Decent 1080P Projector. CEC issues and no support

This is a decent 1080P Projector. Depending on placement, you could have some out of focus areas of the screen if its on a angle. Keep it straight and it will work out well. Blacks are decent for the price. One issue I have is that HDMI CEC is not technically supported. For this price point it should be. It does work, sort of. But is buggy and doesn't always turn on with the AMP.

The onboard sound is really bad. Just learning you cant connect most Bluetooth speakers because of the odd format it requires. Apparently cant use the hdmi port for arc either. The picture looks great in pitch dark room but not that good with any ambient light. Looking for a better projector.

Decent projector for those looking for a lower-cost option. Easy to use and fan is pretty quiet. Image quality is good and especially good in high light environments for a projector of this price.

This review is for the new for 2021 Epson Home Cinema 2250 projector. This unit is a 3LCD home theater long throw projector with Android TV. It can be set on a flat surface or mounted to the ceiling, which is the route I chose. Upon opening the box you are greeted by none other than the quick start guide! If you are familiar with the set up of a smart tv or other projectors this guide will be all you need. However, if you need further information, there is a complete online guide (epson.com/support) and search for the unit you purchased. The 2250 can be a stand alone unit or plugged directly in to a HDMI source. The Epson Home Cinema 2250 projector is not at all like the cheap Pico projectors. This projector is full featured with a great picture. It is not at all grainy or poorly focused, instead you get a real nice clean image with nice depth. The blacks are dark and the whites aren't washed out. I am currently using the 2250 on a medium dark gray painted wall. The picture is clean and clear on this surface. However, for the best image a good quality screen is preferred. I will be purchasing one soon, just to get every inch of performance I can from the 2250. With that being said, I don't have any issues with the brightness of the projector. I can leave all the lights on in the room and still see the picture perfectly. This projector will work in rooms with lots of natural light. If you have the ability to control the amount of light in your space, then you can get an even brighter picture. And as with most good quality projectors you can control the intensity of the picture in case you always watch in a well lit environment. My A/V receiver supports ARC but this unit doesn't seem to. So if you are watching something streaming from the 2250 then you will need to attach an audio out cable if you want the sound to play from another speaker source. Or you can bluetooth a seperate speaker. Speaking of sound, the 2250 does include speakers. They are ok for a projector. Loud enough for everyone in the room to hear. It's not surround sound, but will do the job if you don't have a surround sound setup in your living room or theater area. The 2250 got a much needed update on its smart tv bits. This new version puts the receiving dongle inside a small compartment on the rear of the device, out of the way. The older models had this exposed. The Android features are fairly standard for a device like this, if you have a smart phone you will probably be able to control the 2250 without looking at the instructions. If you are a techno novice then download the full manual. The manual will walk you through the steps needed to get the 2250 up and running smoothly. In conclusion, would I recommend the 2021 Epson Home Cinema 2250 projector my friends? Well, yes I would, the 2250 is a great bargain at this price point. The 2250 beats out any Pico projector in picture quality, noise and versatility. (You can move it around easily it's not heavy). And I think most people who are looking at this projector, want a good quality unit with good picture and already have a home theater sound system. So it's a great addition to any home theater as an upgrade from a Pico, or a first real deal projector.

This projector offers great picture quality and good brightness. I am fairly impressed with the contrast ratio, it looks better than I was expecting. The AndroidTV built-in is nice and snappy. I tested the Netflix, YouTube, YouTubeTV and Disney apps without any issues. If you plan to use the bluetooth I recommend pairing via the Android settings instead of using the Epson settings. I was able to pair in both menus but I had less instances of audio lag when paired in Android settings. Physical setup is a breaze thanks to the adjustable feet, focus lever, and the inclusion of keystone adjustment buttons on top of the unit.

Fantastic projector. Screen quality is stellar. Surprisingly woks well in indirect light. Only reason for the four star is the two reunite system that they have. You can manage with just one.
