Not a paid review*. Must say if you are looking for a 4k projector under the 1k$ mark this is it. Very stylish and aesthetic. Compact size and portability also makes this versatile can move from room to room if needed. Picture quality is amazing 4k content in a light controlled room is amazing definitely where this projector shines. Picture quality is decent with full daytime light but be honest most folks are using this at night or afternoon or with blackout shades have no problem. The Bose speakers are decent and much better then most out there but if you want to have that movie cinema experience you can easily pair your home theatre via Bluetooth or hdmi to complete the setup and have that wow factor. Running my setup at 140inch and image is sharp and crisp maxes out at 150 Games look and feel amazing via ps5 & switch hdr support input lag is very good also .Def recommend you watch my review on YouTube. Overall definitely recommend if upgrading from a 1080p to 4k or if you just want a budget friendly but capable 4k project that’s portable and not huge and bulky

    Outstanding Projector for a Home-theater setup !

I have been using a 1080p projector and the upgrade to a 4K projector is truly magnificent. The Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus 4K projector is an excellent choice for a Home theater setup due to its robust performance along with its aesthetic brilliance. The projector has one of the most impressive design. The structural facet of the projector has been built to perfection offering a rectangular prism-esque structure that makes the projector very convenient to place anywhere within a household. Weighing in at just 8.8 pounds, the projector is a very portable device, perfect for relocation. Additionally, the aesthetic element of the projector has been orchestrated brilliantly. It offers a ravishing plank like texture complemented by a linen body and produces illuminating effects making it very winsome in terms of sight and feel. A tap on the plank controls the brightness of the light. This projector can project at any angle, even tilt to a 90 degree and project to the ceiling. One of the key highlight of this projector is the focus adjustment feature, which is very commendable providing quick and sharp corrections to any sorts of distortion caused due to the movement of the projector. Another outstanding feature is the color correction when projected to a non-white wall, thus eliminating the need for a screen. When using a screen, this can detect the screen and project it within its boundary. One rather negligible con is that the projector is very prone to tiny obstacles in its way of projection, often causing it to display an “obstacles detected” screen. The projector itself runs on a 3LCD display technology that provides a 4K (2160p) resolution that is crisp, detailed and lifelike. It functions with a brightness ceiling of 1000 lumens making videos/media bright and scintillating in a dark environment. However, in bright light, this may not produce the best picture, but still is viewable. The projector offers a light source life of about 20,000 hours making it a very long-lasting device. The projector does use a standard throw projection at a 1.2 ratio, thus requiring around 13 feet distance from a surface to project the maximum viewing size of 150 inches. In terms of viewing size, the Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus offers a large range of screen sizes extending from 30 inches to 150 inches. Even at the max size of 150 inch, the picture clarity is commendable. This large screen size range and the crisp 4K resolution makes it an apt choice for anyone desiring a high quality home theater or a top-grade gaming projection. The projector supports Google TV Platform. One can link their Google account to the projector to access all sorts of apps available for Google TV. The projector features Sound by Bose Technology which provides premium audio output. Though it produces a clear and rich sound, it is recommended to use a good sound bar for a complete home theater experience. The noise level of this projector is on the lower side (23 to 28 decibels). As far as the ports are concerned, it offers one HDMI port, one USB port and a 3.5 mm jack. It does play media files or open work documents from the external USB. (Just want to let you know that it requires a file manager app to be installed to browse the USB, as it took me a while to realize that). In summation, the Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus is, beyond any doubt, a high quality product, providing technical excellence implanted in aesthetic wonder.

LOVE this. It’s WAY better than we expected and you can digitally change the size of the screen. The reviews stated otherwise and so did the guy Best Buy. It covers our whole entire wall. It’s huge.

I already have a small portable projector, but the Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus seemed like a worthy upgrade, so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Below are my overall impressions, followed by some key pros and cons. Overall Thoughts The Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus is a stylish, modern portable projector that combines convenience with quality. It delivers a crisp 4K image on almost any wall, solid Bose audio, and built-in smart features through Google TV. Its compact design looks great in nearly any home. If you're looking for professional-grade performance without the professional price tag, this projector is a great option. It's versatile, easy to use, and budget-friendly. That said, if you need room-filling volume when watching movies, you may want to pair it with a good Bluetooth speaker or another audio solution. Pros 4K PRO-UHD Resolution: Epson’s pixel-shifting technology delivers a sharp, clear image up to 150 inches. It also handles lower-resolution content surprisingly well. Brightness: With 1,000 lumens of color and white brightness, the Flex Plus makes colors pop even in rooms that aren’t completely dark. It’s not the brightest projector out there, but it’s more than enough for most users. Sound by Bose: The built-in Bose system delivers good audio that fills a small to medium-sized room. It’s not going to shake the walls with explosions, but it’s impressive for such a compact unit. Google TV: If you’ve used Google TV before, you’ll feel right at home. Setup is quick with a QR code and the interface is intuitive, though occasionally a bit sluggish. EpiqSense 2.0 Auto-Setup: This feature is a game-changer. The projector automatically adjusts focus, color, and alignment, so you won’t need to fiddle with settings. It’s fast, accurate, and makes setup nearly effortless. Ambient Lighting Feature: While not full RGB, the customizable lighting under the projector adds a nice touch. You can turn it off completely, but leaving it on creates a pleasant atmosphere. The lighting is controlled by touch-sensitive buttons on the top, which has a cool wood-grain finish. Compact and Stylish Design: Weighing 8.8 lbs, the projector includes a stand with a wide tilt and rotation range. It’s not featherlight, but it feels solid and well-built. Connectivity: Includes HDMI and USB-C power input, which is great if you want to run it off a portable battery at a campsite. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support make it easy to connect to your network or pair with external speakers. Cons Not UST: This isn’t a true ultra short throw projector, so you’ll need some distance between the unit and your projection surface. It’s a traditional setup, and while that helps keep the cost down, it’s worth noting. Limited Brightness for Daylight Use: While 1,000 lumens is fine for indoor use, it may struggle in very bright rooms or spaces without a way to control lighting. Fixed Lens: There’s no zoom or lens shift, so placement matters. That said, Epson’s auto-adjustment tech helps a lot and I didn’t run into any major issues. Remote Control: The remote feels basic and a bit cheap. It works fine, but a more premium remote would better match the overall quality of the projector. Bose Sound: I wasn’t sure what to expect from a compact device like this, but with the Bose branding, I anticipated louder and more robust audio. The maximum volume left me slightly disappointed, though the overall sound quality was good, if not great.

    My Mind is Blown!

Every once in a while, a product comes along that blows me away. It happened with the first flat screen tv’s. Then again with ultra short throw projectors. and now Epson has created a portable projector that completely changes movie night for your family. The Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus Portable projector is something I never dreamed could exist as an 80’s kid but am elated it does cause now my children can experience pure magic at home! Let’s get into what makes this projector so special! Initial unboxing I was pleasantly surprised by the look, weight and overall presentation of the projector. It’s not very heavy at all coming in at just over 8 pounds it has a beautiful sturdy wood base with a high end look to it. The projector can turn and swivel and there’s also an optional floor stand that can be purchased. The projector also has ambient light underneath that can be adjusted by touching the top of the unit. It adds a nice ambience to the room. Initial setup for the projector was surprisingly simple using the new Google TV interface. Log into your google account and it gets everything up and going. The new menu system is much improved from previous Epson projectors I’ve used. The UI is snappy and functional and works well. The first time we used the projector I surprised my son with a movie night in his bedroom. We propped the projector up on his box truck that holds all his teddys bears, laid down some blankets and pillows and settled in for movie night. As long as it took to make popcorn and drinks, we were all setup and ready to go with Netflix loaded! What really impressed me on the first use was the projectors’ ability to focus automatically on the fly. Once setup in place it focused on the wall instantly and had a nice square picture. Compared to my ultra short throw projector its light years easier to setup. The out of the box colors were super impressive with no real adjustment needed. We laid on the ground under the projector and watched Despicable Me 2 and it was an absolute core memory for me and I think for my son too. He was loving every moment of sitting on the ground snuggling with his Dad watching a huge movie in HIS room. And what was so great about the experience was how easy it was to setup and break down. Within 30 seconds I can now have campout movies with my son in his room. If for some reason you get up it dims the picture briefly for a moment to not blind you. What was probably the most impressive moment to me so far was while the movie was playing, I moved the projector to his dresser on the left side of his room. The projector didn’t skip a beat, it didn’t pause, it automatically adjusted the screen and kept going as if it was in the same location as before, mind blown! The one thing it does do that’s worth noting is if the picture is at an angle there’s a bit of light bleed from the projector that projects on the wall, but it’s not noticeable enough to detract from the experience. The sound on the projector is equipped with Bose speakers that are more than sufficient. Having the projector behind us with the sound turned up it almost felt like a bit of surround sound. Overall the first movie experience with him was nothing short of magical and I look forward to so many more movie nights like this in the future! The amount of possibilities with this projector are endless. I’ve already convinced my wife to get us a screen for our backyard. It can easily substitute in any home theater setup. I used it in place of my UST by setting it on our movie room table and it looked fantastic! Can handle Xbox and PS5 as well with HDR10 and 4k with the added HDMI port. Also Bluetooth compatible so you can use wireless headphones and it can double as a speaker when not being used as a projector! Movie night outside in the backyard with tents, check! On a garage door outside with friends, check! Basically a portable tv anywhere you go! This thing is absolutely amazing! I couldn’t recommend this projector more. If you need something easy and portable that can go up to 150 inches in seconds and deliver a wonderful viewing experience this is the projector for you! Family movie nights outside, projecting at tailgating, I could go on and on. This is the most versatile and impressive product I’ve owned in a long time. 10/10!

A Welcome New Way of Thinking for Epson - LOVE it

I’ve been using Epson projectors for years in my home theater, so when I saw this new portable Lifestudio Flex Plus model—especially with the built-in Bose sound—I had to give it a try. My plan is to use it mostly for outdoor movie nights, but I tested it inside first in my home theater. Setup was super simple. I just set it on my ottoman and aimed it at the same fixed screen I use for my main Epson projector. The new Google TV interface is a massive step up from the old-school Epson menus I’m used to. It felt like switching from a Windows 3.0 PC to a modern Windows 11. Signing into Google was quick and easy, especially if you’ve got an Android device - just set it next to the projector, but Apple users shouldn’t have any trouble either—you can sign in just fine from an iPhone. The image this little projector throws is shockingly good. It’s not quite as bright as my main ceiling-mounted unit, but the auto-focus on this one gives it a sharpness edge, no question. I honestly thought about replacing my home theater projector with it, but this model isn’t designed to be ceiling-mounted. Still, the digital focus feature alone has me rethinking what I’ll look for in my next main projector. The auto-keystone and image alignment tools are impressive—just point it toward your screen and it does most of the work. You can also fine-tune it with four-corner keystone adjustments that are dead simple to use. The built-in Bose speakers are loud and clear. Watching football, some movies and even just streaming some YouTube music sounded great. That said, I personally prefer sound to come from right where the image is, so for indoors I’d probably pair it to a soundbar using Bluetooth. Outdoors, though, the built-in speakers are going to be perfect—especially when you’re sitting behind or near the projector. Bluetooth connectivity worked flawlessly. I paired it with a set of Bose headphones and the audio was perfectly synced—no lag at all. You can even use the projector as a Google Home speaker when you’re not watching anything, which is a nice bonus because I’ll probably just have this thing sitting out when not in use - It looks great. The oak finish and ambient lighting make it feel more like something Hue would produce and sell you as a stand alone lamp for hundreds of dollars. You could easily leave it out on a table without it looking out of place. Really clever. Now that’s not to say everything is perfect. Epson calls this a “portable” projector, and sure, you can carry it easily and set it up just about anywhere—but don’t confuse that with it being truly cordless. Yes, it technically supports USB-C power input, but in reality, it needs a very specific and very beefy battery to run off USB-C: minimum 24,000 mAh with at least 100W output. I’ve got two large USB-C laptop battery packs and neither one could even get this projector into standby mode. The manual even says you’ll get maybe an hour of use from a battery that size, so unless you’ve got one of those big brick-style power stations, just plan to run an extension cord. Not a dealbreaker, but it’s worth knowing before you take it off the grid. One other quirk. If you’re using it in a more permanent theater setup, keep in mind that while the projector can auto-correct a very off-center image, the physical light beam still spreads beyond your screen. That doesn’t affect the image itself, but there’s a bit of light spill that might bug picky folks (like me). For casual or outdoor use, though, it’s a non-issue. All said, Epson really knocked it out of the park with this one. The image is sharp, the sound is rich, and setup is practically foolproof. Whether you’re throwing it on a table in the backyard for a movie night or setting it up in your living room, it just works. If portability, style, and simplicity matter to you—but you still want a high-quality image—this projector delivers in a big way.

This is a great projector that I upgraded to from a different brand and older model. It autocorrects the image based on the surface you are projecting on. No need to manual zoom or manual focus. It can connect to your netflix or other streaming services via wi-fi. It can connect to bluetooth speakers for audio reinforcement. It does have speakers but I have a big PA monitor i prefer to use. Great colors and very nice image.

The fan is far too loud. I own an older Ef-12 projector and there is no noticeable fan noise. On this new unit the fan noise is obnoxious from the moment it is turned on. Very surprised by that. The Bose sound is not very Bose-ish. I expected it to be amazing like my Bose mini-speaker (which seems like it would fit inside this projector) but I found the sound to be lackluster and not better than my old Ef-12. Another annoyance for me, maybe not for you, is that this device has a power block. For as sleek as this all-in-one unit is, it seems like a misstep to have an external power block. It is like they stuffed sound and video into the unit but forgot to leave room for the power supply. For my set up it leaves a sharp edged block in the middle of the room to step on in the dark.

The perfect projector for families with kids

Why families will love this projector: - Easy to setup and position – auto shape correction works great - Unique design fits anywhere and the under glow is fun and magical - 4K picture is sharp and amply bright for movie night - Safety features like object detection help protect eyes. The Lifestudio Flex Plus is such a fun little projector. I was very curious to see Epson trying out this new form factor in this device. If you’ve owned a long throw projector, you know how annoying getting the feet setup up perfectly can be. With this model it holds its position on a short pedestal and has the perfect amount to tension to easily position it in no time. That paired with the excellent auto shape calibration means you can be ready for movie night anywhere in less than a minute. The Plus version has a nice wood grain top, anodized aluminum stand, and RGB led under glow that brings some magic and fun to movie night. The kids will know exactly what is happening when this device comes out and the lights turn on. There are different colors of subtle glows from warm white, blues/purples, to rainbow and has adjustable brightness. I found that it brightened up the room just enough to see your popcorn and safely move around during your featured film. In terms of inputs, you can power this with the included AC adapter, but all with USB-C making it super versatile. If you have a laptop charger or battery bank, you can easily power this unit and bring it anywhere you want to host! It has HDMI and supports USB A for thumb drives, and also has a headphone port for private listening or you can pair your Bluetooth headphones as well. Speaking of the picture, the 4K image is sharp and has great color and contrast. This projector maxes out at about 1000 lumens, so it’s perfect for movie evenings or nights, but daytime usage in rooms with a lot of sunlight are not going to provide the best experience. The built-in Bose speaker produces great sound for the size with good highs and mids. It's not room filling, but definitely enough as an all-in-one package. If you have a soundbar that supports bluetooth you can easily pair that if you're looking for something more substantial. This projector has all the baked-in apps that you would expect. It runs Google TV and has Netflix, Youtube, Prime Video, and more so you don’t have to tack on an additional stick to get the service that you want. Finally, I tried the Projection Studio app which allows you to pair your phone as a remote and also allows easily sharing photos and video on family night. If you have a bunch of members with phones it’s a really fun interactive way for people to upload content, view it live, and send reactions like comments and emojis. It was definitely a blast when we used it and fun to see all the photos and memories that people had captured!

The Epson Flex Plus projector is a good looking projector, very stylish. The built in stand lets you just plop it down, point it at something and start projecting, sounds great! So in the spirit of the pictures and text on the box, I just pulled this guy out, set it down, turned it on and I was ready to watch some cool stuff…. The automatic picture shape and focus functions are nifty, and it’s nice the unit can adjust on the fly. The stand also allows you to flip the projector up to the ceiling and watch overhead, which is a nice feature. When moving the unit to get the picture bigger, it does its best to make the image square and level. Focus is not quite as accurate as I would have liked as I tried out different positions and walls, I needed to adjust the focus one or two clicks in a couple of spots, but it otherwise was trouble free. This is a great feature suited well to its portable nature. There is a nice ring of LED lights that shine out from under the Flex Plus’ body. You can adjust them easily with the touch sensitivity around the Epson logo on the top of the unit. These lights are great when the room is super dark to find your way around, I turn them off when watching so they don’t compete with the content. Don’t have or want a google account? Don't bother. The projector is non functional until you sign in. The HMDI and USB inputs do not work without you first signing in or signing up. The box should just say Google rather than Epson. You will be held captive to updates before you can do anything with this unit. It is rather disappointing that Epson has abandoned it’s customers to the whims of another company. The forced GoogleTV integration means this box will become trash if (when) Google decides to stop support for this setup. The fan noise is entirely too loud for a little thing like this. The fan itself is cheap sounding, quite reminiscent of filmstrip projectors in the 80’s. This would be less of an issue if it were cooling a blazing sun of a projector... The picture is not particularly bright. It’s not suited for viewing in daylight unless you have some blackout shades. 4K content looks nice, not as good as my TV, but good enough for the purposes of this unit. There is 1000 lumens of brightness available according to the specs. If you’re buying a screen for this projector, make sure it’s a reflective one, if it’s just one of the lightweight screens too much light goes through and you’ll want to cherish every scarce photon with the limited output here. One of the differentiating features of the Flex Plus that makes it Plus is the USB-C port in the back that promises outlet free enjoyment. The manual states that if you use that port, it can only accept 100 watts of power and the picture will be dimmed. The AC transformer it usually runs on is 180 watts. The sound is good, if you turn it up too much the system starts ducking to prevent clipping. It’s impressive how much sound comes out of this little box’s speakers. One of the issues here is that Bose engineered sound is competing against the bottom-of-the-barrel fan. Outdoors, the Flex Plus’ ability to connect to an external with bluetooth or the 3.5mm jack will be very helpful. The remote feels generic and cheap, with none of the pleasant styling of the unit itself. It connects via bluetooth quickly. It works. You do not have to have the remote paired for it to work as a standard IR remote. Overall, I would say styling of something that you aren’t looking at while it’s working isn’t a good reason to compromise on the actual functions of the unit. If it was significantly brighter, or if it ran off power for a couple of hours at full tilt, or if the fan wasn’t so prominent, the value proposition of the Epson would be better. I do not recommend this projector.

A Great Project for its Price With Few Flows

This project is an excellent choice for one in terms of its price range. While not perfect, I can still recommend it. Build Quality and Size: The quality of build is excellent as all parts seem to be built with high quality fancy components. I look at this, and it really makes me think it is at a much higher price point. They claim this is a portable unit, but it really isn’t. The size is someone large to be portable, but it really weighs a lot, and not portable. Setup: Setup of the hardware couldn’t be easier. You put the projector where you want it, plug the power brick between it and the wall outlet and you are done. Setting up the software requires you to download an app on your phone and create an Epson account. I am a little tired of having to download apps and creating accounts for everything, but I guess that is the way things go now. Going through the app, it will tell you step by step how to set everything up, which is probably unnecessary since it should be obvious how to. The projector runs on Google TV and sets up the same way and any Google TV product. You will need to create a Google account if you don’t already have one (I do). While initially setting up, you will be required to log into your Google account, and the software will do all its updates. This takes a long time. The next step is to select the streaming services that you use. This will create icons on the screen for each service you have. There are a bunch of picture, sound, input, and general settings. I really didn’t need to change anything to make it work better. The default settings worked fine for me. Overall, the setup was very easy and didn’t have any problems. Picture Quality: The picture is very sharp, especially with 4K. The colors while decent, are a little washed out and not very vibrant, even with HDR. The focus works well although it doesn’t happen until the projector has been on for a couple of minutes. The initial screen when powered up is very out of focus, so you think there is something wrong until it finally decides to focus. The self-adjusting position works well and compensates for angle, rotation, focus, and distance. While it works great, there is something strange I noticed. There is a very faint frame in the background where the image would be if it didn’t self-adjust. While slight, it is noticeable even when watching content. The brightness is fine from bright rooms down to dark rooms. Including light from outside, I didn’t have any trouble seeing the picture. Overall, the picture quality is very good, but not great. Sound Quality: The sound quality is excellent, with a wide range of frequencies including a lot of rumble, but this should be expected from Bose sound. This is especially true if sitting in the correct position. It is best to sit somewhere behind the projector, even offset to the side of it and while you can notice that it is not quite coming out of the screen, it pairs well with the screen. Sitting in front of it doesn’t work as well since you can hear that it is coming from behind you and nowhere near the screen. Overall, the sound quality is very good, especially if you are sitting in the right place. Remote Control: The remote control is simple but standard for a TV. It has power, direction buttons and enter, home, volume, brightness, input, and buttons to start the most common streaming services. I do always question which services they choose since every remote is different. There is also a voice command that after pressing it, you can use it to search using your voice. This worked incredibly well and was accurate 100% of the time, and this feature is great since you no longer must use the directional buttons to search for items. One thing that is unfortunately missing is play and pause buttons. I think you can do it with every app but the way you do it is different, and I generally had trouble figuring it out. A dedicated button would have been great. In addition, there is a button to select the Google account being used, a button that brings you directly to settings, a button that brings you directly to typical picture settings, and a button that allows you to manually focus the projector, but I think it does a great job of automatically focusing it anyway. Noise: The unit is reasonable quiet, and you only hear the fan when it is quiet in the room. While playing content, you can’t even hear it. Lighting: The unit is the projector sitting on a pole which sits on a plate. There is a light that shines from the bottom of the project to the plate on the bottom lighting up. You can adjust the brightness of it by tapping the top of the projector to cycle through all the brightnesses. I leave it on but honestly have no idea what it is useful for. Inputs: There are inputs for HDMI and USB-A, as well as the stream app input (sort of speak). The HDMI input works as expected and the USB input allows you to view media saved to it. There is a USB-C connection that says PD, but I didn’t use it or know exactly which direction it is. App: I found the app to be very convoluted and not easy to figure out. I paired easily to the projector without any problems, except for some reason, it lost the pairing after a couple of days and had to pair it again, but again very simple. There is a remote on the screen which is a simplified version of the real remote control. I don’t see the point of it when you can just use the real remote and have all the buttons. The app allows you to play personal videos but no matter how hard I tried, I was never able to figure out how it works. The app really needs some work to simplify it and make it make more sense, and like I said, not forget the connection. Google TV: This uses Google TV and if you have ever used it before, all you see will be very familiar. When you are on the home screen, it will display various videos that you might be interested in. Below that, it displays all the apps it can play from. This screen is probably overkill since a lot of it may not apply to you. The live screen will show you a guide of channels from your services or free services. The free screen will show you in a matrix of various movies that are free to you from free services, mostly paid for by ads. There are decent movies to select from. The shop screen is a matrix of movies you can buy here, again a decent selection. I believe this is paid for by your Google wallet, although honestly I never bought anything directly from this screen. The app screen shows you all the streaming services you have installed on the system, which ones are available to install, although you selected your apps to install during setup of the system. Normally I would say to only use your apps list but for some reason there are more apps listed there that are installed beyond what I selected during initial setup. Can’t explain it. From the main screen, you can turn on the screen saver (which are photos on your Google drive. You can also go into settings here. There are a ton of settings to not go into. I didn’t touch any of them and are satisfied with its performance. Summary: In summary, this is a fine projector for its price point and while more expensive one may be better, this is fine for my use. Google TV works great (and is my favorite of the different streaming interfaces available). While there are places that could be improved most noticeably the colors in the picture, and the convoluted app which I will never touch again, there aren’t really negatives I can give it. I would recommend it.

I've been fiddling with at home projection for about a dozen or so years now and in that time have tried all manner of setups - usually for movies, sporting events and sometimes video games - so I'm pretty familiar with the goods and bads of projection. And this Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus 4K is an awesome projector a ton of great features for a solid price. While not the HIGHEST end model, it should satisfy most users across a variety of use cases and I can highly recommend it for most folks. To test this project, I first took it to my normal projection space - a light controlled space with a 100" projection screen. I simply plopped the Epson projector down next to me, pointed it at the screen, plugged it in and turned it on. Like any Google TV setup, ALL controls are through the Google Home landing page (so you do have to log in to even use the basic functionality, which I can see some folks disliking - but that's how the Google TV ecosystem works). You do NOT have to buy anything through Google and can always just set it to use an HDMI source from the Google TV landing page. Setup was quick and easy as I have another Google TV device. Once set up, I was blown away by the brightness, focus and auto-keystone alignment on this model - while it's not as bright as my typical projector (less than half the lumens - though that one was more thabn double the price) it was easily usable with the lights on and with the lights out I actually turned it down. The auto-keystone and auto-focus keeps the picture the right shape and in solid focus even when I had the projector at a fairly extreme horizontal angle to the screen. This makes it much more plug and play than most projectors I've used over the years as does the stand which makes the projector easy to place / aim where you want it. Aside from the picture / focus / keystone, there are two other standout features here. The first is the sound - most projects lack speakers, and those that do are nothing to write home about. For my normal setup, I use a separate surround sound system. While the Bose speakers here are inherenlty limited by size of the device, they're solid speakers that product clear and loud sound that can certainly fill a room. For an on the go movie night (indoors or out), I'd have no problem using them. Second is the ability to power the projector off of USB-C - though you're limited to a lower maximum brightness, this still provides amazing flexibility to use USB-C battery packs and project anywhere, great for outdoor movie nights! So if you're in the market for a portable (or at home) projector and don't mind the form factor here (the big downside is that you can't really effectively wall or ceiling mount the projector), this is a great option for at home projection. Give it a try today!

From the moment I unboxed the Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus, the first impression was how solid and thoughtfully engineered it feels. The chassis has a weight and finish that inspire confidence—it doesn’t feel plasticky or cheap. This weight could have been a negative as the shipping box come slightly damaged BUT Epson did a great job strategically designing the packaging and nothing was damaged. Setting it on its built-in tiltable stand feels robust, and the hinge has just the right resistance so it stays put without wobble. The power and data ports are well placed so that routing cables is clean and intuitive. In short: it feels like a device meant to travel and to last, not a toy that’ll fall apart after a few uses. One of the big strengths of this projector is how easy it is to get up and running—even outdoors. There is an app that will help you maximize the full potential of the projector so I did download another phone app to really test all the capabilities. The auto-setup feature detects the wall or screen, adjusts focus, corrects keystone, and aligns automatically within seconds so you don’t have to wrestle with menus or manual adjustments. In practice, moving the projector or tilting it slightly off-axis just sees the image snap back into place. Outdoors, once the ambient light is low, it’s surprisingly painless to get a crisp, even image with minimal effort. Once the image is up, the picture quality is impressive for a portable projector. It supports up to 4K PRO-UHD resolution (via pixel shifting) and delivers 1,000 lumens of both color and white brightness. You can project up to a 150-inch diagonal screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, HDR10 and HLG support, and 10-bit color processing for vibrant tones and smooth gradients. The automatic screen sizing feature works reliably—just one tap and it corrects the image perfectly to your surface. The under-glow light adds a stylish touch, creating a subtle ambient glow that looks especially great when using it outdoors at night. Full disclosure, the documents that come with the projector lack a lot of the how-to, so I had to utilize Youtube for some of the information on controlling the ambient lights and using the remote to do some manual adjustments. The built-in Bose sound system is what truly sets the Flex Plus apart. The speakers deliver a surprisingly rich and full-bodied sound with real depth and clarity. Dialogue is crisp, and the bass has warmth that fills a backyard space without needing an external speaker. It’s powerful enough for outdoor movie nights and casual gatherings, providing a cinematic feel without any extra setup. Combined with the strong build quality, effortless setup, and striking visuals, the Epson Lifestudio Flex Plus is a premium, portable projector that feels as good to use as it looks. I utilized both the included AC power cable for standard wall outlets but where this projector will get the most use and power from will be when we set up outside for movie nights or spontaneous sporting events on a big screen outside. You can also power this projector with a USB-C cable and portable power station. One note is bright environments will give the project a run for its money when it comes to projecting a visible image. It prefers darker environments.

The Epson - Lifestudio Flex Plus 4K Pro-UHD Portable Lifestyle Smart Projector with Sound by Bose Technology is a high quality 3LCD, HDR, wireless projector that fits in any environment and looks like a piece of fine furniture. It is easy to setup and includes a wireless remote. It runs Google TV OS and has all of the major apps available. I setup the projector on my back screened in porch. I have a 100 inch screen and the projector completely filled the screen from corner to corner from a distance of about 8-10 feet. I used the projector at night and during late afternoon hours. At night, the picture is brilliant, bright and colorful and rivals the experience of a 4K tv in addition to being much more immersive because of its 100 inch size. In late afternoon, the picture is still very good but lacks some of the punch provided st night. The sound is surprisingly good using the Bose Technology. I highly recommend the Lifestudio Flex Plus 4K Pro. It is stylistic, easy to use, and has a picture quality that rivals more expensive projectors.
