Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the FastFoto FF-640's ease of use, excellent image quality, and user-friendly software as significant advantages. The scanner's compact size is also a plus for many users. However, some customers find the price to be a drawback, and a few have reported occasional issues with paper handling. have scanned approximately 4000 pics so far. the quality and speed of the scans is excellent. the software auto corrects faded photos and does an excellent job with the corrections. the software recommends you clean the scanner often, which is a very good idea. I use a camera lens brush to get the picture dust out of the machine and it works great. although a little pricey, if you have thousands of photos to scan, I would definitely recommend this scanner (when it's on sale)

My wife bought this unit for scanning because she was tired of the slow all in one printers. Night and day she says, so I would recommend this for sure. Compact enough for her small office in our bedroom.

The photo scanner works very well and fast. It is easy to setup and scans most photos without any issues. Just be careful with small format photos. The program that adjusts the quality of photos scanned does a pretty good job. The biggest improvement I noticed was with older color photos. Some of the results were really great. The only issue I have with this scanner is the price. For the price it would be nice if the editing program had more features.

Hurricane Irma made me realize how much I value the boxes of photos we have accumulated over the years. This scanner works great! It is fast and with good results. My photos are now preserved.

This is one of the best purchases I have made this year. I was very reluctant to spend that much for a scanner, but it is well worth it. The biggest problem is sorting and categorizing your pictures. Once you have the sorting done, all you do is load and name the files. The speed and quality of the scan is exceptional. If the rollers are not cleaned regularly (I used alcohol) you will have slippage and distortion of the image. After your done with your pictures, tell your friends to sort their pictures, to bring the drinks, and scan them all in no time! I have scanned over 1,000 pics and (with cleaning), have had no problems.

This scanner made short work of over 3000 pictures from a recently passed family member. The photos were of all sizes and quality including some old black and whites. Automatic document feeder had few issues and it was easy to keep it going with simple cleaning. The included software did great with the automatic enhancements, two sides scans for notes and file organization. Phenomenal product!

I set a goal of digitizing all of my photographs but I knew it wasn't going to happen unless I bought a scanner that made it fast and simple. This scanner does that. The photos are scanned at an incredible speed. The photos can be saved 'as scanned' and also 'enhanced'. The enhanced copy removes red eye and takes some liberties with the colors - small changes in brightness, removing yellowness from age, etc. The enhanced copies often look better than the original. I am very happy with my purchase but the price is hefty. There is also some maintenance required. Whenever a piece of dust gets inside the scanner, the digitized photo will have a line. You need to look at all of your digitized photos to make sure the scanner is clean. The inside of the scanner must be cleaned every 100-200 photos scanned. This only takes about a minute using the cloth provided with the scanner.

As reviewed extensively elsewhere, this is an excellent scanner for converting photos to digital. Besides speed, quality of scan, software, etc., one of the features I found very helpful is the embedding of metadata - an approximate date (decade, year, season, month, etc.), so that old photos can be viewed on a timeline by applications. It helps if photos are clean - otherwise the scanner needs to be cleaned more frequently. Highly recommended. Biggest negative of course is its cost. This is an expensive scanner so is only worthwhile buying it if you have a large number of photos to scan.

Purchased this in November 2017 to deal with a few thousand printed photos going back thirty+ years. So far I'm impressed. This thing is fast. Even on the higher resolution, it only takes a second or so to scan the photo and then a few seconds more to transfer the images to Photos on our iMac. Several reviews have referenced lines appearing on images due to dirt on the 'roller's' in the machine. Only encountered this after a few hundred scans and after a quick & easy clean the problem was solved. To date have been using a flat bed scanner which has double the resolution but scanning four prints would take several minutes vs. several seconds. It is a trade off one has to decide upon. To date happy with the purchase.

Good scanner for heavy duty scanning.

I would probably start this review with a full disclaimer: I received this unit free of charge for beta testing. Although I only had around a week to play around and test it, I think I have made some decent conclusions. The scanner is great(Absolutely FANTASTIC) for heavy duty scanning. The scanner is also unbelievably fast. There is also a few software-level features, such as red-eye reduction, etc. This printer is great for photographers and enthusiasts. However, With pros, there is always cons. At the current "sale price" or the MSRP price, it is simply too costly for what it offers. There are many other alternatives of this product, which is cheaper and better priced. As a photography enthusiast myself, I won't be buying this myself at the current price point. Of course, new products always cost more. You are effectively paying premiums for features that is not found on other scanners. I personally just use adobe photoshop if I want to clean up any pictures that might have some defects. But I can definitely see myself using this printer if I were to scan massive amount of photos with some minor touchups.

Great scanner. Easy to install and use. Rather very pricy though. I got this while visiting my sister so I could scan some documents that I needed as well as copy some pictures. An all-in-one printer is cheaper. I didn’t need another new printer. This scanner I have to say is faster to scan things then trying to scan on an all-in-one printer.

Scans pictures very quickly. Hopper allows for many pictures to be scanned per batch. Easy to tag pictures. Unfortunately you have to sort pictures by size or else it will jam, but overall a very good scanner.

Works fine for home use as long as you don't need scans for giant reproductions - it's blazing fast compared to a flatbed, but like most flatbeds, isn't meant for really 'Professional' uses. If you don't need that and are scanning to archive and share photos with occasional prints, it's great. Drop in a stack of photos and start scanning. You will have to adjust the settings for pages that aren't perfect in exposure and contrast, but that's simple. The autoscan works well enough for most purposes.

While the price seems high to most, the peace of mind in getting boxes of photos scanned, and scanned well, is worth the extra cost. After using a lift lid scanner it is wonderful to stack 30 photos and walk away for a few minutes! The quality is wonderful too. Worth the investment!

Bought this to scan old photos of my parents I have hundreds of them. I still have to get around to doing the whole batch but I have used it. I had to put together a memorial video & I was so glad I had it. It’s easy to scan all photos unless they are thick cardboard type. Small or jagged photos you put in the protector & they scan no problem. Between the software it comes with & my iPhoto it was easy to crop and adjust the pictures. Definitely recommend if you have a lot of photos to scan. It’s expensive but will save you months.
