Epson has been in this game a long while, and really has the consumer printer down pat. Characters are crisp, photos are very sharp and colors accurate. The display on the front is also bright and very legible. I would recommend this printer. But be advised that they make their money on selling ink cartridges, not the printer. You will pay in the long run.

I've always been a fan of Epson. This Expression XP-830 is my favorite so far. I replaced my old Workforce 850. I was looking specifically for I've with an ADF. This has that and more. The automatic sitting output paper tray is pretty awesome. Have already printed a number of 4x6 photos and they came out great. Highly recommend this printer.

My HP printer stopped working and I needed a replacement quickly. Read great things about this printer and they proved to be true. Setup was a snap and connected easily to my laptop, tablet, and phone. Even remote setup was uncomplicated! I enjoy the top feed of paper and the ability to print on both sides.

This was a great deal at less than $100 on sale, and had great reviews. Initially this printer did a great job as a light use home printer. It was small, compact, and had good quality prints. It made some weird noises and took forever to setup printing from the rear input tray, but it was a minor inconvenience. What went wrong then? Well, just over a year later, I ran out of the initial ink that came with the printer, and had to purchase $100 worth of new ink to fill all of the colors, which was irritating, since I only used the black primarily, but the printer wont print unless all colors are installed. A few weeks after installing the new inks, the printer menu screen suddenly kept popping up with errors that could not be cleared on the screen, and the printer made ungodly sounds when turned on. I tried to turn off and on again, unplug, etc to fix the issue, but the menu screen kept popping up errors and would not function. After unplugging and letting sit for a week, I turned it back on, and thankfully no error! I went to print a black and white document, and BAM... message stating the printer can't print since it's fully out of Yellow/Cyan ink, and almost out of the rest of the colors! Whatever the printer was doing when it was erroring out completely drained my ink. (assuming it was nonstop cleaning the print heads or something) My brand new $100 worth of ink was gone. Over $200 spent on printer and ink, and printed off less than 100 pages of black and white only documents. Time to search for a new printer brand. Will not be going back to Epson.

I have a home office that I work primarily out of after being used to the standard high end giant devices seen in any office. This worked perfectly for me just at home-color for printing without long term issues, double sided, *very important* fast scanning, photos, wireless...best one I’ve had to date. Would 100% recommend especially given the price point.

My HP office jet stopped printing and my wife wanted to try a different manufacturers and it was on sale so I gave it a try.

Excellent performance. I like it better than my HP Office Jet Pro8500A which it replaced (after some years of service), I especially liked the many features that are combined with the small footprint. Setting up the wireless connection took longer than I expected. I also own an Epson XP-400 printer and setting up the wireless connection for that seemed much easier.

Small, smart and easy the connect to WiFi. Good print and great value

A little slower than I’m used to, but does what I want. Prints nicely in CDs. I like the scan function also.

I love everything about this printer. It is compact and loaded with features. It will double sided scan and print, which saves paper and time. It has a retractable document holder to support the printed sheets and it automatically retracts and extends as needed. I was not sure of it when I first took a look at it. I did some research and I love it and highly recommend it.

This is my third xp-830. The previous two had problems with black ink blobs after about 11 months’ moderate usage. I bought the third one anyway after researching others because I want the photo printing quality, which is excellent, and because the sale price was good. I expect about one year usage before problems arise. Paper cartridge is flimsy quality, hard to re-insert in printer after refilling paper. Uses a lot of ink; costs over $100 to replace all cartridges. Will not print if one ink cartridge is empty. Was unable to set up wireless feature. Scan feature using Mac setup options was working, then stopped working today; using Scan button on printer still works but cannot use options. Have talked 3 times will support technicians since purchase, but am still having problems.
