The rave reviews for this projector are no fluke. It is fairly remarkable, especially for the price. and I’m not usually one to gush. Check out my attached photo. That’s projecting onto my beige wall…that’s not a screen. And it’s crystal clear…sharp and gorgeous. The Epson 2100 is also plenty bright enough for nearly every lighting situation. Although it’s obviously much more immersive at night, you can certainly enjoy it during the day despite a decent amount of ambient light.
This projector is also remarkably versatile. The optical zoom allows you to place it only about 11 feet away to get a 110” image. The zoom is a joy, to be honest. You’ll likely just “set it and forget it” but you can place this thing nearly anywhere. Again, I don’t even have a screen and the picture is still absolutely outstanding. Blu-Rays look stupendous. High quality streaming content looks excellent. The projector is very forgiving but obviously, the better source you feed it, the better it will look.
I haven’t used the onboard speakers, so can’t speak to them…I’m connecting up to a soundbar, which I’m pleased with so far.
If you’re lucky enough to find this in stock, you should pounce on it. I don’t think BB will be carrying this model much longer, as it’s already listed as “discontinued” on the Epson website.

PICTURE AND USAGE: This projector delivers exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for something to replace the LED flat screen in the living room and this fit the bill perfectly. The 3LCD technology produces beautiful color and I found that the 2500 lumens output at a screen size of approximately 100” looks great in rooms that have quite a bit of natural light – making this the perfect mid-budget everyday-use projector. The zoom capability (1-1.6x) allowed me to place it behind and above the couch and get the image to fit my wall exactly. The vertical lens – keystone allowed me to get a straight image even with the projector setup at an angle. This helps provide the user with a ton of flexibility and room for error during the setup process. Overall, I’ve fallen in love with 3LCD projectors – the picture has been crisp and fantastic even in brighter conditions and knowing that it won’t suffer from the rainbow effect later in its life is the cherry on top.
HARDWARE: The design is standard but easy to use – lots of buttons for navigating menus and tweaking the image. The remote works great as well. It has a sliding cover for the lens so you can protect it when in transport and quickly shield the screen when not in immediate use. I used the projector in the standard modes – they have brighter cinema modes, but those dial up the fan noise to a crazy level which is distracting in movies that have many quiet scenes.
AUDIO: While the 10W speaker sounds great enough for when you must use it as a standalone – I would still recommend using it with a dedicate stereo system. It is great when you have to use it in an office or conference room setting and don’t have access to dedicate audio though.
BONUS: I think one of the biggest deals around this projector is the replacement lamp cost of around $50 – which is very reasonable.
CONCLUSION: This projector quickly filled the place of my TV and those looking to build a budget theater room or are in need of a TV replacement will be happy with the quality and price of this projector!

Theater Experience!

My Epson Cinema 2100 shipment came equipped with the projector, power cord, remote, 2 AA batteries and instructions manuals. The projector was properly packed to avoid damage.
Setting up was very easy and the quick setup guide comes in handy for reference. I do have to remind anyone buying this to pick up a HDMI cord, I think 6ft or longer will be better. This Epson 2100 projector has a built-in speaker but since this is capable of bringing you a theater experience to your home I recommend pairing this with surround sound speakers.
Picture:
This is HD 1080p with 3D option and all I can say is the picture output is just mind blowing. It don’t matter how big I adjust the size I continue to get great 1080p at HD quality. I do not have a projector screen but I plan on getting one that can retract from the ceiling. My new Epson 2100 is a must if you want a true at home theater experience. This is listed that it can adjust up to 4x larger than 60inch tv. Adjusting the picture, volume, and screen are all on the projector or you can simply use the remote. On the bottom on the projector you also have and adjustable leg/stand to find the right position for a better view.
Pros:
-The picture is absolutely amazing
-Easy to adjust
-Mulitiple HDMI
-View content from your phone, computer, games or anything with a HDMI
-Feels premium and will probably last a while
Cons:
-Adjustments are manual
-No HDMI cord
-Fan noise
In conclusion in my opinion I think this is a great projector. Epson 2100 got the main thing right which is the picture quality. I can see people enjoying this for movies and playing games. I think this will also be great for presentations. I tested this using my UHD blue ray player watching Jumanji and playing COD on my PS4. I do not have a projector screen but I was very happy with the picture quality on my living room wall. To have a great experience I think a dark room makes a big difference. I highly recommend this Epson 2100 projector. I will be mounting this on my ceiling and I also want a retractable ceiling projector screen. I should have this for a while before replacing the lamp because it has 7500 hours in eco mode and 4500 hours in normal mode. If I use this 5 hours for 365 days that will be about 2000 hours used for the year. For me that’s plenty of movie time.

I was always curious about going the projector route for the main entertainment source... so I did my research and found this to meet my need for my backyard entertainment setup... At first I was surprised with the specs as I did buy a $60 projector for a test run. The Home Cinema 2100 BLEW that one out of the world! ... THE WORLD!
My current test setup in the backyard is 30' from the wall to where I'll mostly mount the projector. At this range the projector beautifully displayed at 1.0x zoom, 186"!!! I had a little fun and max'd the zoom and it goes up to 300"!!! Who wouldn't want a movie theater size screen in their backyard?! I love the auto focus/len shift feature which helps when I was adjusting the projector in it's possible mount location. Please note I haven't painted a proper projector screen on the wall yet and it still looks amazing even on a dark blue grey wall...
I can't wait to have the wall properly painted and framed for the final product! Thanks.

Have you ever said to yourself "I wish I could have a movie theater in my own home." Of course you have. Everyone who has ever loved a movie, has thought it at least once or 17 times. Well I've got just the thing for you. The Epson Home Cinema 2100 home theater projector is so awesome, you could cast a movie right on to your wall with minimal issue. I do suggest a projector screen, but you could go without it for a while, if needed. This sweet machine really does put out 1080p image and can also do 3-D, if you like it like that. And it has an aspect ratio of up to 300". ( Take that in for a moment.... Three hundred inches of movie.) Yup. That's hot. The on board is adequate enough, but you can also connect it to your home audio system for that full BOOM feeling and the full theater experience. It works best in a dark room, obviously, but it's watchable in a room with a little light coming in. If you're thinking of a home theater setup ( You are, because you're.... well, you're reading this.) Go with the dark room. It's incredibly simple to connect via an HDMI cord. Plug it in and go. I've got 100" screen and boy does that look amazing. A projector like this literally makes it mandatory that you always keep popcorn in the house. It's portable. You can take it outside for those Special sporting event viewing parties. That's where the 300" display comes into play. I love this thing. This is the 2nd Epson projector I've had the pleasure of owning, and they have yet to disappoint. The remote is easy to learn. Although, you'll only need to know where the power and volume buttons are.I haven't mounted this to my ceiling yet, but it is perfectly fine casting from my table top. Projectors have grown cheaper through the years and this one, while slightly pricey, compared to many you'll find online, is still cheaper and better than it's predecessors. And I promise that it's well worth the sticker price. There are so many projectors out there that tout 1080p /3LCD image quality and they turn out to be a waste of whatever money you thought you were saving. This is the real deal. Did I mention the 3-D viewing capability? I did, didn't I? One more time... It plays in 3-D
As a bonus, I even played my game console on this puppy. Lovely experience. All that's left to say is; Go online and get yourself a nice projector screen after you place your order for the Epson Home Cinema 2100. On you're way home, stop off and grab a crate of popcorn. I definitely recommend this to every movie lover, film buff, sports fanatic and anyone with the desire to see the BIG PICTURE.

Fantastic Picture, Fan a Little Distracting

Hooking up the Epson Home Cinema 2100 was something I only wanted to do once, as the projector I was replacing was suspended from the ceiling. I didn't want to be up and down a ladder tweaking the set up. Thankfully the Epson Home Cinema 2100 was nice and easy to get installed. It's fairly light, so not cumbersome to hold as you screw it into a pre-existing mount you might have.
I was replacing an Optoma HD27 projector I purchased when I first moved into my new house. That projector suffered from a rainbow effect when you moved your eyes quickly around the screen. This projector suffers from no such rainbow effect at all. It's a nice refreshing change!
I have a 100" screen so there is a lot of screen for your eyes to move around in! The first thing I noticed when turning on the Home Cinema 2100 was the clarity of the picture. It really is a great looking, crisp and vibrant looking image. Much more vibrant than my previous projector. However, the trade off for that vibrancy was the sound of the fan. It was loud. Once navigating through the settings, I was able to put the projector in eco mode, which cut the fan noise in half. (Thankfully). However the picture did dim slightly, so I had to go in and adjust the picture settings some more to make the final image look just how I wanted it to.
The screen size and screen focus adjuster are sliders on the top side of the projector. That made for a quick and easy adjustment to make the picture fill my screen area, and then adjust the focus to be nice and crisp. I had everything set up in about 20 mins.
In addition, I have my media center voice activated as well and it was simple enough to replace my original projector with this new Epson one and after a little coding, I had this Epson projector voice activated as well. (This is not a feature of the projector - I have a harmony hub set up for this functionality).
I'm very impressed with the overall picture quality compared to my previous projector. If you use the projector in a dedicated media room where you can turn up the sound, the fan won't be too much of a problem, but if you have to watch this projector with subdued sound, you will be disturbed by it in my opinion. That, fortunately, is my only concern with this projector. It's a nice looking unit with a great picture. Lots of adjustment capabilities to get the picture just how you want it.
I've included a picture of it mounted and then a picture of what the screen looks like, even with my media lights on. You can see it's a nice clear, vibrant picture with this projector.
Maybe there will be a software update to help address the fan issue, but there is no way I could watch a movie with the projector not in eco mode. I haven't given the projector a chance to see if the fan does calm down when left in normal mode, it was just too distracting to me. The picture is far superior to my previous projector, so that alone is worth keeping the projector set up in there!
I would definitely recommend the projector for it's picture quality alone. But please be aware, that the fan is a little noisy, when listening at low volumes. You may be able to tune it out, or drown it out with a nice movie soundtrack like I have done.

This is a lightweight projector that transports easily to take to friend's and families' houses for movie night. A family member who does not like connecting electronics easily set this up to connect to their laptop. I am wowed by the picture quality this projector produces. I've included a couple pictures of two movies we tried out (ignore the garage door we projected on to see just how large the picture would go) and we were very happy with image quality in even the largest projection image. It is amazing that this projector will give a quality picture from 29" to 300" in size. Perhaps we need to invest in one of those blow up screens to have movie night out by the pool this summer! The projector does come with a built in speaker, but for maximum effect I'd suggest external speakers.
My son also connected the projector to his desktop pc and was using it for video games. Needless to say he doesn't get to keep it even though he thought it was pretty sweet.
I think this projector hits all the main goals of being a quality product that produces a very nice picture for an affordable price.

My first projector- didn't want to pay over $1000 for 4K, so settled for 1080HD- great picture -ultra bright (with no projector screen - this looks great on my beige wall- 10' by 6' approx view size) - some fan noise but not noticeable with a good sound system hook up. PS4 and WiiU play great with no noticeable lag. Got a great deal at $500 at Best Buy. Recommended.

I did so much research and was about to drop over 2k on my first projector. After thinking it over, I did not want to spend that much on my first projector. This one was highly recommended and I am glad I jumped on it. Easy to set up out of the box and the picture looks great!!! I have had it for 2 days. The colors are true and vibrant but not overwhelming. The brightness is very good, but not too bright. It really simulates a movie theater experience type picture. The best part is it is under $800! Great projector for the money. You will not be disappointed.

Though it’s kept in a corner it has settings to display the image straight on the screen. Not big. Only drawback is it does not have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or inbuilt apps where you can stream from any device. But I use it with a fire stick and do all operation thru the fire stick. Clarity is too good and even on daylight we are able to watch the image clearly. Sound quality is ok. But having a woofer system connected to the fire stick will be better.

This whole system has been the best investment for a home theater. It’s not expensive but along with a good screen, it’s fantastic. Also having a good receiver to handle all of your audio/video systems is not required, but I will say I definitely recommend it. This way only a power cord and one HDMI cable runs to the projector. Makes it much easier for ceiling mounts and makes the install look much more clean. The picture is great on a 135” screen with no distortion of any kind.

Bought 1 earlier for the living room and 2nd one for my office/game room. These are my 1st projectors and so far the experience has been great. Easy to use and adjust. The picture quality is excellent ( worried about not being as good as a HD TV before buying it). The best thing is now we can enjoy movie/gaming on 80" plus screen.
The next thing is to figure out how to mount it on the ceiling and hiding the cables.

The Epson 2100 Home Cinema projector offers vibrant colors, a clear image, and great performance in a compact and affordable package. While there are a few downsides to it that you might not find in a more expensive unit, it makes up for it with impressive figures for bulb life and ease of use.
The first thing I noticed when unpacking the projector was the size. Admittedly it's been a while since I worked with a new projector for home theater use, but I was still pleasantly surprised to see that they've reached a point where you can get a unit of this quality that's barely any bigger than a portable data projector. This made the process of getting it mounted on the ceiling much easier than I'd anticipated. Once it was up, getting the image adjusted to fill the screen was the work of just a few minutes.
Out of the box, I have to say the thing looks gorgeous. There's plenty of customization settings that let you tune the image to exactly what you want, but even in the middle of the day in a living room filled with windows the colors were popping and the contrast between light and dark areas was crisp. Even when setting it to Eco mode (which I'd recommend given that it cuts down greatly on fan noise and helps extend the life of the bulb) it was still bright enough to watch during the day. I'm very curious to see how it handles 3D content (which requires the purchase of separate RF shutterglasses that were not included in the box) given its ability to produce such a bright image even in a well lit room.
There are a few downsides to be had here, but they're not particularly grievous. The biggest problem I noticed is that while the low weight makes it fairly easy to mount, the three screws it uses don't seem to be centered around the unit's center of gravity. As a result the projector kept wanting to pitch down when mounted overhead, which required several additional trips up the ladder to fine-tune it to get the image centered. There is a handy dial which allows you to shift the lens vertically a bit to deal with this, but I can't help but feel that a better solution might have been to improve the mounting solution to balance it better.
Another thing I noticed is that the tricks it uses to make the image look much brighter than it is in a well lit room do make the image look a worse in low lighting. Essentially, its pumps up the saturation on the colors to prevent the image from looking washed out. So long as you remember to switch it out of dynamic mode it's not too big of a problem, but seemed worth mentioning. The throw range is also just a little smaller than the unit it was replacing thanks to the more compact lens assembly, so I'd definitely make sure that you measure the room you're thinking of using this in to make sure you're placing the mount a suitable distance away from the screen.

After looking at a number of projectors on a number of different sites I found that Best Buy did actually have the best buy for this projector. My last projector was the Epson 2150 but when it broke it was too costly to repair. I found that the picture on the Epson 2100 was to me just as clear and detailed as my last projector. I would definitely recommend this projector to anyone looking to buy a projector and to check Best Buy first and save themselves the trouble of having to look all over.
