Great picture, but be aware... there is NO AUDIO!

I did a lot of research looking into a replacement for an old projector located in a very large meeting room. After reading all reviews, I decided on this one because it was capable of 'keystone'. It was required for this installation due to the fact the projector is located behind and higher than the screen. It works great! I've had nothing but compliments on my decision. They use a computer connected for presentations, but need the flexibility to 'screen mirror' devices when necessary as they do with every Samsung TV I installed in the place.
I knew this projector wasn't true 4K, but that wasn't what I was looking for. I needed brightness and clarity. But it is lacking one key feature!
Even I didn't notice this when reading reviews. THERE IS NO AUDIO OUT!
What? On a $2000 projector? No audio out? That meant I had to buy more adapters to make this work. Even the cheapest projectors have audio out to connect it to speakers. This expensive unit didn't even have speakers built in! I could live with that, but I truly need an audio out port. So I had to spend more money for a HDMI Audio extractor, another HDMI cable, plus an audio cable in order to connect to the audio system. Bad design mistake Epson! Also ... no wifi connection without an adapter? Jeez Epson, don't be so cheap on us. I just paid $2000 for a projector and your $500 models have those features built in. No one would enjoy a silent football game! The sales rep didn't know about it until I pointed it out to him. He was floored it didn't have one.
One last complaint ... the USB port (and there is only one). I'm not sure if it's defective or just doesn't put out enough power. My Epson Wifi adapter will not power up. The MS Wireless Display adapter powered up, but wouldn't stay connected. The display would come up, but when a connection attempt was made, it just rebooted the adapter. I ended up using an external USB power block to power the Wireless display adapter. That won't work with the Epson wifi, so I wasted money on that. Since the adapters work fine in other devices, I truly think the USB port doesn't put out enough power to function.
FYI: This unit does work with the MS Wireless Display adapter, so I can screen mirror from my Android phone or Windows 10 PC's, but alas... no audio unless I use the audio extractor. Sorry Apple ... no screen sharing available for you.
I would highly give this a 5 star rating and not think twice about it. However without a simple feature of an audio out plug, it cost me an additional $200 (not to mention labor) to make it have the same features that nearly every basic $500 model has built in.
Come on Epson, get on the ball. No one spends that much money on a project for a quiet slide presentation. We want crisp video and powerful audio. I made it work, but it cost more in the end. I'm not happy, but I'm not likely to return it either. It's installed and mounted. It's used every day by hundreds in the community. Besides, I've yet to find a comparable model with keystone features to straighten the screen. Without that feature, I never would have considered this device.

Incredible picture. Incredible color accuracy. Plenty of brightness. Just be aware that it can’t do 4K at 60 Hz. This model is just a tad old, that’s all. Otherwise it might be the best project on the market for this price.

it can do 3D! Seriously, how cool is that? it's pretty much plug and play and so easy to use. it's a little big, but not a huge deal as it's worth the size for all the features it has. i'm loving it and can't wait to use it more and more.

I had an EPSON projector years ago and the technology improvements are noticeable. This projector allows for easy adjustment on remote to fit picture within screen. Make sure to get a solid mount as this a large and heavy projector.

I did a lot of research before I landed on this. I never expected to purchase a projector because I never thought I could get that great quality pic. I can say that I have watched some great 4K HDR content on Amazon prime and Netflix and it displays awesome. My wife also doubted my projector selection but was very surprised how nice the picture displayed. I can’t wait until sports resume to watch as well. The motorized lens works great for manually adjusting the picture on your screen. I know this model had been out for a few years but I didn’t see much in this price point that had what I was looking for. It is bulky so make sure you have space. Also I wanted a 140” display so my projector had to be mounted about 18’ back to project that pic size. I hope this review helps.

Replaced an aging Epson projector with this one and we are blown away by the image. My last projector was an HD, but having 4k is so much better. Best Buy had it in the store so super happy pick up and go! We have a 135” screen and the projector is ceiling mounted about 20’ away. Easy setup and focus for a great picture!

My husband originally bought the Optoma 4k DLP Projector from Best Buy and we came to find that I could see the rainbow affect that was just awful, he could not see it but for the amount we paid that simply would not cut it. I had done some research and knew that the 3LCD would not have this issue so we decided to pay the horrendous $275 restocking fee plus the extra $200 for Epson's far superior model. WORTH IT!! And then a week later it went on sale for $500 less so we basically broke even after the price adjustment. that was pretty lucky. I knocked the epson down to 4 stars only because of the size of it. It is pretty large and unshapely but we mounted it to the ceiling so as long as you don't look up it's not too awful.

It may be a bit large and somewhat intimidating when you first open the box, but one you get it up and running, my oh my, is it glorious. The picture quality is clear and bright, and the projector fan itself is very quiet...I can barely hear it most of the time.

Great projector, especially for the money as I purchased it while on sale. It is a very large unit so make sure you see it in person before purchasing. It was much larger than I anticipated but I bought it sight unseen. Luckily it still fit as I needed it to.
Very easy to adjust and tune to my needs, although I wish there were more adjustable spinners on the legs so I could further fine tune the angles, etc.
Overall, great projector for under $2k.

I’ve been waiting for 4K projectors to come down in price for a long time, and finally settled on this one after much deliberation of Internet reviews. This continuously made the grade on most “top projector” reviews regardless of who was sponsoring them and therefore I gave it a try. I’ve had it for 2 weeks and it has not disappointed in any way. It is quiet, easy to align, and has a crystal clear picture capable of accommodating any theater room. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have had very good experiences with my previous Epson projectors and choose the 4010 for my latest upgrade. Picture is excellent. Set-up is very easy. Remote is great. Focus and picture adjustment are very easy from the remote. Note this projector is large compared to many other projectors--be sure to check the size before purchasing. (the size probably has something to do with the 15 element glass lenses) Does a good job up-scaling from dvd and blu-rays. Good if you still watch 3D video.

We want to make every night "movie" night with the Epson - Home Cinema 4010 4K 3LCD Projector! And for the sports fans, game night will never be the same - because in this case, bigger is better. When you have twenty-two players on the field at a time, the increased pixel count of the Epson 4010 makes all the difference in following the action.
I love that the Epson Home Cinema Projector doesn't use a color wheel... our old projector did, and we didn't like how you would see color artifacts when your eyes darted across the screen. That's not an issue with the Epson projector.
My teenage son and husband are really loving it for gaming. They've even started playing Halo again.
I would definitely recommend the Epson - Home Cinema 4010 4K 3LCD Projector.

This projector is a huge step up from an older Epson model I had. The lens is fully motorized so all adjustments can be made from the remote. The huge amount of lens shift allows more placement flexibility. No DLP rainbow effect, as this is a 3LCD design. It even has an automatic dust cover. Note: the projector is a large and heavy model, so get a good mount and have help for installation if hanging it from the ceiling.

The project displays perfect picture quality and visibility. It is massive and durable and allows you to set it up right or mount it upside down, It does need an adapter for it to produce sound but other than that this item is perfect.

I bought this to replace my previous Epson projector. Based on the specs, I anticipated this to be a significant upgrade. As of today, I have been please with the picture, the minimal time to warm up, the ease of installation and all of the options that come with it. I have also noticed this unit produces less heat than my previous model. So far, I am pleased.

I have to say I was in no way prepared for the quality, clarity and vivid imagery that this home cinema brings to the screen! Family movie night was pretty fantastic and seeing our hometown team win on Saturday was magnified by the performance of the Epson 4010. We were able to figure out how to mount, set up and stream pretty quickly and didn't have any issues. The guys were very impressed while they were gaming, so all around 5 stars from the whole family!
