Speed and quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently, I decided to make the big commitment to scan all of our family photos. After much research on scanners I bought the Epson FF-680W. Could it really scan as fast as they said? Yes, it can. Would it be worth the cost? Yes, it is. The size is very compact. Not noisy. Easy to connect to computer. Easy to load. I’m not very computer savvy either Oh, I got the photos scanned.

Speed and easy to use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have thousands of prints that need digitized. I had flatbed picture scanner before and it was slow, it would require months of time to scan them all. Fast forward to about a decade to now. This scanner is fast, putting a stack of pictures for scanning it only takes a couple minutes. The scanned quality is really good as well. It also able to upscale the solution with its software, but I found it done minimal to the quality. I upscale and denoising using third party denoising software and the quality got much better. The price is steep but you are paying for speed and quality.

Good move
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought about this one for a long time back and forth while reading different reviews for quality and ease of use. Well as far as quality goes, I believe it is second to None but since this is my first one, I guess that is a little hasty. Ease of use, well that is another story, using it to scan a batch of pictures of about 35 each time. Great, smooth and it gives you 2 copies of each photo to compare which is the better picture. I would like a feature to put “Enhanced” pictures in a separate folder and then when you wish to pick the best picture then put them side by side. It has A LOT of functions but also has videos to walk you through the steps. I thought long and hard on this device because of the high price compared to the others, however with maybe 2,000 photos from my fathers after he passed away, I will save time. The time to complete this task, being able to have face recognition and training videos to walk you through the memories I believe was well worth the $$$.

User error
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven’t used it yet in that I believe my download of the software was bad. I was able to scan some documents but only as a picture. Super fast and the image was perfect. Problem was I could not download the images to my computer. I need to reinstall the software but have been busy with my taxes. I also meet to replace my very old iMac.

This scanner is a beast!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This scanner is a beast! I was able to scan 2,000 family in the matter of a couple of hours. The software it comes with automatically fixes red eye and gives you a scan that is unaltered and also gives you an inhanced scan of the photo. A bit pricey but just pricing services that do photo digitalization tends to get expensive very quickly and there’s a risk of losing your irreplaceable photos in transit to the digital company.

A great scanner if you have a lot of photos!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent scanner, I was able to scan over 4,000 photos in just a few hours at 1200 DPI and the photos look fantastic. The front to back scanning is super helpful and the software is easy to use. I should note that this can not scan polaroid photos.

Great high speed scanner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast, easy. Perfect for high volume scanning done fast. Comes with good supporting software. Note, if you want a special picture scanned at higher quality, a single high-res scanner would have better color and nuances, like an Epson Perfection V39. It's slow, but great for special images.

Very good scanner
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a photo scanner to get all my old family photos scanned! This did a very good job. Although the fastest option is 300dpi, I scanned them in 1200dpi. It is still fast enough to go through a lot of pictures. The enhance option to optimize the old photos is also very neat. There is some caveat with the wireless connection but reinstalling the driver will solve the problem. Don’t use the combo option from the Epson site, install the softwares separately.

Super scanner
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This scanner is fast and efficient. The compact design takes up minimal space. Set up and use is easy and quick. The software for scanning pics is awesome—it allows enhancing pics, especially older pics, very easy and makes them look fantastic! We haven’t used it yet for documents, but plan to so we can avoid having paper files for bills and other docs. I would totally recommend this item.

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An excellent scanner. 4 stars for photos and 5 stars for docs. Perfect high volume photo scanner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This scanner was worth every penny. I have boxes of old family photos that span 8 decades that I have been scanning. Its extremely fast and will easily scan 40 photos in under a minute, that includes the software processing the scans and loading to the computer. There is an option for it to recognize writing on the back of photos and to capture that as well. Almost zero jams. It takes tons of different sizes. It has a special mode for thick polaroids that works very well. It scans at 300 dpi super fast, and 600 dpi very fast. I haven't used 1200 much but I assume that would be slow. The 300 dpi is perfect for uploading and viewing on a computer and sharing. The software that comes with it is perfect for my needs. Maybe a tad simple for some. But it lets you do basic stuff like rotate and crop. Today is 4/17 I purchased it on 3/25 and according to the scanners counter I have scanned over 2,100 photos. This was a absolutely perfect scanner for this task. As far as documents go, it does great as well. I'm currently weaning myself off of my Neat photo scanner that I have been using for over 7 years. I really like the Neats document organization software. Unfortunately, this scanner only scans to folders on the computer. I did figure out that I can have it use the Neat software and I have been but I lose some functionality that is painful (Ie it won't scan both sides of a document if you scan through the Neat Library software. Anyways, one step at a time. Highly recommend this scanner.

Completely delighted.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! Delighted with this scanner. Fast!!! Photos are enhanced in the process, if you chose that option, which is remarkable. I've already scanned thousands of photos without any difficulty and the operation is extremely simple and user friendly.

Wonderful Scanner!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tons of old prints, 4" x 6" and larger. I started scanning them with my Epson V600 to keep in digital files, but it is just taking too long with the numbers of old photos I have. After reading reviews I decided to try this scanner out. This scanner works great. It is fast, easy to use, and the scans are simply great. This thing is also fast! I am so happy I purchased this scanner. I have had it and have been using it for over 3 months now without a single skip or problem. I love this thing. If you have a lot of old photos that you want to digitize, grab one of these ... you will Not be sorry!

Really good scanner for photos
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have scanned over 2500 photos of all types and sizes, and am really impressed with how the Epson scanner handled them all. I scanned at 600 dpi, and saved the images to a flash drive stick using my MacBook Air. The scanning is less than a second a photo, but with processing and writing time, the total time is about 5 seconds per photo. I loaded about 25 photos at a time, and they all fed smoothly with a few exceptions. I believe scanning to a flash drive is faster than scanning to a hard drive, but I haven't thoroughly tested that. The scanner does not seem to handle thick photos very well, although there is an "instant photo" setting to handle Polaroids (tip - turn off auto-orienting for Polaroids). Very small photos may not feed properly, either. Some people have trouble with curled photos, but they fed fine for me (I did need to hand-manipulate the load stack slightly to make sure they all fed properly). The scan quality is fine, although I haven't printed from any of them yet. The included software (I'm using the Mac version) is limited, but seems to be fine (I am NOT using it for image correction, other than orienting). The scanner automatically scans photo backs that have writing on them which is VERY handy (although it does create 2 images for one photo). Overall, I'm very happy with this scanner and would recommend it to anyone that has a lot of snapshots that they want to scan and archive.

I would give this 6 stars if I could.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly the best scanner I've ever used. I purchased this to scan photographs from my parent's albums. I have scanned thousands of photos with this and it has saved me so much time in comparison to the little bar style scanner by brother I was using before. You can easily load stacks of photos and it blows through them in seconds. The enhancements/corrections that it does for you are absolutely fantastic. The other major feature I love about this is the included polaroid mode. I have a ton of polaroid photos from my new cameras as well as from the 90s, and this has been the only feeder-style scanner to be able to handle the polaroids without getting all streaky/distorted. The pricepoint is high but is totally worth it if you are scanning every day. If you are digitizing family memories and have countless photo albums like I did, this is my go-to recommendation. No complaints, very easy to set up and incredibly intuitive to use. It folds up pretty well for storage when not in use, although its small enough that I just leave mine on top of my printer on my desk.

Epson photo scanner top notch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have lots of old photos. Some were bent & some had tacky bits on the back from being in those old sticky page albums. All scanned fine. The 300dpi is plenty of resolution for lots of the old photos & is a super fast scan. When I use the 600dpi on some of the newer photos, it gives me time to pull a few out of another album, but still the scanner is always waiting on me to feed it. The settings are easy to use. Also you can easily label batches of photos with say year & month & event. Labelling each individual photo with the people in it would take a lot of time, just like any other digitizing method. However if the photos are labeled on the back, a simple setting change will scan both sides to store your original labeling. It is a little pricey, nut well worth it if you have a lot of photos. Definitely recommend this unit.
