Beginner to the projection world. I purchased an optima 4k upscale but the settings were to vague. You can dial this one in to what it needs to be. Great picture, great quality and quiet.

I returned BenQ DLP 4K and got this one. Although BenQ has more pixels, the color and picture are much better for Epson one. And, very easy to setup.

Very good picture quality. Very easy to install and setup.
One issue I have is that I am not able to set the projector to use the 120 inch screen completely and the instructions on how to get this done is not clear.

I bought this Projector about 7 month ago and have been very happy with it. Great picture and features. However, about a week ago the lamp broke for the first time. That’s after only 789 hours of use. I called Epson and they agreed to send me a new lamp free of charge. This was after I had already ordered a replacement bulb myself. Yesterday I put the new replacement bulb in (original Osram bulb) and after only 6 hours of watching the lamp turned off again. Status light is flashing blue and lamp light is solid orange which indicates a lamp issue. Called Epson again today and they said since I ordered a replacement bulb and not a $299 housing with bulb they basically don’t care and won’t accept the fact that something is wrong with the Unit. Now I have to wait for the replacement housing unit from Epson and try it again. Not to sound mean or arrogant but if the Epson support person I talked to would have a decent understanding of Projectors and accepted the fact I had ordered an original Osram replacement bulb and not a third party bulb he would have probably reacted differently.
I hope this is not a new issue like the power supply failures on the older 5040 models. At this moment I can’t recommend this Projector. Very unfortunate since it’s otherwise a great one.

It's a bit large, but it works great for my setup. I needed something with a long enough throw for a 73 inch screen. My projector sits around 12 feet from my screen, most other models would have needed a larger screen for that distance. The formatting tools for aligning the image on the screen work great as well, since my projector is at a slight angle from my screen. I've got it sitting my my end table on a 15x23 inch swivel stand, and all of the feet just barely fit. The picture is fantastic in full dark or even with lights on. My one gripe is the aspect ratio settings are lacking, at least with my Sony Bluray player.

With all the newer projectors out there makes this one out of date. No smart apps. Which is fine with me. I want a projector i dont need another smart device. For 2000 dollars this doesn't do hdr videos well. And alot of issues trying to play 4k uhd movies. Overall the projector is huge, heavy. Does have a shutter to cover the lens when not in use.
