Awesome Printer with a Great Feature Set

The unboxing and setup of this printer was very simple and streamlined. I was able to complete the unboxing and basic setup in under ten minutes. The driver installation was clear and straightforward on both my windows and mac machines. I really like how they integrated the cloud services setup into the driver installation. It made it simple to setup a custom email address for the printer that I can use to print documents simply by sending an email. This is something that I will use quite often to print a document at my home while I’m at the office. It also was very simple to set up Google Cloud Print and mobile printing which is something that was quite challenging with my previous printer. This printer also comes with a large supply of ink which was very much appreciated as replacing printer ink is usually irritating and expensive. In two weeks of using the Epson 7700 printer, I have been quite impressed with the print quality. The “look” of the printed pages far exceeds the quality of our previous printer. No printing lines are visible in an average print job. I most often use the printer to print shipping labels, and it does so quickly and with ease. I appreciate how quickly this printer works, and the small and compact body size is excellent for a smaller office setting. (I had assumed that the printer would be far larger than it actually is.) Perhaps my favorite feature of this printer is its ability to print via WIFI with my mobile device. This has been a convenient addition to our household! This is a review for the Epson Expression Premium ET-7700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

We purchased the Epson ecotank 7700 to update & replace a printer / scanner combo we already owned. We were hoping it would produce high quality prints of original artwork. Unfortunately, after many attempts on our own and again with additional technical support, we were unable to get accurate color, detail and (or) color saturation. We liked the concept of the refillable ink cartridges and the printer / scanner combination but were not satisfied with the quality of the prints. It would be a good option for a standard household printer, but not for original art / graphic design.

I was excited to read about the EcoTank technology when I first heard about it, and after trying it out first-hand, I am not at all disappointed. This little printer is pretty impressive, even after just over a week of use. I really needed this more for the color photo printing features than anything. Setup was easy, a whole new experience on this one! Ink install was just as everyone has mentioned - truly a no-brainer. I like the idea that I am able to print whatever quantities or quality of documents or photos that I need, without having to watch the ink supply dwindling with each sheet. Granted, I might have to deal with filling the tanks in a year or two (according to Epson), but it's very nice to be able to SEE the ink levels in the front of the printer instead of merely trusting whatever internal system the manufacturer designed for displaying warning dialogs to warn you that ink is low. It will certainly be a pleasure not to look at those incessant warnings - at least for awhile! The setup with my network was seamless, as I noticed when I opened the printer box, there was a note on top, containing a web address directing me the latest software, so I disposed of the CD that came with this and went straight to Epson for it. It recognized my wifi network right away, and installed whatever drivers were needed. There was a firmware update, which was just 2-3 clicks on the web-based app on my computer, and it was done in a flash. When I printed from my laptop and my iPhone the 7700 showed up as an option under my printers, already, so there was no additional setup required for a different OS. It will also display the ink levels, allows me to scan/copy, or get images from the cloud to print. The color prints are way better than was getting with my old printer. I gave up printing photos at home years ago, due to the expense and bother of constantly buying ink refills (and inferior quality). However, with the great quality of the photos this 7700 is printing and the amount of ink it comes with there will be a lot more photos printed. The lack of a fax capability is not a big issue for me. Although I would prefer that the paper tray held more than 150 sheets of paper, having the dedicated trays (one for regular paper, one for photo paper) is a big bonus. No more printing the wrong document to the wrong tray and wasting paper (and ink). It also has a slot for printing CDs and DVDs, which I have not tested yet. Bottom line, if you are in the market for a printer, or just looking for an upgrade - this is a great solution and the quality is impressive. You'll also have the added bonus of delving into the new, super-convenient printer ink technology. This is a review for the Epson Expression Premium ET-7700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

    Epson ET-7700 Wireless All-In-One Printer

First, let me just say I was super excited when I received my Epson Expression Premium ET-7700 EcoTank All-In-One Printer! I couldn’t wait to get it out of the package, set up and begin to play with my new toy. I know really geeky of me but it’s ok that’s just who I am. Printer was super easy to set up. Once you get everything taken out of the packing there is a super easy to follow guide that says, “Start Here” on it. This explains how to unpack the printer, how to fill the tanks, how to load the paper, and how to install the software on your computer. Once you get everything unpacked, filling the tanks are easy. The tanks are marked and so are the ink bottles. The instructions tell you exactly what to do to fill the tanks. It took very little instruction, only watching me once and my 14-year-old now knows how to fill the tanks on the printer properly. He also stated that it was simple and “fun” to do. Installing the software on my computer was simple too. Once I inserted the cd into my computer I just let the instillation software run until it was done only interacting with it when it needed me to. I used the wireless setting so that I didn’t have to directly hook the printer up to my computer. This way it also lets other members of my family print to my printer also. Just makes things easier for me and cuts down on the amount of cords behind my computer. The printer does a wonderful job printing just about everything from pictures to documents. It also does a wonderful job copying documents and scanning in pictures to my computer. I couldn’t ask for anything more from this printer at this point. The colors are crisp, clean and the ink doesn’t smudge when the print comes out of the printer. If you are looking for a good all-in-one printer this one is the one for you!

Not impressed by this printer. Every time you need to print, you must open the cover. Yes, you save on toners but they hit you on other parts that must be periodically changed. It does not have the feeder for bulk scanning, copying or printing like Artisan 837. It seems that Epson wanted to desperately follow the new ecco trend but forgot about key details.

Worst printer ever. Goes off line constantly, for no reason. Then it started leaving black ink blobs on every photo or document I printed. I have tried everything recommended with no success. Tired of ruined photos and wasted paper. It’s going in the garbage and I bought a new HP.

I was really excited to get this printer. I hate replacing ink cartridges. All my recent printers use individual tanks, so I only have to replace the used colors, but this is a major step forward. Upon opening the printer seems pretty straightforward. It's not huge, but it's not a tiny little thing, either. It's a pretty standard layout with paper trays under and a scanner on top. No automatic document feeder, but this isn't a business model, so I wasn't expecting one. I like the dedicated tray for photo paper. I don't print a lot of photos at home, but it's nice to have when I do want to. Setup was pretty much all automated and took less than 15 minutes. I like the keyed bottles, so I can't really mess that up by putting the wrong color in the wrong tank! It also appears to be a pretty clean process. No mess. I had paper towels on hand, but didn't need them. Setup on my Windows 10 computer was painless and I was ready to go. I chose to use a wired ethernet connection, as it's sitting right next to my switch. No problems there. I tried printing a number of different documents: pdf, excel, work, web pages. All worked without any issues. Print quality was excellent. I normally use a little bit heavier paper for my printing and it worked great. I tried some cardstock and had equally good results. Paper handing is fine. It's not a super quiet printer, but it's not overly loud. Pretty normal there. I tried scanning a couple photos from photoshop. NO surprises. It just worked. I'm looking forward to seeing how long the ink lasts, but I'm reassured that topping it off will be effortless. This is a quality, basic printer that just works. I'm happy.

    Great printer for college students

I am very happy with this printer, with the experience on buying around 3 printers overall, this has been the best so far hands down. I have always been loyal when buying printers and I stay on the same brand, but this printer has everything I and my family need. First, the unboxing of the printer was super easy. Everything was on place and ready to be pull out and setup. No crazy cables like the old printers I used to have. The instructions of the printer were clear when removing safety stickers and foam. When I got to the setting up I felt kind of nervous of spilling the ink all over the place. Wow! I was amazed on how easy it was to pour the ink inside the printer. The bottles just locked into place with the printer. I just lined up the patters and boom! The bottles would connect, and ink started flowing by itself and automatically stopped when it filled up. There was no way I could have spilled the ink. After this there was a bit of confusion on how to initialize the printer but that was no issue, I just hoped on YouTube and watched a video on how to set up that part on the official Epson YouTube channel. That video was a massive help for me and guided me. After everything was ready, I used the printer for various jobs. Scanning my school paper work, printing essays and copying paper work. Everything came out perfect. Fast and super clean with no issues of the paper getting stuck. Two things that surprised me was how I can insert different size of paper and the tray can be easily be adjusted depending on the size of the paper, and that I CAN PRINT ON CD/DVD! How amazing is that!!! AND print, copy and scan WIRELESSLY! Overall, I am super happy with this printer and I will no longer buy ink cartridges that cost $30 and get empty in a couple of days. I am a college student living with 3 other college students and we love what this printer is capable of! I like the ink cartridge setup, but this flimsy design of the front of the printer is TERRIBLE. The trays are really cheap and flaps covering them get in the way of tray access. Had I seen this in person, I never would have purchased it.

I recently got to test this printer out and I am now wondering why someone hasn't thought of doing something like this before now. First off, removing this printer from the box was even easier than other printers I have had. Setup was extremely easy. Just follow the directions on the Quick Start page and you are done in 15 minutes. Make sure that when you are removing all of the tape and other packing materials that you do not mess with the plastic cover that goes over the ink tubes. This is a nice looking printer that doesn't take up a lot of room. It features a control panel that can be adjusted. The screen is not a touch screen which would have been nice but not necessary. This printer provided good quality prints on everything that I tested it out with, photos, documents, etc. The best part of this printer is the Eco-tank. This printer comes with enough ink for 2 years! I can't say how many times I have been printing something when the ink cartridge went dry. With this printer, you can visually see exactly how much ink is left. A huge plus! Instead of using cartridges, this little gem uses bottles of ink. So whenever it looks low, just add another bottle. I remember trying to use a refillable ink cartridge years ago. By the end of it, I had ink all over my hands and my printer. No such problem with this printer. Simply life the cover, locate the ink that is low and lift the lid, slide the bottle in and you are done. I filled all 5 colors without getting a single drop on me or anything else. I am hoping that other printer companies catch on to this idea. Overall, this is a nice printer for the home or office, especially for those that do a lot of volume printing. A good all-round printer/scanner/copier

This printer is really nice! Setup was straightforward and easy and the instructions were clear. Because it has wireless capability I didn't even need to plug it into my PC for any of the setup. All the printing I've done so far has been through the wireless connection and has been good quality (with 1 exception - see below). Overall I would say this is one of the quieter printers I've used, and I'm happy with its printing speed. The quality of plain paper printing is excellent. Photo printing is important to me and I sent some pictures directly from my iPhone to the printer to see how well it would do. I found that the 'normal' quality setting wasn't quite good enough for me, so had to change the setting to 'best' quality and am now very happy with the results I'm getting using this. I haven't had the printer long enough to test the ink-life claims yet. I liked that there were 2 sets of ink bottles in the box. I also like the concept of the eco-tank instead of separate cartridges - filling the tanks is really easy and makes no mess. That you can physically see how much ink is left in each tank is a great feature - I've never trusted the chips on ink cartridges to give me an accurate assessment... it always feels like it's in the manufacturer's interest to get you to replace them more frequently, right? So although the initial cost of this printer is higher than a standard inkjet, when you consider what you'd pay for a standard injet + ink cartridges over 2 years, then it seems comparable or even less expensive than that bearing in mind that you'll fill some of the color tanks less frequently than others. I recommend it as a good all-round printer/scanner/copier. This printer is the definitely the easiest to use for anyone starting off with their first printer (Aka college students). First off, unlike other printers, this one only has a few components to it. just the ink and the printer itself. The set up guide is extremely easy to follow. I am a college student and have never actually set up a printer on my own. I have used other printers before and I know the struggle of putting in ink cartridges and trying to deal with paper jams, but with this one, its a breeze. The thing I like the most is that putting in the ink is so SIMPLE! You can see exactly when its running low as the levels are clearly shown on the front of the printer. And when you need to refill, you pop open the top and let the ink drip in! Its actually kind of fun I think. Another pro is that included with the printer is enough ink to last you 2 years. Being a college student, this is fantastic because this printer will see lots of essays, and I dont need to worry about getting ink for another 2 years! As long as I dont  loose the ink bottles. Overall I am very happy with how easy the printer is to use and how efficient it is. I think this could be one of the best out there for college students. It is small enough to fit under a desk and looks nice enough to not be an eyesore.  This is a great product. I have had the Epson Ecotank printer for a little over a week now and it has been a fantastic improvement over my last model. It has many bells and whistles but it does the simple things well. Setup was a breeze. Easily unpacks from the box. Instructions for setup were simple and easy to follow. Once the ink tanks were filled (Yes, ink tanks, no more expensive cartridges to deal with) I chose to finish setup using my laptop and the Epson software using the download link provided with the printer. The software automatically copied my wireless network settings to the printer, it then searched for new firmware for the printer and updated the printer. My family does a lot of printing from Apple devices which this printer handles great, even with two sided printing. I have also tested photo printing which has been met with fantastic results. Lastly, this printer comes with two years worth of ink tank refills. The ink tanks fill easily with no risk of spill and you can physically see how much ink is left in each tank. All colors can be filled individually when you need to. I can see tons of money being saved in this household on this feature. The all new Epson ET-7700 exceeded my expectation, starting with the frustration free packaging. The easy to follow through steps for setup were intuitive and user friendly. I am new to the Cartridge free super tank ink technology and am impressed, the loading of ink was spill free and idiot proof. The number of colors were also less unlike a previous cartridge based photo printer which required 13 different color cartridges. The visible level indicator for the ink storage should remove any guess work or doubts over cartridge life. The other aspect of the printer was the wireless connectivity (WPS capable) and remote OTA Firmware update which i received no sooner i completed the initial setup. I was also able to run through several prints of various types which came out nicely. The only hitch I faced was the vibration during paper feed as i had setup the printer on a makeshift foldable table. Once it was moved to an office table that was ironed out. Another wish would be the front display to be a touch screen panel as that was sorely missed, although the other controls are handy. I believe my Kinkos visits will be vastly reduced going forward!
