Worked well at first. It provides decent quality for a simple home setup. Unfortunately, there appears to be a fault with one of the temperature sensors and it no longer turns on. Apparently, this is a relatively common problem with Epson projectors. If I were doing things over, I would go with a different brand.

We just got this projector and after such extensive research on which we would go with, we find out later the issue this andriod projector (and apparently all of them like this) has with picture vs sound delay based on what you are playing through it. We just purchased so this may be a return, we will see.

It’s really nice to have built in Android OS availability in a projector. Especially one that is just small enough that it could be used on the move. If all you are using it for is streaming with the apps that are available, then you are set with this unit! If not, you will need to bring another box to connect to it for content. Or plug in something else that is small enough to fit it the void where the Android unit resides and use that instead. It’s a great feature but it needs refinement as the offered software can hang and be slow. Despite not being 4K, this projector puts out a more than satisfactory picture at the recommended sizes and distances. Setting this up in my backyard and with a little light still out I can’t make out the difference between the two resolutions without paying a lot of attention to it. And fan noise in that environment was not an issue. One other thing I would mention is to please pay attention to the actual features of this projector. The listed input/outputs is not correctly listed. This should only show (1) USB (for servicing), (1) HDMI input and (1) 3.5mm stereo Audio Output as the main I/O.

The Epson - Home Cinema 2250 1080p 3LCD Projector with Android TV, is quite a versatile unit. Having it in our media/game room with low light conditions, the picture quality is great, albeit 1080p, but nonetheless, cinema purists can tell the difference. But for normal users, the picture quality at 1080p is quite nice and nothing to complain about. Initial setup, I thought was going great, skipped entering my google account, in hopes of speeding up the process. BUT that was a mistake, it had this “annoying” background/elevator music going on, while test watching videos! I then went back and entered my Google account and voila, the background music was gone. Once I corrected that omission, setup was quite easy. Ran update on the Epson - Home Cinema 2250 1080p 3LCD Projector with Android TV, and most streaming apps were preloaded, all you have to do is log in. Back to the reason for versatility, You don’t need low light conditions to appreciate it. You can stream full light and the picture quality would compare with about any standard TV’s, except maybe OLED’s. Having built in audio makes the Epson - Home Cinema 2250 1080p 3LCD really portable from room to room or outdoors. The built in audio is not home theater quality, but you can’t really expect it to be. Although the fan can be heard, it wasn’t unbearably loud. You can definitely rectify that by just turning up the volume a little. To get the best sound, you do have to hook it up to an external source. If using external speakers, internal audio will be disableed. Zoom, horizontal, vertical adjustments are pretty simple to figure out. Picture quality is only as clear as your vision can see. Seeing the picture in normal room light, I am tempted to use the Epson - Home Cinema 2250 1080p 3LCD, everyday TV. But I wouldn’t recommend it :) Save the bulb, even though it’s not overly pricey to replace. Has a lens cover when not in use, to reduce dust, has an air filter to reduce internal dust (that can vacuum clean), has a nice magnetic back cover. It comes with two remotes, but I only use the main one. Overall, I like the Epson - Home Cinema 2250 1080p 3LCD for the price and versatility. I can imagine backyard movie nights with the kids over a smokeless fire pit.

Lets do a quick scan of home theater backyard or otherwise projectors and you can see from the lineup at Best Buy or even other places I wont mention here, there are your real top of the line progressive fully functioning projectors for real 4k high def use and then there are your cheap knock offs that will certainly get the job done, however are not even in the same league as the top pros. Epson seems to own the home projector market and for a company that is known for mostly printers and scanners, they make a heck of a great projector. I have owned one other Epson and it was great, but nothing in comparison to this bad boy. This is the crem dela crem of devices, loaded with the latest and greatest technology, Android backed, high definition complete with various services on board plus it is so picture perfect clear, I was surprised I was looking at a projector. Its simple to set up and get going and has easy to follow directions, plus its perfect for backyard viewing or presentations or streaming your favorite show right on the white wall I highly recommend this unit.

This projector is the most sophisticated yet easy to use projector that I've had the pleasure of owning. set up is simple. connect to the internet and you're basically ready to go with the built in streaming apps. There's no need for cables to hook up to a dvd player or cable box for use. picture quality is fantastic! I have the highest speed internet so I don't have any lagging while streaming. the LCD mixed with 1080p delivers a clean sharp picture no matter what you're watching. setting up a dvd player or video game system is simple, just use an HDMI cable and you're on your way!

The Epson Home Cinema 2250 is the best of both worlds, combining the size flexibility of a projector with smart features commonly found only on traditional TVs. It is an excellent 1080p projector with Android TV built-in, allowing you to have a huge screen with all the smart features and applications that you would normally expect on modern TVs. The Android TV operating system is extremely responsive and fast and allows you to download all the apps available through Google's app store to your TV and quickly and easily browse the apps and programs that you want to watch. Most apps have a feature where you can easily select shows you have been watching straight from the home screen of the Android TV, which makes it so you don't have to go into the application to resume shows you have been watching or to watch recommended videos. With an Android phone, you are also able to make use of Google's Chromecast feature and share apps that support it straight to your projector. The built-in speakers aren't the best in the world but they're not that bad either, they are more than capable of cutting through the noise of the projector and are completely usable if you don't want or don't have an external speaker of some sort. The projector is capable of connecting to external speakers using Bluetooth or a 3.5mm audio output. I would have liked for it to have an HDMI output so you could connect to an external speaker using HDMI eARC allowing you to control an external speaker using the included remote. But with only an HDMI input you would either have to connect to an external speaker using Bluetooth or the 3.5mm jack. One feature that came in handy for me was the +-30 degree angle correction which allows you to put the projector slightly towards a corner and angled at your wall while still having a distortion-free image. This allowed me to put the projector out of the way and to still have a clear picture without affecting the aspect ratio or causing distortion of the image.

First, let me say this is not my first Epson projector. I really liked my first one, so when this one was released and it included Android TV, I jumped on it. The biggest feature for this projector is that I don’t need to hook up my laptop! It is a smart TV and projector in one. We project movies outside on a 120” screen and the picture looked really good! I had the projector hooked to my WiFi and set up in minutes. The picture is bright with good color. It comes with 2 remotes. One includes the buttons for focusing the screen as well as TV control and the second one has only TV controls, so use the one your prefer. Overall, I love this projector for the price. It has a good picture and even fairly good sound. No extra wires for hookups are needed. Just the power cord. Love it!

This projector is a definite improvement in two areas from my previous two Epson Projectors. First, the app support on the Android TV built into the unit out of the box is great and just about every multimedia app is available. This is a great improvement from the app support on a more portable projector from about a year ago, where not all major apps were available, and had to add a streaming stick to get everything we use. Second, on our older more permanent mounted projector, it did not have an easy way to output sound from the projector to external speakers. This one has a standard stereo 3.5mm jack AND you can also pair bluetooth speakers to it. Big improvement. This thing is bright, 2700 lumens on this along with the 70,000 to 1 contrast ratio does a good job even in lighted rooms. The bluetooth remote is basic, but does the job for both the Android TV streamer and the projector. The one thing about the remote that could be improved is the button to switch between android tv and the HDMI input could have been labelled "HDMI". Thats the most common request I get, is asking how to switch it from one to the other. The second remote, for the Android TV only seems to be an Infra Red controller. Its explained that this can be used if you take out the Android TV from the projector and use it elsewhere. I was kind of surprised that is an option, but good on Epson for letting us have the ability to swap out streaming sticks, and giving a dedicated remote for that use "just in case". The picture is very clear and bright and was able to be adjusted easily on my ceiling mount which is off angle a bit. So keystone adjustment worked well. This image looks very good for being 1080p non-hdr LCD tech. One of the best images I have had from any projector. The google setup for the android streamer took longer to move my google account info from the cloud to the device than I thought was reasonable, I thought it was frozen, but just waited a bit longer and came back and it was all done. The menu graphics for the projector looks very 1990's Epson, but then again, they have always looked very 8 bit graphics on every Epson video device I've ever owned. Some designer will take a step forward into the current century eventually. The storage space for apps on the Android TV is very adequate, for many video only apps. I really like this projector and every family member notices the improvement in the picture quality. I would recommend this to others who use multiple video streaming services and need a new projector.

I hadnt even thought of that has an option with previous projectors (Android TV) included. But what a great idea. Android TV is my favorite smart platform and its what I use on my TV as well. The app options are endless although I stick to my favorites mainly. Netflix, HBO, and Youtube. But there are many more to choose from. Getting everything set up was fairly easy. Its not very heavy which is nice. In the box you of course get the 2250 projector, power cord, remote, remote batteries, and a quick set up guide. The guide is easy to follow and after a few clicks and adjustments you are up and running with Android TV. Right away I entered my credentials for Netflix and was able to test things. The picture is 1080p and looks great. I have never thought I needed 4K, and this proved it for me. Some people swear by it. I do notice a slight difference between the two, but its never bothered me. So 1080p is plenty for me. And the picture quality on this is great. Its plenty bright at 2700 lumens and having a 70000:1 contrast ratio makes for a crisp clean picture that looks great. Of course there are plenty of settings to tweak to your hearts desire. I usually pick a something in the middle, not over saturated like Dynamic usually looks. And of course you can connect game consoles as well to game. The projector itself has a lamp life of 6000 hours (12000 in economy mode). So wont be worrying about a new lamp for a long time. And replacing the lamp is fairly easy and the manual gives you easy step by step with pictures so no need to worry about that when that day comes. I know a lot of people dont talk about manuals or guides much, but I thought this deserved a mention. The online manual is great. Even has a search bar. So for example I wanted to see how easy (or hard) it was to change the lamp so I searched it. And thats where I came upon the step by step. So you can look up anything you need to easily. This takes away some of the anxiety of using and maintaining a new product. Overall I love this new projector with Android TV. You get a great picture with the convenience of Android TV all in one. Highly recommended if youre in the market for a projector and want the convenience of built in Android TV as well. Best smart platform out there in my opinion.
