I recently received the Epson XP-7100 printer and have been using it over the past few days. Here are my thoughts: The printer has a nice compact form factor, and some interesting design choices to keep it unobtrusive. The auto-document feeder (ADF) is hidden unless you open a "flap" on the top of the printer. The screen on the front is folded down, and automatically raises up when turned on. The paper output tray is also motorized, and comes out and stores automatically, allowing the printer to be more compact when not being used. Set up of the printer is fairly easy and self-guided on the screen. Interestingly, the printer comes with a bag to keep the caps off of the ink cartridge, presumably if moving the printer. The ink cartridges are fairly small, and do concern me about their overall capacity. The printer took about the 7 minutes to load the ink. The calibration took another 10 minutes or so to print several pages and then review. Print quality has been excellent for plain black and white images/text. Color has been fairly vibrant and accurate to images. I have not tried printing a photograph, but the printer does come with a specific "photo black" ink. There are actually several paper trays, which makes them smaller, so be prepared to load the standard sized paper more often. The second tray is designed for smaller papers and photo papers. There is also a tray for CD labels, etc. (however, I can't recall the last time I burned a CD in the age of cheap flash memory drives). The scanner function is accurate and fairly quick. ADF for the scanner is nice and handy as well. The printer nicely interfaces with Epson's cloud, but I prefer using Google Drive/cloud functions as I already use those. Google Cloud Print is fairly easy to set up and then share to other members in the house. Overall, this is a good standard home or home office all-in-one (or as Epson calls it "Small-in-One") printer/scanner. Time will tell about how long the ink lasts in the quite small cartridges, however. This printer is awful! There is ink everywhere. I’ll be returning it for sure.

Unnecessary technology ... overkill on the paper trays

Paper trays are so flimsy, might be easily broken. Not easy to set up.

Need to have the person to listen better to what I have to say.

It will only print a test sheets and nothing else.

Its so difficult to use i have to turn on and off everytime

We couldn’t get this printer to do anything we wanted it to do. It wouldn’t print a single envelope without a thick black line down the side. When we contacted Epson for support, they basically said they had no answers. The printer itself seemed very cheaply made, can’t believe it would last long even if it did work out for us. Returned it and bought an HP printer that works quite well. I can’t recommend this Epson.

Setup: The unboxing and setup was very easy and straightforward on my Windows 10 Surface Pro computer. Just follow the easy to understand instructions and make sure you have removed all of the little blue tabs. It was setup and connected to my computer in less than 20 minutes. Printing: After the initial print head adjustment process it was good to go. I used this printer for home use in my small office in the basement. The print speed and quality in black and white was perfect for printing out articles, emails and coupons. The color printing of photographs (yes I still print out photos) seems to be adequate for my needs. Features: The Auto Document Feeder was very easy to load and use. I did not experience any paper jamming or miss alignment of my scans or copies. The lack of a fax feature has not bothered me since it is easier for me to scan and email. I do not use the 2 –sided printing option very often, however it was simple to use. I should use it more often as I have been told that I cutting down a lot of trees with my printing habit. I just like hard copies! The large color touch screen is a plus as it makes it very easy to read and responds well to my fat fingers. I will not use it to edit photos as the screen is too small for me for that task. The wireless printing option from my Amazon Fire tablet or IPhone was easy to setup and use. Summary: I really like the small footprint this printer has. It has now replaced a much larger printer and I have gained new space on my desk so I can stack my hard copies that I love. I would recommend this printer for the average home user and I have never had any issues with the service or support from Epson. The Epson XP-7100 printer seems like a great printer so far. Out-of-the-box setup was quick and straight-forward. Accessing the print cartridges is easy, unlike several other inkjets I’ve owned. This printer does NOT come with a USB cable so if you plan to print by using one, you will need to get one. I had an extra so it wasn’t a big deal, but I’m surprised that it wasn’t included. Going through the ink alignment/configuring took a little while and used 6 sheets of paper. It now prints beautifully, but that seemed like a waste of paper, particularly because several of the steps only took up a fraction of the page. The printer comes with a CD with the software for the printer, but my laptop doesn’t have a CD drive so I had to download it from the internet. The quick guides are OK, but short and do not include much information about setting up the wifi. I, again, went to the Epson website for that information. I can see why they don’t include the full manual, its 138 pages long. But, the wifi set up is probably the most challenging for most people so I think it should be included with the printer in the quick guide. I had no problem getting the wifi configured from the panel on the printer but really struggled getting my dell laptop to recognize the printer. I do like that on the cover of the quick guide has links to video tutorials, those really helped. Overall, I like the printer. I will continue to play with the settings but so far I’ve printed several pages and they look great, print quietly, and print quickly. The Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Small-in-One Printer is an excellent printer for photo, advertisement, posters and other creative projects it offers quite a bit of functionality like dual side printing, borderless printing Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct plus Ethernet and even offer NFC for the ultimate connectivity options is very useful doing my experience i was able to connect my smartphone and laptop device quickly with no hassle. Printer setup from unboxing to actually using the printer for project took less than an half hour. I am a above average technology, but the printer is convenient enough for the average user as well. Epson provides very detailed instructions for operating and setting up printer for the first time. Secondly, this Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Small-in-One Printer including several additional features in the setting options to really customize your ideal printing style or needs; from altering the border dimensions and increase text and photo quality, speed and type of paper for the printing style such as even envelopes.The superior printer quality creates razor sharp images and projects. printing technology is very impress printing results are stunning on premium gloss paper!. Which greatly enhances the visual presence, object and value of print assisting to create a truly vivid image that really pops! The printer is an excellent addition to my current printer. Also Expression XP-7100 has generous photo print capacity. Highly Recommend for specialty printing needs for home and work! This printer is perfect for home. It is small so it will not take up a lot of space however it still has your basic functions. This gives you 3 different options for printing. You can print wireless, direct usb connect or wired network connection. I prefer wireless but before I explain how to connect the wireless or mobile printing. Let me tell you about the setup. The setup process was pretty simple if you follow the directions. I did follow them, however, I missed a step when removing the blue tape so I got an error initially. Then when putting the ink in I did not place the ink in correctly so I had to redo it which again was my error. I believe if I followed the directions completely it would have taken me maybe 5 minutes. It is a very quick setup. Once you install the ink the printer will say it takes 7 minutes to install but it was more like 3 or 4 minutes. All in all I was very impressed with the ease of the setup and how it took barely any time. Now the best part for me was the mobile printing. It was very simple to connect just select your router enter your internet password on the printer and download the epson iprint app on my phone. That was it. I couldn't believe it. The quality of the print and or scan is just great. I printed out a menu from my phone with a colored background and I was pleasantly surprised how well the quality and clarity of the print. So I just got the Expression Premium XP-7100 Wireless Printer last week, in hopes of finding a nicer smaller printer that could handle everyday prints and task. I was tired of the humongous hp one I have. I mainly use my Printer for documents, school related work  and special occasions invitations.I wanted something more modern and less complicated, but could still hold up to it's bigger competitors.  Taking it out of the box wasn't too easy but what is these days. I must say its was lighter in weight than I expected, as it is a all-in-one printer. Setting up was bearable just followed instructions. It was easy to download the app and connect to my phones wifi . Just remember things take time no set up or installation happens with a snap of the finger.   I had some fancy paper and decided to play with how good it could actually print,  and was impressed. I printed a mock invitation for my special birthday and was surprised.  The Epson Expression  has optimized editorial parts and easy navigation made this look professional and elegant.  Im in love, I then switched it up and printed out an picture of me and my hubby and it came out phenomenal,  of course I also used photo paper.  Overall its a great home Printer to have especially if you dont want something that will take up to much space. Most printers today will handle the basics well - B+W prints, color prints, the occasional photo. But most fail to make the user experience easy and painless. This printer performs well, and is a breeze to setup and use. For starters, I have never had such an easy time setting up a printer, especially one with wireless connectivity. The touchscreen interface is very responsive and makes it very easy to put in my WiFi password. Within 15 minutes I had it connected and spitting out great quality prints. I also appreciated the detailed head-alignment process that the printer goes through upon initial setup. You can see that Epson cares about printer performance, and is proactive about getting your prints right, not just waiting until there is a problem to troubleshoot. One other thing I especially like about this printer is the multiple trays, and two-way adjustable drawer for whatever paper size you have. It really feels like a commercial-grade printer shrunk down to consumer size. No more feeding the paper in and wondering if I stuck it in too far, or not far enough. The performance, value, and ease of use make this a definite 5-star printer! Very disapoinred would not print out of the box! big fan of Epson I plan to exchange

After my terrible experiences with an HP4155e for 2 years, my Son bought me this Expression 7100 Epson for Xmas. Was on sale at BB for $149.99. SIMPICITY & DEPENDABILITY is what I needed most. Good print quality too. He researched this one, bought it, and sent me a YouTube video of it being unboxed and setup. Made it a SNAP. Setup was flawless, WiFi pairing simple, and the iPrint phone App works great with a SImple clean dashboard. Printing is excellent and scanning a breeze. I recommend it for Seniors who want a dependable home all-in one.

If you are in the market to buy a great printer I would highly suggest you look into purchasing the Epson XP-7100.It is small and compact but it gets the job done! It prints,copies,scans,and you can even print photos or cd’s.The initial set up is easy and straightforward and the print quality is exceptional.The printer is touchscreen and has many features such as the ability to print or scan 2 sided documents,wireless mobile printing,30 page document feeder,and so much more. Okay, lets start by saying I had a HP photo inkjet for 12 years. When compared the HP model within the same price range to the Epson expressions 7100 and the epson won on just looks alone. After a few days of tweeking I printed off a dozen home made photo Christmas cards that were beautiful! My old HP was a work hourse but I am not sad to see it go. I find this epson is so much more quieter than my clunky HP. The sleek design fits right into a small space and it looks like an expensive media component. I have only had it for 6 days but I am so happy with the results. The price was amazing and with the return option verified by the BB staff it's a sure bet. Not sure how long the ink will last but that's never been a main concern for me since im lost without a printer I just keep an extra set. Love this machine!

most of my printing is b/w and i have a printer for that thank you. but some projects require color at photo quality. imho Epson has always led the way in photo imaging because of its 5-6 color inking system. i also wanted this printer to be wired to the ethernet and not depend on wifi. anyway i give it top credit for connectivity options (it even has SD card slot). when used with photo paper it gives expected quality. i did not need the scanning function, so i have not tried that feature. it is compact and light enough to be used on regular book shelving.
