I was pricing portable scanners because of the size. Decided I did not really need portability and the flatbed although large has much better resolution. This resolution difference not critical on documents but very nice on photos and makes a difference on faxes that are sometimes sent with low quality. I have an HP all in one printer scanner but got tired of it constantly loosing connection with scanner. I would have to reboot to get HP scanner drivers to work. Tha Epson flatbed has not given me any issues so far with the usb connection. Nice value for the price also.

This is my forth scanner over a period of 30 years. The one I bought a few weeks ago was by far the easiest to install. It was plug and play with Windows 7. So far I mainly used it to save documents as PDF files. I am impressed by the quality of the scans.

This is a superb scanner. Great, high-resolution scans. Am extremely pleased with the quality after 100-plus scans. Lightweight and portable. Fits in a briefcase with the laptop. Two issues: First, set up and installation took phone and computer assistance from Total Tech Support. The laptop (HP Spectre) and the scanner would not communicate through the cables and laptop docking station. Problem solved with the addition of a second cable. Still cannot control scans from the scanner buttons. Will revisit this issue.

I am exclusively a laptop user so portability is important. Its light weight makes this scanner is very portable. It can also scan when it is upright on its 'kickstand' or prone. The quality of the scanned document was very good.

If looking for a scanner that can be used on your Mac then this fits the bill. It's compact size is nice and that you can also scan documents to a pdf. Really like that I can place several photos on screen and it separates them in file. I have to spend some time figuring out the various instructions because I want to be able to keep program open and just keep scanning, but seems I have to open it each time. But, simple enough. Doesn't have it's own photo program but I am sending them all over to IPhoto. Good price too.

It is a basic scanner but it does what it is designed to do. I like that it is compact and easy to store. Installation was easy on my Mac, and I was able to use it immediately. I’m only giving it 4 stars cos I wish the hi-res scanning would be a bit quicker.

I wanted this to fix some yellowed photos. There’s a big difference between the original and the scanned. On some you don’t even notice they’re yellow or faded. They come out all fresh and clean. Some I struggled with. You just have to work with it. I’m pretty amazed. I saved up my points and then converted to certificates when I bought this, on the advice of the Best Buy guys in photo. Certificates expire, points don’t. It’s a nice scanner. It’s compact. It’s like a notebook. Had no trouble installing. A little trouble find it on my laptop and then how to turn it on.

Works as advertised. Flatbed scanner with easy operation, high quality digital imports, multiple settings for resolution, formatting, etc. Scans multiple pix at a time and keeps them separate and perfectly horizontal. Not speedy and slightly noisy but really great value for the price. Used to prepare a photo book of 20 years worth of photos, ~ 500+. Holding up well. Hooked to MacBook running OS 15.3.

I bought this scanner to copy forms and documents. The first one I purchased was defective and I returned it to Best Buy with no hassles. The resolution of the scanner is very good and the copies are sharp and clear. The only minor complaint is that it does not want to work if connected to a hub.

I was looking for a scanner to scan all of my family's pictures, and share them with everyone. They've been stuck in boxes for years, so this is a great way to see them again. Once Epson is downloaded onto your computer, it's really easy to hit the ground running. I love how I'm able to have multiple images scanning at once. My only complaint is that it's a little noisy, when scanning. But then again, I'm not sure if other scanners are noisy as well, so not a big deal.

Bought this scanner since Canon stopped making drivers for my old Canoscan on Windows 10 and OSX El Capitan. This scanner does the job well. I use it mainly to scan in line art to photoshop. Their software is ok, even though It has crashed on my iMac, but in all fairness, I do get the beach ball of death on a couple of other programs as well.

I used to use an Epson V600 to scan my watercolor paintings but couldn’t bring it with me when I moved, and wanted something a little easier to deal with space-wise since I don’t have a dedicated desk at the new place yet. The V39 still takes just as good scans while being faster and quieter. It’s nice to not have to plug it into an outlet as well, so I can just plug it into my laptop and use it anywhere in the house. The only issue I’ve had is that if the paper you’re scanning is at all lifted away from the surface of the glass the scan of that area can look blurry/out of focus. Since I do watercolor and the paper can buckle so it’s not perfectly flat, I’ve had this happen a few times. It also happens around the edges when the paper is bigger than the area of the glass and hangs over the edge. However, it’s pretty easy to just put a piece of cardboard in between the paper and the lid to help flatten it out and avoid this problem.

Great bang for your buck. It can be used by non-techy people like me really easily with full auto mode. I can place as many photos on the glass as I can with a small gap between each one, close the lid and hit scan, it scans and then automatically opens your file target location (which you can change in settings) and view photo and I can do all of this in about 30 seconds or so if I was to Guess. I used this to digitize about 6,500 old family pictures. One con is that you can select what # you want the finished scanned file to start on (file type: img/ file #: 001) but it has to be only 3 numbers which caused a hiccup when I kept seeing “img 999” even after I had just scanned 5 or 6 more. All in great; would be great if they could have a better instructions booklet because when you go to download the software on their website, there is so many options to hit and no real guidance
