For the price, this is an excellent scanner. The scans are very clear and the only negative would be that it's a little loud but not enough to be a strike against it.

Bought this to replace a really old HP scanner that konked out on me. This scanner is light weight and hooks up to my PC with a USB cable. Scans quickly and the output is very sharp. Love the scan to print function. Good purchase for the price!

I bought this scanner when my last one (an HP) crapped out for no apparent reason. The quality of the scanned images is good and I also Iike the ability to save images as different types of files (pdf, jpg, tiff, etc). Good basic entry level scanner at a good price.

My Windows 10 machine detected the scanner, but I had to still install the drivers. I was hoping that it would work right out of the box like the Canon Lide series.
For the price, it is very serviceable. The scanner seems to auto correct some of the scratches, but I wish I could turn this feature off.

I bought this scanner in order to scan sports cards to sell on ebay.
It seemed to do ok for a few months, then started adding odd lines to every photo in the same area on the scanner
Being the scanner was out of warranty best buy wouldn't return it, but epson sent me a refurbished unit.
Overall, the scanner is ok, but there are cheaper, faster options when it comes to scanners

Great machine for scanning prints

Eleven years ago I decided to scan all my slides. negatives, and photo prints (over 10,000 of them). I purchased an Epson V500 to do the job. This takes a lot of time and effort! But the machine was great and the software to drive it was extremely versatile (especially in professional mode). After working my way through all the slides and negatives, I was burned out on the project & set the whole task aside. About six months ago I decided to complete the project. After scanning hundreds of prints, my trusty V500 died (it was 11 years old). I debated replacing it with the current version (the V600), but since I had already scanned all my slides & negatives, I decided to take a chance with the V39--I was afraid I would also lose the capabilities of the (Mac) software that I was using with the V500. To my great surprise & satisfaction, I found that the V39 used the same software, so I could access the same power to do color correction, backlighting compensation, dust reduction, multiple item scans, etc etc etc. I am very pleased. If you need to scan slides or negatives you need to use the V600. But for prints, the V39 does a great job. It still takes a long time though--there is no helping that.

Need a scanner for a quick job it fit the job needs. The price was right too. The fact it worked on a USB was great, just plug into my laptop downloaded the drivers and started to scan the papers. A great add on for the rest of my computer stuff I'll keep it handy.

A fickle thing

First the positives, affordable and does exactly what I needed. Scanning old photos to jpg.
Fairly simple to use and some handy auto numbering and files naming features. Nice compact letter size footprint and the scanner is powered by your laptop/pc by a single usb cable.
The biggest negative is, as I mentioned in the subject, it is a fickle thing. To get the scanner recognized by the laptop and ready to go is never as simple as it should be - no plug and play here. 100% of the time it requires a full reboot and after restart - ONLY AFTER restart plug the usb connector in and you’re ready to go. As a result of this irritating flaw I deducted two stars.
I tolerate this flaw because it was affordable and the scanning is a project we undertake only periodically. If I used the scanner more frequently I would have returned it.
So depending on your needs and your patience level - you might have something here and you might not.

Easy to use and works for copying books. Would be even better with a narrower edge to get into the gutter further.
