Overall this is a great unit. The contrast of the scanned images is a bit higher than I had anticipated but the resolution is good and the speed is...well, amazing. For the project I am working on the speed is more valuable than absolute quality since I'm scanning photos that span nearly a century and over 5000 of them. I would definitely recommend this for any family archiver but would hesitate to recommend it for someone at the artistic level. Worthy of 5 stars all told.

There are a lot of stories on social media that promote using your phone for digitizing photos and they do work, but if you are organizing a ton of old photos, you will be there for ever. This scanner is pretty fast compared. It work fairly well with most photos, although if you have some with old tape on them it sometimes has a hard time, but that is rare. I would defiantly recommend it if you have a lot of photos to scan.

This little scanner has been a blessing to scan in thousands of family history documents and photos. Being able to scan the back and front is perfect. It folds to a very compact space saver scanner. It scans very fast and you can go through a hundred photos quickly. It will not scan above 8x10 so small documents and photos work perfect. That's fine since I have a large bed scanner. The quality of construction is great and expected for the price range. I did get a quick adjustment when it went on sale after my purchase. I love Epson products and have many on my home so this is a perfect addition that has already done so much and done it quickly.

It took me a while to get started on my scanning project, but now I wish I had started earlier because this scanner is so easy and fast. I have been scanning hundreds of photos from my photo albums. The feature that is most appreciated is that it gives an image of the photo as is, plus an enhanced image, plus an image of the back of the photo only if there are any notes written such as names, places etc. All 3 images in about 2 seconds. If you have decades of photos, I would highly recommend this scanner.

So far I have been very impressed with the FastFoto FF-680W photo scanner. It is very fast and is easy to operate once you do it a few times. I have thousands of photos to catalog and I couldn't imagine doing it with a flatbed scanner.

Great scanner for digitizing family photo archives

After some research, I purchased this scanner to tackle a large project to digitize several generations of family photos. In a matter of a few days I've scanned the first 3000, and am very pleased with the scanner's performance. After pulling photos out of old albums I can scan stacks of up to about 50 photos at a time in a wide variety of sizes, both color and black and white. I am using the option to automatically color correct photos, and it is working great even on old, yellowed, and faded color photos. Many of the resulting scans in both color and B&W look much better than the originals I was scanning. When there are notes written on the backs of photos, the option to scan the backs also is working well, though I've had to set it down to the most sensitive setting to make sure it picks up some fainter handwriting. It's been able to take most photo papers and even old newspaper clippings without jamming or issues, and the only things that have been challenging have been some thicker photo postcards which are very stiff. I will need to use a flat scanner for some of the old large format prints and a separate slide scanner for slides, but this machine is doing the heavy lifting on the printed photos. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.

This sheet-feed photo scanner is great! I've scanned a couple of thousand photos so far, mostly in stacks of up to 36 photos, and it hasn't jammed once. The software is good, but due for an upgrade - I mostly just used it to control the process, assign file names, etc., and then did any additional editing in another program. Overall, great package for digitizing all those boxes of old prints.

Great scanner. I needed something to speed the process of scanning years of snapshots from the film days. My bed scanner made good images but took several minutes per picture. This makes quick work of the process. This comes highly recommended on the web reviews I saw and it lives up to the hype. I am able to scan through a box of 4x6 prints in an hour or so. It takes a lot long to figure out when pictures were taken than it does to scan them.

Epson comes through again!! This scanner is super fast, with a small footprint and produces great results. Easy to set up wirelessly. I have scanned about 1000 pictures (only 10,000 to go lol) with no issues whatsoever. Was a little sketchy about spending this much money but in the end, will save a lot money over having a commercial company scan all of my old photos. Highly recommend!!

In my line of work, paperwork or printed materials are a necessity. With the EPSON FF-680W Wireless High-Speed Photo Scanner not only do I reduce this to digital media, but also, I am able to save or download to other media on site or off site or the cloud in the blink of an eye. It saves me a lot of time. Now I can enjoy more coffee breaks! A little pricey, but it's worth the mula!

Fast scanner than can scan a wide variety of materials. I've done photos, postcards, periodicals, and drug prescription receipts. The ability to scan both sides in a single pass is a blessing, although when scanning a periodical with pictures I do one pass scanning both sides with Scansmart, then scan the pages with pictures with FastPhoto and copy/paste the photos in using Acrobat.

This scanner was easy to set up and use. It scans photos very quickly with good automatic touch up. It also scans documents quickly and clearly. Wish i had just spent the extra money and got this instead of buying a different scanner to scan old photos. That one was much more cumbersome to use. With COVID and some extra time i decided to tackle my old photos and ponied up for this scanner that was designed to do the deed right.

Product works great. The only challenge was getting the wifi connection working. In my house we have multiple SSID and there is no good way to switch between these networks so we are using the USB connection now. Scanning is fast even at 600dpi which is what we use. We also set it to do all the enhancements. To start we were getting both the standard and enhanced photos. But the enhanced one was always better so we stop collecting the standard version.
