Love the printer just don’t like that it won’t let me print even just black and work documents if the color ink runs out.

I ended up with this printer bc it's all that was in stock and I needed a printer right then. It prints fine. My last two printers were HP and each broke after 2 years. I am done with HP, I hope this Epson doesn't die for a while.

This prints great photos! I use it mainly for school but I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of photos. If you plan to print pictures A LOT then I would not suggest this printer because I would get low in ink after 20 4x6 prints. I printed out photo Christmas cards and wasted a lot of ink testing out how it was going to look and print. If you are tech savvy then this might not be a problem for you to print. If you want an all around general home use printer then I would suggest this one because it fits all of my needs: occasional photos and plenty of prints for school.

Fairly easy to set up. Connect with my iPhone easily. Prints are quick and good quality. Not an echo tank printer, it uses cartridges. They are fairly inexpensive, but would have preferred the ink tank type.

I have had other brands of printers, but Epson is my go to printer. I don't want to spend big bucks ($300 or more) on a printer, so I go with the epson. The setup is simple, it talks you thru with no hang ups. Wi-Fi hookup was simple too. Print quality is great. Printing on a small budget this is the printer for you.

This is a good basic all-in-one. It's MUCH quieter than the Epson Workforce it replaced. It takes up far less room, which is great. The tray set-ups are a little weird but that's probably because I had gotten used to the bigger printer with a long, sturdy output tray.

I had two printers (old) fail on me - After a LOT of googling to try and find a NON HP (I don't want to be hooked by having to provide CC info for their ink!) printer that could scan and print the very few docs we have to I found this one that seemed OK. One of my old printers was a 15 year old Epson that worked very well. The hard part was finding something in stock!
The Best Buy near me said they had it "in stock" and could ship for free in a few days. It took longer than a few days but that was due to bad weather and fedex delays....
I've had the printer for almost a month and could not be happier. The WiFi connection is reliable and works fine. My wife was excited that she could print from her phone and tablet.
As for all printers these days the setup is fairly long and tedious but following instructions was straightforward.
Only downside is that it doesn't have drivers for my old iMac (but that's MY problem). It works great on W10.
I have not tried printing pictures yet so can't comment on that.
There's a LOT of plastic but if handled carefully should be OK.
One quirk is that the "output" tray has to be pulled out or it won't print - I tend to push it back so it doesn't stick out and get damaged - so I have to remember to pull it out all the time.
Scanning is OK. Limited options if you use the printer control panel. The EPSON SCAN s/w is OK.
So far so good!
Also wanted to point out the help I got from "Billy" at the store who listened and made good suggestions.

Epson printer, it's been good so far, it took me longer than expected to add to laptop and cell phone via Bluetooth and, we haven't printed it out a picture yet only docs. I would recommend.

The Epson software to get the printer configured was much more intuitive than it's competition. I've purchased 3 of a leading manufacturer printers over a 4 year span, then swapped to this Epson XP6100 and I couldn't be happier. The flexibility it gives to print basically from anywhere and it's integration with cloud providers is just awesome. Simple to load and use and reliability has not been an issue at all like past printers.

I bought my new printer - Epson XP-6100 model - a month ago, and I love it! The copy feature is the quickest I've seen yet. I make a lot of pictures from my camera's memory card, and the pictures this copier makes are so very beautiful - like from a professional photographer! The printer is also pretty compact and fits very well on my mid-sized desk. All in all, I am very pleased with this printer!

Unhappy with Epson XP-6100

I am not happy with this printer. Very temperamental. Ink is expensive and runs out quiclky. Replacement initialization takes about 4 mintes and is tedious at times. Color cartridges run out first, then when I want to print in black and white, I get a warning to print in black only, so when I do, it comes out partially printed - as shown below - so I am forced to use color all of the time (this never happened before). I had this for about 2 years and am ready to throw it in the trash. I will continue to purchase from Best Buys but I do not like this product.

This printer is very compact and has worked well so far. Set up was fairly easy. Once you get used to the different tray use it is a breeze. Havent printed photo quality photos yet. Printing from phone, tablet or desktop has been a breeze. Fairly fast print time but loud. Maintenance box has not filled up much so far. Seems like I will have to purchase one when it gets full.

The printer was easy to set up because the instructions were easy to follow. With some printer instructions, you sit there and scratch your head, or try to do as told and it doesn't work! I am pleased with the smaller size of this printer in comparison to the printer I had before which took up too much desk space. Looking forward to printing photos in the near future. Would recommend the Epson printer to others.

Bought this printer because it has independent cartridges for each color, and for black. I almost only print in black.
After about 40 pages printed, black cartridge was empty. I replaced it. 3 printed pages later, all the colors went from half full, to empty. When empty, it stops printing. Remember: I almost never print anything with colors.
I opened one of the color cartridges (it's difficult and messy): it's full of ink. Really, FULL!
They added on each cartridge a microchip, each time you print a page it decrements the counter. Even if no ink was used. So it's stupid to have independent cartridges for colors if they all go empty at the same time, even when they are still 90% full of ink.
And one pack of cartridges costs more than the printer itself.
Several times, I couldn't print something, because the printer told me there was no ink, when in fact the cartridges were FULL of ink. By full I mean more than 90% full!
Just not acceptable.
There is absolutely no way to bypass this.
Well, you can buy microchips (not from epson of course), remove the chips on the cartridges, and replace them. Which is a little tricky, but extends the life of the cartridges by A LOT.
Also I had a power outage once, the next time I needed to print, it took 25 minutes to be able to print something: it had to clean the print heads 5 times, 4 minutes each time.
In the end, this printer is EXTREMELY expensive, considering all the expensive ink you have to buy (when there is still lots of ink in each cartridge), and it is very unreliable.
