoughts did cross my mind however. What happens if you accidentally put the Cyan ink in the Black tank? I mean, I triple checked the bottle labels vs. the tank labels to be SURE I put the right one in but there has to be someone out there who might be rushing and think the dark dark blue looks black. There’s really no support information regarding that, and I found no documentation that describes there being a mechanism of “emptying” the tanks in case that happens. To that point, let’s say you’re moving to a new house, or let’s say you get a new printer and want to sell this one on eBay or what not – can you transport/ship it with the tanks full? Would it leak if it was shaking around in a moving car? Again, there’s no documentation speaking to this.
After filling the ink was when I started to loathe the printer – everything I found good about it thus far in the unboxing and everything immediately flew out the window when I had to begin the wireless setup. The last two printers that I have purchased, one being an Epson, have had touch screens on the front that easily let you navigate through setup and options and all of those kinds of things. You could just tap and go to Wireless set up, discover networks around you, and join yours. Now this printer does not have one of those, which is no big deal to me at all, because as a tech savvy person, I know that devices like these usually have some kind of phone app or easy to use software that lets you connect via Bluetooth, or to its own direct network, and then will let you choose your preferred wireless network, enter your password for it if there is one, tap save then you’re all good to go. Nope…not this one.
You have three choices when setting up this printer. You can enable its direct wireless connection, you can press the WPS button on your router and play the “maybe it’ll connect” game, or you can download its software from Epson’s website and use that to set it up to connect to your personal wireless network. You cannot have the direct wireless network and Wi-Fi enabled at the same time, you have to choose whether you want to connect to its network directly, or set it up to connect to your network. I have a Norton Core wireless router, which does not have a WPS button because of its high security standards. This meant that I had to go the software route, because disconnecting from your personal network, then connecting to a printer’s network to print something is just asinine in my opinion.
If you go the software route, you MUST connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable that is NOT included. I happened to have one of these cables that went to my pre-wireless Epson printer from college, you know back when printers came with cables and all. Regardless of the fact that I had the cable needed to complete setup, this infuriated me beyond belief. There is absolutely no reason, in this day and age, to have a printer’s wireless setup be even the least bit complicated or inconvenient.
If you make it this far without throwing something, congrats.
Once you plug the printer in via USB it’s easy to connect it to your home network. But let’s say down the road you decide to move in with a roommate who has their own wireless network, or for whatever reason, you need to connect the printer to a new network. You have to UNINSTALL the software from your computer, reinstall it, and do the setup process again, WITH the USB cable.
I think that’s all I have to say about the setup process…just thinking about how easy it SHOULD be, from experience, is enraging.
Let’s move on to all the POSITIVE things I have to say…and I hope anyone reading this doesn’t think that I am completely trashing this printer I just want to give you the honest truth and explain why to me certain things were frustrating. I am sure there are plenty of people out there who will take no issue with the way the setup process is for this printer, but for me it is.
The print quality is SUPERB. The colors are vibrant and look great. It also prints very quickly. The scanner is fine, I don’t scan things very often but for the purpose of this review I obviously scanned a few things to see how it worked. It seemed fine to me, I didn’t notice anything that made the quality of the scans stand out, nor did I think they were subpar – they looked how I would expect them to look.
Overall, I truly do think that this is a great compact easy to use (not set up) high quality printer. If it had a lower price point, I would highly recommend it for college students, but I believe its price is far above what I think a parent or student would want to spend on a printer. There are plenty of printers out there with more functions and features that cost 1/3 of what this does – you are basically paying for the ink tanks and the starter bottles of ink – 100% truth.
If you are in the market for something like this, and you read my thoughts on the setup process and it doesn’t sound like a deal breaker for you, definitely go for it – it’s a great printer once you actually get it set up.

I have been Epson ET-2700 for almost a week now. My first impression of using the printer has been really good. The printer itself is really compact. Setting up the printer was a breeze. The printer did not require any hardware set up, it was all assembled in the box. The set up required filling up the ink in the tank and priming the printer. Next step in the set up required installing the required drivers on my mac and connecting the printer to the WiFI network. Since the printer does not have a LCD screen for set up, printer had to be the connected to my computer using a USB cable. The cable is not included with the printer, but it is a standard printer cable, I was able to use the one from my existing printer. The printer was online and ready to print after this step.
The printer was accessible to all my devices on the network. I printed a few documents and pictures. The printer operation is not too noisy and the print speed was pretty good. Print quality is not too bad either. Black and white prints were really good. The color printing takes more time to print and the print quality is good. Scanning and Copying also worked without an issue. The quality of scans was very good and it worked flawlessly with the Epson Scan software on my Mac. Overall I am pretty impressed with the machine, it is a small package that does not take a lot of space and the printing capacity with Ink tanks is exceptional. Not a deal breaker, but It would have been nice if the printer came with Automatic Document Feeder and USB printer cable. it was a nightmare to setup the printer using my Mac. wanted me to find a USB cable to continue with the setup, which i did not have, nor was one included in the box. WPS to my Netgear Orbi did not work. fired up an old ASUS router and it was able to connect to it using WPS and then changed my WiFi settings to the Orbi Wi-Fi SSID and it connected right away.. took over a day to get it going due to the issues..
PROs: great ink capacity, hopefully wont need to buy ink for a long time :). Easy to see ink levels as the container is transparent scanning to mobile and Mac works with the espon app Google Print works as well from our kids school chromebook
CONs No native iPrint support. I can't print any of my emails from the mobile device (store coupons / offers that require you to present the email on paper...) Have to use my Laptop to print them. Also, this requires that we install iPrint on all our mobile devices (4 iPhones and 3 iPads) and retrain everyone at home on how to print from their device (not an easy task)... They end up using our other EPSON XP-440 instead.. Wish EPSON would add iPrint support in a future firmware.. No USB port for scanner (miss this). My work computer can't connect to my local network as i have to use VPN, so if i needed a document scanned, i used to scan to USB stick and then connect the USB key to the work laptop. Now i have to scan on my phone or home Mac and then email to my work address (not a big deal)

Expressions 2700 Budget printer with monster ink s

This review is for the Epson Expression 2700 printer with eco tank refillable ink and comes with an ink supply large enough for 5,700 color prints and 6500 Black and white prints. It is an all-in-one with a built in scanner (no fax, no sheet feeder) and a paper tray for up to 100 plain paper sheets. Setup would have taken only 20-25 minutes if I had the needed usb cable (for wifi setup) on hand. Filling and charging the printer initially was straightforward. After downloading the Mac software and drivers from Epson the setup is fairly automatic. I printed a few mixed graphic sheets and a few 4x6 and 8x10 photos and the results are satisfactory. Understanding that this is not a top of the line product designed for household home office use. There is a simple array of buttons for functions. Power, Wifi status, Black copy or color copy. Everything else is controlled by software. i am currently downloading the epson iprint seems straightforward to use. I love the look of the Epson Expression Eco Tank ET-2700. Its sleek and the design is straight to the point. It doesnt have any LCD screens. The installation process was quite easy and fairly quick. The download process was quick and did not have the long drawn out process. The instructions was straight and to the point. The longest point as the ink loading process. It's four separate bottles of ink. This makes ink replacement cheaper because you only have to get the color you need. AND you can see the colors so you know when it's about to run out of ink. The print quality is nice. It's smooth and no smears or leaks. Seems like no extra ink used. This is my Cons. It could be a little smaller. It's not compact at all. The major con is the noise. It prints really really loud! You will not be able to print while someone's sleeping. Overall, it's will be exciting to get to know this new printer! Great alternative to cartridge printers

First off I have to say I am very impressed with how compact this printer is, it takes up way less space than the printer I was using. I'm pretty experienced at setting up printers so I didn't have any trouble connecting via wi-fi using the WPS button on my router. One thing I didn't like wat that I had to add the Epson app to my phone just to be able to AirPrint. Usually I am able to find printers without having to download additional stuff to my phone which I prefer.
I like the idea of the EcoTanks instead of cartridges because it's much more cost effective. It seems like sometimes the cartridges would say they were empty much faster than I thought they should have been. This way when it says it needs ink you're adding to any little bit that's left in the tank. Printing quality seems to be just as good as printers using the cartridges. It didn't take much work to fill the cartridges and the overall process was pretty simple. And this time I didn't even get anything on my hands like I normally do with cartridges! The scanner function is pretty basic, no sheet feed so you have to do it one page at a time though. If you're looking for a simplified printer this is your unit.

This printer is great for those that hate to spend hundreds of dollar on ink per year. Set up is very easy and the ink tanks are a breeze to fill with the auto fill bottles. The pages print fast and are very clear. The paper is easy to load into the back of the printer and I have not had any problems with paper getting stuck. I wish that the printer held more paper though.
The only thing that really I am not a fan of is that the printer does not have auto double sided printing. If duplex printing is important to you, I would recommend a different model. However, if it is not a deal breaker everything else about this printer is awesome. The lack of ink cartridges is an innovative feature that makes this printer a real standout.

Freedom from Ink Cartridges!
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
My interest in this all-in-one device is mainly due to its unusual (if not novel) printer ink delivery system. Replacing cartridges is the bane of every inkjet printer user because of cost; but what I hate most is having to run to get a cartridge just as I need to print something very important. This printer offers the promise of vast numbers of pages printed before needing to replace the ink.
In the box: printer, power cable, set up software optical disk, QuickStart instructions, and initial ink supply. Not included is a USB printer cable, so if Wi-Fi set up doesn’t work for you at first, or you don't have a WiFi network available, you’re going to have to provide your own cable for setup (and printing).
The printer itself is made of standard consumer grade plastic. It is not particularly heavy but seems sturdy enough. Fit and finish are in-line with entry level consumer grade electronics. There were no rough edges, squeaky hinges, ill fitting covers, or rattling mysteries. Everything that needed to snap into place did so without having to be forced, and did not come loose afterwards. After several weeks of use I have seen no scuffs or discoloration of the unit.
There is no Touch screen interface, and there is no LCD screen. Clearly-labeled and easily-depressed buttons are front and center. There is no card reader for file printing, but remote printing is easily accomplished (see below), which softens the blow.
Set up was delightful, unexpectedly--simple, quick, painless. My biggest fear was making an enormous mess putting the ink into the printer. However, I was able to transfer all four bottles of black and colored ink in the printer without a single drop spilled. At first I had some apprehension that I would put the wrong color in a reservoir, but I note that each bottle's nozzle is matched to its accompanying reservoir by shape, and each color's shape is different. Ink supplied with the printer filled each of the CMYK reservoirs completely--no chintzy supplied ink here!!
Driver set up was painless. I was able to set up by using software downloaded from Epson's website on both a PC and Mac (link included with printer--optical media copy included as backup). Connecting the printer to the WiFi network only needed to be done once, with WiFi Direct, and "handshake“ occurred without a problem the first time I tried.
Print quality is quite good. Even using standard multipurpose paper, colors are rich, blacks are inky, and I I note no bleeding. There has been no difficulty in the ink feed system, something I also worried about. Distribution of the ink has been uniform without any faded spots or dropouts. Sharpness will never match laser printing, but it is quite acceptable and output held at reading distance is comfortable to read. Speed of the printer is as rated, both for image – heavy and text-only pages. Paper feed never once jammed through printing several hundred pages thus far. The paper feed holds disappointing 100 pages at once and standard thickness letter paper, so those to print throughout the day or routinely have large print jobs may want to think twice about purchasing this printer. I have not tried stock of the regular size or thickness so cannot comment on that. Printing is single-sided only.
Controlling the printer via computer or iOS app is simple. If a connection has to be made between the printer and the remote device, it has thus far been seamless, as I have noted no delay in printing after sending a command. With Internet connectivity, printing remotely has easily accomplished.
The printer works acceptably as a an occasional scanner. The scanning service will hold large flat originals, and easily, accommodated an open book. There is no document feeder, so those who need to scan large batches of papers should look elsewhere. Scanning is single-sided, of course.
In short, this all-in-one device is a very competent printer with robust network connectivity, with perfectly acceptable scanning. Is it a good value? Similarly-equipped models with ink cartridges rather than reservoirs cost 50% less, but the price of replacement cartridges eat that up over time. If it prints as many pages as advertised using its initial ink supply, then I will be able to say yes, resoundingly.

The Epson Expression ET-2700 All-in-One printer is economical and easy to use, loaded with consumer friendly features. If you print a lot of things, you could potentially save hundreds of dollars on ink with this piece of equipment. Black and white and color copy quality is excellent for a home printer, and is sufficient for average consumers, students, and small office owners. The manufacturer suggests that enough ink is included to print up to 6500 black and white pages and 5200 color copies. This Epson also has a nice sleek design with the ability for users to see ink levels at glance, with easy refillable ink tanks that make no mess. No LCD screen on the printer, but is not missed because of program interface. Included software and instructions for setting up the printer using a USB cable or wireless network is straightforward. I set up my printer using the included software and a USB cable that was purchased separately. The option I chose was to setup the printer automatically on my wifi network. The one time setup time takes around an hour total. In addition to Windows printing, it can easily connect to android and ios devices for printing with the epson application.
Other features on this Epson Expression ET-2700 of note:
1) Loading tray in the back that is flush with the unit when closed. It makes for easy transportation from one place to another.
2) The printer application on mobile devices offers useful, built in templates for producing wide ruled notebook paper, thin ruled paper, graph paper, music paper, weekly calendars, and monthly calendars.
3) Ink bottles have very clear instructions on how to insert the ink into the printer. This is a mess free process that is done easily.
4) Epson Connect - I did this and I love this feature! Your printer has its own email address, and allows a user to print from anywhere in the world!

This Epson - Expression EcoTank ET-2700 Wireless All-in-One Printer is a pretty sleek printer.
The installation was a simple. It was step by step on how to install and remove the necessary parts.
Once it was set up I was able to use it and it worked well. The prints came out nicely and clear. If you hate paying so much for ink then take a look at this printer. The eco-tank makes it an economical choice.
It is a pretty good size printer but not too big.
I am a huge fan of the wireless print option.
I love being able to sit in my living room and print my documents for work upstairs.
It is also convenient that if my husband needs to print something he can do it from any where. I know this is pretty standard now, but I still love the feature. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone who does a lot of printing and wants to cut down on cost and print documents that are perfect.

Great printer - install software needs some work

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The physical unpacking of the device is pretty simple. Unbox, remove all the blue tape and other packing material. Then the cool part comes! Find the big bottles of ink and fill the ink reservoirs. Just let them fill via gravity and they will stop all by themselves. I had a little bit of ink left in each bottle that we will put in later. Don’t squeeze them! If you follow this procedure you will have ZERO ink mess. Put the bottles to the side for later use. Next follow the procedure for the ink charging as listed in the setup instructions, this process takes a bit so go find something else to do while it does its thing.
The software setup was a bit rocky. We wanted to use the printer on WiFi so we could put in the corner where we don’t have an Ethernet or cable long enough to reach the computer. Plus we wanted to be able to print from various devices with the computer off. The first issue I ran into was there was no USB cable in the box, to setup up the WiFi the software requires you connect via USB first. The various USB cables we have around are for phones and other devices. Luckily I had a neighbor that had a cable that had the correct end on the USB cable for printer use. I followed through the wizard on my laptop and it wouldn’t let me enter in my network information. There was nothing on the screen to let me type in my network name and password. I found out that my laptop was using the 5ghz WiFi and the printer was trying to see which 2.4ghz network I was using. I connected to my 2.4ghz SSID and started the install over again. This time it was finally able to see my network and get things connected and on the WiFi. For some reason the setup software automatically switching my wifi settings to talk to the printer temporarily it locked up my PC. I had to reboot and restart the install all over again after uninstalling what it had done so far. Once I started the install again I was able to walk through the process. Be patient, there isn’t anything fast about this printer software and wireless adapter during setup. The printer definitely needs some reworking the process to get the drivers and WiFi setup, but once you get this done it is only a one time thing and it’s all easy from here.
After setup of the printer I began use. From there it became a much better experience than the initial set up. The prints that come from this printer are of a great quality. They are clear and can be read very easily. The color from computer to print are almost if not the same as you see on the screen. I used this printer for printing invoices, photos (on regular paper, not photo paper), several other documents that were needed. Those all came out very well. One of the things I didn’t like was that the paper had to be loaded from the back of the printer and has no bottom tray to load the paper where it isn’t in the way. The buttons on the front of the printer are not very self-explanatory like on many other copiers I have used in the past. The scanning/copy feature is also a nice additive to have on any printer and also works very well. The prints that come from the copier look like the originals. I was not able to figure out yet on how to lighten and darken copies made from it, but if I am in the future, I will update my review to reflect. All in all I would say print, copy and scan wise I would recommend this printer to others but on the setup of the printer, I would not, and that was a true hassle. Decent Printer, Awesome Ink Supply
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Initial impression after taking this printer out of the box: a solid, small form factor, no-frills printer/scanner/copier whose main selling point is long term, cartridge-free printing.
This is the first time I’ve tried a cartridge-free printer. I have to say I have always been frustrated with inkjet printers due to the cost of replacement cartridges and the frequency with which they have to be replaced. So the idea of only having to add ink once every couple of years is definitely welcome. Epson claims the Ecotanks store enough ink for approximately 2 years of printing (6500 pages black, 5200 pages color). Only time will tell if this is the case. As of 10/28/17, the cost to refill all four Ecotank reservoirs is $62 (current price @ Bestbuy.com) but considering that gets you almost 2 years of printing, it’s not too bad.
Setup of the printer was fairly simple and straightforward. I would expect wireless setup to be easier in this day and time, but the installation of the supporting software is necessary to continue setup whether you chose to use a USB cable (not included) or wireless setup.
The overall software installation has a fairly large footprint – drivers, software updater, event manager, scanner utility, users’ guide and setup of e-print/cloud-based services. I’m not a huge fan of a lot of software being installed to support a device, but so far it has not adversely impacted my Windows 10 laptop.
Once the software is installed and the printer has been connected and configured, things move along fairly easily. The initial fill of the EcoTank reservoirs is a bit of a time-consuming process as is the initial priming of the printer. You’ll probably need to set aside about 30-45 minutes total to set up the printer including software install, configuration, ink fill, and printer priming.
So far I’m impressed with the quality of the print. Advertised print resolution is up to 5760x1440. The printer can handle multiple paper types including copy paper, photo paper, and envelopes. Paper feed is in the rear of the printer and the feeder tray will hold about 75 sheets of standard copy paper. Print speed is quick for black and white and decent for color.
The printer has the option to scan directly from the device using a button but unfortunately, this option only works if the printer is connected to your computer via USB cable. If you want to scan documents in a wireless configuration, you must use the accompanying “Epson Scan 2” software to initiate a scan.
The scanner produces decent scans at 200dpi (default). Be prepared to wait a while if you want to scan at 1200 dpi – the maximum resolution available. There is also a partner application (Epson iPrint) available for iOS/Android that allows you to scan and then save, email, or print the resulting scan.
All in all, this is a decent printer. It performs its basic, core functions – printing, scanning & copying – very well. It seems to me, however, that the greatest feature of this printer is the Ecotank, which eliminates the worry, fuss, and cost of replacement ink cartridges.

When I got this printer in the mail I was super happy that I finally got it! I opened it and looked at it and was scared because I've never set a real printer up before with real ink. The set up was super easy! The instructions are super helpful so make sure you actually use them. The ink has 3 different bottles. When you put the bottles in the spots they are supposed to go, it stops once full. There is no mess! This super surprising that there was no mess and no hassle.
Now on to the set up. Don't expect to print anything for atleast a half an hour. It seems to be something that is super simple, but unfortunately it isn't. The printer some reason wouldn't hook up to my wifi. It easily could be myself, but it was a little snag in setting it up. Each ink has to load on its own which seems to take the longest. After that you are all set to start printing! The copier is great and was super fast. Printing is a breeze and you can even print pictures and it looks really good!

Pros: Great print quality
Easy ink refill
Compact form factor
Cons: NO CLOUD SUPPORT
Must setup printer on laptop
No touchscreen or screen of any kind
I was excited to unbox this printer. After spending more on ink in the last 12 months than my old printer was worth, I was really happy that this Epson promised over two years of ink out of the box.
Setting up the printer physically was easy. I was a little scared to fill the ink reservoirs. I had visions of spilling super-staining ink everywhere. But in reality it was mess-free. Simply tip the bottle over the correct tank, and it fills itself.
Once I had it filled, it was time to connect it to my Wifi network. Here's where I started to dislike the printer a lot.
For one, there's no screen on the printer. I've had a printer that cost less than $100 for years that had a screen. It could connect itself to a new wifi network no problem. Not so much with this one. It sounds like a small gripe, but having a screen makes EVERYTHING easier. Setting up, scanning, EVERYTHING is easier if I can interface with the printer directly. This is a HUGE turn-off for this printer. It's enough to make me think twice about my purchase. If I'm spending nearly $300 for a printer, the very least it should have is a small LCD screen.
Here's the other reason why a LCD Screen matters. My wife uses a Chromebook, and uses Google Cloud Print to do everything. This printer is not really Google Cloud Print friendly. I was able to add it, but it only prints if my laptop is turned on and logged in. If it had a screen to help log into Google, I'd easily be able to print stuff from my Chromebook and phone. This was a HUGE turn off for me. Cloud printing is a big deal breaker.
Instead of a quick setup on the printer itself, I had to download the Epson software, and connect the printer to my laptop via USB. I actually had to dig a bit in my closets for a USB cable, as I haven't owned a printer in probably 5-7 years that needed one.
Setup was super annoying. Since I didn't have the USB cable in hand right away, I had to go through the ENTIRE download and setup process again once I found it. Annoying.
Once it was up and running, I was able to print from my laptop with no issues. Here comes the good point of this printer. I tried printing a few different color photos, color documents, and black and white documents. I was impressed with the crispness and quality of the prints. One gripe is a lack of "quiet mode". My printer sits right against the wall in our office. It's a wall that's shared with my lightest-sleeping child. I did my tests during their nap, and the printer was loud enough to wake them up. My old printer had a "Silent Mode" that slowed things down a little bit, but made it WAY quieter. Again, I'm buying a nearly $300 printer. I expected more from this machine.
TL;DR version: Prints came out great, but lack of features on a nearly $300 printer turned me off.

Let me start of with the pros, because I really think this printer is great. The process of taking it out of the box and getting the ink installed was not only easy, but actually kind of impressive (Im a huge nerd). No ink was spilled, and the printer primed itself quickly.
After spending a few hours experimenting with various print settings, I learned that you can do two very different types of printing: very, very fast, or very detailed, but not both. Printing text is lighting fast, so much so that it started spraying pages out into the room because I forgot to extend the page catch tray. But printing fast onto photo paper got mediocre results. Colors were dull. But then I realized there was a setting for this, and the slower setting on glossy photo paper was incredible. Just like I had ordered it from an online print company. 8x10's took about 35minutes, and 4x6's took about 2. So still not bad. I printed nearly a hundred documents, pictures, and random things and I cant tell if the ink level went down, so I think its safe to say this is going to last a good while.
If there is one drawback, its the software. Once you get it installed, its actually pretty impressive, but to me the setup was lacking information. The booklet that comes with it gives me one webaddress to go to download the software, which isn't the same site that the quick start guide points you towards, and there is no section in the manual telling you how the scanner works or where that software is. That I just had to find on the website. But once you get up and running, everything worked like a charm.

I can honestly say that I am very happy with this printer. The design is great. The features are extensive and the ink costs are absolutely affordable. I think I am most happy about the ink costs. As a student, I tend to print everyday. From readings to essays, this printer does the trick. I am so glad that I do not have to constantly worry about buying new ink. I was a little afraid that the ink bottles would spill and I would end up with ink all my desk, but the design of the ink bottles makes it easy and spill-free. The speed of the printer seems about average and the noise is a little loud, but I can deal with it.
I had to buy a USB cable for this printer (mine was $16) for its initial set up so remember that you do need this cable. I think this was the biggest drawback. I was ready to use the printer, but then the system prompt mentioned that for setup, I needed this USB cable. The instructions are clear and I eventually figured out how to initially set it up. Overall, I am very happy with this printer. It is great for students who need to print almost daily. Installation was quick and painless. The size is fine and the instructions are clear. If you have more difficulties, the manual is online.

When I first received this printer, I was honestly very hesitant that I would know what I was doing. I am pretty tech savvy but the printer seemed like a lot to take in. After reading the instructions and getting things up and running, I found that it was a lot easier than I expected.
I love that I don't have to worry about ink cartridges. There are little tanks to fill up the ink when it is low or running out. It is easy to do, and there wasn't any mess afterward. I love that you can refill each color instead of having to refill all the ink. This will save a lot of money. The printer quality is really good from what I have used so far. I coupon and need a good quality picture so barcodes will scan. Being able to wirelessly print from my phone and tablet is great as well, considering that I need to coupon everywhere. So far the printer is wonderful and I am very happy with it.
