I paid an online service $200 to scan in 1000 photos. After seeing this, I bought the machine and have scanned in over 7000 photos, saving me a lot of money. However, the scanner has some limitations, but still a great investment that can save you money if you're planning a large number of scans. And, it is very quick too.

I found the Epson 640 an excellent product. High speed copies of the photos with high quality colors. I had excellent service from Best Buy Geek Squad and have told several friends that are now purchasing this machine. If you have lots of pictures this is the machine to scan them at high speed. "30 photo 30 seconds"

Easy to use, coverts photos quickly. It is relatively fast and does a good job when scanning photos of all sizes.

I purchased this from Best Buy when Epson first announced it because I wanted to scan a variety of family photos from years past. The on line reviews from Best Buy as well as Amazon have been great to excellent for this product. The only negative for me was that when I read the information on Epson's web site it stated not to use the scanner to scan instant polaroid prints for they were too thick and a significant number of my photos are in this format. Therefore, I returned the Scanner without opening.

For years I have wanted to digitize my vast collection of images from my film days of photography, but I couldn't see myself scanning one image at a time for months. This scanner was an answer to a prayer. It is fast and gives a high resolution copy in less than minute for 30+ images at a time. A great time saver!!

Easy to get photos into computer. Scans at about 1per second. Also can do document . Only downside is the lack of documentation with the unit . You need to download not only a manual but you a So need to download the software needed. For the price, I’d think the CD with software would be included.

This scanner makes picture scanning a breeze! The hardest part (by far) is figuring out how to organize the scanned photos in order to make them accessible to the rest of the family. We have just started and have a lot to learn about the process but scanning the photos with this device makes it soooo much easier!

Yes it was expensive but boy it is fast and produces excellent scans. My previous scanner was a flatbed and this is way better than that. It does reams of photo's in no time, scans documents perfectly and it's a great feature to be able to scan both sides of a document with one pass.

Easy to use for bulk scanning. Not as high-quality as a flatbed Epso photo scanner but tremendously faster.

Ok, this thing is stupidly expensive, but I can't take away from the quality of what it does. It's a great scanner and has allowed me to have digital copies of things I NEVER would have gotten around to. If you can get over the price, you won't be disappointed.

Was amazed at the speed of scanning. Also nice that you can scan two sides at same time, which allows for creation of digital image of information from back of photos. Speed was also great for scanning old documents to clean out the closet of old boxes of papers and receipts.

It’s fast even at high resolution and works as advertised. It’s definitely overpriced though.

I purchased a flat photo scanner prior and replaced it with this much faster version. Easy set up and scans VERY fast. I only wish I had it prior to scanning 3,000 photos with my previous one as it took over 25 hours vs. this one only taking approx 3 hours.

Easy to use. Excellent for use with old photos you are wanting to save. I have made digital copies of over one thousand family photos with no problems. Color enhancements on old faded photos so easy and looks good.

Wow, this unit completely exceeded my expectations. The scans are high quality and the speed, while scanning both sides of the photo, is unbelievable. I'm making quick work of thousands of family photos and sharing them with other family members. I couldn't be happier.

The FF 460 scanner is fast but in doing paper it hangs up on staple holes, causing jams.

Thus far, I'm glad I purchased this pricey scanner because we're scanning thousands of photos and saving many hours of work. It recommends you stop and clean it every 300-400 pictures but it works as described. Great for scanning documents to PDF too!

This scanner is easy to setup and use. I like how fast it scans a set of different size photos .

This scanner is definitely worth it! I had over a thousand photo to scan and it was completed in a few hours and not days or weeks. My only gripe is that some photos had a faint line on some of the pictures and that may have been because of a dirty scanner.

I researched a lot of photo scanners and finally settled on this Epson. I have thousands of family photos that I wanted to scan and this handles the job. You can place a stack of photos and it feeds/scans them quickly. Highly recommend.
