Bought this as I wanted to scan shoeboxes full of family photos. It was easy to setup and very compact. Thrilled to find this scanner and have my photos organized.

The scan is fast and the quality is very good. The quality is comparable to a flat-bed scanner with a higher dpi, but the ease of use makes it a better buy.

I have already scanned well over 4,000 pictures all of them processing as advertised, I am also satisfied with how it is able to fix old pictures.

The scanner is amazingly quick and makes scanning our family pix and slides so easy. Set up was effortless and worked the first time We love it.

Using this to covert storage bins of photos to digital. Fast and relatively easy to use. It does crash with Windows 10 at times (but have not lost anything, just had to reboot). An effective way of digitizing large amounts of photos

Pulled the trigger on this. Wasn't comfortable shipping away all of my old family photos to a person who I never met. I have boxes and boxes of pictures of different sizes from my father's house. Just group the pictures of similar size and subject together, place them in the hopper, and press the little blue button. The scanning is ridiculously fast and accurate. Depending on the setting, you can get a straight scan or a straight scan along with and enhanced/corrected scan. If you have a Mac, avoid the downloadable upgrade. For some reason it disables the scanning button on the unit and you have to use the drop down menus,

The Epson FastFoto 640 is expensive, but for me it's worth it. Like many people in their 70s, I have amassed and inherited too many photo albums that take up a lot of space. It's a fun process to relive the past as I scan and organize the pictures. The FastFoto 640 is making quick work of the process and it color corrects those faded pictures. You do need to clean it after each album, but that's easy. So far I have scanned over 3,500 double sided pictures. Lots more to do.

Works great for my situation. 15,000+ photos to scan with info written on the back of almost all of them. Many of my photos are color photos from the 70s that need color correction. The software autocorrects the colors as it scans. I end up with 3 images from a single pass - unaltered scan, color corrected scan and back of photo scan if there is something on the back. I wipe it clean about every 100 photos. It opens easily and only takes a few seconds to avoid streaks in your scans.

Scanning old photos couldn't be easier or faster. Creates high quality digital images even from aging prints.

Scanner was easy to setup and is as fast as advertised. So much easier than the flatbed scanner I was using.

This copies pictures very fast and allows you to add info regarding each picture.

The speed is amazing. With very little effort you are up and running. Only con is the high price!

I haven't used all the features yet and the document processing software (just the photo processing software, which is nice), but for scanning batches of photos, this is a wonderful model and suits my needs perfectly. It is so fast and keeps the scan straight. Very happy with the purchase. I have the Epson V550, also, and love that model, too. I am pleased with these Epson products and they seem to be made very well.

I have owned many scanners, but this one tops them all. It is unbelievably fast and the scans are perfect. I love the option to scan up to 1200 dpi. Great for treasured photos.

This scanner is a workhorse and does what it's supposed to. Was hesitant on paying $600 for a scanner but you get what you pay for. Small footprint was a major plus also.

Scans photos so fast. So good to see the to do box getting smaller. Quality is good.

So, we bought this to do our scanning. I was doing a lot of research and trying to see what would be more reasonable -sending them out or scanning them myself. I am so HAPPY with my purchase. This thing is so easy a monkey could do it! Quality of photo is great! I'm not a photo crazy person - I just wanted my baby pics and my family pics from 70s 80s and 90s on the computer. They were taking up so much room! You will be very happy. This also does paper. I love the fact that it does 2 sided too! It picks up old handwriting on backs of pics! Very good! Very fun! Did exactly what I wanted it to! Very quick!
