Good Printer With Lots Of Features

My wife had a HP Photosmart Plus for years until it bit the dust about a month back. We noticed that HP doesn't make Photosmarts anymore, so we had to go with a different brand. After talking to my brother, who has a epson artisan, we decided to look at the epson printers. we liked the Epson Expression Photo 830 that was in store for $129, but we had to have $200 to use our credit card so we decided to go with the more expensive Epson Expression Photo 960 which is on sale for $229. In our area we had to order this item from the best buy online site, because it is not carried in the stores that were closest to us. After getting the product we actually liked it much more than the 830. That printer only had two different black inks and one red, blue, and yellow ink cartridge. This printer has one black, light red, red, light blue, blue, and yellow and after printing off many pics we could tell a difference between the 830's photos, we saw sample photos that they had in store and compared. The 960's photos are brighter and look amazing. All in all we actually love the printer so far. The only two complaints about it are when it updates for the first time, and when their are firmware updates, there is no progress bars to indicate how long it will take to update, so you just have to watch and wait. Also the printers power cord is not very long and you may have to use an extension cord.

I love being able to print to it from anywhere, including my phone. The print is very clear. I haven't tried it on DVDs yet but I have a feeling it will work better than my old one.

The Epson XP-960 fits in the same footprint as my previous Epson Artisan 837, but has more capabilities. It can print up to an 11x17 photo or document (single sheet feed through rear of printer only) as well as the other standard sizes of paper and photos, plus CD and DVD surfaces. The photo print quality is excellent. The only negative that I anticipate is that the ink cartridges are small, and Best Buy (at least, my store) does not carry the XL capacity cartridges. However, I have not yet used up any of the initial cartridges that came with the printer, so I can't say exactly how long the standard cartridges will last.

I got this printer to work with my iPhone 6s and it's awesome, prints great pictures from my iPhone. Easy to set up and easy to hook up to my iPhone so I can print wirelessly from my iPhone. I don't even have to WiFi for it to work. Awesome printer.

I purchased the XP-960 to replace a multi-function photo printer from another manufacture. My old printer was getting tired and the manufacture was not really keeping the software up to date. I am very happy with the Epson 960. I have now tried nearly all of the features and encountered no problems. Hardware and software setups were easy and straight forward. Epson has done a great job with the software. The software is feature rich and can get even more involved if one elects to invoke Remote and Google printing. Print quality is great and photo printing is fast and the results are impressive. I also have an Epson V600 photo scanner and was surprised to see that the 960 uses exactly the same scanner software. So no new software learning curve and no wasted space installing new scanner software. Front panel controls are easy to use and well laid out. Overall I am very pleased with the XP-960.

Easy set up and great quality print. I like Epson and have had several printers. The networking and air print is the bomb! Wanted to be able to print directly on CDs and this come with software and cd tray to make slick looking music CDs.

Needed a smaller printer for my house. This printer does everything I need it to do. Takes up very little space. I love having a wireless printer as I can tuck it in my closet and it is out of the way. Great photo prints.

I bought this printer to exclusively print on DVDs. Overall it is a big improvement over the older model 950. The software is easier to use and is less clunky. Print time is twice as fast as the older Epson Artisan 50 model that was popular a few years back. Overall ink usage seems adequate. Color and quality is every bit as good as it’s always been with other Epson printers. This review is strictly on the DVD printing function as I have not used it for anything else. Overall I’m pretty happy with it especially the speed.

Got this printer to mainly print out art prints of illustrations and the quality has been very good so far. Was able to print about 80 8 1/2 x 11 color pages before it ran out of ink (they are not photos so there was a bunch of white space on the pages). Print speed is decent, about 2 pages a minute. The rear paper slot is a bit of a bear to use as it only accepts one sheet at a time and you have to it print before you put the paper in otherwise it feeds thought right away, not sure what engineer thought of that. Wifi connectivity is fast. Wish the 277 ink was more standard, have to order it online as no stores seem to carry it. 277XL cartridges are also available but for some odd reason not sold in packs of all the colors.

After much research I decided to try this printer. I was specifically looking for a photo printer and so far I am extremely happy with this one. The prints come out beautiful and clear. The app you download is super easy to navigate. The printer itself is easy to use and has a ton of functions. The Bluetooth connection actually works which I’m super excited about and connects Everytime. I love how you can print any size photo all the way up to 11x14. So far I’m super happy with this purchase.

Having once been in the photo printing business years ago, I appreciate quality. I am a believer that the priority of quality color lies in applying more color variants to the image. Simply put: Six colors are better than four. (All the better if there were seven or eight colors including various black/grayscales. But I'm not sure if such a printer even exists.) I understand that features like web based printing, speed, ease of ordering inks online, and a good interface software are the sexier features to sell printers. And this printer has all of that with the possible exception of speed. But in the end, the quality and look of the print is what's important. I like what this 6-color Epson printer outputs. The changes in shadows and skin tones are subtle. The colors are more true. I can display these images with pride. I would recommend this to a print enthusiast who likes to work and tweak on images a little to get the best image.

I am sure that professionals will find shortcomings, but this printer's output seems about as close to perfect as far as I am concerned. I'm knocking one star off for lack of innovation - a lot of other manufacturers, and some of Epson's own printers, have features that weren't available 5 years ago. This printer seems somewhat dated, and fairly expensive to run, but it still does the job.

Easy install and wireless printing works flawlessly. Does a nice job printing. Print quality is good and the two sided print feature works well. I am not sure of the reason (and have not investigated) but it left roller marks on very high priced "temporary tattoo" paper. It uses ink more rapidly than my canon printers, which is definitely a minus.

Quite a small photo printer and nicely designed. Photo prints are awesome so far. Installing the software on Mac took quite sometime and troubleshooting but thanks to my knowledge and skills I was able to overcome the challenges. The average person would end up calling tech support. I think Epson should improve their offering on this aspect. I got a great deal at BestBuy on this printer so I couldn’t be happier. Thanks Bestbuy. I would definitely recommend this printer to anyone wanting to print at home.
