I spent a lot of time researching projectors for the Home theater in our home. We have a dedicated theater and this projector is unreal. Great picture and easy to work with. Mounted on the ceiling and the picture is just fantastic.

Very good quality projector. Got it on sale for about $1,070, tax included. For that price I doubt you could find a better projector. The best feature has to be the picture quality, followed by the screen size adjustments. I used the corner adjustment settings to perfect the image and it works very well. I was impressed by this feature the most and really appreciated that it was there. Made set up a breeze. Brightness was great. Running between eco and medium. Fan noise is quite loud so I never use the high power mode. Medium is about all I can take and even that can be a bit much. The lighted remote was also very nice, kudos for that. Now some cons... like mentioned before the fan noise is quite loud although in eco mode it is not noticeable at all which is nice and the screen is still plenty bright for dark room viewing. The projector runs very hot in front so you can see the heat waves on the screen when projecting very light or white videos. Can be VERY distracting. Maybe a small fan facing diagonally in front of the lens would get rid of it. I’ll probably end up engineering something to make that happen. One more thing. It does not have a lens cover like the work/pro projectors. I don’t know why because it is a very useful feature. I have it mounted on a table top and I can’t tell you how bad it sucks to have to look at that bulb by accident when walking by. It is BRIGHT. For the price of this thing I would’ve liked a mechanical lens cover so that when people walk by i can cover the lens so they aren’t blinded without having to turn off the projector. I realize life isn’t fair and we don’t always get what we want but I digress. On a more positive note it does have speakers and they are pretty good quality. Not soundbar quality but impressive for a projector. Overall I’d give this projector an 8 1/2 out of 10.

I've owned multiple projectors over the years, most recently the Home Cinema 3500, which unfortunately got damaged by a power surge. I had 3200 hours on that projector, still with the original bulb, and the picture remained bright and crisp throughout. Previous projectors (including prior Epsons) had short bulb lives - usually much shorter than advertised, so I was thrilled with the performance of the 3500. When it was damaged, the 3700 (newer version of the same projector) was the obvious choice. I've been using it a few weeks and I'm thrilled with the image - both 2D and 3D. Unless you're determined to go with 4K or have a pitch-black room to take advantage of a higher contrast projector, I don't see any reason to spend more. (and the higher contrast projectors tend to be less bright and far more expensive). Even with some ambient light, this is bright enough to look great. Prior experience with Epson support is also a real plus.

I bought this projector a few days ago and spent several hours over the weekend watching tv and movies. The amount of lens shift this projector has is great for placement flexibility. The adjustable feet and zoom lens allowed me to have the projector up and running with a level and clear picture within 10 minutes of taking it out of the box. No keystone correction needed.
This is my first projector, but i read extensively online before deciding this was the projector for me. My projector is at approximately a 13' throw distance and I decided on a 135" image on the wall. It was recommended to me to experiment with screen size before pulling the trigger on the screen. Very glad i waited to purchase a screen as i originally was thinking of a 110" or 120" screen. For the image being thrown onto my light grey wall (no special paint job for a screen), the image already looks surprisingly good. Even with some ambient lighting, the picture is respectable with the lamp on eco mode. I watched movies using the cinema color setting.
With all of the lights out and the room dark, the image was very impressive. I sit about 10' away from the screen and was worried a 1080p signal blown up that big wouldnt look clear or precise enough. The only imperfections i could see were from the wall itself. This projector is going to look that much better when my screen comes in. It is also nice that the remote that comes with it is backlit.
I will update if i find more to add, but i am a very happy camper right now.

The speakers comes really handy when you don't want to use your home theatre receiver. If your receiver has standby pass through then switching is automatic. The PJ speakers automatically switches off once receiver in on, I like this! My theater is 120" screen and projector is at right above my seat my seats at about 13'. PJ is very clear at these distances if you watch Blu-Rays. DVDs looks good at about 16-17' from the screen. So far about 1.5 months with this PJ and enjoying it. Lens shift will give you additional flexibility as well. My Vertical lens shift is at max, horizontal does it own shifting a bit and you may have to keep moving projector to fit your screen. Rating reduced by one star due to the quality of lens shift buttons/knobs, indicator of default/original level. Also has lot of controls to play with (bright/contrast/color/hue/etc). It is bright and will work with one 60W bulb on, viewing is difficult with all room lights on, but it is a common sense with PJ's. Noise is tolerable but couldnot make out once PJ speakers or HT receiver kicks-in.

Still learning here and have used it only a couple times so far. Set up was so simple. I was able to use the line out two times for different operations. Once to hook to a transmitter and use two mega boom 3 speakers instead of the internal speakers and position them just right. The second application I used the line out to hookup to a Rockwell PA system . So I could listen through two 750 watt speakers mounted to separate tripods on each side of the screen. Both times they were used outdoors. One with a generator to power everything. Picture is great! Don't think I would personally want to go to any less lumens. I used a separate tripod to put the projector on with an add on shelf for my iPod and DVD player. Still need to experiment and learn more. So far I am pleased with the purchase. Initially skeptical about the cost, but to get the quality and basic features I felt I would need to accept a price near that level.

I spent a long time looking at different entry level projectors (this is probably on the higher end of entry level I would say). The major constraint that I found I had to solve for in my scenario was needing a projector with Vertical Lens Shift. This projector ended up being the most affordable projector under $2K that had over 10% Vertical Lens Shift (my scenario has the projector on the top of a bookshelf on one side of the room, at about 6 feet high, projecting onto a wall on the opposite side). In short, the lens shift worked exactly as I hoped!
I currently have an xBox 360, PS3, and Wii hooked up to it, projecting onto about a 170" image on a greyish wall. In my opinion, it looks fantastic. Blu Rays look great, Netflix is amazing, and games on a screen this size are pretty amazing. For what it is worth, I do not notice any discernable lag.
The main drawback I have at this time is that the projector has no audio in for the PC/VGA input, which is what I have my Wii hooked into. This means that when I use the Wii, I need to hook up an external speaker rather than the built in speakers of the projector. This is a minor annoyance more than anything, and more due to the Wii being so old it only has analog outputs.

I took some time trying to decide if I would purchase another TV to replace my aging Panasonic Plasma that still has lots of life left in it. After reading several reviews and comparing cost I decided to go with a projection system and couldn't be happier at this point. The color and quality is perfect for home theater and the 2 speakers with 3D capability is a huge bonus. I plan on purchasing a automatic HDMI switch to accommodate several devices and mount the unit to the ceiling of our newly finished basement. Currently have it set to a screen size of 110 inches and the clarity and color is truly amazing 3000 plus lumens 70,000 to 1 contrast is hard to beat. Dark scenes are clear with lots of detail. I picked it up on sale for 1299 and could be happier. Plus it's portable take it anyplace for a movie night.. my loves the theater like experience at home.

After doing a lot of research, I selected the 3700 over the more popular 2100 and 3100 series due to repeated reviews of premature bulb failure. I have an onkyo 7.2channel surround sound hooked up through the projector using the audio Jack on the unit. the sound is awesome. The unit does make some noise, but duh, why wouldn't it. With the surround on, cant even here it. The picture quality is awesome. And I think it's better in 3d. If buying 3d glasses, there are way more affordable glasses than the epson ones. I purchased the Hi-Shock 3d radio frequency glasses, for half the price of the epson ones, and quite frankly I think that look better. I'm using the elite screens 106 inch manual pull down screen. Awesome picture quality. Chose the manual pull down one because most people like myself dont have an outlet on the ceiling. No it's not hard to install one, just didnt want to. Had it all set up for about a month, have used it several times and no issues so far, nor should I expect there to be this soon. So if you are considering, spend the extra money on this unit rather than the less expensive series models.

Was looking for a replacement for my 3D tv and stumbled into the projector market. Really happy with this discovery! This Epson projector works great; the image setup was a breeze with the ability to easily adjust the pictures size, and horizontal/vertical position. Check the Epson website for a Projection Distance Calculator that will tell you how far back from the screen the projector needs to be to achieve your desired screen size. It will also shows you how far you can adjust the horizontal/vertical position of the image based on your specified distance from the screen. Link here: https://epson.com/Support/wa00814
As for movie playback: The image is crisp once you adjust the focus, the color spectrum looks great, and the brightness is just right even on economy mode. I should note I do have the ability to shut out almost all incident daylight in my entertainment room. If I was to watch in a well lit room, I would likely turn the economy mode off.
My only complaint (and docked a star for this) would be the lack of Wi-Fi in this projector. You will need an attached wireless player or Roku stick to watch online media. Aside from the wireless connectivity this projector has all the features you need.
I do have a sound bar connected to my Blu-ray player, but was surprised to find the projector has pretty decent sound on its own. I like the added bass of my soundbar and woofer, but the projector's built in speakers are adequate if you don't want to invest in better sound.
In closing, I'm totally happy with my purchase and would recommend this projector to others.

I bought this projector over a 4K projector due to its low latency for gaming. It has very low input lag and looks great. Make sure you have plenty of room as it is not a short throw projector. Brightness is fantastic. I’m able to watch tv even with windows open, so I don’t have to feel like a vampire just to be able to watch some shows during the day.

We had this projector for over a month and it was purchased for out doors movie night to replace a low end RCA projector that we display on a RCA 100" $50 screen the projector is really bright I love the fact that is 3d now I need some 3d glasses my wife and I really enjoy watching movies out doors on our driveway (we even took the projector and screen when we went camping with friends) we just hang the screen from the garage and then we setup the projector, bluray player and speakers on top of of a round patio table a run a extension cord a set up takes about 10 min. We like the fact that it has internal speakers but I just connect a old set of computer speakers with a mini subwoofer that I had, that way a could point the speakers to where people are seating. We couldn't be happier with this Epson

I replaced an HD projector with this Epson 3700 and had no idea of the better color and brightness that awaited me! It took no effort to hook up and once I figured out how to rotate the screen, perfection awaited me! It is also the first 3D device I've ever had. Watching the first 3D movie on the 3700 was awesome! It was better 3D than any theater experience I can remember. It continues to impress any guest that watches a movie. Highly recommend the Epson family of projectors as they have inherent value given the price point.
