I just received my new printer after owning a Canon for 9 1/2 years! I figured if I’m getting a new printer I want a higher DPI than my Canon. This printer is amazing. Easy set up. Super easy wi-fi set up. Print from iPhone is incredibly easy. The printer is quiet too. Prints are so beautiful and the ones I printed were photos I’ve taken with my iPhone not my Canon DLSR camera (can’t wait to see how those look). Worth the money & I bought it on sale too. Win win!

I’m very happy with this printer! I have been through two printers and always had an issue printing my art prints and stickers on thicker paper but this printer took all kinds of paper I threw at it. This printer is also good with ink I went through 100+ prints and stickers until I had to replace the ink which the cost for ink wasn’t to bad. The colors are vibrant and highest quality. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone who is interested.

I got this printer to make stickers with my cricut. Setting it up didnt take too long.
I havent had any issues with the ink running or smearing with my sticker paper or when touched by water.
Just as a note: with cricut design space it uses the printers default settings - which so far as i can tell you can't change on the printer its self. It wasted maybe 10 sheets of sticker paper trying to get the alignment right. I'd have it show up great on the tests and then look awful when printed on the glossy sticker paper. Turns out i needed to adjust the settings on my computer. It was really irritating.
Other thank than no complaints. Ive made a lot of stickers and haven't needed to replace the ink yet.

Best printer I’ve ever had! I used matte photo paper to make art prints with this printer. And I was amazed at how rich the colors turned out to be! The prints are so sharp, velvety, and gorgeous !! Well worth the money.

This is the first Epson printer I have ever had. It was a lot easier to set up than the previous printers I’ve had. Once out of the box, I plugged it in and loaded the 6 ink cartridges. It took about 7 minutes to initialize and then I needed to load paper for the alignment and adjustment of the print. There are 2 paper trays, one is for smaller photo paper and the other is for up to 11x17 size paper. You load it with the printable side face down. It took some trial and error for me to figure out loading the paper but once I got it, it was easy. There is a place to also load paper in the back of the printer but I have not utilized this yet. You need at least 4 sheets of paper for the alignment and adjustment. For example, it prints out 9 lines of squares and you pick the ones with the least amount of lines from each line. After completing the set up it was a breeze to use. I was able to use the scan and print and print from my phone easily. Setting up the Wifi was simple and the touch screen it great because you don’t have to use the pads of your finger like a mobile phone. I love this because I have fat fingers and like being able to use my fingernails to navigate.
Pros: easy to set up in about 12-15 minutes. Print quality is great. Set up to Alexa to print.
Cons: a little loud but bearable. There is a quiet mode but prints slower. The print tray doesn’t hold a lot of paper for the size of the printer. I have included 3 pictures: Original is on top, a scanned of original is on the left and the one on the right is a picture taken of the original with my phone and printed out). First of, I will point out that I have used many different brands of printers. I'm well aware of each ones most strongest features and their pros and cons. With that said, I tend to lean more on the Epson brand because they seem more durable, are intuitive and look really nice.
In today's world of high tech we need to be able to print out documents and pictures in great quality. We get used to seeing our nice screens so it's only fair that our printed images look as best as they can. This Epson XP-970 does not disappoint! I have 2 other printers that I use almost daily and they don't compare to the amazing pictures this Epson printer prints out.
It has a great overall small footprint and prints pictures a little extra bigger (11" x 17") than the regular size printers. It has a 4.3" touchscreen and you can use it independently without any device or PC. It works from any device and on both Android and iOS without a glitch! The tray opens up itself when you print out something for the first time. The screen also open and flips up in very cool, and high tech way!
You can even print images on CD's! I love to make home movies or slide shows and give them out to friends and family. This feature was really big back in the early 2000's and I had a computer tower that did that until it broke down. So to see this on a favorite printer of mine, well it's cool. It is considered a "small in one" and has all theses features;
Wireless 2.4 & 5 antennas, Ethernet, Wide Format, Print/Copy, Scan, 6-color inks
ISO Print Speed†: Black: 8.5 ISO ppm; Color: 8.0 ISO ppm.
It has an SD card reader and 1 USB port. It also has Voice Activated Printing with Alexa and Google. I used it to print my shopping list! Wow! The setup was super easy! Place it somewhere, plug it in and follow on-screen instructions. My kids use it for High School and College and they are amazed on the quality of the print. It's very neat and there's no runoffs or blurring.
It comes with a manual in a few different languages and an install CD for PC. You can always download the Creative apps on any device and it gives you the option to do pretty much anything you'd want to do on a printer with all these options.
I'm extremely happy with this printer and the price is definitely fair for all the features and great quality you get out of it. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Photo printer
So far I am loving this all in one printer this is easy to use, portable and gives great quality photo prints. This is the best all-in-one printer for home and small office use. I would highly recommend this to everyone especially if you are looking to get high-quality photo printing at home, this would be the best choice.
Design:
The printer has a nice and attractive look. This is light-weight and has a compact design, so it will fit easily onto a computer desk at home, or in an office.
Features:
This compact printer provides wireless and router free printing. This 6 color Claria photo HD inks deliver smooth and excellent quality pictures. It is capable of producing great quality borderless photos up to 11 by 17 inches. This printer can print the 4x6 pictures in approx 11 seconds. It has 4.3" touchscreen along with USB and memory card slots which makes printing jobs convenient and easy. These options help to print without connecting to the computer. This printer has inbuilt tools to easily adjust the photo for Red-eye correction, photo restoration. It is easy to use and user-friendly printer, I have also printed photos using Siri via my iPhone which is very convenient while in rush. The paper tray is easy to load and it also has multiple ways to print the job, it supports voice-activated printing commands from Alexa and Google Assistant or app from the phone. I use Amazon Alexa to print a variety of documents, including to-do and shopping lists. This has an auto 2-sided printing feature along with scanning capabilities. With its impressive and fast connectivity options and borderless-photo printing makes it an ideal option for copying, scanning, and photography. You can easily set this printer up in any room in your house and print from wherever you are. You can print from computers, mobile phones, tablets, and cloud-based storage services.

Colorful, vibrant photos

When the printer was delivered, the first thing I noticed was the width. It's pretty impressive. Definitely wider than any printer I've had before. According to the box, that is so it can print great pictures. The box didn't lie. No more one hour photo kiosks for me. The photos print with professional quality and the 6 (yes, six) ink colors let you see your photos almost exactly as you took them. With regular printers that have black, blue, yellow, and red, your photos are never as vibrant as they are on your camera or phone. Epson has solved this problem with the addition of the 2 extra colors.
This printer was easy to unpack and set up. Word of advice: The ink cartridges have caps on them that you have to take off. Don't get your fingers in them. They a small amount of ink on them and I got a blue finger tip. Epson provides a plastic bag for you to put the ink caps in. You need to keep the caps and put them back on the cartridges when they are empty. Once you install the ink, the printer runs its initialization program. The touch screen LCD display tells you this takes about 7 minutes, and it did take right at 7 minutes for me.
Set up is pretty straight forward. You load the paper and then run the print alignment test. After that is complete, run the cd on your computer to complete the process.
There are multiple places to load paper. I have loaded regular printer paper and 4x6 glossy photo paper. The first item I printed was a 4x6 photo of my grandson and....I wasted a sheet of 4x6 glossy paper. I didn't see anything to tell me if the paper should be glossy side up or down, so I put it up. That was the wrong thing. The ink pooled on the wrong side of the paper and it was quite a mess. Make sure you put the glossy side DOWN in the tray.
The next item I printed was a 3 page Excel document. I decided to try the 2 sided printing. I did not have to put the paper back in to print on the back. It printed both sides before spitting the paper out. The document had several color bands and I was worried about bleed through, but it wasn't an issue.
The scanner/copier works very well and scanned the pictures and documents to my computer with no issues. The copied documents looked just like the originals.
Although I haven't tried them yet, this printer has even more bells and whistles. You can print from your phone, a memory card, a CD/DVD, and even from a different location.
While I was writing this review, I printed 25 two-sided copies for a club I belong to and they printed quickly and the ink was dry when I took them off the tray.
In summary, the Epson XP-970 prints fantastic photos (as long as you have the paper loaded correctly) and great documents. This printer is good for people who are looking for their first printer and for people who have been printing for years.
The pictures show the scanner tray, the touch screen LCD display on start up and during printing, and the 2 sided document I printed.

I think the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer was very easy to set up. People who don’t do well with technology wouldn’t have a problem setting this up at all. I don’t have much experience in setting printers up, but it was extremely easy. The printer pretty much walks you through the steps one step at a time. It would be a great printer for photos or even for everyday documents. The fact that it is voice-activated is extremely convenient. It has three different trays for different sized paper and the screen lifts up also. The ink comes with covers that come off to place the ink trays in but then they can go right back on! The printer was also packed neatly and safe inside the box. The machine itself looks very slick. I would highly recommend it to family and friends.
Don’t be afraid to push a little harder on the ink trays to put it in! I was a little worried putting the ink in because of how hard I had to push just to get it to click in. I also didn’t like how it was more of a chore to put the paper in the printer. You had to move things over, and it isn’t very convenient. All in all, I think it is a very slick printer and is great for people into photography like I am. I would highly recommend it. Great Little All in One Printer !!!

I’m impressed with the Epson XP-970 Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer - Black. I have had it for about a week now and I have used just about all of its features. I work from home sometime and am not a high capacity user so this printer has been an excellent option for me. If you are looking for a great printer with high intensity output, then I would highly depend on the Epson XP-970.
The Epson XP 470 is a substantial upgrade from the popular Epson series of printers. The setup was easy and flawless and hardly had I to refer to any documents provided. Time taken to perform the setup was hardly 20-25 minutes and it was ready for printing and scanning. Installation of the cartridges were also easy and without any mess. Product size is really compact and weight is reasonable.
There is a distinct improvement in print quality and speed compared to my existing Printer which is another brand. Competition is rising up for this class of printer, but the XP 970 is a very good 17" desktop printer that every photographer ought to consider. Copying is fast. Scanning is faster too...and 600 dpi gives the enough clarity that is needed for me however the maximum resolution is 4800dpi. It prints a 4X6 photo in about 10 seconds. Additionally there are multiple ways you can print wirelessly (Epson Connect, Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print) and you can scan to cloud. Bring able to control the printer from Alexa and Google home is a plus point.
Additionally it comes with SD card slot and it does support Memory Stick Duo and CompactFlash card through USB 2.0 with the ability to connect to internet using Ethernet or Wi-Fi options. Auto Photo Correction with advanced face detection as well as red-eye removal and photo restoration capabilities are definitely few add-ons a photographer may be interested in. Overall, this is a great printer for personal and home use. I feel this is definitely worth the money. Nevertheless to say that printers are prone to problems anytime. My take is to spend a few more dollars have the peace of mind for few years.

I received my Epson Expression Photo XP-970 less than a week ago and bought the paper from Walmart. First, I removed everything from the box and read the instructions carefully before plugging the photo printer in. It was easy to follow the instructions and get started. All the pieces were wrapped airtight and the cartridges popped into place very easily. The photo paper is simple to put in and the separate trays for different sizes was very impressive.
After getting the CD downloaded and installed onto my Windows laptop, the screen on the printer prompts you to easily connect to your home Wi-Fi network, without using a cord. This printer has several setup options that allow you to connect wirelessly to your cell phone and wireless network which also allows me to use Suri. Using Suri, I can voice activate and print from anywhere if both devices are on the same Wi-Fi Network. I printed a picture of myself and my daughter and the quality were just as nice, if not better than photos picked up at the photo shop. I love this Printer! “This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

This is a great quality printer I love it. I like the color of it (black) it looks nice and it is easy to use and it was easy to setup and to use the user Manuel I had no issues with it. I connected it to my phone as well as my tablet and laptop with no problems it was really simple to do. I also connected the printer to my Wi-Fi using the control panel on the printer.
It was easy to scan as well as adjust the paper setting and to select different sizes to print pictures. I really recommend this printer if you want to print great quality pictures. The Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Small-In-One Inkjet printer is an amazing printer for printing photos at home. The print quality is much better than any other photo printer I have ever used. The print time is fairly quick. I like that you can print different sizes from 4x6 borderless photos to 11x17 printing all wirelessly. Another great feature is that you can use voice printing with either Amazon Alexa or Google assistant, so no need to be tethered to your computer to print.
There is also the option to print from a SD memory card or memory stick. The touchscreen display is user friendly and you also have built in software that allows you to adjust your photos, red removal and restoration tools for old or damaged photos, which is amazing. Another really cool feature is it also has the ability to print images onto CDs or DVDs when you want to create a custom gift for family and friends.
Set-up was really simple and fast right out of the box it took no more than 15-20 mins and I was ready to print. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Almost sets itself up right out of the box. Step by step instructions were easy to follow. Took about 15 minutes start to finish. The printer runs so quiet I wasn't sure if it was printing. There are to different paper trays one tray is for 5x7 and one for regular paper sizes. I like this feature because I don't have to keep changing paper between the two sizes. I've printed numerous items. Photos come out excellent. I've done both the 5x7 and the 4x6. There is a feature to print from disc or thumb drive (I haven't tried that option yet). I like the printing quality. It has much detail and great color that I really desire. The only thing I didn't realize that the ink it requires is very exprensive. If only I could find cheaper ink that would work. I tried LD ink but the printer rejected it. Would be happy to find ink that would work so it would be so costly to operate the printer. “This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review”

The ability to print on multiple paper sizes is incredibly useful, and the print quality is outstanding. I specifically purchased this model for its high-resolution scanner, and it did not disappoint. If you’re looking for an affordable, high-quality photo printer and scanner—this is it. Great printer for the price

Excellent printer for the price - does have its issues.
Print Quality
The print quality is great, but sometimes requires tweaking to the settings to get it just right, so print small until you get it right so you don't use too much ink.
Paper
I had hoped I could use the mountains of paper I already have for this printer, but the ink doesn't print well on certain gloss papers (ex. Xerox ultra gloss digital paper). I'm sure Epson paper would print beautifully, but that comes at higher cost. It prints well on every matte I tried and most semi-gloss. It does not play well with all paper, but that is more on the ink, not the printer itself.
Ink
Epson is known for its quality ink. If you have the right paper, it will print beautifully.
Although, this printer is thirsty, and the cartridges are small. You will run out of black ink before printing 10 11x17s. If only there were larger cartridges.
*cough* CISS *cough*
Troubleshooting
Unfortunately, sometimes errors do occur, and at the worst possible times. When it happens, it cancels the print, which is not fun when you were 90% into printing an 11x17.
Price
You can't find a better large-format printer for the price.
Final Thoughts
I'm sure it sounds like I am being negative about the printer by picking out all of its flaws, but I really do like it. I hope it's helpful for you and know what to expect.
I do like the XP-970. It will hold me over until upgrading to the Eco Tank equivalent (ET-8550), and a UV varnish coating machine for large printing projects.
It gets 5 stars for its good price.

My previous Epson Printer was the Epson Photo XP960. This Epson Expression Photo XP-970 is the newer upgraded version, Very happy with the XP-970 so far, supper easy to set up. I haven't gotten the chance to print a photo yet, hopefully taking picture for Christmas so I can test the printer with the photo settings. When the Christmas holiday's are over, I will be contacting Epson with some question I have regarding the settings/updates.
