I purchased this printer for home use as well as occasional remote work. It is very user friendly, easy setup, and most importantly to me, allows the use of legal size paper. As for photos, I have not yet purchased photo paper, but I did print a photo on paper and it was amazingly beautiful! I am very happy with this purchase and you wil be, too!

I've always been a fan of Epson's Expression line, and when my XP 810 was getting to be long in the tooth and ink was getting harder to find, I naturally looked for something similar.
The XP 7100 has a lot of the same features of the XP 830 it succeeds, and if upgrading from the 830, you will even be able to enjoy using the same Epson 410 ink cartridges.
Print quality is phenomenal, between text documents with sharp black lettering, color graphics on plain paper, and photographs, this is an extremely versatile home printer, not only do dual paper trays add to convince when wanting to print the occasional 4x6 or 5x7 photo, the inclusion of AirPrint means anyone using an iPhone has almost plug and play printing. This thing can even print on printable disks if that's your thing.
The biggest drawback for this printer is the somewhat iffy build quality. The award of "plasticy" is unfortunately well earned. While the dust cover over the ADF has a solid click closed and open, it feels thin. The top of the printer cover the scan bed also has a weird lightness due to its extensive plastic construction. While the sizable touchscreen on the front of the printer is bright, clear, and responsive, the lack of any kind of glass or clear acrylic over the screen, makes the direct interaction with the printer feel cheap. The paper trays are hilariously tiny, and the dust cover for the rear bypass feed feels incredibly fragile.
The plastic construction mostly limited to the exterior as the ink carriage rails and internal components feature a significant amount of metal, and while I nag about the plastic construction, the catch tray and screen unit are motorized and automatic, and have a satisfying, dampened gear feeling if they need to be manually closed.
This printer is a phenomenal home printer for someone looking for a photo centric home printer. The exceptional print quality and plethora of features out weight the shortcomings in build quality, as well as slightly more expensive ink costs when compared to other options. If you're looking for something to keep up with crafting, scrap booking, photography, or art, this gem for Epson is a wonderful choice.

Printer is great! Have not had any issues with set up. Printing out my drawings came out perfect and the colors look great for this little compact printer to do. I’m satisfied with the quality of the print job. At first I had it set for the wrong paper type so it got a little extra ink mark on picture but after I figured out I needed to correct the type of paper and size . It came out perfect! No marks, no smudges, color is great! The better quality paper helps too. Don’t buy the thin paper as ink tends to run through or smudge. Wait for ink to dry well. We had this printer set up through our Wifi and no issues at all. We have had this printer since January 20th,20 consistently using it and all has been fine. Perfect size for small desks in bedroom.

Highly recommended. I bought this not because I needed a printer but because I hated the HP I bought last year, worst printer I've ever owned and I have owned several HP's. This printer far out classes the HP and out performs it in every way. HP is clearly not what it used to be. It was easy to setup after I figured out not to use the auto connect recommended and used the WI FI wizard instead. Print quality is excellent, it is very compact and has a large LCD screen. When you start a print the motorized panel raises and the the motorized paper tray comes out, very impressive to watch. This is absolutely one of the best printers if you want impressive prints and ease of use. Far superior to the HP's.

This not the first Epson printer I have had, and I have been very happy with the previous models. This printer is replacing an Epson that I have had for about 7 or 8 years, that finally stopped working. The XP-7100 is more compact than my previous one and I like that, given the limited space I have for its installation. Setup was easy and, after about 2 weeks of usage, everything has worked exactly as it is supposed to. The quality of print is good, although I have not yet printed any photos. I like that the output tray will retract and then automatically re-appear when it is needed. I only hope that this is not a mechanical feature that will fail prematurely.

BEST PRINTER EVER! It does not take a lot of space. Easy to set up. Solid well built unlike the cheaper printers. Saves money on ink, not using the Tri-Color ink cartridge .

Easy to set up, although I thought online instructions could have been more clear. The paper tray does not hold a lot of sheets, but sufficient for a compact machine. Print quality is excellent. Plastic parts, as expected. motorized trays and displays makes me wonder about reliability.

I already like this printer a lot. It installed on my hotspot network easily. It is smaller than the old one and has a folding dust cover over the top paper-feed platform. Paper-source control is flexible, and I immediately could use many sizes of paper. My first try printing a #10 envelope came out perfectly. The straighter path of the back feed slot works great, too. A couple of seconds slower to start than my old printer, but who cares. Overall a big improvement over the old printer and it cost $50 less. Thanks.

This printer has been easy to assemble and works great. It is not too heavy and is the right size. The wireless feature is what sold us since we can print from multiple pcs. Buy it, you'll like it.

I had to get a new printer because my HP printer died after about 7 years. I went with the Epson because it was compact looking and its description and reviews said it was a good mix of office productivity and photo printing.
I am glad I got this one. Everything he simple to run and setup. The transition between letter and photo printing is effortless, all prints come out looking great, at a good speed. One of my favorite features is that the output tray will retract at the push of a button and the whole machine closes when not in use to prevent dust inside.
There are multiple settings for different paper sizes, and the printer will adjust automatically to what size you put in the trays.

My Epson is my go to printer for photo printing. It is an ink hog but the crisp quality is noticeably better than most other printers that I have used before. This is my 2nd Epson color printer. I saved a lot buying a factory refurbished unit and adding the Asurion extended warranty to the purchase. I do my everyday and bulk printing on a Brother Inkvestment Tank printer. I used to be an HP user but neither HP nor Brother come close to the photo print quality of an Epson for printing photos.
