Easy Install/Use

The Epson 630 is an easy to install/easy to use economical printer for the beginner or advance PC user. When this printer is on sale, it can't be beat for price/performance; just load (ink cartridges and paper) and go. When used with Windows operating systems that automatically detect new hardware and bring in required software drivers, there is nothing for the user to do to install this wireless printer.
I have to admit that I was skeptical about the use of wireless equipment because of signal drops in wireless networks. However, so far (one month of continual use), I haven't had any problems with printing with the Epson 630 unit. I can easily recommend it to anyone who has concerns about budget-busting outlays for computer equipment.

Good Printer, But A Little Fussy

Overall this printer is a good preformer. It's main down side is the printer's touchscreen interface and fussy programming that adds an extra degree of complication to routine things.
For instance, with my old printer (an HD 5600) if I wanted to print a delivery address on an envelope, all I had to do was place the envelop on the paper tray, hold it to the right side, and press the print button. With the new Epson you need to completely pull out its paper tray/drawer, remove all the paper from it, adjust it's rails to fit the envelope, put the tray/drawer back in, then go to the printer's touchscreen and tell it to recognize the new paper size, and THEN you can press print.
Another difference: changing the ink cartridges is more involved too. With the old HP, you just pop the hood, pull out the spent cartridge, slip in a fresh one, and close the hood. With the Epson you literally have to ask your machine permission to change the ink first using the touchscreen, otherwise you can't get the ink carriage in the right position to get its cartridges out at all.
These annoyances aside, the Epson is good printer, delivering fast, crisp printouts. What's more, Epson is good about making it easy and reasonably inexpensive to get buy new ink cartridges (free shipping is nice), which is a smart move on Epson's part.

I had a size requirement when shopping for a printer. I also wanted to be able to print photos. This model is very compact and fits my space. I was fortunate that an Epson sales rep. was in the store while I was looking. (A nearby Best Buy staff member was helping another customer.) The rep. showed me how the different trays handle different tasks and materials, eg. standard paper, photo paper, write onto a CD. it would have been harder for me to fathom without his demonstration, low tech as I am. XP-630 may have been phased out since then but it is excellent for my needs. Wireless: great; mobile printing feature: not needed. Ink cartridges still give me sticker-shock.

Our HP all-in-one finally passed on and we wanted a replacement with comparable quality while staying in our budget. This printer has great quality, was easy to set up and didn't pinch the wallet.

This all in one is exactly what I wanted. Scans fast and accurately, and prints beautifully with little skill. I have Pro series printers and scanners, but wanted something simple without having to open photo programs and go through options and print setup.
My wife can print from her iPhone without me having to upload the pics on my pc and print them.

This printer/scanner gives you your money's worth! Set up was a breeze, I have yet to experience a paper jam! I needed a reliable printer and scanner for college and I got exactly what I needed. I would recommend to anyone who needs a printer for the home. Worth every penny!

This printer is easy to set up and use. I like the printing double sided feature; however, it makes it print slower. Printing is of high quality. The documents I scanned weren't crystal clear; however, they were good enough. I think it's pretty good value for the cost (I got it on sale) and it's pretty powerful for it's conveniently small size.

I bought this printer for my granddaughter to take to college. She needed one that was wireless to print out papers, reports, etc. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I was afraid of it being damaged in a small dorm room. This printer worked out perfect for her needs and was very inexpensive.

I've always purchased Hp printers in the past, but I'm sold on Epson now. This printer/scanner is easy to use and the picture quality is excellent. The menu on the printer is easy to navigate, and the wireless connection option is convenient to print from any device, including tablets & smartphones.

I'm going to preface this by mentioning that I haven't tried the "quiet" feature of this printer yet, but I'm not sure that would end up helping out.
Printer set-up was easy to follow and I love how little room this printer takes up compared to my old one. I'm also super happy about the wireless features, which my old didn't have. This one was recommended for me at the store and hasn't disappointed.
I've done a few test prints since I got the printer, both regular prints and photos. There's some great quality pictures coming out of this, which I love because it'll be great for my photography. I also love that I can print onto DVDs...now I just need to find some that will print properly!
Epson's site is easy to navigate and replenishing looks like it will be a breeze for ink and paper.
My only real complaint so far is that when paper got jammed (it was my fault- I was using the cardboard sheet at the back of the photo paper, which I thought was an actual sheet) the printer complained LOUDLY. As in, loud enough that I took a few steps back, worrying it might blow up at me. It's loud and lasts a long time, with no way to stop it until the paper is finished jamming.
There are only two other thing I'm not a fan of. First is that I have to open the output tray manually every time I want to print something. I thought I saw somewhere that it would do it automatically, but even if I didn't real that, I was kind of hoping it would... pulling it out every time is pretty annoying.
Second is how flimsy both paper input trays feel. When I first popped them in and out again I worried I was going to break them, especially the top one because it pushes in farther than it needs to, and then you have to wiggle it back out to get it to the right spot. I'll get used to it over time but I would have preferred them to feel a bit more secure.

The wi-fi set-up was very easy. I didn't have any problems setting it up on my Surface Pro 2, downloaded the software from Epson in lieu of using the cd. I've only used the scanner and the print function for documents, both worked fine. My previous printer was much older so compared to this Epson, the Epson is much quieter.

The regular paper print quality is great. I didn't think the photos looked all that great. But I like a matte photo, not high gloss. And they look a little grainy. It's pretty easy to operate. The design isn't great. All the trays are confusing to me. Does anyone need to put a cd or a SIM card in a printer anymore? There is a photo paper tray and a regular paper tray. Great. Except the photo paper tray doesn't hold 8x10 photo paper. And the OUTPUT tray is above the paper trays! Which doesn't sound like a big deal unless you are like me and use all different kinds of paper. You have to push in the output tray every time you need to open the paper trays. Then it reminds you to pull out the output tray again. I feel like I am constantly pushing in and pulling out the trays. If I had thought about it before, I would have looked for one with the output tray on the bottom so it could stay out. This is really my only problem with this printer so far.

I have been through 2 printers before this one. I thought the first printer was okay considering I didn't pay much for it. That printer was not wireless but it did basically what I needed. The 2nd printer was wireless and I purchased it for a discounted price on black Friday. It sucked. So I decided to try this one which is a different brand than I've had in the past. So far it works wonderful. I can be in a completely different area of the house and it prints without a problem. I haven't had any errors when using it. It was super simple to set up and all my devices detect it immediately. The print quality is really great as well.

This is my 4th Epson scanner/printer, and the easiest one to use so far. The WiFi works great, and the printed colors are bright. The scanner has worked well, too.
