Customers are saying

Customers commend the Home Cinema 880 projector for its excellent picture quality, brightness, and ease of setup. Many found the projector easy to use and affordable, while some noted that the fan can be noisy and that it only has one HDMI input. A few users also mentioned challenges with the zoom and focus features. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding the limitations of the HDMI ports and some minor setup adjustments.

I purchased this bc I wanted to be able to watch movies and sports with my bubble outside during nice days. I decided to try it out when streaming WW84 from my Firestick on my living room wall. W.O.W.! It was so easy to set up. The picture was so clear and I love that you can change the picture format with a push of a button. I also ordered the wireless lan attachment. There was no loud fan noise from the projector. I then tried it with my smart phone using the HDMI attachment to watch NFL Sunday Ticket and again the picture was excellent. Money well spent!

Previously owned a cheap projector from another online retailer. Of course, it was very dim, and almost impossible to see without total darkness. The Epson 880 is a huge improvement. Bright enough to watch in daylight, as long as it isn't a very dark scene. Great for football days with multiview.

Been having this for a long while now and I have to say it’s by far one of the best electronics I’ve ever bought. The quality is well worth the price and movie nights have never been better. Playing on my switch as well for game nights are so much fun with this projector! 10/10 recommend

My first time using a projector

When I received the email from Epson to test one of their projectors I was super excited, since I was going to have the experience of being the first time to use a projector, and what better if it is with Epson, if I have tried a lot of their products and not I can complain they are of excellent quality and super recommended. One of the things that I liked a lot is its easy configuration, we can adjust the language to which it is easier for us to understand, I love the option of connecting via WIFI I imagine that many in this time will be given in the same way. The image was amazing even in broad daylight. The 3300 lumens really make a big difference no matter the lighting, you can still see it vividly! The fan is very quiet and not distracting and its compact size. I plugged in an HDMI cable to allow me to switch between inputs and avoid having to unplug and plug things in. The projector comes with a remote control that can do all the image adjustments, make the image clear, and zoom. The image can be sharpened by using the focus ring on the projector. The image is clear and sharp, I was quite impressed with the image quality. I must say that this Epson Home Cinema 880 1080p projector is a must have. If you like a sharp image and easy setup, this is it. You can configure this projector to work from your computer and mobile device. I arrive just in time to use it at my baby shower and to be able to entertain family and friends. “This is a review for the Epson Home Cinema 880 1080p projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

I haven't owned a projector in a few years, so I'm not that knowledgeable on all of the current features and specs that are desirable in a projector. All I know is that you want a high lumen rating so you can use it during the day or with the lights on. The fact that this projector is rated at 3300 lumens and because it displays a 1080 picture are really the only two factors that made my decision for me. I'm surprised at how great the picture looks right out of the box with no adjustments or tuning required. The picture is very bright, even with all of the living room lights on. The built-in speaker sounds decent, but not great. (I had very low expectations for the audio quality, so I was pleasantly surprised) I'm a little disappointed that it only has one HDMI input, but at this price point you can't get everything you want. In my opinion, this is the best bang for your buck projector that you'll find at Best Buy. My family is very pleased with this purchase!

First the bad things: One of our requirements for a projector was for it to have an optical zoom so that we could appropriately size the picture. The specifications for this projector on this web site say it has a 1.1x optical zoom. Unfortunately that is not the case. This model has a fixed lens. We also struggled a bit with the keystone adjustments. We are projecting slightly off angle out of necessity, and getting the image to be rectangular was non trivial. Another complaint I have is the location of the 3 (yes 3, not 4 as many have) mounting holes on the bottom of the unit. They are all in the front half of the projector such that it is very off balance when mounted. You will need a beefy mount to keep it steady and level. We bought an inexpensive mount and it is not strong enough to keep the projector from sagging towards the rear (due to the front-biased mounting holes). The fan is quite noisy. Most people who mount a project mount it upside down, as did we. I searched high and low for the menu item that lets you flip the picture to be right side up in this orientation. Finally, frustrated I downloaded the manual and lo and behold, to flip the image (something many will need to do) you must hold down the A/V Mute button for 5 to 10 seconds. Seriously!?! Now the good things: The picture is bright and sharp when you finally get it set up properly. The remote didn't explode in our hands.

It’s interfaces very well with my telephone and Roku. The image is very clear and easily adjustable. The only complaint is the small leg to lift the front broke and I was able to glue it back but it should be built thicker.

This is the second “entry level” Epson projector I have owned. The first one was a 705HD, and lasted about 8 years with pretty extensive use. I believe it was damaged in a move, as it worked fine before packing it up and couldn’t get it to work once moved in. I bought this one to replace it. It is much brighter, allowing for viewing with lights on in the basement, if desired. I have it projecting on to a 120 inch screen, but it could work up to much larger. I really don’t know why anyone would care about the useless built in speaker, but everything else about the setup and use is very simple.

Very nice projector. I cannot say that it is not. Brightness is very good. There is only one issue I take with it. When you first start it up, it is slightly out of focus, and as it warms up it comes into focus. I can only attribute this to it warming up and things moving the smallest little bit. It takes about 3-5 minutes to become completely focused. Other than that... it is perfect and simple. It does not have the 50 different connections on that back that I do not need just so I can be charged more. Very satisfied.
