For home use I feel like this hit all check marks of a basic home cinema projector. 1080p is good enough, yes would I like better sure, but I have absolutely zero issue with clarity even when the screen size is well over 150” on the wall. They say up to 330” but I can’t test that big in my house. The speaker is loud and actually really decent. I was surprised with how decent it is, I mean you know it is coming from one direction and it is definitely lacking in true depth, but it isn’t tinny and it gets loud enough to satisfy everyone in the room. There is an Aux out that works perfectly with the remote for volume. You can also connect a Bluetooth speaker however the volume is controlled by the Bluetooth device not the remote control for the project. I love how it is everything in one package, I through it on a table in the loft and put Mario kart on the wall and that is by far the best way for kids to play Mario kart I feel like when the screen is just giant. I hooked up the Nintendo via the HDMI port. Those are the only two ports, an HDMI and Aux port. Partly the reason for this is that AndroidTV is built into the project which is absolutely amazing. The projector remote is an androidTV remote all in one which makes it a little easier since you aren’t trying to keep track of two different remotes when you plug in a fireTV or whatever to a regular projector. One nice thing about AndroidTV is that you can easily use it as a chromecast, so I have all of our apps setup on the projector itself (Hulu, fuboTV, Netflix, etc.) but I can also cast a video to it if I don’t have the remote handy. The brightness of the project is great indoors. You can easily see it with the lights on. Don’t try to use it outside until the evening as the sun washes out the picture. Overall, my favorite thing about this projector is that I can put it away and take it out with little effort. No going and finding a speaker and cord. I pull it out of the closet, plug it in and use the remote to throw on the hockey game on a giant screen across the entire wall of our loft. Also, watching the latest superhero movies on a 150” screen with the kids is almost like going to the theater, especially when I hook up the speaker bar and base via the aux.

I'm sure there is something somewhere inside the Home Cinema 2250 from Epson that allows them to charge what it is they are charging for it but using the thing doesn't shed any light on just what that might be as there are no real shortcomings. This feels and operates like a much more expensive projector, so I applaud Epson for keeping it in this price-point. Sure, it isn't 4k, but it supports 3D. Now, I know 3D hasn't been a "thing" for the past two or three years, but I still have plenty of 3D movies so being able to watch them on a projector (ie MASSIVE screen) is a welcome addition. Specs can be found in any number of other reviews or on the spec tab up above, so I'll merely state that the user interface and setup is extremely simple, and I had no issues at any point in time. Being Android-based means nothing else is needed to get up and running with your streaming services. No sticks, nothing to insert here or plug in there, just your power cord and away you go. I will say there is only a single HDMI port, black levels aren't great (this is where that cost savings starts to come in) and you don't have the best Bluetooth speaker integration as I did experience some lag in this regard. For me, though, that isn't what my long-term usage for the 2250 was going to be, so it isn't really a deal breaker or even an issue merely pointing it out for others to be aware of. If it were a little more seamless who knows, maybe I would utilize it, so take that for what it's worth. I just know that I tried it, noticed some lag, then put it in with my usual setup (via HDMI) and the audio was perfect. All in all, another great product from Epson and an easy recommendation.

The Epson 2250 is a wonder of a projector. It has great contrast, a bright, vibrant, image and can scale up to 300". I personally have pushed past 120" with no signal degradation. I'm an avid Android TV user, so having it built in without the need for  extra dongles or boxes is extremely convenient. The menu is just as fast and fluid as my Shield box with no sacrifice to performance of the OS. A physical feature to note, is its size. It's less bulky in my opinion which makes it much easier to mount or shift around if looking for portability. The speaker produces solid sound for a stand alone. Not quite robust enough to fill a room, but great for a viewing with the family sitting nearby. Should you need more sound, the 3.5mm jack will give a stereo out and Bluetooth can connect to any speaker setup you may have. One note about the Bluetooth. There is a connection directly to the projector and a connection through Android TV. I recommend you experiment with both to gauge the best connection to reduce lag. I haven't experienced a problem with either as of yet, but in other models, it has come up from time to time. Now, my favorite feature...it supports 3D! I know that's not in high demand, but being I built a library of titles from the 3D boom, it's great to have another outlet to play them. Especially being I can enlarge the image. Also to note, there is no HDR or Dolby Vision support. Also, no Atmos. If these aren't "must have" features, this is definitely a satisfactory projector to get your movies rolling.

You will want to hook the 2250 to external speakers in order to appreciate the show. I had to resort to connecting my bluetooth speaker with an auxiliary cable/3.5mm cable since 3 different bluetooth speakers did not want to connect to the 2250. The Android TV feature will make sure that any new apps/streaming services that come out in the future will be able to be downloaded directly to the projector which is a BIG deal. If you want to cast to the projector you can but if you are an iphone user you will not be able to use airplay on the apps that don't allow casting. The picture from the 2250 was clear, crisp, and the family enjoyed watching the world series on a 300" screen. There is no better way to watch sports than to actually be at the stadium. We had the grill going with everyone outside watching the game. After the game was over we connected a nintendo switch and let the kids play on the biggest screen they had ever seen. The 2250 provides a great way to have fun with friends and family outdoors, whether it is watching sports, youtube, movies, or playing video games.

This projector provides fantastic video resolution at 1080p. The images are crisp and clear, and the colors are very bright and accurate. It connects quickly to your Google account, and you are automatically signed in to all of your existing streaming accounts you have connected through Google. Basically, as soon as you connect it to your internet and sign in your Google account, you are ready to watch right out of the box. I have mine ceiling-mounted, projecting to a 100 inch screen from about 18 feet. Definitely check the throw ratio to make sure this will fit your setup before purchasing. I know there are 4k and Ultra HD projectors available, but I think this projector is by far your best value because of the amazing images you get at a good price.

As an owner of the Epson EH-LS300W model, which has served me extraordinarily well! This model of Epson also does a great job as you get a great cinematic type viewing experience right in the presence of your home. I love that that projector has Android TV built in as I am a huge FAN of Android's phones. Epson always makes it easy as it provides all the necessary components that assure a great TV viewing and/presentation experience. The view, sound, range of motion are all stellar in this projector/TV, which provides a great streaming experience too.

    Bad/Limited Audio Options

I'm really trying to like this projector, but overall I had to go through a lot to make it work for me, including additional purchases. First off, the audio. I was never expecting the internal speaker to be used in my setup, because it's a mono internal speaker - I dont think anyone plans on using the built in audio for a 'Home Theater' - so Epson has provided 2 external options. Stereo output via cable, or Bluetooth. Lets start with stereo output... to use it, the rear cover has to be tossed aside. You then only get stereo sound to whatever external device you chose. So, they offer Bluetooth... which supports other formats.. i.e, 5.1 audio - but it was only after purchasing the device and reading the manual are you informed that "Audio delay may occur while using bluetooth." Heads up, it WILL occur, and its unusable. There is also no audio delay options in the system to compensate for this known problem. So now you may be saying "So what, its got HDMI in, route your signal through the receiver first, then to the projector." If I bought a different model, thats exactly what I would of done - however I purchased this specific model because it comes with Android TV, and a host of apps such as Netflix and Prime video. There is no possibility to watch those streaming services with anything other than stereo sound with a plugged in cable and rear panel removed, or delayed bluetooth. (Which give you a headache after 30 seconds of trying to put up with it.) My workaround now has been to purchase another external Android TV device, route that through my audio receiver, then connect via HDMI (Again, with the rear cover tossed in a drawer) so I can use any resemblance of surround sound with this projector and use Netflix/Prime/etc surround sound capabilities. This makes the remote game fun - the projector already came with 2 different remotes (no idea why?) and I use that to turn it on. Then once it warms up I use that to change the video output to HDMI (it does not remember this setting, it must be changed each time) so I can then turn on my second Android TV device, then my receiver. The pros are the picture is very bright and sharp, and the keystone options allows for a large room, and setup from any angle. So for that I give a couple stars... but premium features I paid extra for with this model are not usable to me. Do not buy this if you plan to use the built in Android TV with Surround. Thanks to Best Buy return policy it would be $150 re-stock fee to return it, so buying a second Android TV, HDMI cable, and doing the remote shuffle was the cheaper option to just deal with it.
