Was skeptical about using a projector (have seen them in the past and they were not good). This one however is excellent. The picture quality is very good, it is bright and clear even on bright sunny days. Obviously the picture is not as good in the sunlight as it is in a darkened room but for the money this unit is great. 1/10th the cost of an led TV of the same size (im going 98 inches). I would buy this item again. I've only had it about 2 months so cant say how long the bulb will last but for the cost, replacement bulbs will be worth it. Also WOW looks amazing on a 98 inch screen.

The picture is outstanding. It is much better, brighter and sharper than we thought it would be. Have not tried 3D yet, but am certain it will be flawless as well.

Set up is very quick. I used with a 120" framed wall mount screen in my theater room and the picture is incredible. I've used it with directv, PS4 and 3D viewing for movies Apple TV and all of the applications are way above my expectations. Everything is ran through my Denon receiver which means just one HDMI wire to the projector for a very clean mount. Epsons website also helps configure the distances needed on all of their projectors and you can input your own measurements from screen size to seating distance to give you a very accurate viewing angle and make setup a breeze. Impressive!!

Overall this project has worked well for us. There are some challenges that were outlined in the reviews before I bought the product, but I knew that going in. Primarily the big one is the noise. If you listen for it, it is a bit noisy, especially since it is right behind our seating position on the ceiling. We have it set up in a media room, not completely dark and it works well, great picture. The room has a screen and mounting location already established, but I don't know the equipment it was set up for. I mounted this unit and using the keystone adjustments I was able to get it lined up very well. It was not worth it for me to buy a really high end projector requiring a completely dark room. Great picture for everyday TV at a great price.

Got this projector in a deal ($100 off regular price). Pros: 1) Though its 2200 lumens, the picture is bright enough even when there is light in the room. 2) Android phones with screen mirroring feature works great but, expect lag while mirroring the screen. 3) 3.5 mm jack, you can directly hookup your soundbar. Cons: 1) My main concern with this product is its fan sound and heat when running in normal mode. Since i haven't hooked up to the ceiling its bit difficult to sit close to it. Under ECO mode no issues with fan sound or heat but, the picture quality is not great. 2) I guess, for iphone the only way you can cast directly is through the epson app and its limited in functionality.

I bought this as a replacement to an older 1080P projector that is run in a basement setting. The old one (an InFocus) had great blacks, but after several years of use was starting to get glitchy with the HDMI signal. This Epson is much brighter, it can be used for sports with the lights on. For movies we still shut down the lights. The picture is very good, and the color out of the box was good enough that I did not feel the need to fiddle with it.

In this 2017 thanks giving Best Buy had stunning deals for epson 2045 and 2150... I bought both the projector and had that compared in same room projecting it directly to wall and to screen.. 1) 2045 and 2150 both have less fan noise when in Cinema mode. If you are using home theatre you would not hear it 2) Picture quality in both are awesome NOTE: if you are projecting to the screen you get more clarity and with ambient light both projector gives very good picture quality 3) There is a lot of difference in picture quality casting a video directly or playing movie using a blu ray player compared to connecting it using hdmi and seeing a movie output from laptop or other device so do not judge either of these projector by connecting using hdmi from laptop 4) The vertical lens shift is a definite plus for 2150 which is missing in 2045 5) Not seeing much difference with throw ratio watching it 100 inch from 10 feet distance 6) You can feel the heat after an hour from 2045 however probably because of the slight bigger size I believe 2150 is keeping the temperature normal 7) I recently moved and do not have tv. Not interested to buy because both projectors are good and I can keep one for basement and one for living room. Have not tried 3d however screen mirroring from smart phone is good for seeing photos and woukd bit recommend even for watching a best quality video from YouTube. I prefer 2150 however recommend this 2045 projector if you want to save hundred or couple hundreds based on the deals from best buy

I was the man on fight night Canelo vs GGG. It looked like a movie theater but outdoors. The clarity and colors really popped with this projector. I went 120” without sacrificing anything. Easy to use especially adjusting the throw and focus. After the fight I hooked up my Android Tv Box and watched a couple of movies and found that when really quiet the sound is not bad but not great. During the fight you had to sit close to projector for audio. I had a sound bar and subwoofer hooked up all at max volume and still sounded low when among people talking and drinking.

This is an awesome projector for the money. I had been looking at this projector for a long time for several reasons. At the time it came with a 200 dollar best buy gift card. It has one of the cheapest replacement lamps of any projector in its class, around 80 dollars. Most projector lamps are hundreds of dollars. It has 2200 lumens which is very bright for the price point even with quite a bit of ambient light in a room or outside. The picture quality is fantastic full HD, 3D, and it has several modes for saving lamp life or getting as bright a picture as possible. 3D glasses are not included, but uses any RF standard shutter glasses. It has a good refresh rate and can even interpolate frames for gaming or sports. It features widi / miracast for mirroring your phone or computer (if supported). I connect it to a chromecast dongle to stream Netflix, HBO Go, and other supported apps. (dongle required for chromecast support, widi / miracast can't stream chromecast media directly).

After a lot of research on this Epson - Home Cinema 2045 LCD Projector I pulled the trigger on it and I didn't go wrong. Had just enough room to get me a 120 in. screen and I am loving it. Mirrors all of my movie collections from my computer. Hooked up to Kodi player for HD live TV. Watch 3D movies from a flash drive from PS3 and WOW! is it a great experience. Even looks great in daylight. Wow! just Wow!

It can be a little noisy. Also has an annoying blinking light that I haven't figured out how to disable yet. 3d feature apparently has to be enabled manually each time? Contrast and overall quality of picture are very good for this price range. Pairing with active 3d glasses worked well and was simple. Overall, satisfied with this projector. I have it hooked up to 3d bluray player, 7.1 surround sound, xbox one, ceiling mounted in a blackout dark theater room.

Great picture, does lag a bit and produces a tiny bit of ghosting but only with fast moving images like say a baseball being thrown across the field. It's got the smooth image control which helps but still noticeable at times. Not to distracting though. Pic quality is great. Bright image, clean image. Bluray discs look best. Cable not to bad, digital download type flicks look decent. For the price, you get what you pay for and then some with this unit. Great entry level that gives you some of the perks of higher end units.

I bought this to put in my home theater. I've used Epson projectors before and been pleased. I was a little turned off that this was one of the only in-store projectors in my area and that this was a little above my target price of $600. I have been very pleasantly surprised by this though. It has a great picture, great color, and good brightness, and easily fits into our home theater setup.

Excellent project at the price. I had to return this one though due to short throw distance. I wanted a 120" diagonal picture from 20 feet distance, and this one won't do it. Ultimately ended up buying Epson 5030UB, though more than twice as expensive, it is far superior quality and has a large throw ratio. Highly recommend using http://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm to check and compare before buying.

I have been looking at lot of options for my home projector and I am glad that I shortlisted this projector. Picture quality is really good. 3D is really good. it gives the feeling as if we are watching a big screen TV Comes with builtin wifi and is easy to configure. I could see a big difference in picture quality over my old 12000:1 projector.

I replaced an older Epson projector with this one. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the product. However, because it was replacing an existing unit, there were some frustrating issues. First, the menus are not very intuitive. The ceiling mount option is not easy to find and I run the sound through a receiver. I found it after 30 frustrating mins but occasionally it reverts the sound back through the machine. Second issue is the lack of screen size control. When mounting in the old location, I found the screen much larger than the old one and it was outsized on my pulldown screen. I tried to mount it as far forward as it would go to no avail. In the end, I bought a larger screen (plus for me :). For the negatives - which really spawned from an existing setup - the picture is superb. I would recommend this unit as the performance is well worth the price.

This is my first projector. I did lot of research with the Epson projectors and selected this projector. This has got most of the features and at the right price point from best buy. I did a side by side comparison with the big guy Epson 5030UB projector borrowed from my friend. Except for the black levels advantage on the 5030UB projector the epson 2045 matched closely to 5030UB. I have decided to go with Epson 2045 as it satisfied my needs. I'm using this projector in my basement projected on a 150" Elite screen. I loved the output of this projector, we enjoy watching 3D movies. My son does gaming using his xbox and there was no lag. I wish it had the lens shift. But if you have the right space you can adjust it without the need for lens shift. Overall I'm very happy with my decision.

This projector is great! I was looking at this Epson, Optoma HD26 and Benq 1075. I bought Epson 2045 and don't regret. It has excellent picture quality, it's not as loud as I thought it would be and has tons of features and settings that make it widely customizable! Strongly recommend.
