Stunning Photos. Great Printer

Setup was incredibly easy to setup and connect to my Wi-Fi network. In less than 10 minutes I setup the XP-970 and was printing from my laptop. I also was able to connect my daughter’s iPad to the printer and she was able to print minutes later. Incredibly easy.
I love the many “high touch” features this printer has like the retracting/deployment of the printer tray and touchscreen display panel This is the first time I have used a printer that had an expanded number of ink cartridges, which include cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow, and black. Clearly this is one of the inherent capabilities that enables the printer to produce great images, and if you use one of the glossy papers are absolutely stunning.
I would definitely recommend this product if you are looking for a great photo printer. It doesn’t disappoint. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Great Photo Printer!

So many of the photos we have taken lately are stuck in the cloud. I’ve wanted a way to print a picture here and there, and this printer is a great way to do it. I don’t even have to turn on my computer to use it-it is connected wirelessly through our home network. So far we’ve printed a few photos and photo collages and the quality has been excellent.
Setup was fairly easy once the printer was out of the box. There are printed instructions that take you step by step. As I mentioned, I didn’t use my computer to connect it to the network, but there is a CD that is included to use to install the software on your computer. I initialized the printer following the prompts on the printer screen.
After the printer was set up, I found the Epson apps in the App Store on my iPad, and I downloaded the Epson iPrint and Epson Creative Print apps. The former lets me pick what I want to do-print photos, print documents, print from the cloud, scan, capture a document using my iPad camera and add Siri shortcuts. You can add the actions to Siri, so you can tell her to scan a document or print the last photo you took.(I cannot speak for that option as I don’t use Siri very often.) The Creative Print app is where it gets fun. You can print a collage of photos, create a CD/DVD label, create writing paper, create a greeting card, make a custom coloring book page using a photo or another image from the web, print pictures from FaceBook and Instagram, and print design paper. The design paper option confused me at first, but then once I explored, I realized it was actually really cool. The printer can print up to an 11x17 sheet of paper. So, you can use the design paper as custome gift wrap, or use it in a scrapbook, really the options are unlimited.
One thing I did notice was if you do not have the right type of paper selected, your print quality will not be good. I printed on a piece of glossy photo paper and then a piece of blank printer paper, but didn’t switch the setting from glossy to plain. The colors were dull and muted and none of the images were even salvageable to use with an art project for my kids. When the correct setting was chosen, the print quality is absolutely amazing! My son was very impressed and was planning on all of the things he wants to print.
This is a great printer, and I really like having the power to print great quality photos at home. I don’t really want to use this as a document printer, as I’m not sure how long the ink will last, and there are many cartridges to replace. (There is black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light magenta and light cyan cartridges.) The paper tray also doesn’t hold a lot of paper, so printing out long documents wouldn’t really b This printer for me will be reserved for photos and art projects and custom things that need “fancy” paper.

Amazing Color Clarity

Since I am not very “tech-savvy”, I am always a little nervous when it comes to setting up new devices in my home office. However, the set-up for the Epson XP-970 was fairly straight forward after I found a place to put it. The Printer/Scanner/Copier was wider than my current printer, 18 ½”W x 14”D, but since it was wireless (bonus!) didn’t need to sit right next to my laptop. The process to install the color ink cartridges and adjust them correctly took about 10 minutes. Then adding this printer to my computer via wireless wi-fi was easy as well. There are several connectivity options: Ethernet, wi-fi, or you can connect directly to your PC with USB cable (not included). There are two paper trays for various sizes of paper. Neither tray holds a large amount of paper so this isn’t a machine for massive print/production jobs, but suits someone like me who has a home office. The screen on the front is bright and readable and has onscreen helps if you need assistance in how to perform a function.
On to the good stuff! I was impressed by how vivid the photograph output was. With no enhancements to the photographs, they looked like amazing. The colors were true and accurate, and the speed of printing was relatively short. I also printed some other business forms that I had previously been producing in black and white and they look so much more professional on a color printer. I also took the time to connect the printer to my Android phone via my home network. Viola! I was able to print a photo from my phone as well. That’s a feature I will definitely use. Now, for couple of drawbacks. The printer is a tad bit noisy for my liking and not just during printing. I didn’t realize that it had a sleep function, until I had left on and jumped when it started making noise to put it to sleep. In addition, as stated before, I wish the paper trays were deeper and held more paper, but it does accommodate larger format images. If anyone with a home office is in the market for a larger format color printer, I think they would be well served by this model. I have had this printer now for a few days and hands down on the best one I have ever used. It was super easy to set up and cartilages were the easiest I have ever put in. The only thing I didn't like about the set up I was confused on the maintenance box. It took me while to realize that it came with an extra. Both the treys were also easy to set up and I love how it asked me to set the size and type of paper in using. Made it really when printing off labtop. Also huge one my favorite about this printer was the memory card slot and all the option to print with it. I love being able to make photo collage right off of them and they have super cute background to add. I really enjoyed being able to print things right off my table because with all the tech right now who really uses labtop or memory card. It was super easy to print this off my Facebook or even my Google could. Now my absolute favorite thing about it was being able to connect it to Alexa. I was able to ask her to print things and within seconds it was out. I did have a problem connecting it to Alexa. I followed all the direction but the first time it didn't prompte me to make a account so I spent like an hour trying to figure it out how to get my email to work. Finally I went and deleted all my info and It prompted the set up account part. It would be really awesome though if I could ask Alexa to turn it on but even with out that it has many other convenient things. This printer with definitely be a use in my family. I've been using my Epson Artisan 837 all-in-one for years now and love it so i had high expectations for this new Epson XP-970. Well, let me say this small-in- one printer did not disappoint on any level. It was a pleasure using from start to finish producing clear, sharp text and incredibly professional photos! The basic setup was a breeze as was downloading the Windows CD and configuring the wireless/wifi connection with a few clicks on my laptop and taps on the printer's touchscreen it was very simple. The XP-970's touchscreen is smooth and motorized. The angle makes it easy to use and the icons are very clear and understandable.
I'm a realtor and put it to great use by using it to print out a listing presentation. It came out absolutely gorgeous with a stunning photo of the front of the home which i used as the first page of the marketing packet. The homeowner commented on how great the photo of her home looked saying that it appeared so crisp and sharp with amazing colors.
I'm also really excited to try to print photos on CDs and to use it with my Alexa! I also use my Ipad a lot and my cell and it works with all of them! Very cool features. I would highly recommend the Epson XP-970. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that i received free of charge to do a beta test & review

Received the Epson XP-970 last week. So far I am really impressed. The set up was a piece of cake. Turn on the printer and the control screen automatically lifts up. The screen has everything thing you need,, Copy scan etc.
There are 2 paper cassettes. The bottom one holds the 8x10 paper and the upper one is where you put your photo paper. It seems to automatically sense what paper you have in and what size. Very happy with this. The tray that holds the finished printout Automatically expands and retracts. The only problem I had was when taking out the #1, upper cassette, I pulled out the #2 at the same time. The only problem was getting them back into place. After a few tries they clicked back in.
Very happy with the printing. No empty spaces or lines.

My household has been in need of a good printer for a while. My husband and nephew are both in school. So printing is a must. I do plenty of DIY projects so this specific printer came in handy. My favorite part is that it has so many features. But the photo printing sold me. I love that its touch screen and has a sleek body. It gives the printer a futuristic vibe. Since my nephew will be using it im sure he will appreciate the mobile printing. That way he can just print from his phone. Overall I love this printer. And the Instructions and set up were so easy. 10/10 would reccomend. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I find this printer really exceptional over the ones I have had in the past. That is including the HP one I currently have purchased 1 year ago. The setup process was easy to hookup, and the directions is simply as well. The voice talk to me is a great addition and really helps get things processed faster for me. It’s easy to use and picks up your voice automatically with no sensitivity issues.
What I did find intriguing about this one was the six different cartridges they had. I processed some pictures and graphs for my business, which turned out really great. The two sided auto print is really convenient when processing documents. Everything pulls up quicker with this printer then it does with my other printer, which is quite amazing to me. I've been struggling to find a decent printer for photos, specially because I'm decorating a wall with some pictures I've taken over the years. As I need different sizes and sometimes just want to try how well a picture will go with the others next to it, having a printer at home is of the essence. After looking and trying some other printers, I had the chance to try this one for free as part of a beta test and I'm glad I enrolled! The quality of the printer is really good, specially for photos and has definitely made my life easier as I can print my pics from home and put them on the wall right after. It's also easy to set up and it looks really beautiful on my desk. It's price is a bit above some other printers but it's definitely worth it!

I got this epson expression photo small in one printer and i love it. I love that the photo quality is really good and that this printer has a fax and scan feature and it makes my life and job easier due to the fact that it is wifi enabled and it has the capability to print 2 sided pages.
This printer has the option to print from my mobile phone and the print is pretty quick it is only a couple of seconds so i can have my documents in my hands in a hurry. So this printer lets me go moblie since it isnt pretty big and it is not very bulky. I dont have an office space so for this printer to be smaller is a plus for me and i love that and the fact that it does not compromise in the quality of the picture print. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

This is an awesome printer. It gives great print quality. I have mine hooked up to my network through the ethernet port and it works flawlessly. Only thing I haven't had the opportunity to do it the larger 11x17 printing. Every other type I have done. I have been waiting to get a new DSLR camera to get better quality photos. I have had mine since 2020. I have never had any issues with it. Ive used the print server to print on vacation a few times as well and had the photos waiting for me. It worked really well. Overall its a great printer and should definitely be considered

I am a fan and user of Epson since years and their products have been very loyal to me. I have got an amazing experience using epson xp-970 since I love photography and art is my passion, this all in one printing, copying and scanning has helped me bring my creativity into colors and has made my work easy-breezy.
Right out of the box, setting up this printer was no hassle ( if you are a frequent printer user ) and even if you're not, reading the manual would be enough to understand its features and installation. There is a CD inculded in the box which is the software that you have to download inorder to complete the setup for your computer. Additional apps are needed to be downloaded in your mobile / tablet for it to operate wirelessly e.g google print. Epson creative print app is another app where your creativity begins. It has alot of features and options which includes printing of coloring books ,create custom cards ( I created a Valentine's day card with it and it turned out fantastic), creating labels, tags , printing logos. It has a slot of cd/ dvd so that you can print directly printable cds / dvds ( useful for presentations).
I am using this printer for about one week and it has literally the game changer. This printer has printing resolution 5760x1440 dpi and scanning resolution 4800 dpi which gives an incredible picture and photo print with absolute clarity and vibrant colors just like professional photos. It has outstanding features and can print photos on almost all types of papers ( i have tried on epson premium glossy paper and the results were phenomenal) with borderless photos and size up to 11 x17. The fast printing of the photos in about 10-12 second is another great feature which i would like to mention and that too with the convenience of your mobile or tablet because of the fact that its wireless with excellent connectivity not only with wifi but also with my google home and other voice enabled devices. Its lightweight, compact with sturdy built and a large responsive screen that automatically comes up when turned on and a foldable flap to scan which keeps my originals safe.
I am now truly being able to enjoy all of the photos when they are gorgeously printed because viewing photos in mobile and having them printed are two different things and i believe one should definitely try and see how beautiful it feels to have them in your hand.

This Photo, all in one printer is truly one of a kind , and also top of the line!
Where to start???!!!!
To begin , this printer , and all of the many epson printers i have all come packed extremely well and secure , and i love how all the accessories all come in their own designated slot. Each and every tray and lid all come protected to insure safe delivery next , on printer setup. The included instructions are very clear and the on screen instructions as well help make the setup a breeze on to the printer features-WOW! This printer was evidently extremely well thought out and planned. for example , the folding 4 inch lcd display is actually MOTORIZED!!!!! that's nuts!! not only that , even the output paper tray is also MOTORIZED!! not having to worry about forgetting to open the tray and have all your prints all over the place is amazing! and when you power down the printer , it all folds away BY ITSELF!!!!!
The print quality is really high quality and it really churns out amazing pictures! besides all the other really cool features this awesome printer has- like , double sided printing , pc free/wifi printing, 2 paper trays and others- the most amazing stand out feature i love is that this printer can connect to your smart home devices!!!! i can tell my google home to print out my shopping list , and BOOM ! its done! MIND BLOWN!!
The only thing i dislike about this printer is that its a bit large and heavy , but other wise AWESOME!!!

This is an awesome choice for an all in one printer! Set up was very easy. It walks you through everything on the screen. I love that it actually had pictures that it displayed to show you how to do everything. The screen is adjustable and a very nice size. It was a little confusing figuring out the cartridges for the paper but once I did it was super easy to use it. Adding it to my computer was really simple.
After setting it up I tested the features. it was all very easy to use and the quality of the printed sheets was great. It scanned quickly. My only complaint is it doesn't have a scan to email option. But giving the quality of the printer that isn't a big deal. It scanned to the computer fine. I would definitely recommend this printer. “This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

This is not my first Epson printer so setup was a breeze. I was printing my first photo within 12 minutes of opening the box. Directions were complete and the setup software worked perfectly. The printer is wireless so I didn't need to have it hugging the computer.
I used Epson glossy paper for my first trial photos. They were rich in color and the skin tones were especially lifelike. The photos dried quickly and were fast to print. The touch screen is a no brainer. I will use Epson ink when the time comes to replace it. The quality of the printer is comparable to its price and I'd highly recommend this printer/All-in-One.

A few years ago I switched to color laser printers due several inkjet printer issues namely: the high cost of ink, slow printing speed, and multiple printer failures. However, there has been one downside to that decision - if I wanted photos printed I had to send my files to an online service or Costco to be printed which was a bit inconvenient. With this printer, those days are in the past - the picture print quality from this printer is on par with professional prints (and I didn't even set the print quality to high!).

An Average Printer with Wireless Problems
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Setup
The initial setup of the printer was easy. The printer has a user-friendly touch screen setup, guiding the user with step-by-step prompts for ink installation. However, the wireless installation did not work as well as installing the ink. I used the software download from the Epson site (I don’t have a CD player on my laptop). I spent too much time trying to get my laptop connected to the printer. Even after getting the wireless connected to my printer, I could not install the Google Print software because the site for downloading the software gave me the error. I spent two hours getting the wireless software installed.
Printing, Scanning, and Copying
Printing, once I finally managed to connect, worked. The scanning and copying functions worked, but the copy came out with blurry print. The printer reminded me that I still had the original on the scanner bed. I was unable to test the tablet and cellphone functions because I couldn’t download the Google Print software. I didn’t have a memory card to test the SD functions, and the vendor had neglected to ship the CD insert tray for me to test that function of printing on CDs. In summary, my experience with the Expression Photo XP-970 printer is that it is a basic printer with wireless connectivity issues. “This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-970 Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

First Epson I’ve owned in years. I forgot how versatile they are. As an audio engineer, I appreciate the ability to design labels and print directly to CD media. All other functions are top notch, and ink usage is very economical, especially for the quality. Highly recommended.
