Customers are pleased with the LS650 4K PRO-UHD projector's sound and picture quality, frequently praising its brightness and vibrant colors, even in daylight. However, some users noted the projector's size and reported noticeable fan noise, particularly at higher brightness levels. The audio quality was a highlight for many, with comments emphasizing the clear and undistorted sound across the frequency range. Despite some drawbacks, the positive feedback on image quality suggests a strong overall visual experience.

The projector is nice looking and lighter than I expected. It has a motion detector to shut off the projection if you get too close. The setup process was easy. Using the Epson app to adjust the picture worked incredibly well. There are also options to use the remote to adjust the picture and remove any waves or correct the shape. The speaker is amazing, so much so that you could comfortably use it without a soundbar or other audio equipment. This makes it great if you wanted to move this around. I suspect most people will use this connected to audio equipment and it works flawlessly with control of a Sonos soundbar. There are many options for adjusting level and focus. The picture is very bright and having the Android operating system on board is great.
Using on a white wall showed a bright picture in a darker room. Using with an ALR screen in a room with some light has been amazing. So much that I’m using it to replace an LED TV.
There is a bit of noise, but for a picture this large you generally sit further away making it less of an issue.
This is not a true 4k picture, marketed as “4K PRO-UHD”. This uses a 1080p picture to shift pixels to recreate a 2160p resolution. This is expected in a projector at this price point, and doesn’t create a clear picture, but the fact that they are marketed as 4K bothers me (every projector manufacturer does this, not just this one).
Over all, this is a really great projector that is easy to recommend

Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS650 Smart Streaming Laser Projector - White
Included- projector, remote with batteries, power cord, Quick set up guide
Setup-
The setup on this was a breeze. I was able to do it in just a few minutes. All I had to do was a few simple steps. The projector was securely packed and nicely wrapped in the box to protect it. I unpacked it and unwrapped it. I put the batteries into the remote, plugged the power cord into the projector and into the wall and turned it on. The screens will walk you through a few prompts, initially connecting the wifi, logging into my google account. setting up the built in Android TV and downloading additional apps. Then I quickly paired my remote control with my projector by holding down the two buttons indicated for a few moments and that was it.
Placement-
The placement of the projector from the distance of wall/screen will dictate the size of the image size. You could have an image as large as 120 inches if you're able to set the front of the projector about 31.5 inches away from the wall. The projector itself is quite large in size, measuring about 18 inches by 15 inches by 5.5 inches and weighing approximately 16 pounds. If you don't have a piece of furniture large enough for the 120 inch screen, you could set the front about 26 inches away from the wall/screen for a 100 inch image. If the image is not level, there are adjustable feet on the front you can turn to help level out the projector and picture.
Usage-
If you feel like the focus of the picture needs to be adjusted, remove the cover on the side of the projector and there's a lever you move up or down to adjust the sharpness. I recommend you wait a few minutes for the projector to warm up. I felt like once it did the picture was very clear and I didn't need to do any adjustments. As far as the sound goes, it's okay. I'm going to be honest because I prefer and am used to having a soundbar, so I feel like the overall sound is lacking. I will connect a sound bar for my regular usage since there is an optical out audio port, but I wanted to make sure I fully tested the projector sound with the built in speakers from Yamaha. Also, if the projector detects any obstruction, it immediately beeps and stops projecting for safety. Once the obstructions is removed, the picture will come back on. You can also connect a video device or computer to the projector using a HDMI cable (which is not included).
Thoughts-
Overall, I'm very happy with the Epson Epiqvision Ultra LS650 Smart Streaming Projector. One downside is the actual projector is quite large so you need to have a pretty big piece of furniture that's really deep to set this on because it's a short throw. However, I love the fact I don't have to try and mount this from the ceiling. That would be such a pain. I love the huge image size of 120 inches with a 4K PRO-UHD1 technology. The picture is crystal clear and the color is vibrant. It's easy to adjust the brightness on the settings if it's needed. I'm using the projector in our finished basement and it will make for some great movie nights and high gaming entertainment. I think the built in speakers are alright but I prefer a sound bar for a more encompassing experience but I understand not everyone has one of those. The lack of a sound bar will not diminish enjoying the picture of projector at all. If you're looking for a high quality projector, the Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS650 will not disappoint.

I got this unit to use on my worksite for large presentations and functions. I have an ls800 at home and really liked how it was bright enough to use in my family room with the blinds open midday. It had easy setup (using the epson setting assist app), and razer sharp picture with really good contrast. I got the ls650 because it does not sacrifice much brightness at 3600 lumens vs 4000 lumens, way above a lot of the competition. The sound is the same great yamaha built in soundbar, but the cost to the work budget is much less vs the LS800. This is a good value. This can sit on the cart right up at the front of the room and we don't have to worry about people walking in front of the image when they come in late. We have it set right at 100 inches, and it claims up to 120, which I can easily see that achieving. This uses 3chip 3lcd technology for color and they do work well. It's much like my regular TV with quantam dots, very good colors. Contrast is very good. I generally use a computer hooked up to this for presentations, but for some stuff we use the built in Google tv stuff occasionally for video casting, but I have used my streaming library a few times to watch movies and the hdr range is very good. Now again, this is a pro-uhd projector, technically half the pixels as a true 4k projector (yes Pro does not mean better here when added to 4k, but a marketing term to created to describe what they built that didnt have a better name. Like “projector 4k” for them, not really like professional. That being said, it is a very good quality over my old standard full HD projector, and with dynamic contrast, very good. Setting up I did use the epson assisting app, it did help size the screen right for the projector screen. Paired easily with the machine. The yamaha sound bar I really like because I do not have to have my separate soundbar set up below and plugged into the av cart anymore, this fills our 25 x 30 conference room very adequately for what we do on most days. I’m not looking for a theater there. That being said it'd the same as my ls800 which does well in my 16x20 family room very easily. I do have a large PA sized speaker that I have stashed in a closet if needed for something that may have a prolonged dialog people are going to have to listen to. It's a pa sized one we use for presentation with a mic system. It's got bluetooth and this pairs right with it. Overall, I really like this unit and the value vs competitors is on par, but having my other 2 projectors most recently being epson, and theur set up easy to work with, this an easy decision for me to get. Having android tv built in was a nice perk, nothing else to connect or another proprietary app store, like several other big manufactures use, that are ok, but limit some apps. This is my 4th android ran tv/video system, 3 of the 4 run like champs, the other was limited by the hardware it was on. I highly reccomed this projector if you like small footprint vs standard throw, all in one sound (less stuff to drag with) and bright, colorful well contrasted picture. You get what you pay for generally, and bright and more crisp more than several full 4k projectors at this price point. The is really is really only one that is full 4k with short throw like this from a brand I know, and do like, and similar pricing, but not nearly as bright for a lit room. I trust the epson because I've had several of the other companies products and they get flakey after a bit (just under 2 years). My oldest epson is now going on 5 years, no issues, and my ls800 on 2 years and no issues. I have no reason to deduct any stars on this, and reccomend it.

PROS:
• "ultra short throw" - you can place the projector in front of your screen rather than back like traditional projectors
• built-in sound (by Yamaha) is excellent and convenient
• set-up is a breeze
• works with Google Assistant
• Max screen size is 120 inches (or shorter) - very nice picture even @120
• built-in streaming apps are convenient
• The design of the projector looks lush and fits in with most living room spaces (this is designed with your living room being where this will be)
• eARC is included (on one HDMI input)
• Two-year limited warranty; two-business-day replacement with free shipping (always happy to see a company thinking about this)
CONS:
• price ($2500)
• wish it was brighter overall for the price point
• Netflix is not included in the onboard streaming apps (I suggest pairing it with a Shield, Apple TV, or Google Chromecast)
• The projector has a large footprint (but manageable)
• Could use more HDMI inputs (for streaming devices, consoles, for example)
• Not native 4K (for some, this doesn't matter, but when you're used to native 4K, you'll be able to tell the difference)
Seiko Epson Corporation has been around since 1942! The Japanese electronics company has dominated the commercial and consumer printer industry for years but has also earned a name for itself in the projector market. Only a few companies have delved as deeply into home projectors as Epson, and the Epson LS650 4K projector is a great example. Although it has many features, the price point limits its appeal to the general public. At a time when OLED TVs are getting less and less expensive (77" LG OLED is currently going for $1700), it's tough to suggest a projector over a traditional TV. On the other hand, having a screen that can be taken down can minimize a style in your living space that a TV cannot provide.
There are plenty of options for cheaper projectors out there. Before ordering this Epson, I had a NOMVDIC L500, which retails for $599. It lacked the brightness it needed to be enjoyed on our patio during the day, but the picture clarity was more than serviceable at night when the brightness worked with the lighting. Now, being $599, you'd expect that. When anticipating the LS650, I imagined it to be so different that I'd prefer it over my current 65" LG C3 in the house's main entertainment area. That may have been my fault for wishful thinking, but for a projector that costs $2500, you'd expect it to impress.
It is lightyears better than the NOMVDIC regarding clarity, HDR, brightness, and overall quality. However, with my eyes being used to OLED screens, nothing will compare to blacks and the color contrast.
The built-in speakers are a pleasant surprise and very convenient. This is especially true if you set it up for outside viewing or in a room without a dedicated speaker system. This is perfect for us because we plan on using it off and on in the covered patio during those long, warm summer nights. The kids love watching movies or sports (and now Xbox, too).
The 4K isn't native; instead, it has pixel-shift technology. This isn't a huge issue for most who aren't used to 4K, especially on a large screen, but this is another point that it's difficult for me to ignore when I'm used to an OLED screen for most of my viewing. With all this being said, this does provide a superb picture, considering it's a projector. It's incredible what lasers can do when projecting an image this clear.
If you're in the market for a projector and have your sights specifically on a projector rather than a TV, this EPSON is one of the best "portable" projectors with a built-in sound system. And with them standing behind their product, I would suggest going for this one - although I wish the price point were a little closer to $1800.

The Epson LS650 4K PRO-UHD projector is an impressive piece of technology. Being a short throw projector, it is placed close to the wall to produce a picture from 60" to a maximum of 120". Placing the projector between 10 and 11 inches from the wall produces around a 100 inch picture.
Picture size is only part of the... well, picture. But how is the quality? The LS650 creates a very impressively bright, sharp picture. Colors are excellent and accurate, and contrast is really good. It supports HDR10, as well.
Also impressive, at least for a projector, is the Yamaha sound. Most projectors have a really thin sound. But the LS650 sounds decently rich across the spectrum.
If you're looking for a projector for gaming, the LS650 has pros and cons. While it has a decently low latency at 24 ms, fine for most games, it does not have the higher bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports needed for providing 4k at 120 Hz offered by recent gaming consoles, opting instead for HDMI 2.0.
The only thing that detracts from the overall experience with the LS650 is the sound from the cooling fans. It's pretty loud. If you're watching a movie and have the volume turned up you probably won't notice it that much. But during the quieter scenes, it becomes an issue. Also, keep in mind that with larger screen sizes you would be father away from the projector so the sound wouldn't be as much of an issue.
In spite of the fan sound, I'm still very impressed with the LS650. The picture quality provided by the 3LCD system is impressive, and the sound is really good for a projector.
